Reviews of Ogmore By Sea Beach
M. B.
Great beach, cannot fault it! Lots of parking but gets busy quickly. Parking is £1/hour, £6/>1hour, either cash or card ,(payment by phone will be rejected). Toilets on site, regularly cleaned. Ice cream van and food van also on site. Clean beach with plenty of families, walkers, paddle boarders and dogs present. McD also 10m driving back to the motorway.
E. M.
Very nice place. If you looking for peaceful and quiet avoid in weekends and bank holidays. Lots to do. Fossils, beach, sand and rock, caves too.
A. G.
Beautiful beach suitable for someone who likes calm environment. It was very windy when I last visited. Wide area for parking though we have to pay for it.
A. L. P.
Fantastic spot though parking is a bit of a free-for-all. As there is no height restriction at the CAR PARK entrance a disproportionate amount of the space adjacent to the beach is typically hogged by a handful selfish t**ts in their excessively big vans where otherwise there would be plentiful parking. Get there early to avoid waiting for a space to free up.
C. E.
I absolutely love this beach so nice and has a quiet vibe there’s ice cream can there and toilet block too which is very handy! It’s a quiet beach and can always find your own area as well my favourite beach I also love the rock pools too there great! Here are so photos to prove this place is great!
C. H.
Gorgeous beach with sand dunes on one side and more rocky on the other. Be super careful when it comes to crossing the estuary, don’t get stranded on the sand dune side like we almost did! I’ve seen paddle-boarders having to help strangers cross over with their bags (and at one time a dog) because the tide had come in so quickly 😂
C.
A nice beach when you time it right, can get quite crowded with youngsters revving there cars and no spaces. You have to pay for parking. There are nice walks which ever way you decide to head.
J. B.
Beautiful sun sets in summer and lovely walks to Ogmore Castle and the stepping stones, or Merthyr Mawr little village or even a walk across the front to Southerndown beach.
C. H.
Great beach - but careful of the undertow and on the rocks. A little colder, a little windier than most of the other local beaches. Reasonably priced parking but no free “out of hours” parking. Very popular of a summer’s evening
N. C.
A beautiful Beach, the part I was on was the river mouth part, there is a much sandier beach along to the right, and when the tide is out you can walk from Ogmore over to Porthcawl.
C. F.
Great beach, can be a nightmare for parking so I suggest arriving early.
V. G. (. w.
A very beautiful and clean beach, perfectly hidden and perfect for dogs. Always nice people to meet here and skimming rocks is always a fun activity! Just overall lovely little place
E. P.
Lovely, easy to park, well maintained toilets.
Just be very aware the sea comes in Very fast so dont get stuck on the rocks like so many did. They are lots of access points from the coastle path just keep a note of them & you leave via these.
K. J.
Absolutely lovely beach, great for the kids, great for the dogs, not only do you have the beach but you also have the castle remains only a short walk away. We like to park near the castle, and walk to that, then walk alongside the river all the way down to the beach, it’s a lovely walk. On the one side of the river you have the flat grass to stroll on, on the other side of the river you have the sand dunes to walk on/between. Lovely walk every time :)
H. E.
Beautiful spot and lovley scenery good parking place and nice beach and lots of pebbles and stones lots of sheep and hills I was here in the evening today and I went for a walk and had a lovley paddle I will definitely come back here when I stay with my sister again
S. D.
Simply stunning all around, grab a picnic, your beach towel and your set for the day. On a nice day the sunset is a must. The water seems to never get deep although it has a pretty quick turn around in the tide.
When it goes out you can cross over the river to the sand dunes and it's such a lovely walk. Lifeguards are usually there to help out if you stay on the main beach in front of the hut.
Toilet facilities on site and an ice cream van. Plenty of parking but it does get VERY busy.
Loads of big industrial bins on site so please use them to keep the place as beautiful as it is.
N. T.
Always love ogmore for the prettyness and long walks. The rocks have fossils embedded in them,so with a keen eye you may find them. £1 for an hr or then £6 for all day, reduced after a certain time, keeps you looking at your watch and limits a walk. Land rover for tea and warm drinks there and also an ice-cream van. Enjoy the view
A. P.
Great beach to take the kids too, when the sea is in it is mainly pebbles but still fun. Lovely views and plenty to find, such as fossils, caves, rock pools and all sorts of animals. Just be careful of all the sheep if your driving 🐑
There is a ice cream van that tends to be there when the weather is warmer. Also a place to buy warmer drinks such as tea was there the other day, so that's something to look out for aswell.
There are public toilets that are available for most of the day including a disabled radar key toilet, the disabled toilet seems to be available to use all night while the other toilets seem to shut at around 7pm.
Parking before 4pm is £6 for the day, after 4pm it is £3. There are plenty of spaces to park but it can get crowded with cars on a hot day.
Ogmore by sea also seems to be a good place to surf, we have seen many surfers going here.
If you are looking to eat out, there are a couple of local places to eat that are just a short drive away.
J. D.
A short drive from Bridgend, this is a very nice beach. We went at the beginning of August and the water was reasonably warm. The beach itself is nice sand and with pebbles and rocky areas in places. Parking seemed a little restricted so you may need to hunt around for somewhere, but the plus side to that is that the beach is not really very crowded at all. There were families playing, having barbeques, walking but it didn't feel like anyone was in your face.
B. M.
Other than the weird parking prices (£1 for an hour or £6 for more than an hour)... The beach area is absolutely beautiful. Big tidal swell, but lovely sandy beach when the tide is out. Comes in really quickly which makes it great for body surfing...
C. W. (.
Great place to visit for a walk on an unspoilt beach, we took our puppy for her first experience of a beach and sand and she loved it, in and out of the sea, also so many friendly people there to chat with. A really beautiful area, highly recommended
R. C.
was sandy, views were great and bus stop close by. would recommend for a family day out!
G. O.
Beautiful beach but gets busy.
The beach itself is stunning especially first thing in the morning and at the end of the day. Early September, when the schools are back, is a good time for a sunset walk.
In places, it's not, however, an easy walk for those less able bodied; the rock formations, which are part of the area's attraction, also provide a challenge to get to the sandy parts.
Be aware that the north end of the beach gets cut off by the estuary flowing into the sea and it's too deep for most to wade across. Therefore plan which end you want to visit.
Toilet facilities are surprisingly good and there's usually a food wagon or two near the parking meters.
In high season, good weather and Bank Holidays the place is crowded and parking becomes a challenge so arrive early.
S. R.
Love this beach! Very popular with dog owners as dogs are allowed on the beach all year. Also quite popular with surfers, swimmers, kitesurfers and other watersports. There's lifeguards usually by the main slip way.
