Reviews of Cineworld - Belfast
Generally prefer Odyssey due to their loyalty card and decent offers. The staff generally are very friendly and know what they are doing but have had some bad experiences which were quickly rectified and keeps me coming back. Love the VIP screens which are worth the money if you take advantages of the free parking and drink and popcorn upgrades!
IMAX was incredible, a genuinely immense experience watching Spider-Man on this colossal screen, well worth the 15 quid. The place overall was very well run and staff were friendly, making for a smooth and easy experience for a newbie to this redesigned building, which looked very nice as well and was very clean. Just an overall great new cinema addition to Belfast, and I look forward to future trips here
Very reasonably priced. I attended the VIP screen and it is so luxurious. Comfortable leather recliners mean you can pretty much lie down while watching the movie, and the seats are boxed off from each other in groups of 2 or 3, offering privacy to relax and enjoy the show
Seats are nice and comfortable in the normal cinema with plenty of leg room and the seats recline, can't wait to try the IMAX at some point too! Massive big area so dosent get too busy. Was a bit of a wait for the food but sure they play about 30mins of adds before the movie even starts so it's all good. Great overall cinema!
Great, new, state of the art facilities and technology. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful foyer space. BUT, make sure you bring your coat and scarf because the theatres are very cold! The overall experience is spoiled by this one factor - to the extent that I'll be avoiding this cinema for the coldest six months of the year. Hopefully, they'll get it fixed soon. I'll be watching the reviews!
Friendly staff and the seating in screen 2 was really comfy! The back of the seats reclined and there was plenty of legroom.
This is also a venue with a bowling alley, restaurants, concerts and an kids interactive area.
The cinema is great
Especially if you go vip which provides great recliner seats
First time at cine world. My overall experience is good. Watched a non English flick at IMAX. Theater experience was fabulous. I expected, a much more comfortable seating. Theater was spick and span.
If you love to see your films at the cinema then this is the premier choice. The seats are great, the screen is crisp and clear, the sound is fantastic. Also, the IMAX screen is amazing and well worth seeing a blockbuster in. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. You can also get free parking if you get your ticket validated.
The lobby area and corridors were freezing and the facilities are dated. The screen itself was heated quite well. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie I went to see (The Irishman) and I paid extra for the VIP, whilst I found the seats to be comfortable for the 3 hour 30 mins film, the whole VIP experience was a far cry from some of the bigger competitors.
You'll find me here at least twice a week usually three to be honest. It's my home away from home.
The unlimited card is fantastic for locals to use. The cinema has a large imax, and a variety of screen sizes as well as validated parking!
The food is terrible, but I'm told that's because I'm used to the Australian cinemas we're you can get things better than plain nachos and a plain hotdog.
The signs downstairs have been promising more shops at the Odyssey for over a year now so who knows if or when it'll ever happen.
Whether you enjoy your time at the cinema with friends, family or by yourself, Cineworld in Belfast is a great place to go.
I went for the Vip experience. Other than being so far away from your partner it really is lovely. I didn't see the place with the lights on mind you so have no idea how clean and lively it was or wasn't. The offers on the popcorn etc are very good as is the drink reception are. Provided you arrive in enough time
Expensive, but everything is. 2D Max and Imax are awesome experiences , 4D Max be prepared for more a fairground experience but worth it just not for the young or old. Free Car Parking remember to get ticket validated in the lobby. Avoid EVENT nights in SSE. A must see experience..
Great experience lovely staff.great snack
Been a couple of times recently. We're usually quite late at getting round to seeing movies, in fact most other cinemas have usually stopped playing them by the time we do. This has meant that we've usually had the screening to ourselves which I prefer, especially when bringing children. We've always had a great time. Decent selection of snacks and fairly reasonable prices with a few offers available for food and parking.
Love the VIP area I do enjoy that and 15 quid a ticket may seem expensive but for free parking, popcorn and a drink balances out. However the main screens the seats are tired or heavily stained and well used and so are the carpets could do with money invested into it and it could be an amazing cinema once again.
Have always enjoyed my experiences in the odyssey cinema, been going there since I was a kid, going and seeing movies with my parents. There is always a nice, calming and comfortable atmosphere, the staff are lovely and they always have a great choice of movies on. My friends and I always go here to see our favourite movies, and long awaited new ones, so I would recommend going here if you haven't been yet, I definitely visit regularly.
We booked a screen for private showing of How to Train Your Dragon for those of us who were lucky enough to be on it. So we could shout and roar when we saw ourselves on screen! Started on time. Didn't mind us standing on the stairs taking photos. Lovely staff.
I attended the Belfast Film Festival two weeks ago. The halls are very hot. If it's cold outside, it's very comfortable inside. You can buy ice cream, popcorn, drinks. I really liked it!
The tills are a bit slow, they do have an online service for printing you tickets, if your not getting extras I would highly recommend doing it this way. Seats are comfortable and the pricing with the membership+right day it really is affordable. I got free parking aswell which was very handy indeed
This is my favourite cinema in Belfast. The screens are excellent, plenty of selection and there is usually an offer on for the tickets. Loyalty points can be built up and used as cash for snack and drinks (1 point = a penny, so 100 points = £1.00). The VIP deal is brilliant, £15 for a reserved leather recliner with fewer people in the screen, small drink, small popcorn, and free parking. Not an everyday option, but great for a movie you have been looking forward to.
Hard to beat cinema. Competitive prices and loyalty card. The decor may be dated and the Odyssey itself very quiet, but we like the staff and experience. They remain unique and have more personality that the big chain cinemas, with themed movie nights and often have their own decor/displays.
Odyssey or SSE has really gone down hill in recent times. The place is grim to walk through as nearly every unit is closed. The cinema is keeping the place going. Only use the VIP which is comfortable and a pleasure to use. Staff are friendly and welcoming just a shame about refills are not included with a VIP ticket anymore.
