First eye test in ages. Service was fast and staff were friendly. Very thorough and professional eye test. Definately felt it met my needs and was good value. Then after a good service to help with choosing glasses and options. Overall I was very happy and am waiting to pick up my new glasses on a nice fast turnaround.

Igra my optician was fantastic. I came for an appointment because I had a white flash in my vision and I was scared something serious was wrong. Igra was reassuring but yet helped me understand that a referral to the hospital was needed and in my best interest. She couldn't dilate my pupils as I had driven to the appointment, so instead she asked another optician to give a second opinion. I had a visit to the eye hospital the very next morning (super quick referral) and the consultant at the hospital praised the Specsavers optician for picking this up. I have peripheral degeneration which he said would have been near impossible for the Specsavers opticians to notice without dilating my pupils, so was very complimentary of them for noticing something and referring immediately. This is the second time in the 15+ years I've been a Specsavers customer that I've been referred to the hospital for further tests. And both times the hospital consultants have been impressed that my conditions have been picked up so early. Thank you Igra and everyone at Specsavers Southampton for looking after my eyes so well!

Spec savers could not have helped me more. You see I am permanently in a wheelchair due to whole leg amputation. They turned the room all round to make me comfortable what more can you ask. I've been a customer for almost 32 years and never had such an awful experience as I did this time. Firstly I've been going to Specsavers since I was 3 years old and it was discovered my brain wasn't using my right eye. I spent alot of my 3rd year in the eye hospital having tests and 32 years of records saying I can't see in that eye, vision is complex. I have always had free sight tests. When I came to Specsavers I was told if my vision in my good eye hadn't changed much that I would pay. When I saw a member of staff for my sight test he was incredibly rude stating "well it doesn't say you can't see out of that eye" telling me I didn't have loss of sight and being incredibly rude. I felt very upset and walked out of the appointment. When I saw the directorate he was alot friendlier and went out of his way to help. My glasses to correct my left eye (good eye) and the prism in the right lens (to bring my bad eye in) were ordered. I picked the glasses up and I could not focus at all. I was told I'd get used to them but I didn't. Everything was hard to focus and I had a yellow line around what I was seeing. I went back and explained to the member of staff that I couldn't see, she said "oh I know the problem" and tried to adjust the glasses frame. I told her it was the lens itself then as I was looking and talking about it. I was the one who realised the error there was a prism in both lenses not just the right one like it should have been. I rely solely on my left eye and I had a lens that was pushing my eye away causing me to have horrendous pain in my eye and head. I was asked to come back with my glasses so they could be amended. I came back a few days later and as I was sat in the waiting room in ear shot of the reception I heard a male member of staff slagging me off very rudely saying "well she was the one who asked for the prism" the female manager was also very rude about me. I had NOT asked for a prism in the left lens for my good eye just the prescribed prism in my left lens. He obviously assumed it was my fault and aired his opinion very loudly. I felt physically sick and very cross. The female manager came up to me and I told her "how dare you and your staff talk about me so rudely, that was me you were talking about", she replied "yes but I didn't say your name". She then made out it was supposed to be like that even though I was the one showing pointed it out. I saw the directorate again who gave me a full refund, listened to me and was supportive. I informed him how very rude his staff were and this needed discussing with them as it was unacceptable. I have never in the whole 32 years I've been a customer complained but this service was awful not just by one but by few. The directorate has been very good at sorting a pair of glasses for me and rectifying the issue and for that I'm very grateful. It has really upset me and I don't feel comfortable going to the shop to collect them so the directors is kindly delivering them. Thank god for him being the directorate there. At least he cares and I'm sure he will have the service running much better. I've increased the stars because of the directorate support.

Great why go anywhere else when you can get 2 pairs for the price of one. Opticians are great as are the staff on the shop floor. They are also spot on with dealing with customer in these Covid restricted times.

I am extremely impressed by the service provided by Specsavers in Southampton today, although it is a rather lengthy process due to Lockdown (give yourself an hour if you are purchasing new glasses too), their professionalism was second to none. This is a completely Covid'19 friendly business and essential to your health. I highly recommend this buisness.

I went to Specsavers for the first time yesterday and it was a pleasure. All the staff were so helpful, charming and friendly, and I came away with two pairs of glasses for just £69. My last two optician appointments were at Vision Express and it was always a drag, however this was great and I’ll certainly be back in a few years time for another eye test.

Nice staff I give one star less because I ordered two pairs of glasses with different frames but they did two the same frames. They advised me to find a second different frame and they will do my order again but I couldn't find frame which I choose before and I had to took frame which wasn't that cool like the first.

Got a free eye test literally as I walked in there, there was a cancellation which meant I was able to be seen straight away (I Googled a free eye test promotion) Then they asked if I would like contact lenses and gave me the opportunity to have a free consultation which I accepted for the next day. After I came back and had the consultation they printed two prescriptions and gave me one months free contact lenses. Fantastic service and will definitely recommend this opticians if you are in the Southampton Central area.

Went to your branch in town, because I thought my glasses needed changeing. The optician I saw advised me to go to eye hospital straight away as there was an issue with my left eye. It turns out that I had a bleed in my eye which was affecting my sight not my glasses. After nearly a year of treatment my sight has improved so went back for eye test. Saw the same optician who remembered me. Sorted out new glasses. I can't praise Specsavers enough for their help and care..

Anyway the first set I couldn't get used to, so without quibble I paid a bit extra and got the tailor made which on the whole have been much better.
