Fantastic staff here but I couldn’t wait to get out of the store because the doors have broken and stay open permanently. Absolutely freezing, I do not know how they work in these conditions. The doors have been broken for months apparently. Specsavers is a profitable company - shame on them for not sorting out the basics for their staff and their customers.

From walking in and the very pleasant welcome from the lady on the door to Sam helping myself and o/h choose our glasses. Sam is very knowledgable with a very relaxed manner. giving advice to what glasses suit. He looked over previous history of glasses we have had and picked up the possible reason why a previous pair were not quite right. He was spot on. We picked our glasses up a week later and all good. Top job Sam 👏. First class service from this man.

Great specsaver in newport Town centre very friendly helpful staff have had eye scan there having been referred from boots opticians for hospital checkup all done within 48 hrs too excellent and husband using the contact lenses centre upstairs did not have to wait long either 😀

I went in recently with my Mother for her Cataract check and they were great. I give three stars not five as during my routine appointment I was told I needed to wear correction for reading and driving and tried to hard sell contact lenses. I was concerned this advice, my vision is better than my wife's when driving, so a trip to Swansea Hospital for a second opinion proved I did not need any correction for driving. I would say the Aneurin Bevan NHS service is 5 🌟 but the private assessment for that specific Optician is 1 🌟 UPDATE: Changed to five 🌟 from three 🌟. I was called for my routine checkup, I I explained my frustration preventing my return. I was assured the optician at issue no longer worked for them. My return checkup was perfect from booking an appointment through to completion of assessment. Thank You!

The staff were lovely. Saw the optometrist on time. It was really clean and comfortable in there. I had great help from the staff which knew their products and offers. They were able to give me some great advice. They have a really great customer care service from start to finish. Thanks so much for my glasses :-)

Could not fault this service! I was seen by multiple members of staff who were all fantastic, especially Natalie who went out of her way to help me when I came in on Friday with sudden pain in my eye. The team here was fantastic, my mother and I were really impressed. Her and my brother frequently come here for their prescriptions and have not had one bad experience.

This is a huge place and has 2 floors. The 2nd floor is like a hospital for people with eye problems. I was a there with the ambulance look me up in the lift in a wheelchair as I was a patient to the second floor and the staff they are amazing and so very kind .

Went here today for an eye test and I can't remember the last time the customer service anywhere was this good. Everything ran to schedule, the staff were friendly and polite, and COVID precautions were brilliant, I felt completely safe my chair and table were even cleaned before I sat down.

Greeted by a young person on the door, very polite and asked me take a seat. Very busy but managed to get a seat. Lovely Muslim lady took me for a few questions and a few tests and then asked to take a seat. Sat for a little while and was then escorted to the optitonist. Very professional, optician examined me and confirmed my eyes were not bad for nearly 50. Spoke about reading glasses. She was great. Good service, good prices and options. Recommended.

Very friendly helpful staff. I'm sheilding for health reasons my immune system is very low. I collected my glasses but due to Covid19 I was handed then in a bag, I wasn't allowed to have them fitted due to the restrictions, but as they don't fit I have to make another appointment to have them fitted "from a distance" putting myself at risk again by going back into town, surely it would be quicker and safer for everyone to have them fitted on collection, saving am unnecessary appointment to go back.
