I have been using Leightons Opticians in Swindon for many years for myself and my children. Our recent visit was just like all of the others, fantastic. We were seen on time, had a friendly optician and received excellent customer service. I would highly recommend.

I wanted a second opinion eye exam to rule out my eyes or glasses as been the cause. I was having some strange issues with dizziness and nausea. So chose Leightons as I have always gone to Boots. I saw Suzanne McIntyre and I had the Ultimate eye examination. The whole team came across friendly but professional. Suzanne really did fill me with the confidence that she definitely knew her profession and what she said was correct. I have always recommended boots to friends and family members in the past as I wont go to specsavers as its just too rushed and in-personnel. Leightons is quite the opposite and even though it was more expensive than boots or specsavers, I would rather pay that bit extra when it comes to my eyes to feel that they have being examined correctly and in-depth and not felt as though I was rushed through. From now on I will be going to Leightons and recommending them.

Excellent service, best glasses I've ever had. The team took time to understand my slightly odd eyes and listened to my explanations of why previous glasses had not always worked well for me. I now have lenses that let me work clearly and frames that are comfortable and easy to care for. Substantially better service than the two previous opticians I had used.

Im so pleased with the service at Leightons , both in the optician and hearing department. Kate in fitting of the glasses is so full of helpful information , advice and knowledge. She has been so patient in helping me adjust to varivocals. Due to my age I had to use varivocals, I gave up the first time. Yet with Kate's knowledge and patience, I tried again. If you have to wear varivocals please keep trying there really not nice to begin with yet once you hit the two week marker they gradually get better. When you hit the 4 week marker, I only notice them now when I get tired. The benefits of being able to see the car dials , distance and not having to swap between readers and normal glasses is so much better. Thanks to Kate I kept going with them this time. I also have swapped my sunglasses to varivocals now. Hopefully we will get sun soon and I can try them out as well. I also want to leave a review for Adam. He is so kind, patient and reassuring in regards to ear wax removal. He takes his time reassures you , explains everything as he works on you. I couldn't ask for any better service. In regards to Covid procedures the whole branch is amazing. From a very anxious, long covid sufferrer ,they have completely put me at my ease. They always book me in when the practice is quiet which is much appreciated. There cleanliness is amazing, Lauren wipes door handles and chairs after someone has used them. So do the other staff. They all use masks, aprons, face Shields and hand gel. The reception team, Lauren and Wendy are very kind as well. I am so pleased with the continued support and service I receive from the whole team at Swindon branch. Thanks again.

In all my years wearing glasses, I have visited many opticians, from the high street big names, to small privately owned opticians. However, I will say that my visit to Leightons Opticians branch in Swindon was the best experience I have had visiting an opticians! Even though it was during lockdown restrictions, I found the staff very friendly, helpful, and professional. The optician was very thorough, explaining what each test was for, and then went through all of the results, also explaining what they all meant for my eye health (luckily nothing for me to worry about!) I quickly chose my glasses and was advised what options I could have for my lenses (not cheap, but they are good!) When I picked them up, they were checked, and we agreed that I would be OK to wear them for a while, and if needed, make a further appointment for them to be checked for fit and comfort. All in all, a very pleasant experience, and I intend to carry on using Leightons as my optician!

Excellent service. All staff super helpful and professional. I had an eye test but didn’t buy my new glass here. I bought new glasses from Specsavers where the service is awful but glasses are less than half the price. Shame really but Specsavers for 2 pairs was over £250 cheaper.

A very thorough examination, no rush and everything explained. I did O level biology but learnt more about the eye in 5 minutes than 5 years at school. Good Covid routines made me feel secure as well as a valued client.

