Excellent service. The optician who attended my 88 year old mum was very friendly and quickly put my mum at ease. He gave a very indepth eye test and was very knowledgeable, especially about Macular Degeneration which my mum has. There was a great selection of frames to choose from. Overall a great service that we will use again for my mum.

I organised a home eye test for my mother-in-law, who is 96 and housebound. It's a brilliant service. Contact with people in the office on the phone was easy: they communicated day and time of appointment promptly and clearly. I was contacted again on the day when the optician was on his way to confirm the exact time. The optician himself, Steve, was very professional, but also a simply delightful man who could not have been more helpful. He did over and above what was expected: my mother-in-law had every confidence in him and was very happy with everything. Based on this experience, I would highly recommend The Outside Clinic. Stephen was very helpful and considerate and while a previous optician had said there was nothing they could do, he was able to provide her with reading glasses at the distance she needed and it made a vast difference and she will hopefully be able to read again much more easily when the glasses arrive. I was very impressed with the service we received. Mum lives alone at a great distance from me. She has dementia and I was worried about a stranger going into her home. Mum enjoyed the visit and was impressed with the fact that everything was explained to her in a way that she could understand. They were obviously trained to look after people with dementia. The service that my mum received was execellent, the optician was very patient and helpful with my mum, who has memory loss, he explained to me that mum has cateracts and how they can help with that, to sign up to their plan, (which is only £25, so well worth it) so that when the cateracts are removed, we can get new lenses without having to pay yet again. He explained clearly what i needed to do, and that for my mum, plastic glasses would be better, so that the lenses can be changed without having to get new frames again. He explained what we need to do when we hear from the hospital regarding the cateracts. He couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and kind. Excellent service, would truly recommend

I was unable to get to a optician in the town, due to health problems and visiting me at home helped tremendously. Reasonably satisfied..efficient and polite though an introduction using names would have been welcomed and for communicating with someone of 80 with memory issues a slower pace of explanation was needed. ( I was there to recap slowly) So it's not the medical side but the social communicating that was weaker. Overall the optician was professional and pleasant.

I will not be using this service again. The woman doing the eyetest was lovely and friendly. The eyetest itself was fine. The problem came when selecting frames. There is no online service for looking at frames. The frames I had to select from were kept in a backpack essentially. They weren't especially clean, many were damaged with missing lenses and nose pieces and the selection itself was extemely limited. Had I been thinking I would have just gotten the prescription and gotten the glasses made up somewhere else.

The optometrist, Rachel, was very professional, thorough and patient. I was so pleased that my mum was able to get her eyes tested at home as she struggles to get out due to my dad’s care needs. I booked a hearing test for my dad last year and the service was also of a very high standard. The audiologist, Faisal, was very thorough and professional. The additional information, aftercare and advice given at the end of each visit was also very useful. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the the Contact Centre/Administration team, who are very efficient and dedicated to their role. The communication is excellent, they keep you informed and updated at all times. I would highly recommend the OutsideClinic to anyone with mobility issues, who would benefit from a home visit. The lady who visited my 95-year-old father was superb. She dealt with him very patiently despite his hearing and memory issues, took time to understand his needs and explaining in layman's terms; it also helped no end that she reinforced things we've been telling him for some time about when he should and shouldn't wear his glasses. Very professional service and the lady who visited my Mother was very good. Prices were a little higher than we hoped for, but she explained that my Mums lenses are quite complex. Very pleasant experience and only reason I haven't given 5 stars is the £25 insurance cover was automatically added and although the lady mentioned this during her visit, I don't recall actually saying that we wanted it. It wasn't until I reviewed the receipt later that I noticed it had been added on. Other than that, very good service. Update: Very dissapointed with the method of delivering the glasses. Considering the high value of the glasses, I would have expected these to be delivered by courier or even by one of the opticians. However, after a week of waiting since they were posted out, have now been told they are still with royal mail. Not happy!

A lovely gentleman called Rob came to my elderly father's house to carry out an eye examination. He was very patient and respectful with my Dad. He helped guide him with choosing new glasses, without making him feel at any point, pressured into making a purchase. The Optomotrist was good but I was very disappointed that the service was advertised as a Specsavers home visit facility. We have used Specsavers for many years as their aftercare is exemplary. Now, I had to pay over £200 for spectacles which would cost half that amount in the shop. However, needs must, as we can’t get there now so this service was appreciated.

Fantastic service, Harjaap couldn't of been more helpful, we felt he went above and beyond to accommodate my disabled wife, he tailored the eye exam to her and nothing was too much trouble. He wasn't pushy nor did he try and oversell, being pensioners a lot of people try to take advantage and after a bad experience with a different company this was a concern of ours, but not anymore will definitely be rebooking for my own eye tests in the future as well as my wife's when she is due for her next sight test.

Was pleasantly surprised about the whole service which was offered to me . I couldn’t believe how much equipment was available that was used in my eye test examination. There were no problems from having the eye test to choosing and purchasing my glasses . I’m now awaiting the delivery of my spectacles, I would definitely advise people to use this service if it is offered to them , as it saves so much time normally having to plan going out to the optician .