Love Odyssey Cinema, my go to cinema. You get more with your snacks and drinks that you get in any other cinema and they offer free refills with the Large Combos. The cinema is clean and they offer different tiers such as VIP Showings with recliners and premium seating in some of their screens. The cinema is clean and the staff are friendly, they also hold family fun events for certain showings. There is plenty of parking and if you get the VIP ticket, you get your parking free
I love the new look of the cinema and the staff I found to be pleasant and helpful. Love the Lavazza layout and the new seating arrangement. I went to see Top Gun in Screen X and enjoyed the experience. Temperature was ok but could be a bit cooler. Also love the fact that you can get 4 hours free parking with a validated cinema ticket. Things to improve upon include having staff regularly check screens for people being asshats and playing on their phones when the movie on, and perhaps to fill blank spaces on walls where foyer seating is with movie memorabilia or posters etc. Things I dont like is the ridiculous entry fee for the cinema. Itll prob put me right off selecting Cineworld to watch movies in the future. I think Ill stick with Movie House.
Best cinema in Belfast at the moment in terms of price vs experience. Some days are super cheap and special screenings of old movies that are often played are fantastic to see. IMAX screen is great. I'm not one for 4DX or screen X but from what I've heard, the experience is great for those who want it.
Free parking is always a bonus.
Covid checks good, tickets and snacks expensive, Spider-man screening at least 15 minutes late starting, temperature in Screen 8 uncomfortably low - had to put coat back on half way through. Comfortable seat. Good film, though.
Best Cinema in Belfast.
The seats are the most comfortable seats around, the drink sizes are like American sizes and great value.
The VIP experience is simply the best! A big comfy leather lazy boy recliner with a drink, popcorn & parking included? Why wouldn't you 😁.
Love this cinema. 4D is the future of film. Or just enjoy a normal showing in VIP. One negative the nacho cheese is horrible and snacks overpriced, but the coffee bar is great and definitely Belfasts best cinema !
Good spot for a cinema, the VIP screens are great and extremely comfortable. The concessions stand is big with lots of choice and mo more expensive than your average cinema, bit they do offer bundles for a bit of value. Quite quiet on weekdays which is great if you can get here then.
VIP yes expensive but the best way to watch a movie. Recliner sofa sits with wall behind every sofa for privacy n comfort. They have 2 holders in between for drinks n popcorn. Unlimited refills on popcorn n drinks inc coffee n tea in the price. Kick the shoes off n enjoy no screaming kids lol just peace n quiet. Approx for Large popcorn n 2 large drinks n 2 adult tickets £35 r so.
Loved Odyssey cinema... Defo a step down from the independent feel it previously had.
But now a very nice modern feel!
The IMAX is usually freezing cold though.
The seats are lovely and comfortable, they recline!! 😍
Went to Belfast IMAX here for first time.(having been to a number of others) Screen quality wasn't great and found some of the scene's where things were going over your head lacked depth in sound quality compared to others I've been to. Not the best quality for patron's in NI tbh. Much better in others I've been to tbh. Overall was OK and still better than normal 2D offerings.
Love this place. Very good ambience. Matter of fact is they have directly brought Indian regional cinemas to Belfast. Which was not the case before. Prices are bit high compared to other cinema houses. But I presume that's ok.
Went with my son to see wonka in 4dx screening it was good the way the seats moved the fans when it was cold it said there was water but didn't feel any water maybe it was because it was the late showing but great experience 👍
Very spacious and pleasant brilliant and nice sonic the hedgehog 3 merchandise comfy seats 5/5
The VIP experience is awesome and so worth £17 as your car parking is included in the price and the fact that the cinema now has 3D capability for the VIP area is awesome!
I would highly recommend anyone to go and check out the VIP experience if you want a nice treat.
Fantastic cinema I was in the 4d unreal!
I visit cine world at Belfast Sse arena with my child to watch MEG2 and I was with my 3 year old child. Before going to movie I ask one of the staff I think her name is roisan whether she could help me to take my popcorn and drink for me till the screen . He happily help me to do the service for me . I really appreciate the person . She is very polite and good heart person which keep Cineworlds name up always . Happy to see a staff like this nowadays who willing to work and give service with wholeheartedly.
Thanks you so much roisan and Cineworld . Always visit back.
It is a great cinema, but a cold air conditioning system made the experience awful, sat for 3 hours watching a movie with our coats on, and still was shivering. Decided to cancel my UNLIMITED subscription. Will not be going back to thar cinema again. There are other cimenas in Belfast.
The cinema is starting to feel tired. The seat arms are becoming saggy and have big indents in them. It's not awful yet, but unless the place is shown some love it soon will be. Not put off coming back yet, but it's certainly something that's on my mind. There's newer cinemas that, although not as convenient for parking, they are in better condition. The VIP option is still pretty good. Why does this country not have cinemas with in-seat ordering yet... Even via an app would be a cheap way in to that market... You're missing a trick here!
The seats are extremely comfortable and soft in the cinema. The movie screen is massive and visible from any seat (Personally I think that the middle seats are the best !!😃😆) You have to come here ! They have delicious restaurants and cafes. They also have W5 which is a wonderful world to let your kids explore! Enjoy!!!!
Hands down my favourite cinema in Belfast - have started going here more often because the programming seems so much better than other cinema's (Bangor/Dundonald etc.) - there's often multiple daily screenings of new releases which is very convenient.
I love the aesthetic, it's always clean and the staff are very friendly. Worth going VIP for the free parking - but you can still collect points on their loyalty card even if the screening isn't a premium one.
Ample Easy close parking. Great multi screen cinema with VIP area which is well worth paying the little extra for. Worth knowing if you buy VIP, the price includes your car park ticket so remember to take it with you.
The Cinema is probably one of the best in Belfast. The seats are very comfortable, the prices are reasonable, the food is good and the walking distance to each screen is not much. Only one problem, the movies I want to see sometimes are always on at terrible times, for example I wanted to see black panther and it was on at 10 in the morning and 8 at night.
VIP is a bit pricey but worth it for comfort. Plus you get free popcorn, drink and get to wait in the VIP lounge which I didn't even know existed until I went last. You even get a free coffee/ tea while you wait. Treated myself to a mocha ☕🤤
Loved the wrap around cinema experience. Seats are really comfy and plenty of room.
