Great little railway tucked away off the main road. Take a miniature train to depart from Haynes End up to Hammer Hill to see even more trains.
A fantastic little gem enjoyed by all the family, especially the little ones. Full of enthusiastic members and volunteers.
Check their website for open days as they’re not open everyday.
Nice little cafe serving tea/coffee and snacks. Unfortunately, when we were there (sept 2021) they couldn’t serve sandwiches, meals, etc.

Best place x
such a lovely team of staff that all volunteer through their passion of modelling/minuture railway's.
Lot's of places to picnic there's toilets and one end the other end there isit toilets but it's fine!
There's a cafe some days with limited catering again just check online prior to going..
You can ride all three trains with return trip for 5 pounds a person which is ridiculously cheap for how much the kids love it..
They don't run every day so check online what day's are public running day's.
Beautiful place x

It's run by some lovely volunteers, they are extremely busy on the open days, it's very popular & parking can be a mare at times, well worth a visit with the youngsters for an inexpensive time or with the little ones. One tip I would give is take a picnic, unless you like sausage rolls.

What a surprise this place was - fun small trains of various types to ride and smaller ones to watch in a really nicely planned setting, and the bonus - it's not expensive!

Very friendly staff. 3 railways connected at one station. Proper terminus in the main field with full canopy. Train takes you to the other two ride on railways where there is an interchange station.

Excellent! Very well managed and lovely atmosphere. Brilliant staff.
2 metre spacer bars fitted between carriages and one family per carriage - all felt very safely run. Cleaning in between uses.
The trains do one long journey around all the track there which took about 15 minutes. I actually prefer the single longer journey than having lots of shorter routes.
Good picnic benches that are very generously spaced out at the cafe by the car park.
Thank you to all the great volunteers, a lovely afternoon out.

Brilliant little miniature railway. My 18month old son loved riding all the trains.

Children who like trains and model engineers will love this place. All the team are train mad, very friendly and accommodating. Adults can enjoy a couple of hours watching the children enjoy themselves and even have a ride or two themselves. Granddad's take you young grandchildren they will remember it for ever especially if it's a steam engine that pulls the train!

I have always loved going here. The staff are friendly and fantastic with children, especially those with additional needs.

Very friendly, caring and social distancing. Beautiful afternoon out, we all enjoyed the train ride,. Then a picnic ( provided by me ) cup of tea and shortbread, Kids had icecream provided by them

Lovely miniature trains and truly wonderful volunteers who run them. Always happy to help, answer questions and make you feel welcome! Great experience for 5-7 year old kids.
P. S.
This is an excellent place for a family visit. The ticket price gets you a ride down the main line to the larger track area with models of all shapes and sizes to see and ride on. Then when you get back, a friendly and spacious tea room with traditional offerings. The staff/volunteers were really enthusiastic and happy to chat to our kids. All adds up to an interesting and entertaining day out for only a few pounds. It's open everyday though so check the running times.

We had the pleasure of being able to visit the Summerfield Miniature Railway on Sunday last.
This was an out of season visit as our 4 year old grandson from Canada was with us, who was keen to enjoy the opportunity to indulge in his love of trains.
We were so well accommodated by the warm and friendly volunteers, who made us so welcome on a very windy day.
Each one is obviously passionate about their railway and saw it as no problem at all to see that we had a really great experience.
For them to go out of their way was so impressive and we were so grateful to them all. We even got a hot cuppa to warm up with at the end of the trip in the comfortable club house! We will be back when the season opens for sure!!

Can't really fault this cute and quaint miniature railway. Very child friendly, welcoming and friendly staff, nice cabin for tea and cake but picnics welcome on their tables outside. Steam and diesel engines.
Toilets on site and a baby change unit.
No cards accepted so take cash. £2 return trip from over 2 yrs. Free under 2. £1 for 2 laps around a second loop track.
Dogs also welcome on site.

A super (and previously undiscovered!) gem. A lovely little setup that our little-one enjoyed immensely. Great effort by all the volunteers to put in place very sensible covid arrangements and excellent value. We look forward to going back again!

Spent a sunny Saturday afternoon here with my daughter and grandson. A really enjoyable experience. Reasonably priced rides on the trains and a lovely cafe to buy drinks and snacks. Run by enthusiasts who genuinely seem to enjoy sharing their passion. Will definitely visit again.

Terrific experience. Wonderful volunteers made our visit truly memorable. All Covid preparations securely in place. If you like trains you'll love it at Summerfields.

This is a great miniature railway with multiple lines. The staff are amazing and all extremely friendly and helpful.
We have even organized or sons birthday party here and they ran one of the trains for us on a non-public running day (it was so good we have organised my other sons birthday here too, can't wait!).
They usually have a guy running a bouncy castle out front with a few other stalls. The prizes on the stalls are better than most places and the bouncy castle fee is very reasonable.
I fully recommend this as a place to go for a morning and/or afternoon of fun for the family!
J. M.
What a great family adventure. My sons and husband loved it. Even we caught little rain we had lots of fun. Everybody was very friedly and perfect with children. We will definetely visit soon again.
A. S.
Fantastic place, the kids absolutely love it. And it's really cheap too. Freindly staff and great little trains that can all be ridden. Also the trains run very often so not too much waiting around.
K. N.
Very friendly, welcoming, happy place, despite the cold Spring winds on the day we visited. Cosy, good value, Station Buffet, plus lots of picnic tables outside.
Lots to see and great for children.
A. G.
They are public running with pre booked trains running every 6 mins. They have modified their trains to give passengers a 2mtr space between them and the drivers. Every carriage is thoroughly sanitised after every journey and done in front of everyone. They have shown us how things can be adapted to provide a social gathering in safety. We were not allowed to get off the train at Hammer Hill, as usual, so the trip includes 3 complete circuits which let's you see all the railway circuits. Well done the volunteers at Summerfield Railway.

A lovely morning out for me and my little one! She absolutely loved it (and so did I!)
You pay at the station for a return ticket (£2 at time of visit) and and board a minature train to the next station. For another £1 you get two trips around two additional tracks located at the second station site. At this site there is a small picnic area and an outdoor train set to watch as you eat lunch.
My only criticism was lack of toilet at the furthest station, meaning you needed to return to the main site. The issue with this during my visit was that it was busy and I needed to wait for two trains before getting back. I was busting! Just be prepared and you will have no issues!
P. N.
Lovely railway, the miniature trains are ride on, some are steam others diesel. All run by the club, not run for profit. Great children's day out when they are having a running day.
P. L.
An excellent place for a full days entertainment for children and old uns who are still young at heart and still love playing trains. Nostalgia encapsulated. Working steam train and diesel electric engines all In miniature for everyone to ride on. Visiting recommended
D. H.
Spent an excellent couple of hours here with my family. Reasonably priced, and as it is run by hobbyists they're happy to go the extra mile for you (literally in our case, we had a free ride!) and answer your questions. Recommended.

My eldest (6) is massively into trains and this has to be one of the best minature railways we've taken him to, possibly the best actually. The main track is a good size (I often find your off again before you're even on with others we've been to) and then another two smaller tracks to ride and minatures to watch as well is really great! All the people here running the trains and tea rooms are lovely and super friendly. Can't recommend it enough and we'll be back next year for sure!

(Translated) A great attraction and even more wonderful people. Five stars are not enough.