I was very impressed by the service of both the home eye test and the home hearing test. The people that came to carry out these tests were very friendly and helpful, even after they had had to lug their equipment to my first floor flat. I now have a problem with the high tech hearing aids that I have bought because when I took off my mask, after the audiologist had left, it pulled the hearing aids from my ears and ever since, it is like living with a flock of noisy birds in my ears. I have reported this problem to the Outside Clinic and I am waiting for a new appointment. We shall see how quickly they resolve my probleem.

Optician kept in touch to advise of arrival time. She was very polite and pleasant. Also extremely thorough in taking Mum’s history and in her examination and explanation. Prescription hadn’t changed and her glasses in good condition, so we didn’t have to consider new ones but she was offered a magnifier with a light which she bought. The whole experience in the comfort of her own home and relaxed environment was so much better than organising a trip to local Optician with uncertainty of Mums health on the day or the weather. We will definitely be using OutsideClinic again.

Needed to arrange an eye test at home for my Mum. A little wary as to who to approach, but settled on Outside Clinic largely because of its nhs 'partnership' link. Very easy to get things started through the website, then a friendly, helpful follow-up call resulted in Alex's appointment at my Mum's home. All very thorough and efficient. The eye test was free and the resulting discussion about lenses and frames was conducted in a very helpful and knowledgeable manner without any feeling of pressure - it felt like Alex was genuinely interested in sorting out what would be best for my Mum. Would certainly recommend them as a home visit optician service.

I am replying on behalf of my husband who had an eye test in our home last week. The young man who carried out the test arrived with an array of up-to-date equipment which I found very impressive. I had a test at a local opticians the previous week and I was amazed at how thorough and extensive the Outside Clinic test was compared to my test. The young man was outstandingly polite, pleasant, informative and thorough. Having concluded the test he produced a concertina bag which contained an amazing array of spectacle frames. No shortage of choice. He advised on specific details for the lenses and the choice was made. Best eye test ever.

The officer was very helpful, she took time to ask about any concerns I have, especially regarding using a computer for translation work for several hours each day. She came well-equipped -- after doing the necessary tests she pulled up samples that seemed to meet that need, trying alternatives to identify the optimum lenses and fit. An excellent and thorough service, which greatly helped me as I am physically disabled and find it impossible to attend opticians in tow. Centres. The ophthalmia was so polite and courteous. Every part of the process is explained. A selection of spectacles are brought to the appointment but there is no obligation to buy at all. The whole appointment took about an hour, and I would recommend this service to anyone.

The female optician was very punctual and adapted very easily to the constraints of the room in which she carried out a very thorough eye examination. I can only write about my hearing and eye tests today as I have not yet received my hearing aid or glasses. The audiologist who came was very friendly and efficient. I can't think of anything that could have been done better. I look forward to receiving my hearing aid in the near future. Likewise the optician who came to test my eyes was business like and thorough. Both had to contend with my friendly dog and cats...and did so with understanding and patience. I am now waiting on my glasses arriving.

Efficient service and all very professional. Only thing I would request is to give clients a time (I know it can't be exact because all appointments will take different times) . I had to wait with my mother-in-law for a couple of hours as I could only be given 'morning or afternoon' appointment. I am not local to my mother-in-law and it was quite frustrating! Other than that, it was a great relief not to struggle to take her to an outside appointment and we were given good advice and referred to the hosital.

The optician was a very pleasant and efficient person. She explained fully what she was going to do. The eye test was very straight forward and the selection off glasses frames after the test was pretty good. She explained all about the results and I could ask as many questions as I wanted. The payment methods offered were straight forward and you had to pay a minimum of 50% of the total cost of the glasses chosen or pay, in excess of this or the total. No pressure applied at all. The process took less than an hour and I was totally satisfied at the service provided.

Expensive, and not much advance communication - neither email or letter. The first written communication I received was this request for a review. This appointment was for my mother, who is over 80, there was a phone call to confirm the date with her but she did not understand what exactly she was paying for - over £600 for two pairs of glasses. I hope she doesn't need to get her eyes tested again - she definately can't afford this service!

What a great service! The optician who visited me was very nice, friendly but professional and did a great job. My only criticism would be the selection of frames was obviously somewhat limited and the quote was an extortionate amount of money! My glasses are always expensive because of my prescription and the desire for very thin lenses, however these were £200 more than what I usually pay, presumably recouping the cost of a home visit 🤷🏻‍♀️ hence the 4 stars rather than 5.

My experience in having my eyes tested by Outside Clinic was excellent in all respects. I have nothing but praise for the experience, everything worked perfectly from making the first contact to having the prescription statement. I have now had both eyes operated on for cataracts and everything is fine. I only have to wear glasses for reading and colours are very vivid. I am now 90 and have been wearing glasses for 70 years so it has made a big difference to my life. The process started with having my eyes tested at home by one of your employees so thank you very much.