When the tides in the beach is rocky but once it goes out it exposes a massive flat sandy beach. My kids love playing around the Rocks, building rivers and dams between all the little pools left by the tide.
There's a toilet block and ice cream can in the car park but not much else so you'll need to pack everything else you'll need.
Some lovely walks from the car park too!
H. S.
Stunning beach. You can either arrive at the beach by crossing the sand dune (approximately half an hour) or the stream (15 min).
R. M. V.
A favourite stop of mine for years.
There's a beautiful walk along the coast from Ogmore to Southerndown with beaches and rock pools along the way.
The beach is massive when the tide is out (beware the potential for a rip tide near the river) and the beach is a gentle decline into the sea for quite some way. At night, on a clear night with the tide fresh out, you get the feeling you're walking among the stars as the reflection of the stars shines off the wet sand.
When the weather isn't great, the walk is still lovely and the sea can be very dramatic. Be careful and respect the sea, but it is awesome at times when rough.
Parking is a little on the expensive side and the local authority there is always keen to grab what money it can, whether from tickets or fines. The toilets are OK, not spotless but OK.
There's often options for refreshments and light snacks in the car park ranging from icecream through tea and coffee to pulled pork and burgers. Not cheap.
Try and approach the car park from the west if you can as the entrance from the east involves a very nasty turn. The roads in the car park are smooth but narrow with large rocks close enough to scratch your car if you're not careful.
When all the parking spaces are full people have historically parked on the grass with no punishment but be careful, I've seen cars stuck on grassy mounds unable to move because all four wheels are raised off the ground.
Also, beware of dogs. I'm not sure if this is the case all year around, but there are a lot of dogs on this dog friendly beach. Nice if you have a dog but frustrating if you don't since many dog owners don't seem to know or care where their dogs are.
W. R.
Beautiful coastal walk whilst waiting for the tide to go out. Golden sandy beach great for body boarding and swimming at low tide. Easy parking and food van
N. V.
Is an amazing place! And you can go with your dog and share with him in the beach like a family member. There is a place for walk with the dog too if you don't want to stay only at the beach.
G. M.
Dog friendly all year round. Really nice place
N. G.
An easily accessible stretch of mixed sand and shingle, with a concrete slip down to the beach from the top end of the carpark. Carpark is ample, and is pay and display. The beach runs along a green, so there is plenty of places to sit and watch the great waves if you don't like sand. The coastline here is particularly rocky, so there are lots of areas to clamber over if you're inclined, and small, shallow rock pools to look at. Lots of shells and hag stones can be collected here. The toilet facilities are clean, and there is usually an icecream van.
M.
Really lovely beach, not crazy busy as it’s so big, you can find space away from people if needed. The biggest pain was using the beach toilets - which close at 6pm, so actually quite early really. Other than that it’s great to go in the sun to relax.
R. L.
Great dog friendly beach. Lifeguard monitored area during summer. Check for tides times to make sure there is sand on the beach. Strange parking charges
M. A.
Cleanest beach l have ever been on . One ice cream van and l didn't see any bins . Great example of people clearing up after themselves . The Welsh should be be very proud
J. P.
Best place to watch the sun set near Cardiff
A. J. E.
Amazing place to walk, surf/SUP, ride bicycle, beautiful views and a nice place to park up to watch the waves
D. P.
Lived here in a small shepherd's cottage by the wall in 61 for 6 months. Always a beautiful view and beach. Too bad money called and they built stinking ugly houses on what was to be parkland.
S. D.
Beautiful beach. Can cross the river to get to the other side of the beach. Check tide levels before going.
P. M.
Amazing place. Car park is expensive and a bit confusing to use the meter. But amazing views lovely beach. And great walks
l. p.
Lovely spot for kids. Plenty of rock pools to explore with a good car park. Motorcycles are free. Can get busy. Avoid on bank holidays.
J. S.
Nice place not much sand went on a bit more to Newton beach very nice plenty or sand great day out
J. B.
Always love coming here no matter what the weather but you do need to pay for parking now, such a shame! Its expensive too! Beautiful place, lots of parking and access to the beach plus big grass areas for the kids to play ball or have a bbq 😉
M. L. M.
Beautiful beach with an amazing view. I enjoyed walking with my little dogs
R. M.
Large sandy beach when the tides out and plenty of round pebbles on the shore line when it's high tide which entertained the kids.
Pay and display parking nearby and the toilets were clean.
Spotlessly clean beach during our visit and heard on TV that there's a team of volunteers who regularly give up their time to litter pick. Just want to say ‘thank you’ to them and visitors like us really do appreciate their work.
R.
Bang tidy Welsh beach, the sea has just the right level of saltiness.... and the sand just the right level of sandiness to be annoying when it gets down your bum crack.... cracking spot for a wee walk with the hound
P. M.
One of the best places for whatever you wanna do on sunny summer day beach is great, bit of sand and grass and rock, water is very clean comparing to other beaches close to Cardiff. Ony one bad thing is parking is expensive in midday, its 5£.
M.
Very lovely beach with a river. Dogs are allowed. Plenty of sand and area for your pet to run around.beach is kept clean and tidy. Very close to Cardiff with easy commute.
L. V.
Fabulous coastal walking. Big car park but you can park only for either 1 hour (£1) or all day (£6). At least in busy times food (hot also) and drink available from vendors. Very popular especially when weather good. Great for fishing going by the number of fishermen there. Rugged terrain with ups and downs, but easy walking grassy areas as well.
O. P.
Lovely beach. It was SO windy when I went there
N. D.
Lovely clean beach lots of parking.
Just because careful tide come in very quickly.
M. R.
Ogmore beach is a beautiful location that boasts some of the most picturesque landscapes in the country. Having spent some time in the surrounding village as a child, returning here every so often as an adult means that the beach is suffused with memory and nostalgia; the cliffs, dunes, and rockpools are just a few of the many beautiful features of this epic beach, and for those that love a good ramble there is lots to explore here. Lifeguards patrol the waters for those that like to swim, and there is also a great little coffee van for when you need some refreshment. This is one of my favourite beaches in Wales, and I'm lucky to still have family who live close by.
J. P.
This is one of my favourite beaches to visit, it's on the Welsh coastal path as well so you can go for a good long walk or go for a paddle. My children love climbing on the rocks and exploring the rock pools at low tide and then playing on the golden sand.
S. B.
What an adventure. First things first, lovely beach. To get to said beach we waded across estuary, not a problem...just a little paddle. The beach was very quiet which left us pleasently surprised. Having dogs, one being a puppy they absolutely loved it, untill the beach was invaded by a pack of horses with the command of 'get out the way' being shouted. The horses left mess all over the beech.