Both my husband and I wear glasses and have been attending Leightons now for several years. All the staff at Leightons are extremely helpful and courteous so visits are enjoyable. Waiting times when visiting are minimal, and we are always seen on time, which is rare these days. The shop is welcoming and standards are high. The care we receive is exceptional and we even get a decent cup of coffee when we visit! Another plus is that when ringing Leightons, the "holding" music is very pleasant and calming. We probably pay more than we would at one of the High Street opticians, but we have had very few issues with new spectacles, and if we have any queries, they are quickly sorted out - and with a smile too, unlike some stories we have heard from friends who have visited other opticians. Leightons were supper professional in from my eye test, to frame selection and ordering the frames. I went in just before Christmas and was promised would have my glasses in 2weeks but because of the covid situation there was a delay but there was never a time I wasnt aware what was happening, Kate has been exceptional with keeping me update every step of the way, this is truly exceptional service as a customer should never be left to call and find out it was the proactiveness in reaching out to me that stood out

Great visit to Leightons Opticians, I found Kate to be friendly and understanding when it came to picking out the right frames, I spent a great deal of time looking through all the available frames and her patience was appreciated. I left happy with my selection and Kate was even kind enough to order some frames in for my husband who knew exactly what he wanted and he later came back to purchase. After changing jobs I needed to find an optician closer to my work and decided to go with Leighton's, was really glad I did! Staff were all really friendly and my eye test was very thorough. Had to have new glasses and these had arrived within a couple days! Have never received a new pair of glasses that quickly! Will definitely be sticking with Leighton's!

Whilst visiting Leightons for their optical services and as I have suffered from high-range hearing loss for several years, when visiting Leightons for an eye test, it was suggested that I should have a hearing test, so an appointment was duly made. It was a very comprehensive test and I was not rushed or pressured in any way. My wife was invited to come in with me when I had the test, on the basis that her voice was probably the one I heard most! After the test I was shown a range of Oticon hearing aids that could be purchased and chose a pair that suited my situation and these were then configured to my hearing loss. What a difference these have made to both my life and my wife's! If any adjustments were needed to my hearing aids, then I just called into the shop and this was done, if possible, at the time. I did have an issue with one of the hearing aids, but as this was still under guarantee, this was quickly sorted out to my complete satisfaction. From the time I had my first hearing test until now, three years down the line, whenever I have called into the shop, the staff have always been very helpful and courteous and nothing is too much trouble. We have now purchased an Oticon TV Adaptor so that the sound from our TV goes directly to my hearing aids - for which my wife is very grateful as she no longer has to listen to any sports commentaries! Top marks to Beth, Adam and all the staff at Leightons for their excellent service. They always go above and beyond what is expected of them and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Thorough and hard working people who have coped very well with COVID and all that. Wife and I have been customers for years for specs. Lately I have used them for hearing as well. They proved knowledgeable, imaginative at arranging repairs and also very competitive in price.

Having tried other cheaper options I keep coming back to Leightons in Old Town. Very friendly and helpful front of house staff and excellent manager Kate who really helps me when it comes to picking out the right frames and lenses. Other places may be cheaper but you won't get the quality of lenses and the personal service you get at this branch of Leightons. Recommended without hesitation.

I've always received great care and attention from Kate and the team. My sister and bother-in-law are both opticians who have worked for a number of the chains in other parts of the country. They relay a number of horror stories of pressures to see x number of clients per day and unrealistic times given for examinations, improper records and pressure to sell. Both now happily work for independent opticians. As a result I make a point of going to independents and I've used Leightons for several years now for glasses and contacts. They take their time and examine you properly. They have a good range of glasses and rather frustratingly I've always managed to really like the most expensive pair in the shop! They are not cheap and I could probably get a better deal, hence 4 stars not 5, however I value the time and care that they offer so will return to help ensure that quality remains in the town.

Thank you for my excellent hearing test and hearing aid fitting. Adam was friendly, professional and knowledgable and very attentive to my needs. The test was very thorough with everything was explained as we went along. I didn’t realise how much I was missing until I had my new hearing aids fitted and wow - what a difference! The best thing is I don’t have to ask my grandchildren to repeat themselves anymore and I feel like I can get involved with life again.
