Parked at the top which is where I'm guessing witches point is (for only £1 compared to down at Dunraven beach £5) and walked down. Loads of fossils on the beach. Spectacular views and very shallow for paddling. Great location for a picnic

Absolutely stunning, wished we'd found somewhere to stay over beforehand. Reccomend a careful walk down the path to temple beach. There is parking near the entrance to Dunraven Castle or at the top of the hill, equally the nearby Three Golden Cups lets visitors park there too.

Stunning scenery. Quite beach, rock pools, views of north Devon. Enjoyed a scramble around the headland at low tide, but be warned it’s not easy and caution is needed.

Stunning views from this coastal nature reserve. Small car park but with overflow spaces available and a seasonal shop. Lots of different walks to take across cliffs, woodland and walled gardens. Could easily spend a whole day there.

LOVELY SHORT WALK TO THE POINT FROM THE CAR PARK. WELL WORTH A VISIT TO THE PUB AT THE TOP OF THE HILL AFTER THE WALK.

I love witches point some great fishing but watch the tdes and weather as it can be dangerous

It’s a lovely, dramatic landscape, showing ancient settlements, the ruins of the petulantly demolished Dunraven House, and with great views of the Bristol Channel, England and the Jurassic coastline. Would be a great place for a peaceful walk, but right on the furthest outcrop it’s infested with fishermen. Watch out for discarded honking fish guts, tangles of line and hooks and just generally litter. I’m not sure why they bother. It was fished out years ago. As regards the name, in Welsh it’s Trwyn Y Gwrach (Witch’s nose), this was given because the shape of the promontory resembled the long hooked shape of said nose, not because of any occult meetings on it. However, if you like the drama of it, this was a place for smugglers (and some wreckers). A Google of this area will tell you of the tragic Vaughan family that once owned the house.

The high cliffs outcropping between Dunraven Bay and Cwm y Buarth also known as Dunraven Point from the 19th Century. It seems so innocent and idylic only feet from the edge, then looking down, there is no warning of the drop to the rocks of Witches Cove below. Perhaps the origin of the old name here has a more sinister meaning, although with the iron age hill fort nearby may give the area a sense of other worldliness. Certainly it is a site of early habitation. Caratacus, the leader of the iberian like Silures tribe in the 1st Century is said to have been here while resisting Roman occupation.

Kayaked round from Dunraven Bay. Really quiet in comparison. Highly recommended and easier to get to than walking!
