Been coming here for myself and my son for a good 6-7 years . Brilliant service everytime . They really have helped my son here who has never liked wearing his glasses by giving him contacts since he turned 10 which has given him a huge boost in confidence . It was a good experience, friendly helpful and professional staff. This included all the staff from eye test, selection of frames to collection and fitting. I've needed glasses for 52 years and this was probably my best such experience. The eye test was booked online, the day before, for a Saturday appointment. I would go back...

Absolutely fantastic service. I had personally run out of contact lenses as i normally collect in-store. But due to the current situation with covid19 the store was obviously shut. One phone call and i was due to collect some in a couple of days time. Which was great. I then received a phone call the next day to say they had a box (lenses) an i could collect 20mins later. Unfortunately i couldn't. The great young lady then offered to drop them off on her way home. Social distancing obviously. What an absolutely great kind gesture. Fair to say the lady will be getting some flowers when this is all over. Many many thanks specsavers and your devoted kind, generous staff 👏👏👏

Sometimes less is more! For example, it's good to have well informed staff, but I like to be able to make my own decisions about how glasses look. I dont need someone to hold my hand and tell me I look great in every pair, I just want to be left to it. But they were very helpful with the things I needed.

Local within walking distance. (Parking is always a problem in Acomb). Good service, staff helpful with a good selection including designer brands. Can be expensive if you agree to add extras to glasses, like anti-glare.

Specsavers in Acomb are excellent, their staff are all professional and very friendly. When you’re being seen they treat you with respect and answer all your questions honestly. In particular they are very good at advising on suitable frames for you and not afraid to be honest and say when something doesn’t suit you. I’d recommend them for anyone.