Upon deciding to leave the beach we returned the way we came, only to see that the tide had signifficantly come in making the estuary a bit of a challenge.
Needless to say conducting a river crossing with my fiancee, father and mother in law was quite the challenge.
To summarize we got the job done with all kit and equipment in tact.
Fantastic day, with stories we will never forget.
M. S.
Not a sandy beach but still popular. Good for fishing and walk.
R.
I love this place because its quiet everyone I've gone their. you can also walk your dog which is good for a beach this time of year
M. C.
First trip out after lockdown regulations eased. Cold and windy but pure heaven and the toilets are open.
S. W.
Beautiful scenery beach of both sand but mainly pebbles icecream and chips available buy vans parking is good but fills up quickly toilets also not easily accessable if you have adisability
R. H.
Lovely beach 😍 quiet and peaceful, lovely walks too , recommend it to anyone
P. K.
One of them! view is spectacular, from dunes & sandy beach i carry further passing pebble beach, slowly grow cliffs. from this moment 500 yards away is my spot! when sea lvl is right you can enjoy 6m long jumps to water. have a good one folks
S. B.
Lovely views, ample parking, plenty of green areas for picnics & clean toilets. Usually an ice cream van too..a lovely day out...#dogfriendly #makeyourownfun
J. S.
Absolutely stunning part of South Wales. Great views, historical, super walks and an excellent coffee van for a caffeine hit after your walk! Well worth a visit!
A. M.
Wonderful beach, great open expanse of sand with incredible rock formations.
M. G.
Nice big beach. Lots of parking but gets VERY busy so not always possible to park.
Also a few places around the area to park up for a bit (we found somewhere to stop on a bank holiday Saturday afternoon in our camper van).
R. E.
Beautiful part of wales what more is there not to like, apart from coming across JOL's yellow burger van, then that is a genuinely nice added bonus to a perfect afternoon walk along the coastline.
R. A. D.
Lovely beach which is great at all times of the year. I last visited on New Year's Day and it was very windy with large waves, which made it more exciting. It is a dog friendly area and is completely unspoilt. You do have to pay for parking though.
E. S.
Cloudy... But very beautiful and not too crowdy... Enjoyed even if started raining after 5 min of arrival...
D. R.
Beautiful place.
Sometimes "Dogmore" would be a more appropriate name for it...
F. S.
A magic place throughout the year. Popular for sups and swimmers. Rock pools and sand at low tide. Great for walks and letting the dog run.
J. F.
Fantastic beach, the beach was not that busy when though the car park was busy, great can cafe and cheap ice cream s
D. G.
Amazing costal views, easy to access, plenty of parking, dog and child friendly
J.
Dog friendly beach all year round.
D. E.
Lovely beach, great for rock pooling and climbing around the rocks
k. a.
Wonderful beach, with rocks, pebbles and sand. Great place for your dog as they can go on the beach off lead, all year round.
S. W.
Lovely beach, though with the amount of dog carp about, should be called Bogmore.... 😉
C. R.
Lovely to walk along or sit and watch the waves crash onto the rocks.
x.
Beautiful well kept beach, good parking, stunning walks.
D. T.
We often pop to Ogmore By sea during the summer and sometimes in the Winter. Its a lovely beach and ample parking.
On hot sunmer days it can get extreamly busy but you should find a space.
Parking is not free but its not expensive and i guess it goes towards mainting the carpark and beach.
There are publice toilets. These are not the cleanest but they serve a purpose.
There are not many shops and places to eat in ogmore but there do ha e a local shope and a cafe resturant further along the coastal road whithin Ogmore.
The beech itself is clean and allows dog walking all year.
you don't have to watch the tides because you can get caught on the far side of beech and requires walking back to the carpark along the top. No big deal really.
G. W.
Lovely place. To chill and stroll along the beach
W. T.
Nice beach and somewhere to walk the dogs. Ice cream, toilets, pay and display car park.
M. F.
Gorgeous spot with grand beach and dunes. Miles of sand at low tide.
C. B.
Great place to see the sea but just be careful of the rubbish on the beach including used needles
M. D.
Beautiful beach. It was low tide when we arrived, so we had a vast expanse of smooth
sand. Despite the wind, the sun was very warm.
e. r. b.
I have visited here with family on a couple of previous occasions during the wintery months and it has been lovely; blustery coastal experience with lovely views and some great sea-glass and sea shell hunting. Having visited this last week (end August) I can say it is even more beautiful. We had a very beachy adventure as the tide had receded to uncover a lovely flat welcoming beach. The car park was very busy and the facilities (toilet, ice cream van, hot food type van) were perfectly adequate. This is a wonderful shot for stopping to view the scene. I gather there are good walks too, one for another day!
S. N.
Really nice beach for all the family. Beach is dog friendly so great for long walks. Toilets, and small food vans are in the car park. Just note that the car park isn’t big so will fill up quickly on nice days
A. O.
One of the most family AND DOG friendly beaches in Wales. Great parking, great walks and views...burger and ice cream van. Great local cafe and pubs.
L. D.
Stunning beach. Word of advice, stay on the left beach because if you cross the river (right side), then high tide will trap you over there.
R. B.
The beach is a great place to be but be warned parking charges are now 1.00 for one hour and 6.00 thereafter. Just enough time to walk the dogs in an hour
A. W.
A great beach and parking right on the front. Cheap for short stay but otherwise expensive. Also a great beach for walking a dog.
C. B.
Lovely place. Parking is a bit pricey!
j. w.
Great views of the Welsh coastal line
I have had trouble parking in the past as it gets busy on some days
Our most recent visit was a quiet day ,and it was enjoyable sitting on a bench taking in the views
R. J.
Had a very nice and romantic day here with the wife say hundreds of live starfish
J. A.
Beach itself is great, but £6 for +1 hours was a bit ridiculous
H. I.
My happy place. There's no place like the beach, especially a natural beach with no arcades and shops. Adds to the beauty
A. C.
Simply stunning and dog friendly. Parking is expensive and there are just toilets could do with a cafe
C. H.
Lovely spot. Will definitely be back
M. H.
Beautiful beach. Bit of a shame you have to pay for parking now but it's not expensive. Beautiful sunsets
G. B.
Fantastic beach, ice cream van and toilets plenty of pay and display parking and sheep roaming free.
A. G.
Love this beach. Sand, rock pools or sit on the grass. One of the few beaches that allows dogs in the summer. Best sunsets.
E. A.
Great views, careful tide is fast and cuts access to car park.