Bring a warm jacket as it gets cold watching a film the cold air conditioning is on even though its freezing outside
The Odyssey is always my first choice of cinema. It isn't my closest but I've always liked the screens best. The VIP package is great for a treat. Included in your luxury cinema screen experience, with limited seating (where you have your choice of seat when purchasing your ticket) you also get free pre or post show tea/coffee, free parking, free popcorn/nachos and a free drink. It's a great gift idea too for any film buff. See your movie in style at the Odyssey ...
It was good some facilities were improved, standard seats could have been much better.
I like the seats in Moviehouse the more coz you can recline it and there's enough space that those behind you cant put there feet up.
Some staff have a poor attitude, others are great. Depends on what shift you visit on I guess. I have had great times here and horrible times.
Unruly cinema patrons taking phone calls, talking, throwing popcorn and being rude are things you can expect. Staff told me "There isn't much we can do, why not change seats?" when reported.
They would rather that YOU sort it out by ignoring the situation than risk upsetting the people who have no regard for anyone else's experience. The manager though is a guy called Conor who goes above and beyond to attempt to resolve any issues you may have. If you visit and are unsatisfied, ask for Conor in person or email him when you get home.
Great experience in 4dx Highly recommended. Just one think in my case snowing machine not really quiet fan in it obstruct watching quiet badly 😄😄😄. Overall great any way can't wait for another movie.
IMAX was great. Clean cinema. good prices
The cinemas is a bit distinct place but they've very good ticket price deals on Mondays and Thursdays if you have an Xtra card, bowling alley and a pizza Hutt in the complex and ice hockey arena beside it.
It doesn't cost me anything and gets me the tickets for £3 on these 2 days plus you get a free refill on a large drink if you buy a large combo which no other cinemas in the city centre offer.
It has got its own perks and albeit a bit far from city centre it's a great walk by the river.
Definitely recommended.
Been coming to this cinema ever since it was the Storm Cinemas, that was like, 2005/2006 or something, idk, I think I went to see Cars there at the time. I’ve been coming here for years, I’ve seen loads of midnight events, Infinity War, Endgame, Justice League (not the Snyder Cut though, yikes) and The Last Jedi and it’s genuinely been the honor of a lifetime to see all my favorite films in this cinema, long may it continue ♥️
4dx isn't for me, was worth a go, but if I want to feel like someone is kicking the back of my seat for 2 hours I'll drive to Fermanagh with my kids in the back. Plus what the hell is wrong with your nacho cheese? It tasted like tomato, I had to double check the lid about 3x as I literally wasn't convinced. Plus only requested 3 pairs of 3d glasses and got 6? I dunno if we paid for them or included, but why would we order 6 pairs for 3 seats?
Nice place. Accessible, reasonably priced parking. Clean facilities. Comfortable seating.
Their Xtra Membership is free to join as well and offers some great benefits including discounts.
The wording on some of their offers need clarified, but it's nothing serious enough to put me off.
To be clear, we use the VIP theater regularly here, but do not attend other showings as we prefer having more space.
The VIP showings are worth the money, if you're a couple of adults going at any rate as you receive free popcorn and drink, as well as comfortable and clean seating. The screens are pretty large and clear, the only issue being some of the seats are poorly placed for the view.
I would not recommend buying food or snacks here as they are very expensive in comparison to the normal prices, though that's pretty normal for a cinema.
Cinemas selection is great 10+ screens I think.
Seats are a bit dated but provide ample space.
Sweets, popcorn and drinks are expensive as usual.
Medium coke and popcorn. 2 kids popcorn/drink/haribo tiny packet. Malteasers and wine gums (£5 for 2 packets of sweets is a deal). Anyways that came to £17.80 I think, Definitely over £17.
The VIP screens are the only way to watch a movie in my opinion! Smaller screens but also a smaller audience, meaning less noise. You get access to the coffee bar if you're there early and the drinks are free. As is parking at the Odyssey if you go VIP. Leather recliners, free drinks and parking, in a screening not filled with chavs and kids. Hard to beat.
Visited the IMAX to see Oppenheimer. The cinema is excellent but the film was not the best to show off the IMAX format. I would choose a better film (possibly in 3D) to see that format at its best next time.
The unlimited card is well worth it, especially the black one giving you around 25% off food and drink - the hotdogs are massive, so a large combo is great value for money. Occasionally, the hotdogs aren't on/aren't ready yet, and you'd think a bit of everything would be ready even for the first person through the doors that day.
Staff are generally friendly, though not always around to scan tickets and/or only one on serving, making things a little slow.
Lovely atmosphere, though, comfy seats, and screenX and iMax are great. Overall, I love coming here.
We went on a bank holiday which might explain the cold stale pop corn. But the screen we were in was quite cold which wasn't great. Other than that it's a good cinema the concession stand is reasonably priced for a cinema esp in city centre and the staff were really good.
Ireland's best cinema experience just got an upgrade!
While other cinemas have invested in VIP and reclining seating, Cineworld has invested in technology.
Despite liking a reclined seat, I much prefer the use of technology. IMAX, Screen X and 4DX are unique to this venue.
Improved projection, audio and extras delivers much more than the best of what others can offer.
Using UNLIMITED helps make the experience more affordable too.
Watched Star Wars Rogue One in the VIP screen, very comfortable chairs. The small walls in front of the screen are a bit annoying and obstruct you view. Cinema screen was nice and warm but the Odyssey itself was freezing and all the restaurants were closed. The place feels like a bit of a ghost town.
I love 4DX and Imax, it gives you a proper reason to see a movie in the cinema and have that excitement you had as a kid again. Also love the view and coffee from the lavazza. I have always preferred a coffee over a big fizzy drink and now I'm catered to.
