s. w.I've been using this Cinema for years.
Staff are always very good and the place is kept spotless.
Sound, screens and seats are all fantastic.
Most screens are now fully VIP with electric seats.
Parking is also good and FREE.
T. D.Located in an area accessible by public transport with excellent parking facilities and family friendly restaurants and fast food.
The vip screens are incredibly comfortable, the seats are staggered in such a way that everyone should be able to see but if not, plenty of booster seats. Clean accessibile toilets. Decent selection of treats and snacks which are as expensive as you'd expect in a cinema.
E. R.I visited the Movie House today to see the film Lyra. I bought my ticket when I arrived at the cinema. The seats were very comfortable. I always enjoy a visit to the Movie House, although I miss the Dublin Road Movie House, which was our local one, spent many happy hours there with my family.

Wasn't to busy as the movie had multiple screens showing it. Clean looking cinema .Toilet door locks where broken so basically 3 toilets
E.Watched black Adam and it was amazing, Only 7 quid for VIP seating which has reclinable chairs and a usb plug for charging. Snacks are still expensive like crazy.
H. T.Handy spot because I only live up the road. Only 2 things did annoy me. I was sat behind the recliner chairs and the guy who sat in front of me had put his seat back which left no room for my legs and I had to move. He was that close I could smell his scalp it wasn't nice at all. Then 4 drunk people came in and sat beside me and they were up and down the entire film and I had to stand up each time. The smell of drink off the woman beside me made me move seats, again!! 5 star only because the film was good. Popcorn has gone downhill a bit 🤔 was really looking forward to it as I hadn't been to the cinema from before the pandemic. Put half a bag popcorn into the bin.
J. M.This is a nice cinema. It has recliner chairs so seats are very comfortable. Staff are friendly. Good place to go with family and friends. It has cheaper price on Tuesdays also so possibly best day to go, but in general more of crowd on Tuesdays.
K.Seating was comfortable and plenty of room per seat. 2 stations to get snacks and drinks. Employee shows you to seat. Seating is well arranged. Well priced in comparison to the rest of Belfast.
Staff were excellent also.

T. C.Been twice recently to the VIP seats at Movie House City Side. First to see Spider-Man and then Lion King. I was very impressed by the VIP seating, definitely better for me due to having fibromyalgia and a bad back. It made going to the cinema a much more pleasurable experience.
My only concern would be that it got very cold both times - possibly because it wasn’t a packed room. Also at Lion King there were too many toddlers running around (x3 right beside us) 2hr film is not suitable for that age group so it ruined the experience for us with what should have been an epic movie. We were there with a 6 year old.
It won’t put me off going again but I would like to see parents with small children reconsider whether or not it’s fair for other people who have paid to deal with your child running up and down the aisle, screaming and chattering and interrupting and disturbing other people while you do nothing :(

J. A.Great afternoon out, especially for a wet miserable Tuesday. Cheepy Tuesday is a great day to go to the cinema!! If you have time and it's your day off, would highly recommend. Just pre book if u can !! Only £5.50. Just saw TopGun, Maverick !!! Just remember ,upstairs shop not opened, unless you like the exercise of going up and down those stairs!!!! Lol buy when u go in !!! Really enjoyable, comfy, relaxed afternoon was had by all !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just make sure you book a vip seating so you get reclining chairs.
As if you just book a movie you might be stuck unfortunately with the old school seats n they're quite uncomfortable.

M. B.Great theatre experience. The VIP theatre seats are just awesome, thus highly recommend to go for a VIP screening. The screen is tidy and of good quality. Unfortunately there is no IMAX. The snacks are good and not overpriced. The theaters are heated so it's warm inside.

S. K.My favourite cinema i wouldn't go anywhere else. Vip family pass Is only £20 two kids and two adults can't be beat and you get the electronic recliner leather sofa seats comfort is world class for the same price no extra cost unlike others. Massive room so plenty of option for seats and instead of running downstairs there is an upstairs shop and toilets. Adult ticket is only £7 and it's like £6 for a child if you have less that 4. Icing on the cake is that yorkgate has a burger King and a big car park which is free.
T. C. (. C.Best cinema in town. However I never go here after 5pm as it can get very busy. I much prefer afternoons especially in the dar days of winter. The screening rooms are well maintained, clean and the screens for most part are themselves are Vast with an amazing sound system . Look out for VIP screening

There is a person who guides you to your seat.... Very impressive as they seem to know how to seat people so that others aren't beside you! K. M.Just had a fab wee birthday party for our little girl here- the kids loved the VIP seats and had a brilliant time. Staff were lovely and accommodating and everything clean and hand sanitizer stations good. Kids liked the temperature scanner at the front- luckily they were all declared 'safe'. Only draw back was no sitting in at Burger King or Subway and mall security guard gave out to us for eating our takeaway in the mall. But cinema was excellent and apparently there is seating across the street at KFC.