D. R.
This place is one of the nicest place to take some lovely pics or even a nice calm chilling place to have a few hours out :)
T. F.
Love this beach great memories of playing in the stream and lovely walks around the castle.
R. G.
Simply a lovely place to go for a walk at the beach or just sit and enjoy the view.
C. E.
Beautiful beach with a gorgeous view of the sunset! Definitely worth a visit!
S. B.
Lovely place. Free parking too
S. W.
Fantastic place to get away from things. Outstanding views. Not a lot to waste money on...
I. M.
Clean family friendly beach with parking. £1 1st hour or £5 all day. Toilets are basic but work.
A. S.
Love this place has everything nice beach grassy banks and verges rock pools. Great for surfing parking was simple and paid via my phone took 2 minutes to set up so easier next time. Beach has a lifeguard patrol which is nice. A go to place if you love the beach but not the hustle and bustle of a fairground. Some good walks as well or pack ya MTB your legs will love you🤣🤣
D. B.
Natural headland and beach. Dog friendly all year
E. R.
It's such a peaceful place to be first thing in the morning.
R. M.
Lovely beach sadly spoilt by rubish left behind by people
T. U.
Beautiful scenery and amazing sunsets.
The photo below is what I took on Saturday 14/09/2019
M.
Excellent parking. Stunning views. Very clean.
N. T. (.
Wonderful beach and surrounding area. Fabulous safe place for dog walking.
A. P.
My favourite local beach, generally quiet, and lovely coastal walks to choose from. Be aware of the tide if you cross the river, it's easy to get cut off. Surfing is common where the river meets the sea, and it's a good place to walk dogs. There's a lot of life in the rock pools, including honeycomb worm visible at low spring tides. Parking can be busy.
M. L.
great place to fish take family hot food sold there ...
L. P.
Lovely beach. Toilets, ice cream and plenty of parking
C. H.
Lovely in all weathers. Good to get a spot in the car park looking out to sea with a hot drink, if weather not great. Otherwise great for kids to explore amongst the rocks or walk along the beach.
H. R.
Beautiful coastline..dog friendly! Take a picnic because there is no food outlets.
G. M.
Awsome place great beach and views
C. S.
Lovely quiet peaceful place to visit. Lovely beach but a shame there is no cafe or a place for a drink. Toilets ok but not great. Worst aspect is the parking fees. £1 an hour or £6.00 which means you have to popping back and fore to pay for each hour you want to stay.
M. W.
Excellent place due to large sandy beach with suitable car park. Ideal for windsurfing.
B.
Stunning. Beach access very rocky so we had to turn back with our elderly collie. Great for dog walkers (as long as your dog is fit & agile, or small enough to be picked up) and view admirers. Plenty of benches up on the grassy common overlooking the beach, perfect for picnics.
S. D. R.
Public toilets available, free and in decent condition. Parking is £1 for 1 hour or £6 for 1+ hours, change only or you can pay via card over the phone. Big beach and dog friendly. There is a small cafe and often an ice cream van or other food truck at busy times.
D.
Beautiful views, lovely beach, plenty of room, lots of parking.
K. L. (.
I absolutely love it here and the sunset is amazing. The only downfall is the toilets close at a certain time and then even access to the disabled toilets is closed off
G. S.
Plenty of parking & dog friendly... Parking £1 for an hour but if you want to stay longer it's £6 for the day (peak season) There's usually a nice little van that sells coffee and snacks although not seen it post covid, yet! Nice coastal links to Southerndown too, if you've got the legs.
S. S.
Very nice beach to go with family as you can go for adventures in the rocks and there is no litter on the beach.
T. S.
Amazingly beautiful place, stunning view, clean beach, friendly locals.
J. K.
Lovely large open beach which is ideal to let your dog have a run. Also there is an ice cream van and another van selling hot drinks and snack food. Plus there are public toilets open during the day. Lovely place to go any time of the year.
Z. L.
Great beach, nice big waves here as well. A dog friendly beach, has a block of toilets and during peak times you can always count on a burger van and an ice cream van being there too. Pay and display only takes coins and not notes £6 all day isn't too bad though.
L. C.
Great place to walk by the sea with plenty of parking. Lots of interesting rocks and rock pools.
C. V.
Good parking with accessible toilets. Beautiful sand in wide a sweep. Rocky places to clamber over. Parts of the beach was made of pebbles. Sea clear and great for paddling.
S.
This place is so nice, the sunsets are amazing when you catch them

Most of the place is amazing, but careful of the odd pockets where barbeques have been held, I think 'the young ones' were there... The sort that leave foot prints and bottles.
Lovely place scared by primitives..
D. C.
Nice little beach, plenty of parking and lots of other doggies!
S. _.
Great beach, clean and lovely
I.
Loved this place. Amazing to take kids and pets. Car park is charged at 5 pound for the whole day. Can be difficult to get to some parts of the beach. There's toilet which are a bit dated and an ice cream van. Beautiful area
G. S.
Lovely pebble beach but parking is a little steep during the day.
M. P.
The tide was far out which makes a great sandy stretch for doggies. And there were quite a few there. The sun was a bit shy but popped out now and then. The wind was really cold! This makes a lovely winter walk spot. I didn't bother with any refreshments, finding nature really refreshing on its own.
S. C.
Great big beach when the tide is out, great for the dogs to stretch their legs. Even when the tide is in there is a nice coastal walk available. The parking isn't expensive either and I have heard from friends they dont check parking tickets so possible free parking!
D. M.
Loved it here and the little coffee van excellent
A. D.
Great views, one of the best places around. There is a large car park - pay&display. Toilets available but not in the best condition. Need refreshing. There are 2 or 3 mobile caterers around the car park. Hot dogs, fries, burgers in the first one. Ice cream in the second - never tried, can't tell the quality. Third one I had not seen menu, something about fried chicken. Not the safest place for children to swim, especially at the mouth of the river - at high tide the current is pretty strong, made even me feel uncomfortable and unstable (6'4, 300+ lbs) Nice beach, partly sand partly stones so children could enjoy jumping from mini cliffs. Not the safest game but extremely entertaining for my and other kids. Good place for walk.
C. M.
I love Ogmore is so natural just the toilets and ice-cream van. Have 2 mobile units selling food and drinks.
No arcades or bars. Dogs are allowed here.
Z. D.
Beautiful clean beach situated for the whole family.
F. L.
My Dad's soul rests here. My Mum and I visit every week.
N. E.
Obviously gets crowded on hot days but great beach, often has an ice-cream van on site, there is also a machine that accepts card payments when paying for parking which is super convenient
J. T.
Nice lovely beach to take a walk and relax, car parking little expensive here on the Sunday and no reduced cost
m. b.