Great 4DX experience but the IMAX was literally freezing and you could feel a draft. Could be better at managing queues though and the prices are a bit steep with near 50 quid for 2 people but it's still are nice experience
Great value for money with tesco vouchers. IMAX screen and seats are superb, very comfortable. Popcorn was fresh and delicious. Staff were attentive and friendly.
Saw the last jedi the day it came out. Affordable prices and excellent seating, very comfortable. Toilets aren't convenient to the screens or the entrance. Not too far from the city centre but not the most convenient for travelling to. Parking is paid and quite expensive.
VIP tickets are great, so comfortable, lots of space plus a small drink and popcorn included in price. Worth the money for a little bit of luxury. Especially for a 3 hour film
4DX exp deff worth going to, unfortunately both hotdogs and the nachos apparently ‘sold out’ ! ( even tho it was the 1st showing of the movie on that day in 4dx ! - This Really is Not gd enough in such a large cinema - Stock should be replenished daily before opening - this did put us off going back tbh - very disappointed as we went deliberately to get the hot food at lunchtime … )
A fantastic cinema. My go-to cinema in Belfast due to the good range of films and screening times, reasonable ticket and confectionery prices, comfortable seating and great quality sound and visuals. Parking is only £3 if you are just in for a film. The VIP experience is great too, with leather reclining sofas and free popcorn and drinks as well as free parking.
Great VIP experience
Went to see Guardians of the galaxy 2 in the VIP screen and have to say it was excellent. Not just the movie but the comfort, everything was great.
I had recently tried moviehouse dundonald and was thoroughly disappointed. The snack (Nachos) were extremely expensive and not half as nice as Odyssey's...
Even though the price is higher i really reccomend going to the VIP screens if you want to make that experience special.
Don't go for any less than VIP. It's initially expensive but honestly the best value for money. You get a free popcorn, free drink, entry to the directors lounge for free coffee and free parking! Plus much better seats.
Tom cruise here, avid cinema goer and actor. I really enjoyed this cinema, I wore a baseball cap so I wasn't recognised and put fake moustache on, totally fooled everyone. Thanks Belfast il be back with a different disguise.
My first time here and also my first time experiencing a movie in IMAX format (Tron Ares) which was thoroughly enjoyable. Very clean cinema and friendly/helpful staff throughout. Yes tickets + food are expensive but no surprises there.
However, the most disappointing part of it all was a full 31mins of adverts/ trailers which began at the time the movie was due to begin, completely inexcusable .... surely there is some sort of rules/ policy around this Cineworld?? Free car parking ticket appreciated but given I live 1hr from Belfast, this cinema experience will only be used for special occasions only.
Beautiful building. Seats are really comfortable..staff are helpful
The Odyssey building is quite run down and empty apart from a few units one being the cinema. The cinema itself is ok but could do with some updating and refurbishment. Overall the kids enjoyed the trip to the cinema
Where do I start, we booked vip tickets to see avengers, they let us take our burgers in with us, we were offered free hot drinks (opted for proper batista cappuccinos), popcorn and drinks. The nice lady behind the till told me coffee was unlimited and suggested we grab another cuppa after the movie. All on a friendly unpretentious atmosphere. Seats were comfy, couldn't fault cleanliness, screen, audio etc. Our new go to from now on. Definately recommend the vip package.
You need to check that there isn't a big show on at the arena or parking may be a problem. Last visit I was in screen 12 and there seemed to be a visible mark appearing on the screen during white scenes, it was very off putting. Otherwise very quick if you print out your ticket online.
Had the VIP experience this time round, when booking online for the VIP you get two options £15 for VIP experience or £17 for Xtra VIP experience both with the same out come small popcorn, small drink and free car parking if parked in the odyssey carpark doesn't say what the other two quid is for. When booking online you get the option to print of your ticket/s to save you time from standing in the queue but you still have to wait for your popcorn and drink at the same place. Watching the movie the fire exit area is lite up by a corridor with all its lights on as well as the exit sign within the VIP seating area, the sign is more than enough to lead the way out, need a door or curtains across the gap for a more cinema experience I had to seat with my leg up just blank out the light. The chairs are a pull cord recliner I believe are abit out dated for VIP area there's cinemas here in Belfast with electric recliners and alot more comfortable on the back, however there was loads of room and a storage area within the armrest for any valuables that may fall out of your pockets when seating down thought the volume was a tad too high yes I'm there for the picture and sound but at a couple of points in the movie I had to hold my ears closed it was one of the moments where your right into the movie almost sitting at the end of my seat and then the volume kills the moment. The place was clean and the staff where friendly
Fantastic experience!! 1st time in an IMAX screen and was super impressed. Foyer was very impressive also, really added to the whole visit. Will definitely be back!!
Mission Impossible was exciting. Good seats, but, as we'd waited to see it for a while, it was shown on a small screen, which was good, but larger screen would have been better.
A great place to view any film! With their memberships you can see films for cheap on Thursdays. If theirs a big movie out that you're dying to see but want great comfort, they also offer the VIP screens in which you get added goodies such as free parking, a small popcorn and drink and a coffee in their VIP lounge.
Cannot thank the 2 ladies at cineworld Belfast enough today for there help and compassion, we arrived with our 2 boys to see Jurassic world but unfortunately the screen had a fault in it (these things happen) so they told us we were being changed to the 4dx screen for free usually we would of accepted no problem however we had our autistic son with us today and he wouldn’t of coped with the sensory overload of the 4dx screen, the 2 women who were dealing with us were amazing offered us every alternative but my son was adamant he was wanted to see the dinosaurs, the girls pulled strings and went out of there way to try and fix the screen which took time out of there work day but made it happen put us in a spare screen and ran the movie just for us on our own I cannot thank them enough they made an 8 year old boy very happy! And they were so inclusive they chatted away to him and it’s the little things like that that will always make us return and repeat custom!!! 😊 thank you again girls!
Really great prices, never too busy, and they do great offers if you're a member of their loyalty programme. I love the fact that the seats don't need to be pushed down to sit on them (like the traditional cinema style)!
