Nipped in to sort sunglasses or something, so I don't wear my contact lenses every day. Managed to get a pair of sunglasses frames, with prescription lenses that have the "reactions" (adjust to sunlight) in them, to collect next week 😇

The audiologist, Brian, made a home visit to my 95 year old mum, who has some dementia. She needed new hearing aids as her existing ones were insufficient. He tested her ears and managed to provide new hearing aids before her moving deadline. His contact with her was efficient and expert but he was also endlessly patient and kind . I would have no hesitation in recommending your department. A big thank you!

In these testing times it is refreshing to see such commitment to the methods of H&S in a retail environment. So many places have become nonchalant to preventive measures needed to protect service users and providers. I am all to aware of best practice and required standards. Not the usual experience I’m used to from Specsavers, Everything went well till I picked up my glasses, I chose two pairs one set normal verifocal lenses ,and one pair of sunglasses but I did say like the other two lots of sunglasses over the last four years which I chose verifocal reactalite and that’s what I asked for but when I picked them up they were fixed sunglasses. And I felt rushed and found them very expensive .when I challenged them they said that’s what you ordered..

Helpful and friendly staff - my appointment overran by at least 20 minutes which was a bit annoying and they tried to tell me that a 3D scan was necessary and required on my eyes (for an extra cost) but the scanner didn’t even work. Overall positive experience just a few minor annoyances

More than satisfied with the service I received. Having been apprehensive of having a test, due it being my first time. I was made to feel more than comfortable and at ease. The staff were highly professional and friendly. I think Specsavers sets the standard, for how to deal with P.P.E and Coronavirus mitigation during these current times, the extent they went to in order to protect staff and customers was incredible.

After previously praising Specsavers yesterday I was disappointed with the service. I had rang them to say I was still experiencing strobe flashing in one of my eyes which I have had now many months. I was asking for advice as I had previously been treated by a specialist for this and needed to know if I needed to go back to the hospital as I don’t want this to worsen. I talked to a really nice receptionist who said a ophthalmic qualified person would call me. Anyway to be fair I was called by I think her name was Rachael who wasn’t as sympathetic as I thought she should be at times being a bit sharp with my questions to her . I asked if she thought I should ring the hospital that’s when she was sharp with me saying they won’t see you now you will need a referral from your doctor. I told her they said I could call them if I had problems and she just sort of sighed and said well if they said that call them and ring us if you need to book another eye appointment. All I wanted was reassurance but I didn’t find it unfortunately today with this lady.

What a relaxed experience from start to finish. I was greeted when I walked in to make an appointment. I returned for said appointment which was very thorough and calm, the best examination ever. After being shown the different ranges, I chose from the £69 section. Beth advised me about the different offers and arranged my prescription and order. At collection I was lucky enough to be attended by Beth once again. She checked that my glasses fitted correctly and I was happy with them. Thank you.

I Always go to Specsavers as it’s the closest to me and easiest. Booking online is easy as is walking in the shop without appointment to repair your glasses. The waiting times can be long so be prepared to wait for a while. Friendly staff who are happy to help. Nice and clean and everything well organised. Will send you regular magazines with new designs of glasses and post letters to remind you when your eye test is due.

Always get great customer service here. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. my pre- eye test was done by a very happy and friendly lady, who explained everything she was asking me to do. then by a gent who puts you at ease while having the main test done. Went back a week later to pick my glasses up. Had to go back to have them adjusted 3 days later as they was too tight behind my ears. Again nothing ever too much trouble. Got them adjusted within 10 minutes of being in there. great job specsavers. Your staff are a credit to you! Xx

An excellent selection of frames at a price to suit everyone.Although often very busy they have plenty of friendly and helpful staff to keep waiting to a minimum. Their service has been consistently very high. They also did my hearing test and fitment of bilateral hearing aids most thoroughly, efficiently and sensitively.

What fantastic service! 🙌 I had two pairs of glasses, both with one arm missing owing to me being so careless with them 😫. I popped in on the off chance that one pair could be repaired ... Sam fixed both pairs by setting my lenses into new frames in just 10 minutes! 😊 And during that short time a member of staff checked I was being served. The repair cost almost nothing ... First of all I would like to say how happy I am with the service of having my very thorough and informative eye test, the lady was great, then the lady who helped me choose my glasses, she went through everything even showing me different styles on her I pad. I went with the advice of the optician and got a pair of varifocals, a pair of reading glaases for computer use and also, a pair of prescription sunglasses for driving. Also, the young man who attended to me when I went to pick them up was also very nice and helpful. I would have given 5 stars except for one thing today. I was due to collect my glasses appointment time 09.10. The bus was slightly late so I got into town about 09.05, I realised when I got near to St George's centre I was going to be slightly late. I called the shop and explained to the girl. She then said to me, if you are more than 10 mins late you will probably have to re book. I told her I was nearly at the shop and I was off work today so ideal to come today. She didnt seem interested that I had called to explain. She just said, come to the shop but you may have to re book an appointment. I think that was really bad customer service. The lady who was stood at the door told me it was ok that I was a little late. It's a shame the other lady didnt acknowledge that when I called.

Paid a visit as my mother needed a hearing test. The audiologist explained things clearly during the consultation and had a pleasant manner. I would have 5 stars but for the confusion when I came to collect my mother from the store as she is in her eighties. I found her wandering the streets when I said for her to wait in the shop. It would have been nice to not let her go until I arrived back.

Booked an appointment online to see an optometrist for a routine eye test. Easy to find location in the city centre, the clinic is upstairs with a sperate reception. Had an appointment this morning during covid19 lockdown and there was an issue with my appointment however It was agreed that I would be seen when I could of quite easily been asked to rebook . The staff were super friendly and super organised in terms of preparation for each appointment and making sure each customer was well informed about PPE staff may be wearing and even wiping down each seat before a customer sat on it was made to feel at ease and not a burden on the service during such difficult times Amazing Work specsavers

Going down hill.... been a loyal customer for for over 20 years. I had awful experience last month and more recently I went with my teenager for their eye test/contacts lense check. Unfortunately we were 10 min late due to icy weather (I did phoned prior let them now) after waiting 5 mins for the receptionsist we missed our eye test appt, despite it being early Sunday morning and quiet! Okay for them to keep us waiting 15 mins each time we visit. We both have contacts (none nhs) so I pay £50 a month for contact lenses and even more £ for designer glasses etc all adds up.

Well , first time ever went for the eye test in my life, even it was for my girl (4 years old) all went smoothly , until start choosing glasses... the expert said (nothing to worry about , all good , will require to wear all the time the glasses for about a half or a year) but will be ok, as just one eye not looking right, however when we came down stairs, and the girl/stuff which took an extra payment for the 2nd pair glasses lenses, said oooh 😲 that's really bad diagnose, your daughter will have to wear the glasses all the time since now , for all her life -honestly , thanks -really promising and doesn't really match what the expert said!!!! But the worst thing is-you have to wait 2 weeks until you will receive the glasses from the day of the eye test, If I would know that in advance, I would go somewhere else!!!

It is rather disappointing that Specsavers in the "CITY" of Preston are not able to carry out DVLA eye tests. When I last had to do one, three years ago, I had to trek all the way to Specsavers Chorley. It meant an hour journey on the bus out, and another hour back, plus the test time. Why can't Preston Specsavers do DVLA tests? I have just been told by the DVLA that me next over 70s test is due, and again, I have to trek off to Chorley.
