Reviews of Brighton Beach
L. D.
What an incredible beach! There’s so much to soak in, and the seaside generously lends itself to those not duly inclined to swim. There are nearby restaurants, activities, amusement rides and so much more. England’s coasts both offer exemplary and enriching experiences. Brighton is a unique place and worth your visit.
A truly memorable and enchanted visit for us. Highly recommended!
B. M.
Nice beach and very quite atmosphere. However, the restaurants around the beach are poor and not sell variant seafood or even fresh Fish and Chips. Everything is made from frozen products. The daunts are amazing their

A large Pebble beach that is very well taken care of, not sand but still soft beneath your feet as the stones move with every step, not for the unstable but having fallen upon these stones it would be hard to hurt one's self, during winter I was told I could walk my dogs as I did and it was a wonderful time and beautiful scenery
P. K.
This beach is really awesome place for sun bathing 🚿. I almost slpt for some times while taking sun bath. Very cool climate when I visited@ 2018 September range.

What a beautiful beach! We went to here during weekend from London . The train took around 1hour 30 minutes . There are very crowded with a lot of activities .Food is most likely Fish and chip

Fortunate enough to roll down the last bit of UK summer on this beach...
Travelled from Slough but it is Worth the time & money.
Sea is something that i enjoy from the bottom of my heart and this coast is really nice, clean and big. You can see the Windmills deep inside the sea. There is an option to get a boat on rent.
It is very near to the Brighton station you can easily walk down.
While you walk, there are plenty of options to grab a quick snack, beer and anything you like.
You will see a lot of Costal birds waiting for the tides to bring the Fishes to the cost for the Survival. We were able to see this very closely and i sent back many fishes into the see who were stuck on the coast.
The next thing you will want to experience is British Airways i360. It is a good one you get 360 view of everything Sea, City and much more.
The sunset is not the best but just when the sun is 70% down dramatically the color and everything changes and it looks superb so i will suggest to wait until it's down.
Overall a great experience and will come back next year.

Its quite good to come from london over weekend. Nice place to roaming around. Brighton pear quite expensive. If you come for swimming then you will disappoint, not good place for swim. However depending on your choices.
K. B.
Popular pebble beach which runs along both sides of the pier. There are plenty of activities and refreshments available, walking along at different levels, a miniature railway and buses to help you get about.
It can get crowded in the excellent weather, but due to its size, you can hopefully find space if you are willing to explore.
J. H.
It’s nice on a hot day but why can’t they provide more bins and crack down on littering so selfish people don’t leave their litter and rubbish strewn everywhere? It gives the impression the council or whoever is responsible doesn’t care and can’t be bothered, which judging by the appalling dirty state of the rest of the town is probably the case. It wouldn’t hurt to lay on a few showers either but again, the powers that be cant be bothered and always have an excuse.
A. V.
Really nice place. Busy on a good day. Overcrowded on a sunny day 😃 nice walk along the beach both ways.
J.
Nice beach, note it is not a sand beach
Lots for the family to do, arcades and rides close by, places to eat and drink on the seafront
Able to do BBQ’s (Council I’ve special waste bins along the path)
Most of beach is dog friendly
Z. D.
Great day at the beach. Perfect weather to go swimming and relax. While it is a pebble beach it is still just a fun spot on a nice summer day.
M. B.
Stunning morning on the beach today, sunshine, good vibes, friendly people, nice cafes / ice cream parlours, just perfect
P. S.
A great summer experience when in England, the stone beach is different than sand but has its own unique charm.
K. J.
Got a group ticket from London St Pancras to Brighton for £9 on a Saturday so very accessible. Did the open top bus tour which was OK. Walked along the undercliff to Rottingdean beach. Nice day out, would go back again to explore more.

Another Great Beach of Uk.
Better for families with small kids, No Sand , No mess.
It is pebble beach.
Saved our 1 hours looking for taps and than shower kids who have always sand on every part of body.
Nice and clean long beach, you have a day long walk I believe.
Plenty restaurants and bars for everyone.
Big parking around too.