The new cinema is excellent. 4dx is lots of fun and my son loves it. Watched a movie in 4dX 3d which was great. Looking forward to the 270° screen X. Would highly recommend
I have only ever visited hear hear for the VIP screenings and rating this aspect, it's more expensive but the only cinema round Belfast I know of that features recliner sofas, plenty of elbow space and small screenings of around 30 people but you don't really notice any one else. There is usully deals on with popcorn and a drink included in the price for about £15-£17. If a new big movie is just out, book early as seats are limited.
Easy to find at the Odyssey centre the Titanic Quarter and usually ample parking but it's worth checking there are no big events on as it can have a severe impact on traffic times & sell out the car park. One of my favourite Belfast cinemas and I'm more than happy it's right beside Pizza Hut and a bowling alley, it makes for an easy satuday' chillout. The VIP option is excellent value as it now includes parking, a small drink & popcorn combo in the ticket price (these can be upgraded for a little more) and the really comfy reclining seats. The loyalty card is worth taking too, after only a few trips we built up enough points for another VIP ticket.
My husband and I pay for monthly membership and its definitely worth it. Lovely cinema, great cafe with lovely views over the city and parking validated
Only been here twice I believe. It was ok the times I went, cannot really remember to be honest. The VIP seats are meant to be good. Like any cinema, their.price of confectionary is crazy prices.
Went to see Black Panther when it came out, was a nice enough cinema. Tidy and clean which is great and the staff were friendly. Comfy seats at a good price. I'll return for sure.
Comfortable cinema, membership cards and VIP with car parking make it a cheap place to watch a movie. Plenty of screen times throughout the day from mid morning means you can often enjoy a quiet viewing
Good quality cinema- offer alternative deals to the local moviehouse chain such as the xtra club which helps save money at times. Screens and popcorns are a plus but the price of things like sweets could be lower- usually £3 for a bag! Staff are usually helpful and quick to serve, but make sure to check the dates on your tickets for things like VIP as sometimes the dates can be wrong.
Place needs gutting and some heating installed. Weird entrance. Parking cost me slightly less than the movie did. Auditorium was fine. Won't be back anytime soon 😐
We have really come to love this cinema and it is the first we look for. I would recommend joining their club online and that you try going to their VIP screenings. They are really good value for money when you compare to some of the other cinemas. They also put on special screenings of old films. We attended Die Hard.
Best cinema in Belfast , with the comfiest seats! Thursday is members day and your cinema ticket is £3!!! They also accept Meerkat Movies discount on Wednesday! Plus you can collect points in your membership card! Last time we got the cinema and the snacks for free , because we had collected that many points ! Good stuff!
Can say one of the best movie theatre in uk
Spider-man No Way Home in 4DX 3D was an incredible experience. Would highly recommend it. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back.
Everything was great, apart from the movie... Got duped into watching Mamma Mia 2. I didn't see Mamma Mia 1. My bad. Popcorn class. Seats comfortable. Friendly staff. Will definitely return!
First time taking a 2year old. Staff really friendly and helpful. Went just before Christmas day, and the kids had a bouncy castle, able to meet Santa and collect free reindeer food.
Expensive but good modern cinema. Can't really justify the price to be honest.
Excellent refurbishment of their cinema, very comfortable seats that recline, good spacing in between rows, only downside was the incredibly slow, understaffed consessions stand.
Great cinema, very comfortable, 4xd cinema was an exciting experience, only issues are that it's fairy expensive and the 1st time I had went, there was issues with Spiderman 4xd and we were told we would receive partial refund or voucher by staff but never did. Still recommend this place if you enjoy a proper cinema experience,.
I'll be back for sure👌
IMAX was good but disappointed they didn't have a large cup for Pepsi and popcorn could be better.
One of the few cinemas I am willing to pay for VIP seating. Tickets are reasonable when you get free parking, pop corn, coffee and sofa chairs all in the price. Love it!
£31 for 2 tickets in the Odyssey Cineworld for the screenX to watch Top Gun, Maverick film. Screen on 2 walls and in front. £15 on munchies. Bit dear but enjoyed the film.
Would be the second cinema I would use. Great Cinema, Staff are good. Selection of food on sale is good and the seats are proper comfy. And the VIP is wicked. Really worth the upgrade. Great for families and groups.
Cinema is clean, atmosphere inside the screens is good with comfortable seats, good view of the screen and good quality imaging.
Popcorn is not very good, if fact it is one of the worst of the available of local cinemas and even worse than most of the bagged popcorn (even if it is "reasonably" priced for cinema concessions). Audio is far too loud if you are sitting at the sides of the theatre - your ears WILL be ringing if you sit beside a speaker.
Tried the 4D Top Gun experience. Great film, great 4D action effects, hang on tight to your popcorn!
Only criticism was the lack of bass from the sound system.
Best cinema in the country, all screens are a great size and quality. Good comfortable and relaxed seating. Nachos are perfect 👌 and staff are always polite, friendly and welcoming.
Cineworld Belfast offers an outstanding cinematic experience. The theater's neatness is impressive, maintaining a clean and inviting atmosphere for moviegoers. The quality of sound and the IMAX screen are top-notch, providing an immersive audio-visual journey. Additionally, the comfortable recline of the seats adds to the overall enjoyment, ensuring a relaxing and enjoyable movie-watching experience. Highly recommended for any movie enthusiast!
Odyssey cinema is definitely Belfasts third best cinema, (after movie house Dublin road/city side and dundonald omni), but it has its perks. Compared to the odeon it's cheaply priced, and it's vip screens are fantastic! However some of its other screens are wearing threadbare, our screening of Ready Player One on Friday 30th March 2018 had us in a screen where the seats Infront of us had the upholstery around the seats worn down to see the wood underneath and the armrests on most of the seats in the row we were in were rather uncomfortable. However the real-time cheapness and good locale of this cinema mostly outweigh the issues that a bit of spit and polish could mostly resolve.
Well laid out, seats are with plenty of space and comfortable. You get what you expect from a cinema. Only downside is lack of staff at peak times such as big film releases.
