The little screw in the frame of my glasses dropped. I went to two or three optical shops at York and was told that only the glasses with their brand could be fixed. I happened to enter OpticalExpress and told my trouble. Addy was very helpful and she fixed the problem without charging any fee. I was impressed by her smile and warm help. The other two staff in the shop were very friendly, too. Sometimes minor problems are very annoying. Addy made me feel better. Thanks.

I popped into the York branch to get the arm.of my glasses straightened. It turned out that the hinge was damaged after I had bashed them. They spent ages between 2 of them trying to.fix the problem.until they managed it. Really excellent service, friendly and determined to fix it. My experience was great. All of the staff were very welcoming, polite and knowledgeable. The shop is spacious with a huge array of designer frames, and I always find exactly what I want. We were able to have one of our eye tests early, as they were initially 2 hours apart, another bonus! The eye test was very thorough and the girl explained everything. Will definitely be back!

After sitting on my specs and putting the frame out of alignment. I called in Optical Express in Parliament to see if they could sort them for me. A bright and cheery young woman popped up from behind the screen and offered her assistance. After explaining my problem, the young lady - Jasmine - asked me to call back in 10 minutes. 10 minutes later the specs were handed back to me straight and sparkly clean. - Excellent customer service at no cost. Have been coming to this particular branch since my first pair of glasses around 17 years ago and the staff have always been polite and professional. I hadn't been to the opticians for a couple of years as I kept putting it on the back burner but the staff welcomed me back and got everything sorted for me with ease. had been thinking of laser surgery for a few years but never got round to it till this year. the staff at the York store were amazing very friendly and explained everything in detail. when I went for the surgery in Leeds the staff there were so helpful and welcoming. the surgery took about 15 mins and I was out of the clinic within in hour. it felt slightly rushed after the surgery but I guess thats because of the pandemic. I had slight discomfort after the surgery the worst passed after a day or so however the improvement in vision was instantaneous. just had my 3 month after care appointment and my vision is better than 20/20 (yeah i didnt believe that was possible but they say that and theyre the experts). Overall one of the best decisons I've made. Yeah it can be pricey but in the long run not having to pay for glasses every couple of years being able to buy a cheap pair of sunnies if needed and just being able to see from first thing in the morning to last thing at night is great. If you are thinking about it or are a bit undeceided I would recommend going to your local Optical Express store and just having a chat with the staff.

I popped in to this optician a month ago to see if they could repair my sunglasses which had lost a tiny screw. A very nice young man repaired them for me in two minutes at no charge. I had previously gone into the optician two doors away who questioned me about whether I’d bought the glasses from them or one of their branches. Because I hadn’t, they refused to fix them. Visited Optical Express York yesterday to have a missing nose pad replaced. Craig replaced both pads with silicone pads - much more comfortable than before and no charge. I have always used Optical Express for my sight test and spectacles. I wear varifocal lens and smashed my current pair of glasses when I tripped and fell injuring my face on Friday 15 march. Once the swelling of my face subsided I went into the York store in Parliament street (Tuesday 26 March) and Kiel, a member of staff could not have been more helpful. As I would have been due an annual eye test in April anyway he arranged a full eye test and health scan for 09.50 Wednesday 27 March. Kiel had assessed the damage to my glassess and determined that I just needed new lenses. The optician checked my eyesight , my lens were ordered and the eyetest and scan results were emailed to me later that day. Excellent service, a great deal of sympathy and skill I would readily recommend Optical Express to everyone needing eyecare. Kiel is a credit to the York store.