Would love to go back soon.

One of the best UK 🇬🇧 beach 🏖 you have have to visit when you are in the UK 🇬🇧.
You can park near of the beach 🏝 if you’re driving with your car 🚗, it’s not too expensive. Brighton Pier is very nice for children too many exciting, food 🥘 and bar and restaurant specially Fish 🐠 and Chips 🍟.
You can have a good 👍 meal 🥘 for you and your family.
End of the Pier has a lot of rides for teenager’s and children.
Also, next to beach you have too many open bar for drink 🍹 and meal and shopping 🛍 things.
I recommend you need to see Brighton Beach.
A. A.
Great day out one of the best beaches I have ever visited would highly recommend, friendly people with great views and BBQ after 6pm was perfect finish to the day.
M.
Awesome one of the best beaches in England
N. R.
Beautiful pebble beach to hang out with your friends or family. Had such a lovely time here. But beware of the birds if you plan to sit and eat there.
Z. P.
Only had one sunny day unfortunately but it was really lovely and so much to see and do.
The promenade is excellent .
Something for all.
A. K. M.
I visited Brighton Beach with my friends from London and I really had a great time here. This beach is so beautiful and pleasant. People were enjoying with family and friends. There are lots of restaurants near to this beach where you have have some good sandwiches and burgers and also can drink beer. Must visit place.
N. B.
One of my most favourite 😍 beach 🏖
a. k.
Very well maintained beach. Loved it.
H. M.
Brighton is always worth a visit. Great restaurants and fish & chip shops. The pier has a lot to offer with entertainment, arcades and rides. On a sunny day, the sea is lovely.
A. S.
A beautiful large beach. As for the seaside towns, my favorite thing about Brighton
P. K. L.
Amazing stony and sand beach. Vibrant colours and all round lively, casual and friendly atmosphere.
s.
Great place plenty to do. If you can stay for a few days you still won't have seen it all. Plan your parking and have more then one option as they fill up quick. A walk through town you'll find plenty of shops. The pier is great fun for families. Summer time lots of foods, and amusements galore. It's a rocky beach, but fun to still be had.
w.
Seemed like a perfect place to relax in sunny times with family and friends...
Like most beaches, there are shops, stores, food joints and many more things nearby to keep you busy which is always good.
V.
Great place to spend your weekend. You can enjoy walks or bike rides on the long beautiful beach. Plenty of shops and places to eat and entertaining options for kids. Make sure you bring flip-flops, as the beach is full of stones. We have really enjoyed swimming in the morning around 9-10am, as tide was low, the water calm and you could walk on a sandy part, which normally hidden during day time.
C. M.
Such a lovely place. All our family memebers enjoyed our visit to the beach and pier. There are many places to visit.
Plenty of history in this town.
I'm so glad that we made the journey to visit.
Would highly recommend to come down and spend a few days in this beautiful ppace.
A. F.
Vast pebbled beach, locals visits for holiday, day trips, swimming, running, lodging, beach huts and lively eateries. Brighton palace pier, British Airways i360.Parking on street starts from £1.20-£4.50 for an hour depends on location to beach.
D. D.
Really nice place to walk on a sunny day. There is so much to see that I didn't expect. So many restaurants and places to get a drink, some of them had live music, inside and out. There are also quite a few art galleries which was a nice surprise. Thare was a place to hire surfboards, a place to hire bikes. Go take a stroll I don't think you will be disappointed! If you like this review, can you please click the like symbol below. Thank you!
z.
Nice place to go and relax... Do not expect white sand there.. The beach is full of brown pebbles so you won't mess up your feet.. Water is not the carebean one so I personally won't plan to swim there..
Á. C.
Beautiful view, great experiance for everyone who is visiting the ocean for first time. Clean and fresh air, you can find nice place to drink, eat or play too. I would suggest to get some beach shoes or slippers to not kill your foot on the pebbles. But be able to walk close to the water. The public toilet on the beach is awful and its best to visit it with some wet wipes to keep yourself clean.