Love ogmore but hideously expensive parking charges.
A. G.
What a beautiful place to enjoy some me time.
No signal on my phone.
Families enjoying quality time together making memories.
Plenty of parking and public toilets
If your lucky the ice-cream van may be their.
Enjoy folks 😆
S. T.
Lovely place, great walks
S. M.
Getting busier as it catches on with more people and it's popularity grows. A no frills, take it or leave it place, lovely beach and rock pools, found it safer than Rest Bay around the corner for kids swimming / learning to surf. Parking is a free for all, and at present is £6 per day.
M. J. H.
Great beach for families & animal lovers. Horse riding on the beach & dogs everywhere. Toilets & ice cream van, parking very expensive & pay on your phone no cash. Great for rock climbing & exploring rock pools.
S. C.
What’s not to like!
R. B.
Lovely beach, dog friendly, pebbles and sand.
E. W.
Don't go to the beach the other side of the river unless you want to swim back to your car
U. B.
A personal favourite.. brilliant for kids and old alike. A very clean and accessible beach. Parking can be difficult and very busy at peak times.
S. C.
Nice beach but parking charges are disgraceful. How they can justify charging people £6 to park their car when the intention is a free/cheap day out, especially for families who cannot afford it. We now live in a world where a day out on the sand is becoming unaffordable.
I completely agree with charges so that areas can be maintained but it is completely unjustifiable to charge so much beyond one hour when they know that a lot of people will stay just 1.5-2hrs. This is happening all across the Vale and with so much emphasis on people spending more time outside with their families to benefit health and wellbeing, more should be done by the Vale to ensure that families are not discouraged from being active
B. M.
Rugged sandy beach, good place for a long walk when tide is out, good fishing too.
D. M.
Lovely place to go for a walk when the tide is out nice sandy beach. Only problem is the price to park up for the day £6 and you need change. There is no sliding scale, the first hour is 1 pound but then it's only a day if you want to stay for 2 hours you have to pay for the whole day.
A. J.
Fantastic alternative to Bournemouth when you live in the Midlands
R.
Lovely beach, great scenery, well worth a visit
A. S.
Lovely beach, lots of rock pools and coves to explore
S.
Great beach but only 4 stars because you now have to pay to park out of season. Its dog friendly and in the summer has life guards. Don't swim near the river as its really dangerous but away from there its great for all waterspouts and for rock pooling. There are toilets and in the summer fresh pizzas cooked in situ.
M. R.
First visit here, and was not expecting it to be so nice! Was a lovely bright, sunny day, so whilst the wind was strong, it was warm. Would be very exposed on a colder day. Lots of rocks and pools for kids to explore. Ideal for flying kites. Lifeguards were on duty.
G. B.
We visited almost by chance and were enchanted by the simplicity and beauty of this spot. There are almost no facilities here, apart from some simple roadways, parking spaces (pay & display) and a toilet block. The foreshore is largely rocks and shingle though there is a flat area of sand at low tide, (though it's really not a "sandcastle" place). The "Coffee Pig" is a trailer horse box converted into a coffee and snacks (hot dogs/Welsh cakes) stand. It's the only retail outlet for miles and serves excellent coffee.
R.
A wonderfull cobble and sand beach stretching for miles. 1 star lost because parking is £1 for 1 hour or £6 over one hour, nothing in between.
C. E.
Great beach when tide is out you can explore rock pools, fly kites, build sandcastles, take a lovely long walk, swim in sea (lifegaurded in summer months) it simply relax. Car parking is £5 all day. Toilets in car park. I've cram can and coffee van in car park too. Great day out!
K. G.
Had a fab time "Our Puppy's 1st time to the beach"
V. H.
Lovely beach. Council car parking charges are aggressive and poor value at £1 for an hour but £6 for any longer. It can take twenty minutes to get from car park to water when the tide is out. Avoid the river ogmore which enters the sea on the beach, as it has a very strong current.
V. B.
Lovely beach (pebble or sand depending which area), plenty of space to sit and walk. Several nice food stalls to keep you going too.
S. S.
Because it is a place not far from where I live that you can go fishing or a walk, grab a cup of tea and Welsh cake from the tea and coffi trailer.
C. W.
Windy weather here in Ogmore by sea but still pleasant
S. A.
Beautiful view, pebbly beach and sandy beach all in one. Defo a hit with my son (hes 7yrs) and there were stalls you could buy coffee and drinks at. Public toilets available also.
A.
What a find! We've been wanting to visit here for some time so after a lovely day out at Porthcawl we decided to detour here on our journey home! The parking is beautifully landscaped & has views to die for! Add on lovely sheep roaming & nice beach it's a place you'll remember for a long time. Big downfall is the scale of parking charges, so out of sync with the very reasonable charges we find in most of Wales! Also as we were here around 6.30pm there seemed to be a lot of boy racers meeting & racing around posing & showing off! That aside we will surely return!
C. “. J.
BEAUTIFUL part of Wales. Lovely sandy beach, grassy areas, clean, chilled out. Nice little food stands and an ice cream van. How lucky people are to have houses here looking out over the sea. GORGEOUS.
G. K.
Beautiful walk along the beach or the river, dog friendly all year round and well woth a visit. While your there, we always go to the Watermill pub for a bit to eat as this place is also dog friendly and serves a great snack or meal, and a cold pint after a nice walk.
J. M.
Put only 1star before it was a mistake I thought I put 5 star.
J.
Brilliant beach costs about £6 to park for the day or £3 after 4 p.m. the toilets close around 6 p.m. but if you have access to disability toilet key then you could just use the disabled toilet as this one doesn't shut until very very Late. Always an ice cream van around and sometimes there's a van that sells food and drink.
N. C.
Fabulous dog friendly beach, open all year round. When the tides out the beach is huge. Basic facilities a carpark, toilet block and in the summer a manned life guard station and an ice-cream van, but what more do you need.
C. W.
Really good beach. Good waves for body boarding. Car parking is a little risky but if you're early on a hot day, you might manage a space.
J. N.
Spent the whole day here yesterday, brought back lots of memories from my childhood. So peaceful, unspoilt and tranquil and best of all, it hasn't changed. So pleased the council aren't into making money by allowing lots of buildings.
R. W.
The beach is great, but I'll never give a beach five stars when you have to pay for parking. No council services are offered so why should they take money from a place that was created naturally?
Nah, I won't bow down to this capitalist behaviour for a corrupt government that forced itself upon a people, and more importantly on a land they actually have no legal claim over.