Went to see Matrix resurrections in 4DX but was disappointed. The chairs seemed to be out of sync with the film itself, they moved a lot during the slow scenes but not much during the action.
I have also been twice now and both film times were not as advertised having to wait half an hour or more to get into the screen and then an additional half an hour of trailers once inside.
Moderately priced and was only cinema within public transport distance from in and around Belfast, still showing the film my granddaughter wanted to see, I can understand why others stopped, as only 9 people in the whole theatre where it was showing, so bonus points to them for keeping it going for a while longer than others.
Great cinema with a bar and good food options. The 4DX Screen is amazing.
Filip was theeee most FAB employee. i had some questions about superman so we told me the WHOLE plot from start to finish! he re enacted the WHOLE movie so I would understand. He got Jack to help him with the re enactment and it was FLAWLESS🙏🏼💞. when i cried at how beautiful it was filip and jack proceded to comfort me by hugging me and giving me superman popcorn and pepsi. they then listened to me talk about why i love superman so much and they encouraged me to take my love further by auditioning for the next superman movie😱they said they would help me rehearse the lines and they would include me in the re enactment to perferct my skills. COULD NOT RECOMMEND BETTER SERVICE
Very spacious and very comfortable seating, a different mix of screens, IMAX, 4dx etc, all very clean and friendly helpful staff. Also 4 hours free parking with cinema ticket
Good prices and a good cinema. Lots of food and drinks to choose from. VIP is well worth the extra as you get a free drink, popcorn and hot drink, as well as them validating your parking and the extra comfy seats too
It's a cinema within an Odyssey within your soul!! They have air hockey in the lobby. They have air hockey in the arcade downstairs. They have air hockey in the arcade upstairs. They also show movies in the cinema. I saw a movie where Paul Rudd became bigger and smaller and dressed as some sort of Ant Man. Also... There is air hockey in the vicinity.
Very good
Great service. We went to a 4dx screening, it was totally worth the price. Great fun. Ask them to validate your parking and you'll get it free.
First class cinema with comfortable seating, plenty of offers and deals, become a member with a card and get points which can be used as money of tickets etc
Free parking for family or vip tickets...
The building it’s self is run down a bit but everything including shops seems to be getting a well deserved facelift...
Had a good experience. Had good quality. Clean place nice sound good seats well i give a 5 out of 5
From Dublin . Using unlimited card here to see 4dx weapons . Great experience, especially allowing customers to charge here , not like the opposite stingy bowling alley….
Great popcorn, good atmosphere and very nice seats.
One of the best cinemas in belfast. Would recommend going if it's a rainy day and you have nothing to do. You'll definitely enjoy the 4DX experience
My fav cinema, the 4DX is great fun but the snow never seems to work. I get the Cineworld unlimited because it’s not really worth the money if you don’t do that. The lifts can be a bit dodgy sometimes and they’re not run by Cineworld so be wary of that
Very friendly staff.
Seats in the Imax cinema were very comfortable and the sound and viewing experience is worth a visit.
Parking is free for cinema goers
There's room for improvement.
Its great to see an IMAX here again but it was cold when seeing Spiderman.
The 4DX chairs were definitely out of sync at times during The Matrix.
I've seen a couple of films in standard format but they had issues trying to get Scream to play.
I generally buy nachos when at the cinema but the cheese here is like vinegar and not nice at all, popcorn was fine.
I love the recliners at Movie House(vip)but the seats here don't go back much at all.
I've paid for a membership here and will see how it goes over the next few months, most of the issues I mentioned can be teething problems and easily fixed so I'm still hopeful things will improve.
Update: Thankfully things have improved from the early teething problems.
Popcorn etc is still very pricey and the seats aren't a patch on Movie Houses recliners but everything else is spot on. 4/5
Very modern cinema. Photos taken around 2pm midweek.
Very clean cinema with friendly staff. Prices are what you'd expect for any other cinema. The chairs recline and there's plenty of room between the seats infront and behind.
Good sound as well, not too loud or quiet. Plenty of toilets near all the screens.
In terms of food, there's popcorn, ice cream, bagged sweets, nachos, hotdogs and pick a mix. There's also a lavazza cafe right beside the cinema so you can get a coffee before your movie.
Overall great experience, I'd say it looks worlds apart from Odeon, Omniplex, etc, but prices are all still similar.
Very modern cinema with ScreenX technology. I recommend the salted popcorn not the other. The chair is perfect for long movies.
"We had a great experience, we were really impressed with the 4DX technology. Staff were friendly and efficient and we also enjoyed the movie so very positive all around."
Imax is great (I recommend the back 3 rows), cinema is never too packed so nice. Has 12 screens which are all good spec and quality picture. Place is very clean especially the toilets. I have the unlimited card (£18 month) which I recommend, you can also buy alcohol which you can bring into the screen. I've never witnessed any rowdy behaviour. some minor points - food is of course pricey (the noisy rustle from the bags they serve the popcorn in is very noticeable when seated near someone with one). Overall its Great. Pity the actual Movies these days aren't that great.
I love in here. They have so many great events on during the holidays! I have an xtra card and it accumulates points/money quickly which is great. They're kids boxes and other deals are great value for money
I recently visited Cineworld Belfast for a movie night, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The cinema is conveniently located and offers a modern and well-maintained space for film enthusiasts.
The seating was comfortable, with ample legroom, and the screen quality was excellent, providing a crisp and immersive viewing experience. The sound system was also impressive, delivering clear audio that truly enhanced the movie.
The staff were polite and efficient, ensuring the ticketing and snack queues moved quickly. The snack options were standard but slightly on the pricier side, which is expected at most cinemas.
Very nice cinema with good facilities, lovely and clean.
Ticket kiosks were out of order, and there were only 2 tills open with giant queues. Very slow service (but the staff were nice).
Tried ScreenX, don't think it's worth the extra cost and found it distracting.
Much nicer cinema than the one in Dublin, it's a shame they haven't replicated this there.
Wonderful place to watch a movie.