K. H.
All in all a nice beach, it's like every south English beach, stoney and cold, but once you are in rhe water it's very refreshing. Personally I think stone beaches are better than sand ones, because you don't have to get the sand out of every part of your bags and clothes and stuff after sitting down.
The Promenade and the view on Brighton Beach is amazing, as you can see the old West Pier Ruin in the water, and the new Palace Pier more in the east.
The Beach in Brighton, near the Pier, is not as nice as the beach in Hove, because in Brighton there are too many People and it's just not a nice Atmosphere to relax or have a nice swim.
S. “. T.
This is the British Seaside at its best but if you come on a hot day in the weekend expect crowds. Some great pubs and restaurants as well as small shops so something for everyone including playparks for kids. Its a great way to while away an hour in Summer.
R. A. L.
It's not the classiest of seaside towns but it is a lively, cosmopolitan place, especially if you're young. Don't bring a bucket and spade to the beach however as there's only stones.... A good place to go with the family during the day and plenty to do at night too.
K. H.
Beautiful pebble beach with so much to do! We live a good 2 hours away from the sea so it's lovely when we get to visit the coast. This beach is lovely, it's the first time we have taken our children to a pebble beach but they loved it!
I picked up some discarded rubbish - there are lots of bins about but some people are just lazy?! We were here for two days and had one overcast and one sunny day - both were lovely spending time splashing in the water and having a lovely walk.
There are lots of nice shops and places to get food and drink along the sea front - we had some lovely ice creams ☺
Our children had fun building pebble towers, playing in the sandpit and playing in some of the parks we found along the sea front. We spent some time watching some locals playing basketball and watching other people skateboarding.
It really is a lovely beach with a really nice atmosphere.
r. j. r.
Playground of generations of punters. All
the fun of the seaside, whatever your fancy.
Swimming, boating, fishing, eating, drinking,
and sunbathing. The seafront has undergone
some excellent and massive improvements.
Great job. Light railings, Brighton. Dark, Hove.
Y.
Beautiful beach with lots of restaurants and cafes, the pier is the main attraction. Can get cold & windy during the winter with some rain. No sand though lots of pebbles. Great for long walks
A. L.
Is the perfect place for spend time with friends and family, enjoying the sea, the sun, sometimes having a little BBQ. Sometimes is nice and quiet and sometimes it's full of people and energy. The perfect place for everyone!
A. G.
Beautiful beach side and full of life, music n people, food and beer.. a very busy beach but still a happening place to hang out with friends and family. Start early especially if you are planning on a weekend, it may be hard to find a parking even in the parking structure. There are some nice cosy beer cafe's around and sea food of course. I totally recommend the beach and Brighton city to drive around, check out the streets and beautiful houses. Loved it.
A. F. G.
A beach. With pebbles. With saltwater. An assortment of restaurants line the shore. Music play during summer. Gets really cold in winter. Lots of seagulls. Has a pier. Pier has an arcade. Also rides. Ooh ice cream. Yup. Nice beach. Walk far enough and it's a naturists deight. Yeah. Quite the beach. Pebbles hurt though. Wear slippers. And sunscreen.
A.
Love this beach, go here every year for a holiday. I love this history behind it and how pretty the beach is. It needs more fish and chip shops as the one i used to go to turned into a restaurant. 1000000/10 😊🤩
G. S.
Stone beach but that did not take away from the beauty of the whole place. Weather was not the best when I went yet the beach was still relaxing to walk next. Its also dog-friendly which is rare to find do I highly recommend!
W. T. P.
It's beautiful when the sun is setting: every time it looks different and many come and walk along the prominade to see it.
T. N.
Very lovely beach with lots of restaurants, bars, clubs and fast-food vendors within walking distance. Therese no sand, however the rocks on the beach are rounded for seating comfort, but I doubt that you can play volleyball on the beach. there is a bike lane that run along the beach, I would highly recommend renting a bicycle through the BTN app for a cheap, breezy ride.