H. D.
A good varied beach, rocks, pebbles, sand (at low tide) pretty clean. Simple facilities (toilets, ice-cream van, lifeguards) and ample parking. Charges are £1/hour or £5 for more than one hour.
N. T.
My favorite dog walking beach in the area. Fantastic scenery. Parking meters need rethinking as there is no 1-2 hour option and over 1 hour is very expensive at £5.
G. D.
Great place to go with the family for a very cheap day out. Watch out for the tide - it moves very fast
D. “. C.
We love this place!! A lot of people always visit the more tourist friendly and busier Porthcawl beaches. Ogmore By Sea Beach is a favourite of our sons who does not like really busy places, and this beach has plenty of stones to throw in at high tide, whilst being a sandy haven at low tide. Definitely the best of both worlds.
R. M.
Sandy beach with scenery of the Celtic sea and overview of the ocean. There is sandy beach along with a rocky landscape which gives you a pleasant feeling when you there. When it's windy, surfers enjoying the weather. After 4pm car parking is cheaper (free for disabled). It is worth a visit.
E. D.
ICE cream van, toilets and plenty of different beach areas to chose from, as well as fossil hunting and cliff top walks. Be warned that the sea can be very strong, so u less you want to surf I'd just sit on the stones and watch.
K. D. A. K.
Lovely beach to walk your dogs or relax. Lovely sand and rocks. Toilet facilities and paid car park. Lovely for a swim too.
S. M.
Lovely beach, but check tide times carefully as high tide means there's no sand left (perhaps obvious to some!!)
A. Q.
Bit windy and a bit chilly. Had our picnic in the van and an ice-cream each. Cost £1 for an hour's parking and ice cream sundae was £2.80 each.
Note. If you are longer than an hour in the car park the cost is £6 for 6 hours. There is no sliding scale here. More than an hour is £6.
R. M.
Lovely place to spend time but council parking charges are extortionate. £1.00 for the 1st hour then £5.00 there after. Quickest dog walk ever by the sea on New year's day.
R. H.
Lovely place to walk the dog when tide is low, but limited when high tide as majority of beach is covered. Parking is expensive and not free or reduced in Winter. There is car park further up the river that is free and would require a 20 minute walk to the beach.
s. M.
Lovely view of Porthcawl and great parking. Does get really busy on Sundays with the sun. The beach is dog friendly all year round and there is a small van that sells Welsh hotdogs. If your in the area a big must 😎
S. H.
Loved it ! Lovely place to pull up with the family and get the BBQ out. My toddler loved it and the dog was in her element. Very clean, affordable parking, will be going again.
S. C.
Lovely sandy beach, not too busy, although car park full. Parking is £6 for the day by cash or phone. Great for kids and dog walkers.
K. B.
Dog friendly, big size beach with a lovely walk down to the river. Toilets available. Need change for car park- cash only.
R. E.
Beautiful beach, but the car park on a bank holiday weekend was mayhem - with no regulation, cars park anywhere they can. When the time came to leave the exit was nearly blocked with cars parked and others trying to enter - barely an inch to spare each side of the car.
Facilities are limited - toilets in need of an update, an ice cream van with a long queue and a small coffee van.
m. m.
I let my photos tell you what I think. ❤️
B. (.
Great beach and estuary. Very limited parking and access issues.
D. L.
A nice enough beach with a big car park and toilets. Not much beach when the tide is high but plenty of space when it's low. Biggest part of the beach is on the other side of the river from the car park.
M. D.
Lovely beach with a good mix of open sand and rock pools. Lots of dog walkers.
Limited facilities although plenty of parking. Well work a day out for a more quite experience
t.
Beautiful coast, forever windy but unrivalled views ;)
j. s.
One of the best places in the UK to see the sun set.
G. B.
I has visited this place many years ago as child and had the opportunity to go and take my own son along with the dog. The beach is gorgeous. I was not disappointed. Fabulous place to visit.
P. J.
Ogmore By Sea straddles the Welsh Jurassic Coast between Portcawl and Southerndown, at the mouth of the Ogmore river. There is a very large pay and display car park running parallel to the pebble and sand beach, with rocky fossil filled ourcrops punctuating the tide line. The geology here is fascinating, and for those more active visitors the surf can be quite large and excellent for surfers of all capabilities. The village above the car park has very, very little by way of any retail or facilities, with just one or two small shops, but no pub or restaurant. This gets extremely busy during summer season, and despite its vast size the car park regularly gets absolutely crammed full due to the popularity of the area with locals and visitors alike. Ogmore castle is situated on the main approach road. and this Norman example is worth the 100 yd detour for a better look. All in all a great place for a day out, but remember there are no pubs, eateries nearby, and wgen the sun shines, its sure to get rather busy.
J. E.
A stunning beach, no shops etc so take your own refreshments. Excellent if you're looking for peace and relaxation.
G. L.
Lovely part of Wales. You need to pay to park but Not expensive. Take some loose change! Check the tide times - Low Tide is a must too make full use of the beaches
S. G.
Lovely beach nice and clean. Plenty of places to park £6 for the day. Dog friendly beach
M. C.
Attended Welsh Campers group meet at Ogmore By Sea Beach Car Park on Sunday 6th June 2021, great location, gorgeous day 🌞🚐😎
D. W.
It's OK for spending an hour or so by the beach and exploring the rock pools. Car park expensive if staying longer than an hour , 1st hour £1 over an hour £6!
J. N.
Great beach, massive car park can get rather busy on a nice day mind. We have some beautiful coastlines in Wales go and explore.
A. W.
A good dog walking or crab hunting beach. Minimal facilities, but that's by design. Some of the parking is best suited to 4 by 4's, and watch out for sheep droppings in the car park
A. S.
A beautiful beach with rock pools, open sand, toilets, parking and lifeguards. There is also a river leading onto the beach. Be careful as it can be dangerous due to the flow of water.
L. C.
Lovely beach, can get busy in good weather and when there's some surf but often quiet. Dogs allowed too, but was very clean from what we saw.
B.
Great place for all ages to walk and explore. Plenty of sand and rocks, great for walking the dogs and great fishing too. Sea not the cleanest but a great place to go and walk whatever the weather.
C. D.
A great place to spend your day, would recommend going early as it gets crowded later in the day, definitely explore the beach by walking the whole length of it, a good day out.
T. H.
Lovely beach but you need to remember that parking machines only take money and you have to be much more self sufficient than at major seaside towns
T. B.
It's some place, that you would not expect so much there. Walking, pony trek, sea and 1 1/2. From Northfield Birmingham, sorry I would recommend to any family day out, off the beaten track.. Injoy it so much.. Great for Dog lovers..