We went to see Mission Impossible in SCREEN X which is the wraparound cinema but unfortunately the fire alarm went off and EVERYONE was escorted out. We were about halfway through and have to claim the money back from Customer Services.
Will definitely go back as the seats were great and the whole experience was super.
It was our first time at Cineworld, and we had a fantastic experience. We enjoyed every second of the movie—and the rides!
OK first of all I'm kind of biased as I used to work in the place when it was Odyssey Cinemas.
The new look of the place is great. Sleek and stylish. The foyer is nowhere near as freezing as it used to be.
Having two sets of ticket takers is such a good idea.
Went to see two films: Belfast (meh) and Dune (it was great because I FREAKING LOVE SAND). The ads are a bit on the long side but I guess that's just part of the experience.
I only bought a large cappuccino (cheeky £1 pack of tropical skittles smuggled infrom the Spar out the back for the lads (I went on my own)). £2.90 for the coffee which is reasonable for a cinema...I think... I don't get much (even before Covid).
The seats are numbered and they're comfy, kind of miss the old seats but these ones look easier to clean. Also good leg room so you don't have to worry about people stepping on your toes when walking past.
Dune was on in the IMAX, the heating seemed to conk out halfway through, but probably just a teething problem.
Staff are friendly and helpful. It feels like it could do with an information kiosk or a greeter as you come in because while as someone who worked there it was obvious where to go but if you're going there for the first time it could be a bit daunting and if you were someone less super sound and chill as me that could lead to upset. For some reason I thought the cafe part was only for certain ticket holders, its not.
Overall the place is in a much better place from where it was. Was that because I was a manager who's to say... but yes.
Best of luck to all the new staff (and old... very old 😉) and hope it goes from strength to strength.
Best place to chill, you can also take pints inside the hall and have an amazing time watching movies, the coconut latte is worth trying ❤️
Really good experience. We were at a private screening for a birthday party. Popcorn and drinks were included. (Not sure what the price was as I wasn't the one paying). I'd definitely recommend going. The place was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Probably the best cinema experience in Belfast at present. Slick front of house and nice comfortable seats. Great screen sizes as well (see the attached photo) Staff are super nice, plus the coffee is great from the inbuilt lavazza coffee shop. Love coming here.
Great place, great cinemas and fantastic options. Have been to the IMAX the 270 degrees screens and also the 4d to see topgun. It's brilliant and we worth it. Parking is free of you validate your ticket on the way out. Coffee shop is good too
It's a good cinema but sometimes it can be a bit expensive or busy but I would recommend getting the Cineworld card to go see free movies it's worth it
Went to see Spiderman in the screen X format. Very impressed with the whole refurbishment of cinema and the enhanced viewing really added to the experience. For the ultimate cinema trip, the 4DX takes cinema to the next level! Saw Ghostbusters Frozen Empire in 4DX, definitely worth the extra money to experience.
I've been going here since it originally opened well over 100 times and overall had great experience but during the winter it can be very cold if the weather outside is bad. I've got discount for the cinema with no issues whatsoever from the staff including £5 during the week and £3 during the weekend. Check your phone provider for discount code.
The toilets are generally clean and cinema screens can vary but are generally clean too.
The food and drinks are usually quite expensive but you can buy sweets cheaper from the spar shop around the corner and bring them in with you which you are allowed to do.
Every time I've been service has been good from the staff but would recommend getting in early.
The only problem is there is always 30 minute+ trailers for every movie!
This is picture of my wife at the premiere of the Elvis movie. The place itself is incredible which I believe up to 12 cinemas. As for the Elvis movie. It was very good without being exceptional. You really have to be an Elvis fan like us to get into it. 3 🌟🌟🌟. Cineworld however is not disability friendly as we discovered.
Really nice cinema. Big seats that recline, lots of leg room. It was clean. Popcorn was nice. Only thing we found was it was so expensive. It was 80 pounds to go. I just think that is so expensive to watch a movie. It’s not something you’d do very regularly.
Been coming to the odyssey cinema regularly for years now and ill be going even more after the Dublin road cinema is gone. They do cool stuff for premiers and specials. Vip is good too.
I came from England and didn’t have sleep at all before the flight. When I was so sleepy, I booked a movie to sleep. Their armchairs are very comfortable I enjoyed my 2 hours sleep. Don’t know about the movie that much as I only woke up at the end. But I do recommend it for a nap.
Loved the 4DX seats move a lot! Smoke, water, and wind so much fun! My kids loved it
Brilliant! Watched Jurassic park and felt like I was on a roller coaster. Great fun 🤩
Great cinema, best IMAX in Belfast
The 4DX (seats move etc) and Screen X (270° where the sidewalls are also part of the screen) are brilliant
They have a monthly subscription called Unlimited which saves you lots of money and gives you 25% of food a d snacks after 3 months.
Part of the Unlimited is a thing called Taste Card which gives you discounts on restaurants which is great for a night out
"Great experience in 4DX, friendly staff, great selection of food and large portions, free on-site parking"
Love this cinema, have been using it since it opened. My daughter had a fall and a nice lady came to our aid from behind the coffee counter. Got management to come and see if she was ok. Great service and good snacks. Comfy seats too!
Very overpriced, £22 just for tickets. £20 for snacks which were regular drink, popcorn, nachos (which were inedible) and a milkshake! Movie house just as good and cheaper!
very impressive & easier to get to by car than I thought beforehand.
We visited this cinema so we could visit the arcade after, they offer what they advertise but the snacks don't seem the freshest or the nicest. The screen room we were in was massive and spacious but at times the volume was far too loud.
The males toilets looked very clean but the smell of urine was very strong and very unpleasant..
All the complaining aside, this cinema looks pretty cool, the screen we were in was clean and foyer has a cafe plus an ice cream bar which we didn’t use. I’d just recommend bringing your own food/snacks as it would be cheaper and their snacks wouldn’t satisfy us like Movie house stuff would.
Had a wonderful experience at Cineworld Belfast. The cinematic experience was mind blowing.
Nice new cinema! Odyssey complex with more and more new restaurants and entertainment as well. Parking is free if validated and would def recommend the monthly pass!
