New glasses and sunglasses from York Vangarde and I have been very pleased with them. They fit well and and are comfortable to wear. The shop was always very busy when I was there but the staff seemed to be coping well. The optician was very good and helpful. She discussed the photographs of the interior of my eyes and was very informative. The glasses were ready when they said they would be. Seemed good value for money. A useful tip they gave me was not to wash the lenses in washing up liquid to avoid scratches. I purchased a bottle of special cleaning fluid and it works well.

My partner and myself went to the Vanguard centre for our eyes testing. Was a very precise and thorough service had by all the staff there. All was controlled well. Covid restrictions in place. Masks worn. All felt safe and planned out. Staff were all helpful and kind and had a smile all kind helpful

Never worn glasses. Had a mediocre expectation based on high street experiences like Boots., etc..... However, they blew me away..... simple booking, lovely greeting, structures service and low waiting times. the Optometrist was so thorough, calm, communicative. Staff in-store were really efficient, helpful and where less experienced staff were involved they were supported by more experienced colleagues. My return visit to pick up my first ever pair of reading glasses was dealt with wonderfully by their in-store trainer who took me through everything and made minor adjustments to suit in no time at all. First class, well done Specsavers!

Previously I have been very happy with Specsavers but I recently collected some prescription sunglasses. I was told they were not the frames on display which fit me perfectly but another pair. They were way too big. The assistant took a great deal of time trying to get them to fit. I have had them three weeks and tried wearing them on my holiday of one week but they just kept falling down. I feel they are just too big and heavy altogether. Disappointed with them.

Eye test fine the optician was very informative and helpful. The team at front of house not so helpful was kept waiting for eye fitting of 2 new pairs. When asked when I was going to be served asked to go & wait again, although they were serving customers who were 45 mins early for an appointment. Ended up walking out without glasses as couldn’t wait another 20mins. If booking avoid weekends

Fantastic customer service from the moment of stepping inside. The lady who did all the testing on my eyes was very friendly and polite and explained everything she was about to do and made me feel very comfortable I can't remember her name has slights Irish accent I think, Emma who took me to try some frames and take payment was also very friendly and polite also explained everything in detail. Very well organised. Very well equipped. You are not required to wear a mask at the moment as the staff are in full PPE but you are required to stand in line outside until dieected in by staff. I would have expected a more thorough eye examination but photos, ,scans and pressure tests of my eyes were taken before I saw the optition. A good range of glasses on offer and attentive personal service from the staff.
