The staff were brilliant at helping my daughter get a new pair of glasses as she had a fall and snapped one of the arms off her glasses. As we were on holiday in the Isle of Wight we thought we would try and get them fixed at this Specsavers store and must say that the staff were very helpful and a big shout out to Dave who made mine and my daughters experience a whole lot better with his magic coin trick and showing her how some of the equipment works

Staff are absolutely lovely ! But I do think that some could benefit from more training in adjusting spectacle frames.... When you get new ones, the frames are almost always rather twisted, and are wonky when laid on a table..... I believe that this is due to the lenses being put in..... But staff need to straighten out the frames before starting to make adjustments, rather than get you to put on already-wonky frames..... I've had to learn to do my own adjustments, using YouTube and a hair dryer, because some staff are not all that competent at making adjustments....and repeated visits back to the shop for readjustments is a covid risk... I'm sorry to be negative about this, but I think it needs to be said..

Chris (the contact lens practitioner) is excellent - I love his relaxed easy-going nature, and he really is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful..... he's very willing to answer any questions, which is great, because I find the technical side of it all fascinating ! Chris is exceptionally thorough - he gave me various options, several pairs of trial lenses, and both he and myself are delighted with the exceptional quality of my vision ! Thanks Chris !

Really good experience with the Newport Isle of Wight branch. Professional and friendly from start to finish. No qualms at all about hygiene or social distancing. Was offered the 3D scan for an extra cost of £10 which I decided to have as it can identify problems almost before they start. I now have a referral to the hospital as something was picked up which I had no idea about even though I had had fairly regular eye tests. My sight is very important to me so I’m very glad I took the opportunity. My thanks to all those involved.

I recently had an emergency appointment with Chris. A contact lens has broken in my eye. I was unable to get an appointment anywhere else – Opticians offered me an appointment the following week! Chriswas absolutely brilliant, able to fit me in in the same day and was very thorough, professional and reassuring. I’m deeply impressed with Specsavers Newport not only Chris but also Ali, who is a really efficient and charming reception manager.
