Great staff and exceptional customer service. This place does not sell cheap glasses, it sells branded glasses competitively with customer service that is seldom found nowadays. Independent retailers. I bought some Oakley 5’s in 2003 and they were brilliant and unrivalled by anything I’d had since, and yes they weren’t cheap but I had them for 15 years and wore them every day for driving. Tried other shops in town and ilkeston, and ended up making the trip to Notts and was not disappointed. They even checked my prescription and re ordered my sunglasses after we noticed my prescription from somewhere else wasn’t quite right in the new glasses. Couldn’t fault them at all, well done Ash’ Bianca and Kevin (who is actually the big cheese 🙊) Would definitely recommend, it’s really close to the vic centre tucked away on kings walk, a nearby street. They also do contact lenses next door as part of the same great independent retailer customer service.

Nine years ago, due to poor customer service at another (VERY large chain) optician, I decided that - as I was sick of glasses breaking and falling apart - I would invest in Oakleys as my glasses (and prescription sunglasses) of choice. After visiting multiple optician's I plumped for Stephen-Donald. Not once in the nine years that I've been buying Oakleys from these guys have I been disappointed. Outstanding customer service and solid prices mean that I keep coming back and purchasing my glasses from them. Thoroughly recommended.

I've just bought a second pair of glasses from Stephen-Donald in Nottingham - I returned following buying my first pair a year ago. In summary, the service I received was excellent on both visits, I got good confident advice, i now have two pairs of glasses that are fit for purpose and lastly, I was not "sold" necessarily expensive glasses. This last point stands out: when I told them i was looking for reading glasses - they offered me frames that started from the bottom of the price range. I feel like I can trust them. Overall I'm really pleased and can't recommend them highly enough!

Ashley was exceptional in his customer service r.e. replacing my lens despite the logistical difficulties. Prompt, precise & clear. Highly recommended.

Always Excellent service, honest, knowledgable and very accommodating. They offer one of the finest selection of frames with many unique brands / looks. Would recommend to check them out over the generic high street opticians who always seem to be on a sales drive or up sell. Never any pressure from the team, in fact they will all go out of their way to help you find the best fit for you. A real plus is that they also offer simple Direct Debit finance meaning you can easily get top spec frame or lens you might of though were out of reach.