The Outside Clinic Team were so professional (and friendly) from 1st call to glasses delivery. Kept us informed with written and verbal communications from the get go. Visit from the optician (Lee) was exceptional and thorough with no feeling of pressure regarding sales. I had warned my mother not to expect too much as she has macular degeneration. However, upon receipt of 2 pairs of spectacles, she is now able to see better than she has for a few years. It was wonderful not to have the stress of getting to the optician. The phone call to reassure me that the optician would be on time was very helpful. The optician herself was very pleasant and polite and did a very professional job. I am confident my new glasses will improve my vision. I would have given the review 5* but I was disappointed in the range of frames available, although I do realise it is difficult when they have to be transported. I did observe that the frames themselves looked as if they could do with a good clean.

The optician was excellent , really helpful and patient , but the booking process is clumsy, slow and vaguely reminiscent of old British Gas: - fill out details on line - get a phone call to repeat details - wait for a letter setting an arbitrary date and without time of appointment - wait for a phone call a week before appointment to confirm date and indicate either an am or a pm appointment - phone call indicates a 12 noon- 5 pm slot - wait in most of the afternoon for a call to say the appointment will happen in about an hour’s time. There has to be a better way!

I have been using Outside Clinic for about seven years since I became virtually housebound through prolapsed discs and spinal stenosis and have always been extremely happy with the service provided. However my only difficulty was that the spectacles on offer were always on the expensive side and this year I decided to try another optician who could provide cheaper glasses but this has resulted in very poor customer service and I am still waiting for the completion of my purchase three months after the eye exam. So I made an online enquiry on the Outside Clinic website asking if they could supply cheaper glasses in future. This resulted in a phone call a few hours later asking how they can help. I told her all about my trouble with the other optician and she assured me that she had entered requirement for cheaper spectacles in my notes along with an annotation stating that I needed the left lens frosted or possibly completely blacked out. She has also made a note in her diary to contact me herself to book an appointment for the optician. A very charming lady and has excellent customer service. I feel very reassured that my eyesight is back in safe hands.

I was very reserved about having eye tests done at home. Within minutes my worries were gone. Making an appointment for us both was easy and for the following week. An excellent Optician arrived and soon laid all her equipment out in the house. Photographs were taken of the back of our eyes. This very useful service saved me the almost impossible task of taking my 98-year-old mum to an optician. the whole process worked very well and although mum's advanced Alzheimer's caused a few problems, the optician dealt with her very well. It was very interesting to see her kitchen converted into an optician's consulting room. The optician said her distance vision was fine and a new prescription was not required, but new reading glasses would be beneficial. There was a wide variety of frames to choose from and no particular pressure was applied in order to make a sale. We have ordered new lenses and frames for a very reasonable price.

The appointment was easy to make, the optometrist who came to our home was both professional and friendly, her equipment was elegant and unobtrusive and, to cap it all, she was able to dispense a new pair of spectacles on the spot. We both thought the eye test was extremely thorough and the choice of frames much more comprehensive than we expected from a home visit. Would recommend the service despite the wait which is the only reason we have not given 5 stars.

After sitting in with my elderly mother for this eye test, I was super impressed by the optician, professional, friendly, helpful and understanding. Pointing us to the necessary help needed, to better my mothers eyesight, nothing was too much trouble and the optician was careful and took the time it took to provide excellent service. Would 100% recommend. The NHS are second to none, up against some extreme situations in this troubled world. Hats of to this in home eye test service, for extremely vulnerable people. Very grateful.

I booked this for my 89 year old father. I didn't know what to expect but I needn't have worried. The young man was polite and courteous and extremely professional. The level of care and various tests were no different to visiting an opticians in person. It was identified his eyesight had changed, I know this to be correct as my father reported new difficulties with his sight. He purchased new glasses for £10 and they will be sent to his home, already measured and fitted. Having just had a stroke my father would never have been able to visit an optician. What an amazing service this is, thank you so much

My experience of Outside Clinic was very impressive. A lovely young man came to test my Mum's eyes. She has recently had a stroke and cannot speak. He was patient, he spoke to my Mum direct, not over her like so many do. He was thorough and gentle. He explained everything he was doing and gave encouragement to her. I felt very at ease with him and so did my Mum.

Excellent service. Tested my wife at home who is bedridden. They’ve got all the gear just as in an optician’s shop including eye pressure equipment. Ali was very caring. Set up electronic screen and went through all the tests. Finally prescribed to remove her double vision and bluriness. Glasses are no more expensive possible even cheaper than competition eg Specsavers. Quality of glasses frames looks excellent. There was no charge for eye test as she is of retirement age.

Very professional home eye test from a courteous agent - cannot fault the experience. However, before arranging an appointment, clearer details of terms would have been helpful. At the test, I discovered that hip replacements may not qualify for a free test. Furthermore, my test was not due for another month. I could have waited, travelled to a local optician. and saved the agent a very long journey. Otherwise, excellent service, thanks.

My wife has been bed bound for nearly four years and during that time she has developed a wariness of strangers and visitors.Because of this she was a little worried about fairly close contact with a stranger examining her eyes.She was instantly put at ease by the young(and very handsome)opthalmologist who explained what the procedures were and what to expect.I was amazed at his ability to reassure her so quickly and to assess her vision without fuss.In my ninety years I have seldom met anyone as kind and considerate as this young professional and I hope we get him next year.