L. M.Love the new VIP screening at Movie House Cinema City Side. Prices for VIP seem to be cheaper for a day showings, which is great when bringing kids to a VIP movie. An ATM is available downstairs but card is accepted here. Staff have always been helpful and free parking is available. Note: Be careful not to park in disabled bays or on pavements when the car park is busy as I have seen people get tickets by a privately run company who will hound you for payment. Signs are not obvious that ticketing is enforced.

M.It's reopened and so far I've seen Spiral (drivel, not really a Saw movie as there is no real possibility of surviving the traps) and A Quiet Place Part 2 (loved, but then again Cillian 'Peaky Blinders' Murphy is almost the lead actor). Prices seem to have gone up post lockdown but I suppose they are trying to make up for the empty seats. Get there early as there was a queue both times for Covid temperature tests. And if you don't like people ignoring the mask requirement while waiting don't go at all because there is no enforcement by security. Movies are back!

C. J.I remember as a child in the mid 90's waking up on a Saturday morning to the TV programme 'Movies, games and videos' which gave you the latest film previews for the week ahead. Then jumping on the no.35 bus to Yorkgate to watch a film. Such fond memories. Sometimes you could sneak in the exit door if a paying mate held it open from the inside. They've the nicest popcorn too. In my opinion the Movie House sets the standard in the whole of Belfast and beyond. Well worth a visit.

T. B.Clean enough. Toilets are a bit wiffy as always but they have recently been done up with updated hand dryers as well. They've now added more toilets (now 7 as opposed to 5). No comment on staff, they're just your average staff. They do Ben and Jerry's, Pick & Mix and your normal everyday sweets and drinks you'd get at the cinema. All together, nice enough place and it's where I usually go when I go to the cinema.
J. C.Hard to get in and out if you have bad knees. Lots of stairs to get up to the screens. Saying that screening rooms are fine. Just can't believe how people trash the place with their rubbish. Have a bit more respect - you wouldn't throw empty cartons and bags in your own house-disgusting. And listening to people crunch and rattle their way through crisps spoils the film. Sorry but I don't pay money to have to hear the slurps,rattles and crunches - only the film. Rant over!!
H.Movie prices are decent, snacks typically expensive. Free parking for the area just outside with the cinema at the top, with some stairs to climb to get to the screens.

C. V.Love Movie House Yorkgate! It's attractive, clean, modern and has loads of screens which means more choice in movie's. Oh did I mention they have VIP recliner chairs!! So comfortable and relaxing I don't go anywhere else now. Love this cinema ever since it first open.

R. S.Been a long time from I've been to Movie House Cityside as felt the facilities had deteriorated. However had a great experience tonight at VIP cinema 3 for Downton Abbey movie. Chairs are so comfortable which made the evening so more relaxing and enjoyable. All staff were so nice and courteous. Felt like a brand new complex. Will definitely be using Cityside in the future
S. S.Nice clean cinema but the lift is kept locked which is a nusciance for people who can't manage the many many stairs leading up to the theatre screens. With tickets bought online I was sent up and down the massive flight of stairs with inexperienced younger staff members not knowing where to send me to collect my ticket.

K.It seems to be a bit cheaper than the other Cinemas, the advantage of this location you would think is the ample parking, however the closet spots are almost certainly gone by the time you get there, so get their early. Something like 10 screens in the place, with confectionery available on both floors, so you dont have to queue for it downstairs. Use the ticket collection for speedy entrance.

D. M.This place has everything. As this is of the cinema only gotta say...free parking, safe, reasonable price and good size screens. My favourite cinema in Belfast. It may be argueable the Odeon has higher resolution screens and I think it does. I still go here more often. Odeon a lot more expensive and if you use Victoria Square car park you have to pay.