A. Z.
Its a lovely clean beach, with lots of cool attractions and shops nearby. The only downside is that a couple of the shops are very overpriced, but most were only slightly overpriced, as you'd expect with a seaside town. During the day it can get quite busy, but I reccomend going in the evening or at night, as it's quite empty and most of the shops are still surprisingly open, but be warned, a fair few of the fair rides/attractions will be closed, including the zipwire.
N. I.
Beautiful beach with pebbles.Easy to find a parking. One of the most popular beach in the UK. Great for family day out…A lot of fun rides & foods are available.
D. B.
The place will always provide a special nostalgic feeling, from the views on Pier side to the waves and sea breaze at nightfall. The air felt refreshing and such a great sunny day to visit made the day perfect. A place everyone seems to return too. I understand them.
A. K.
Good day out plenty of shops about. The high street area is not very clean lots of rubbish about, but the sea front good with plenty places to eat and drink.
A. A.
I loved the place, the view and the town.
However, the beach is not suitable for any activity like camping, barbecue or even kid's play, as the ground consists of only stones.
k. s.
My wife and I heard a lot about this place and we can only say that we were not disappointed at all. It is a beautiful place with so many things to do around. The climate feels a little cooler than the rest of the country. The beach is hardly 10-15 min walk from the Brighton railway station. Not the smoothest of beaches around but I believe you are definitely going to like it. It usually is very crowded and finding food shouldn't be a problem at all.
A. M.
Beautiful and clean beach. It has some beach activities too.The pier is very long with lots of rides for kids and yummy food.It is lovely to watch sunset while standing on the bridge.
N. V.
Beautiful place at any time of the day, season and weather!
S. V.
A Great place to do BBQ and picnic.... but it’s allowed to start fire after 6pm
M. R.
Interesting and beautiful beach. Completely made of small pebbles- not sand! A nostalgic boardwalk with a few rides and games. Check out all the shops down the "lanes" walk around and eat at one of the manyyy restaurants! It was my favorite spot outside of London!
M. K.
Lovely seaside town ❤️ My third time coming and today was so much fun in the sun ☀️ next to the seaside ...such a beautiful view of the beach when you on the Brighton Pier ...so much to do and many great restaurants and bars to chose from
M. S.
Its a very nice gravel beach (no sand) with a lot of wind and very clean water. A nice soothing place. There's a fisherman't museum nearby.
H. H.
Lovely pebble beach for an afternoon stroll on a winter’s day.
L. T.
A merry beach town, lots of food and drinks, suitable for all ages - from families to group of friends or even individual. You got it all there! PS the seagulls will cheer you up if the people there dont lol
R. M.
Brighton beach is beautiful along with all its wonderfully colourful locals! I much prefer the beach outside of busy tourists seasons/weekends as it’s easier to walk along and enjoy without too much litter being strewn about! Nothing beats a stroll along Brighton beach while people grab a drink or bite to eat on the seafront shops and music is being strummed!
K. N.
A long clean pebble beach. Worth to enjoy the Sea view right next to the pier.
L. N. G.
Brighton never cease to amaze me ❤️ the beach is the best, there are always people here but is never too crowded. The sunsets here are always spectacular.
M. Q.
Was full packed in Mid August. Water is clean but it's not a Sandy beach. Bring an thick soft under sheet to sit on it.
M. H.
I went February 2019 and it was windy and cold but very beautiful. The waves were crashing so no swimming!
S. I.
Its a nice place. It gets really busy in the week end. There’s pebbles no sand so wear comfortable shoes. It has nice views. There are a lot of fish and chip shops.
P. B.
Very peaceful and chill place to go for a walk on the beach(in the winter at least). Safe to come here with young children and just a pleasant place to spend time.
L. C.
Beautiful beach and many restaurants and shops to visit. You could ride the little train. Walk the pier and or do all the activities on the pier. Many good coffee and Gelato places.
Ł. M.
British style beach. If you wonder why British people visit mediterranean beach spots a lot, here is your answer.
