My husband discovered he had cataracts before lockdown. By the time he got to have them assessed they were so bad he could barely see at all, but was told the waiting list was three years! Waiting that long would have been intolerable. We saw Mr Nguyen and the surgery was just over a month later. He had both eyes done and the difference was amazing, he could instantly see so much better and the surgery was quick and completely painless. He had to laugh when the next day he went to comb his hair and saw his own face clearly for the first time in years. He is even coping without glasses, which he has worn since childhood, although he will need them for reading (eye test in the pipeline). Mr Nguyen and everyone we came into contact with were friendly and professional throughout. A positive experience all round.

Excellent service and amazing results. After 50 years of struggling with very poor eyesight and a very high lens prescription I can now see amazingly well. I received great care from Mr Nguyen and I highly recommend him if you are thinking of having Lens surgery. I received first class treatment from the initial consultation to the operation and after care. At all times I was made to feel I had chosen the right surgeon for my eye operation. Not sure how to start this review as thank you is not enough. From meeting Mr. Dan Nguyen to having my surgery I felt it was right for me. I have been researching Lens Replacement Surgery for four years and have had two previous consults with other surgeons but felt happy to go ahead when I met Dan. With his expertise and knowledge the surgery has already (three weeks ago) given me so much freedom not looking for glasses or reaching for contacts which didn't give me the vision I have today. In surgery you explained step by step and I could feel your fingers like feather on my face. I am amazed and humbled at the transformation. I have always been blessed with good eyesight being able to read without glasses well into my sixties. Then everything started to get blurred and driving was really difficult. I realised I probably had cataracts and found Mr. Nguyen online. I was able to get an appointment within a week! Following the usual tests he confirmed that I did indeed have cataracts in both eyes. I said I didn't want glasses - not a problem! A month later I had my first lens replacement and it was completely painless. On the way home from the very smart Wimslow Hospital I could clearly read the number plates of passing vehicles. About a month later I had my second procedure with equally good results. So no more cataracts and no glasses. I would recommend Dan to anyone who could benefit from this amazing procedure.

After finding out I had developing cataracts I started several months of reseach. What lens types are available, pros & cons of different lens technologies. Most important of all, which surgeon would I like to operate. So pleased I went with Dan. After our consultation he suggested the Rayner EMV would suit my needs. I also elected to have both eyes done at the same time. Faster total healing time & no neuroadaptation problems. Day of the surgery was a breeze, no pain or discomfort. 30 min after walking into theatre I walked back to my room. The results, fantastic! I could meet the standard for driving the next day. Before, I couldn't focus on anything at any distance without glasses. Now I have better than 20-20 vision & don't need glasses at all. If you're sitting on the fence, just go for it, it's life changing. Dan Nguyen is a brilliant surgeon & I recommend him without hesitation.

Dan did my cataract 4 weeks ago and I am really pleased with the result. My eyesight is better than it was 10 years ago. The whole process was very smooth and everything was explained in advance and during the procedure which was more straightforward than anticipated. It was tricky to know who best to carry out my surgery after a cataract has grown very quickly following retinal detachment and my failing eyesight was casting real doubt on my ability to drive(which I do for a living). I spoke with Mr Nguyens secretary Debbie Sumner and explained my dilemma, unfortunately due to COVID operating restrictions the operation could not happen but she assured me that they would prioritise my treatment. A pre op consultation was reassuring and realistic. At all times I have been treated with calm respect and felt in safe hands I was squeezed into the first day of operations and the procedure was satisfactory and vision restored. I have since had the cataract in my other eye removed and my vision is the best that I have ever known and without glasses or contact lenses.
