My thanks to Katie at the Plymouth city centre branch for her patient help and advice to find the best option for adapting my 3 pairs of glasses to a new prescription. I visited again, having carelessly lost a pair of glasses. Served by Steve who has helped me in previous visits Despite the shop being disrupted due to refurbishment works, Steve provided great ideas and, together with his candid views, helped me find an ideal replacement. Excellent service.

Quick, professional and personal. Excellent service, thanks. Easy to find in Plymouth City Centre and lots of parking options. Not far from all bus stops too. Email and txt msg communication throughout booking, appointment reminding and prescription order status. I arrived about 15 mins early and was in before my time being seen. Very pleasant optician saw to my needs and made me feel comfortable.

An overall excellent experience. Plenty of communication via text and email regarding the eye test appointment. Store was light and airy. Staff mostly friendly (one exception who was a little rude with my wife) and helpful. A decent choice of frames available. The eye test itself was thorough and well explained as to what was happening and the optometrist was knowledgeable. (Ellie) My only gripe was the extra (voluntary) charge for the additional service to take a photo of the eyes. This isn’t something I have been charged for at other opticians and it wasn’t communicated at the point of booking. I felt a little under pressure to decide and felt like upselling something that should be part of a routine eye test. The cost of the eye test is a little higher than I usually pay, although you get a free test if you are an NHS worker (with proof of employment). Overall, I was happy with the service and will be returning next time I am due for my eye test. Thank you, ladies. A great service 👍👍👍

I have been really impressed by the excellent level of customer service and after care I have received at this Vision Express store. The staff are friendly, patient, personable, and reassuring. They offer candid advice on frames and worked with me to ensure that I could find an affordable option for my particular prescription. I have had to go back because the prescription (from a different optician) wasn't right, but they have been fabulous about it.

I have a high and complex prescription and have had a variety of knowledge and experiences with opticians over the last 35 years of wearing glasses. Mainly pretty poor, pushy and patronising. I was so impressed with my recent service from Peter at Vision Express. He was very knowledgeable, respectful, honest, patient and good humoured. I went to vision express with pains and strain pain , they did a few tests my eyes hurt as my tear ducts are blocked so have solid oils then I chose some glasses a man called Steve helped me he was very helpful I normally spend hours finding a pair but I showed him a similar pair I liked and straight away he knew exactly what I was looking for

I was warmly welcomed the minute I stepped through the door by a gentleman at reception who walked me to the seating area and offered me a coffee. I really wish I had taken his name, considering I was the last appointment of a probably very long day he was exceptional. His customer service skills were fantastic - he was friendly and put me at ease instantly. I was then seen by Isobel who carried out my first examination and then finally helped me select 2 sets of glasses (1 pair exactly the same as she was wearing - she really sold them to me just by wearing them so stylishly). Again, Isobel was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful. My eye test was carried out by Ricky, who was a delight! I haven't been for an eye examination for a while and I certainly don't remember ever feeling so comfortable. Ricky was smiling the whole time, very informative and engaging, I honestly couldn't speak more highly of the whole team. Ricky also ensured that the discount I was entitled to was processed (as I had accidentally left the letter and voucher I had initially received at home). The team have made a loyal customer out of me and I will be recommending Vision Expess Plymouth to family and friends.

The 5* review is for Steve Fowler and not the business. Steve has been beyond exceptional since I moved over to vision express from specsavers. I have had several pairs of ray ban frames from vision express and in recent times there have been a few problems (at no fault of vision express I might add) and Steve has always been there willing to help. I will be requesting Steve in any future dealings I have with vision express and I believe he is a real asset to the Plymouth branch and business as a whole.