L. S.
Had a lovely walk along the coastal path with my daughter-in-law and granddaughter. It was windy but exhilarating. Stunning coastline with waves crashing into the rocks.
K.
Wow!! This is the word I must use to summarise this area. Have spent many happy and contented hours at Ogmore and on occasions have stopped over in our camper van with no interruptions. Depending on the tide and weather you can get the most glorious photos. Would highly recommend a visit.
W. A.
Wonderful place to visit . An amazing view . Great for swimming and day out trip. Beautiful view nature. Plenty of areas to enjoy. Free parking
S. B.
Fab clean beach. Easily accessible and basically has everything you need from toilets to rock pools and soft sand for castles
S. E.
Beautiful location to spend time with family including the dogs
K. M.
A rocky and sandy beach with lots of parking at the edge of the estuary. Lots of places to walk and has lifeguards in summer months so you can safely swim in the sea
J. S.
Lovely dog friendly beach.
S. D.
Wild & wonderful with the added bonus of free public loos open even in winter
C. M.
Love Ogmore by sea always lovely. 4 stars for poor facilities such as toilets & lack of a mobile shop perhaps that sells hot and cold drinks. There is one ice cream van that has a mile long queue non-stop all day long. Great for exploring with kids.
S. M.
Lovely dog friendly beach and nice coastal walks
W. L.
Beautiful little bay. Nothing there to spoil it. Car park is a little pricey, £1 for the first hour £5 for anything over the hour. Passable toilet facilities.
j. t.
Car parking price Not Good £1 for the first hr
£5 aftrewards. Not bad if you want to spend the day there. 1hr only gives you time visit the toilets. No good in the winter months.
L. C.
It is unspoilt by 20th Century development so as to offer the visitor unspoilt views of the Bristol Channel and the North Somerset coast down as far as Ilfracombe. You can also walk your dogs on the beach as well as the common all year round provided you NEVER let your dog chase the free roaming sheep and always clear up after them.
K. H.
Forget the tussle and bussle of Barry and Porthcawl, Ogmore is a nice peaceful beach that's suited more to dog walkers and people who don't want the arcade and foodie crowds. Toilets are on site and there's an ever present ice cream van and that's it. Lovely!
M. J.
Stoney beach with nice views across to Porthcawl, crossing a small river takes you to a large sandy beach; there is a small car park laid out as a series of interlinked patches and on some weekends a couple nice Barbecue food.
K. W.
A day out at ogmore is and always will be a family favourite of ours .
Ogmore is a delightfully peaceful part of our life with its beautiful grassed areas leading down onto the clean and welcoming beach with ample parking for IF you get there early enough .
N. G.
Easy parking with great views if your get there early, safe swimming in the sea with life guards present. Love how open it all is there.
A. B.
Brilliant beach, dog friendly areas, parking gets very busy on warm days and is not always possible unless you are early enough, parking is pay and display at ~£5 a ticket for the whole day.
D. W. M.
Beautiful place to go on a sunny day - the beach and surrounding areas are immaculate and always clean. Great place to capture some spectacular scenery if you're into photography too!
V. J.
Lovely stoney beach. Loads of rock pools land great views. Current from the river can be very strong so be aware of changing tides.
N. H.
Clean, and not too busy. Parking is fine, but the process to pay by card (phone with your reg then download an app with limited signal) is a bit of a pain though
S. D.
Lovely beach, dog friendly all year round, parking £1 1st hour then £6 for anything else.
L. T.
It's an extremely clean and beautiful beach
s. l.
Spaceous parking. £1 for 1st hour or £6/day lovely views over the bay. Camper's not welcome!
S. G.
Good parking for a small charge and good views out to sea and over to the adjacent Newton beach. Ice cream van and coffee van there. Beach mainly sandy and good places for barbecue.
L. B.
Really nice beach to visit
R. G.
great views, lovely relaxing beach or the grass hills at the top great for sitting and watching the world go by, I believe there are toilet facilities and ice cream van, also a couple of guys doing BBQ burgers for sale
R. R.
Lovely beach, especially for a cheap day out as there is nothing for the kids to spend money on. Parking is £6, so make sure you take change.
c. p.
Beautiful quite nor full of shops relaxing place to spend the day by the sea
D. W.
Has to be one of the best beaches along the vale coast
W. W.
Nice day out with family, dogs allowed in the off-season
B. J.
Ogmore is very peaceful and I've always enjoyed visiting. There toilets there and a lifeguard station as well as the ice cream van. A beautiful place no matter the weather.
J. D.
Awesome fun with the dog weather walking on the coastal path or throwing him in the sea
O. P.
Best beach in 2ales as the waves were perfect for bodyboarding in the afternoon and the sand was very nice to walk on but make sure you have flip flops or other footwear as the rocks are very unpleasant to walk on.
A. S.
Easy access to car park and toilets
J. P.
Great sandy beach and River estuary. Ruined castle and pretty modern village. Great for a day at the beach with the kids even though the view is over to Trecco bay and Porthcawl =]
C. R.
Lovely place to take the dog, car parking charge not very clear. 0-1hour £1, 1 hour £3 ??? Aren't they the same thing????
S. A.
Beach is brilliant with a little climb down the rocks. Car park is expensive for what it is. My car bottomed out big time in some really large holes.
D. R.
Go there regularly and it's always a nice place to be. Pity it's often crowded
G. P.
one of wales most beautiful beaches, dog friendly with great walks and plenty of parking, bring your own food and drink through as not many shops near
M. S.
Nice. I've been twice.
J. R.
A lovely beach. Very picturesque with a good mix of sand, pebbles and rock pools. Easy parking and toilets available.
M. V.
One of the best beaches in the UK I have ever been too. Very lively and perfect for dogs.
J. R.
Love Ogmore with its unspoilt shoreline, amazing stretches of sand when the tide's out and the sheep that come to graze right beside the beach. Fascinating fossils and hidden rocky coves. Never a dull moment here!
J. b.
Lovely coast line. Sandy beach's numerous rock pools to investigate. Large carpark with toilets and ice cream van. Nice walks
B. W.
great place to go if you like the beach and nice walks dogs are allowed but be carefull as sheep do run all over the place roads included and i highly recommend waynes ice cream the van is parked right opposite the toilet block so easy to find
J. I.
A truly beautiful place, calming and ancient.
R. P.
Beautiful beach but they have stopped you from parking on the grass now so parking is limited. Had a brill day though.
A. K.
Nice and big beach for spending time, barbecue
G. F.
Superb place and if the weather is with you, what a fantastic spot to take the family and the dog. Plenty of great walking too!
