Fantastic staff, very welcoming with my 13 year old son give brilliant advice and help my son find the right pair of glasses as he wanted a designer pair they helped us pick the right ones for him with a 90pound discount.

Been my opticians for years (god bless you 2 for 1 glasses!!) but overall their service is amazing. Also highly recommend paying the extra £10 for an OCT scan - all other tests came back normal but an anomaly was spotted on the OCT. 24hrs later my referral to York Hospital eye clinic came through and had more scans and there's something going on in my eye after more in depth scans and I'm awaiting more tests. That OCT scan is well worth the money for peace of mind if anything. I only had minor symptoms as well and if I hadn't had it, I'd have walked away oblivious. So yeah, pay for the OCT scan - it saves eyes.

Perfect experience! My mum and I both had appoinments today and came to choose new glasses. A young gentleman came to help us both to decide which frames to choose and he was so kind and friendly and was so well spoken! He seemed very experienced and advised on what suited me best and it was very refreshing to talk to someone who knew what they were doing! After leaving extremely satisfied with our visit, I actually rang the store to get his name to mention in this review as he was so helpful. So a huge thank you to Kieran P for his assistance!

Hi there, sorry I hadn't posted a review yet. I wanted to update my specs as my old ones were small and unfashionable. At my initial appointment with Kirsty, who was very friendly and helpful, I settled on an up-to-date frame with extra-thin varifocal lenses. When I went back later to collect them, I was amazed at how slim the lenses were - my prescription is VERY strong and I'd expected more of the lenses to protrude from the frame; instead, there was hardly any! I was told it might take a couple of weeks to get used to my varifocals but when I first put them on, they felt like old friends. Now I love my new specs and actually think I look better with them than without them - so my self-confidence has improved, as well as my eyesight! Thank you so much.

I visited this store 3 times last month to have my glasses repaired. The staff were friendly and helpful. The last time I visited I had Simone who was super friendly and professional. After I explained what happened to my glasses that were not purchased by them, she was very comprehensive and professional, giving me some very useful advice regarding how to look after my eyes, such a lovely and pretty lady!

This is the best Specsavers branch that I have ever been to. I’d previously been to Boots & had a bad experience so wasn’t looking forward to my appointment. I had no need to worry though, My eye test was quick, efficient & the optician was friendly. Ordered 2 sets of glasses using their 241 offer & was given lots of help & advice by a welcoming young lady (I think her name was Victoria). She was very knowledgable, informed me about all the offers & picked out some glasses that I really liked. She even worked out the best price possible for me & didn’t try to sell me all the expensive stuff! When I came to collect my glasses a week later I got Victoria again. She was just as helpful then & made it so my new glasses fit me perfectly. She also informed me about my guarantees & that I could come back anytime if they became loose. Thanks for such wonderful customer service & I will be getting my glasses here from now on.

I have been going here since I have been wearing glasses recently got some new ones nice shades of purple and blue £25.00p and free voucher for test and lens bargain these are the glasses I got plus they do a thorough eye tests etc to make sure you don't have any further problems and thanks to specs avers a few years ago they spotted I got diabetic retinopathy and sent my information to the eye clinic at york district hospital I'm still having on going treatment for it but thank-you specsavers saved my eyesight in one eye 👁‍🗨 great service and I will always stay with them. 👁️‍🗨️👁️‍🗨️

High street location, obviously no parking but Castle car park is close by. Good staffing level, professional and helpful. Waited less than 4 minutes to be seen and made to feel at ease during test. I could see surfaces had been sanitised between customers, including the chair l sat on. Good visit, recommend.

Great attention given to ensuring the safety of staff and customers in a difficult environment. Staff are always polite and helpful. Collection of glasses can be by having them mailed to your home, pick up from the door of the shop, or in-store if you prefer to ensure they fit well. All in all, as pleasant an experience as it could be.

From the start of my appointment until the end, the staff could not have been nicer. There are Covid secure measures in place, but these were explained as we went along, and were never onerous. A particular shout-out to Jasmine (I hope I remembered her name correctly), who helped me choose two different frames, and was endlessly patient, while offering constructive advice on what suited and what didn't. The Buy One, Get One Free offer seems to be more or less a permanent thing, so I was also able to have a new pair of very stylish, Hugo Boss prescription sunglasses, which look great! Based on this experience, I wouldn't hesitate recommending them to anyone, and they fully deserve their 5* rating.

A lot more expensive than you realise for example glasses are pretty pointless without anti glare for me but this is an extra £35 per pair. Last time I went I believe it was £10. Great customer service tho always friendly

So I went in as I've been dealing with dizziness and vision has been not right , I was worried and needed an emergency appointment , the lady on the phone was fantastic asked my symptoms and went right away to the optician and they said yes get in as soon as you can, I was worried as to what they would find but they put me at ease and made me feel relaxed and comfortable..they did every test they could to check all things and thats just amazing and the price was fantastic. The optician was very helpful during the examination as I had an issue with one of my eyes. The assistant who helped with my frames was exceptional, so patient and helpful. Despite Covid restrictions she spent time making sure I was happy with my frames, her name is Jasmine and her customer skills are first class.

Great service, Speedy turnaround. Walked into this Specsavers on a Saturday, they called through to the Specsavers where I'd had my eyes tested (as I'd forgotten my prescription) and got my glasses ordered so they'd arrive the next day. Walked into the store on Sunday at 12 and was served straight away. Glasses looked great and final adjustments were made quickly. I was really happy with the service and friendly people on both occasions. Thank you!

Lovely staff... I was having trouble with my old contact lenses not being kept in stock, so the contact lens specialist was really consultative in understanding how and when I use contacts to determine what the best product would be for me (and it wasn’t the most expensive). I really felt looked after both through the sight test and contact lens check.

I went to Specsavers with a prescription from another opticians after being quoted over £600 for a pair of varifocal glasses & a pair of varifocal sunglasses, I got quick efficient service and a week later I had the 2pairs for £327. A couple of months later I went back with a problem with my left eye, I had what I thought was a spot or bite on my eyelid which pressed on my eye & caused double vision. I got an appointment for the next day with an optician who examined my eye thoroughly & tested the vision, he told me I had a condition called meibomian gland dysfunction which is blocked glands in the eyelid, so he told me to bathe it for 5 mins 3times a day, I am still doing this & it is slowly getting better & if it hasn't cleared in 3 months I will be referred to a specialist at the hospital. So it's all positive & put my mind at rest.

Purely based on the initial visit, the staff were friendly and efficient though I felt sorry for them in their starchy, formal uniforms I feel a more relaxed and less 'Bank Clerk' appearance would be beneficial. The test was efficient and the advice given after the test was most informative and interesting. The sales afterward left me a bit shaken, despite going for a ' 2 for 1' offer and knowing how important my glasses are to me for my work and leisure activities, I found myself 'sold up' to an incredible price! My wife made the comment that they are the Ryanair of the the Opticians world. Given how long my last two pairs have lasted me, 11 years, I can only pray that these have the same longevity. I will now have to wait a week for them to be ready. All I can now say is "watch this space"

My experience with specsavers york was completely different than the horrific experience in camden. The only hiccup was they needed me to come in a 2nd time for the contact part of the exam because of the web reservation but that was no biggie. The staff was lovely and my glasses arrived in 2 days!