My favourite place great snacks nachos are amazing 😍
Very well maintained theater. Looks like its opened Recently
Decent cinema, morning spots on weekdays are predictably empty. Good seats and ample leg room.
The cleanest and most comfortable cinema in Belfast. Great modern design. Staff are friendly, and there’s a great choice of screens (IMAX, 4DX, etc).
Yes it’s expensive, but you pay for the best and the Unlimited Cards make it very affordable if you go to the cinema regularly. Love it. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.
They put up all the best movies also they do some classics.
Theathre are nice and warm nothing to complain.
I would request management/ Distributors to bring in kananda movies, i know less people turn up but i dont see many people in cinemas anyway.
Could not fault my visit! Very friendly staff and quick service at the concessions. One of the staff members even showed me to my screen. The IMAX screen was spotlessly clean.
"Comfy seats, nice experience. Easy to book online"
"Didn't expect so many fancy stuff from the "4" of 4D! Not cheap but real good fun!"
The 4DX cinema was a some experience.
Really enjoyed the movie.
The people working on the tills can be a bit slow, so leave plenty of time if you’re looking to great food.
The 4Dx experience with Twisters is an absolute genius way of watching this amazing disaster movie. Not overly done just the right movements with the scenes. If you have the change this month to see Twisters in 4Dx book your ticket it is absolutely worth it.
Lovely and shiny! Pros - Staff were lovely and the popcorn was really good, the wrap around screen was actually really cool, nice food available (though I didn't notice any healthy options) and the parking validation ports are great!. Our cons were: the seats are kind of uncomfortable for short people - I couldn't put my feet on the floor or cross my legs or reach anything to rest my feet on and the men's loo was out of action. It was nice for a treat and we'll definitely be back, but too expensive to go on a regular basis.
Large number of screens, good parking which is free up to 4 hours when you validate your ticket. Snacks expensive although size of popcorn and drinks were good, no crisps. Spacious and clean.
The seat is comfortable and free 4 hours parking is good.. However, the popcorn is terrible. Ordered a large salted caramel popcorn. It was very salty, not edible. It is saltier than crisps. £7.8 wasted. My kid didn't eat it at all. They should try it themselves and know what I mean.
Nice airy auditoriums with fairly comfortable seats, thankfully not too busy at the afternoon/early evening showings. Great that car park is free for four hours with the price of the ticket. Prices of drinks/popcorn are high, as is the case in every cinema. As to the price of tickets, good for families (adults pay kids prices for 2 adults with 2 kids) but can be high. If going alone and on the 3 telephone network you can get a reduced weekend ticket every week.
Was here this weekend, the customer service was impeccable. The girl at the confectionery stand was so helpful and informative. The guy at the ticket collection point was very nice. I will not even mention the time I had at the 4Dx experience. A must see and please, go, you will not be disappointed.
This is more your premium cinema experience and less for the humble movie goer. The IMAX screen is just incredible so is a must visit for blockbuster hits.
Decor is impressive and there are plenty of snack options.
I think you can claim parking fee back from the desk so definitely check in on that!
Excellent cinema with massive IMAX screen. Friendly and supportive staff. Good selection of food and beverages.
Can't wait sitting waiting on it starting avatar will up date when out again
Nice staff, popcorn and screens.
Ads at start are quite long. Both cafe and cinema are quite cold I always wear hoodie and bring coat as blanket to be comfy and was still cold.
Chairs are comfy but you push back on them to activate a slight recline mode but feels you have to keep pressure on it to maintain the mode.
Will be back but less ads and turning the heating on would be ace!
Top Gun Maverick fab film! Thanks for VIP tickets Cool FM!
When to Depeche Mode M tonight,
enjoy the film and snacks, but omg it was bitterly cold in the screen, and I mean cold.
At over £20 a ticket I expect the screen to be warm.
Absolutely loved the 4DX experience while watching top gun.will be back for more to try the other options cineworld has
An older cinema that still has some great features.
The VIP seats are still some of the nicest seats you can get in a cinema. The portions for popcorn and drink are very large and the staff very helpful.
The only thing about the odyssey cinema is that its condition is indicative of the odyssey as a whole. It can in places feel a bit shabby and kind of empty. But none of these things detract from the general movie going experience in my time there.
We attended the opening day of deadpool and wolverine and arrived half an hour before are movie was due to start, they had 4 tills open to sort everyone out for their tickets and snacks I counted a total of 10/11 tills that could of been open and like I said it was open day of deadpool so the cinema was overly packed with people and the 4 lines stretched the whole length of the building this resulted in us waiting nearly 50 mins to get to the front of the line and nearly missing the start of our movie once we got in there was a lot of people waiting and as our movie started people still where coming in so overall the opening day for a large awaited movie was not prepared well thankfully we made it in time but it’s something they could look into prepping better in the future
Nice popcorn, Pepsi retailer. Good selection of treats and didn't try but an ice cream place that did hot treats like waffles and scoops. Staff friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. Saw The Batman in Screen X, the experience was good, bit of a novelty. V expensive for 3 people, seats alone were £40 😱 Seats comfortable and recline some what however it was a bit chilly, bring a coat or scarf. You can get your parking validated - free parking. Probably not be rushing back to screen X due to expense - next to try standard screens.
Went to see shazam 2 in IMAX and it was amazing! The picture was clear, bright, sharp, and colourful, amazing picture! The sound was also amazing, it had full surround sound and the bass and everything about it was top notch! The seats were comfortable and quite spacious, you got to lean back and not like when you lean back you need to keep pushing yourself down, you get to push the seat down and it stays there, so very good seats! Now we didn't get any treats here but i got a hotdog and it was delicious. Now, the only bad thing which isnt that bad is the volume, the volume was very, very, very loud, this will effect anyone if you\they have tinnitus or sensitive ears etc. And temperature is perfect.
Over-all my experience in Cineworld IMAX is a 9.5\10
Definitely recommend!
One of the best theatres in Belfast. Amazing screen and sound.