G. B.
Lovely views great beach
P. H. W.
Great place to go. Only draw back is The Coffi Pig takes ages and ques are long to get any coffee or refreshments. Best to take your own with you.
G. M.
I love this area. Big waves ...lovely walks. Only gripe is the price to park. Surely the council could make it more reasonable!!!!
J. M.
Beautiful beach. Our dog loves our walks there and we finish up by the river estuary where he can wash down with fresh water.
D. O.
Lovely walks and nice tidal beach
S. D.
Clean, popular beach. Manned by life guards. Popular for beach barbeque but astronomical parking charges. £1 for 1hr or £6 /Day!
N. H.
Lovely beach with both sand & rocky areas. Fairly quiet when we visited. Plenty of parking immediately adjacent to the beach.
H. A.
A nice beach but its better when the tide is out which can be a long wait, flies do swarm on the grassed areas, lots of people thought the same, still worth a visit.
N. H.
Really lovely beach with toilets, bins etc but can't understand why there is no rest room or café for a cuppa. Ice cream van tho' so alls not lost! 😊
R. S.
A fabulous place to walk, clear your mind, see the waves, take a dip. No commercial distractions, has WCs, ice cream van and a mobile coffee shop and that's your lot. Simply Magic.
M. P.
I love this beach, it's not changed in the 50 years I have been coming here, don't expect anything but unspoilt beauty.
L. w.
Great beach for rock pooling, paddling, surfing, kite surfing. The beach does get covered when the tide is in but whatever its a great visit.
D. L.
Plenty of room, lots of parking areas, nice clean facilities and so nice to see people adhering to the social distancing rule!
a. a.
The council are really starting to extort visitors with the price of parking, the area is really beautiful. 5 star for the area minus 2 for us allowing the extortionate prices.
L. K.
Lots of beach, sand and rocks, when the tide is out. Lots of parking which can be pricy. Good for dogs all year round.
J. D.
Best beach in Wales. Beautiful
s. w.
Stunning beaches, bit difficult to get to the sand because of the pebbles but once on the beach, glorious. Loved every second and will go again in a heartbeat.
R. T.
Grew up on this beach. Very special place in my heart.
This comes with a warning though...the water can be extremely dangerous. Keep a look out for information from the Coast Guard.
Sadly every year something awful happens.
j. l.
Lovely beach totally uncommercial, so children can play on beach, rock pools without the distraction of shops and fairgrounds. Very nice icecream van.
R. B.
Love ogmore By sea walked the coastal path then stopped off at the Three golden cups for a drink and some food. Outside service and eating staff were fantastic.
J. V.
Plenty of parking, great for walking and great views
J. C.
A great place to enjoy. Either sandy or pebble beaches. Great views. And good for walking yourself or your pets.
S. E.
Great coastal location for a walk.
R. w. (.
Lovely beach and nice place to watch sunset also great place to walk dog can let dog off to run about and all other dogs seem to be friendly.
N. L.
Ogmore is a gem. Excellent for children and in the summer when the sun is shining you could feel you are anywhere in the world. It is a beautiful coastline and well worth a visit.
L. B.
Amazing place to walk and spend the day! Lots of parking. Beautiful scenery and fresh air.
T. F. w. C. &. C.
Beautiful Place. Clean and Tidy, stunning views.
Had a wonderful day wirh all family
L. M.
Price to park is ridiculous. £6 for more than an hour. Also no working pay machines so pointless but lovely views
L.
Lovely coastline and walks along shore, river and to Southerndown bay. Toilets were closed on bank holiday unfortunately .
M. D.
Really beautiful and relaxing excellent place for getting away from it all and its dog friendly, get there you won't regret it
D. J.
Love this place stunning views, the beach, the hills, different events throughout the year, you can paddle, swim ,surf, going for walks,
S. m.
Good for some as you can park with view of coast with some flat walks but gets very busy and better beaches available locally
W. W.
Nice beach but people not cleaning up after their dogs in car park area
T. p.
Lovely quiet beach with beautiful views. Never been here before, but will definitely revisit
K. H.
plenty of parking. life guard on beach. loos and a snack van.. pebble beach but sand when tide is lower
S. G.
Beautiful bay between bridge to Porthcawl... very nice place to play surfing because it's strong wave... Beautiful nature between the seaside And the river together. .
R. W.
Lovely beach, plenty of parking, dog friendly, BBQs allowed, water sports hire available, toilets on site.
C. P.
My favourite place:)
D. L.
So beautiful really enjoyed camping up here and looking around and if you come up here you've got to have one of the pasties they are lovely
T. G.
Love Ogmore, normally get there twice a week depending on the tide. Would have given 5 stars but the car park is a RIP off
K. B.
Easy access to beach. Weather poor when visited and tide in but still an attractive rugged spot. Pay parking close to beach.
d. c.
I love this beach, it is good for family and it is dog-friendly . There are public toilet and a van with fantastic burger.
P. D.
Lovely lovely beach, Wales should be proud ! Toilets and food are here but make sure you have change as £1 for a hour £6 after that for the rest of the day
Y. E.
Plenty of parking, large beach an great for dogs, was a bank holiday but plenty of room too. Will be going back
W. B.
Lovely place nice views but parking is extremely costly don't buy a all day tickets just buy the cheapest and assess how long your going to stay and put another on when it runs out.
r. b.
We so fortunate to be be surrounded by beautiful Mountains. And so near to stunning coastline. Ogmore it's stunning views and beautiful beaches.
M. C.
Lovely clean beach. Not many facilities there so go prepared. Sandy with loads of rock pools and climbing for kids.
F. B.
The way people are expected to pay for parking seems stupid to me. Why can't people just pay for the amount of time they're there. I think the options are stay for the hour, one price, stay all day another price. Nothing in between.

G. C.
Great place for resting. During busy days, very hard to find parking
D. J.
Beautiful beach, not a lot of rubbish due to regular efforts of voluntary beach cleaners, still get some inconsiderate dog owners, shame about the car parking charges.
d. l.
Place of natural beauty.. not happy that the car park charge continues in the winter.... spoils it for dog walking.... daily charge can mount up.. so unfair as I am a local resident
M. E.
Lovely beach. Overpriced car parking charges. Be nice if a cafe was opened in the car parking area
K. K.
Clean beach, love the cliff walk, car park pay display could be clearer, could do with toilets at both ends of beach
J. M.
No cafe down here and the parking is quite expensive but it's a nice and undercrowded beach.

Great beach, no shops other than a couple of food or ice cream vans so really cheap. Lots of rocks to climb on too.