A. W.
It's perfect for those who love rocky beaches and are prepared for a good dose of foot massage when walking on these. It's best to come prepared in terms of water footwear and a yoga mat (better than a blanket or towel). They rent out the sun chairs and sun beds which is great, albeit pricey but didn't see any parasols. There's loads of people on sunny days but the atmosphere is nice. Plenty of places to grab a bite or a refreshment. The Pier provides a seemingly endless source of entertainment for all ages too.
Z. S.
If you want to enjoy the sun and have some barbecue cooked at your side then do visit this place . I loved it hope you enjoy it when you visit.
V. R. W.
Went on a 2 hour boat trip with my middle son and youngest daughter to spot with Brighton Dolphin Project to spot dolphins and close up of wind turbines. Highly recommended!
J. P.
Parking expensive £16 but I was able to park at the seafront, as I guess it was raining and mid week and term time. The lanes are really nice and I did enjoy my day there I was however a but disappointed with the pavilion, it looks tired and dirty from the outside, I didn't go in as again it was expensive £15 per adult. The work that is being carried out along the sea front means that to get back up to the street level in some parts you have to walk up through the fencing which is really intimidating and the smell is not plesent. But it gets 5 🌟 as the people I met there were amazing and the food in the kiosks was well priced and the staff all friendly. I am sure when the season gets started in ernest Brighton will be a good place to visit.
C. N.
Such a great place to spend your day off. I love the mix between old and the new town. 😍
B. F.
Beautiful pebbles beach, with clear water, plenty of restaurants, places where to enjoy drinks and food. Good for walking, cycling, running..
O. M. S.
I had never seen a beach with small rocks instead of sand. I went there during April, the weather was kinda cold and I couldn't really imagine how one might sunbathe there during summer, since those small rocks are kinda uncomfortable.
It's a nice place for a short one day trip. I recommend visiting the Brighton Palace Pier. Great place for losing all your pennies to a minions game.
M. L.
Miles of pebbles, the summer playground of many previous generations - although god knows it's dull. There are just miles of energy sapping walks available to burn off the doughnut calories. Rubbish for entertaining the kids if you are on a budget, but great for tiring them out.
A. H.
It’s a great beach just wished it was a sand beach rather than a pebble beach
M. S.
Its a very nice gravel beach (no sand) with a lot of wind and very clean water. A nice soothing place. There's a fisherman't museum nearby.
T. U. C. M.
Great trip to Brighton with my nephews lovely place nice beach lots to do
Y. M.
Brighton as a whole is lovely. The beach is relatively clean. There are a lot of cafes and bars along the beach as well as the brighton pier and a few other attractions.
A. A.
I loved the place, the view and the town.
However, the beach is not suitable for any activity like camping, barbecue or even kid's play, as the ground consists of only stones.
R.
Great beach. Always good to escape London and it’s only 90 minutes away. Also fantastic for people watching!
A. F. G.
A beach. With pebbles. With saltwater. An assortment of restaurants line the shore. Music play during summer. Gets really cold in winter. Lots of seagulls. Has a pier. Pier has an arcade. Also rides. Ooh ice cream. Yup. Nice beach. Walk far …
M. H.
I went February 2019 and it was windy and cold but very beautiful. The waves were crashing so no swimming!
B. F.
Beautiful pebbles beach, with clear water, plenty of restaurants, places where to enjoy drinks and food. Good for walking, cycling, running..
S. D.
Beautiful and spacious beach to hang around with friends and family.
P. C.
Lovely beach, and currently quiet enough that you can social distance (though not sure how long that will last). A lot of shops are still closed, but lots of places to get fish and chips!
D. P.
Nice place to visit, although it's a stone beach for those that haven't visited before. My daughter loves the pier and there are some decent looking restaurants on the beach.
A. A.
Great beach my fav alternative to hove beach. Catch low tide and the sea goes right out, exposing the sand 😎
M. S.
Truly breathtaking beach, perfect for chilling on a Sunday afternoon. Accompanied by local shops and cafes that you shouldn't miss.
J. H.
So surprised with Brighton beach! With the weather been so good it was like been abroad... I felt like I was in spain ☀ lots of quirky and cute bars along the beach and the British Airways 360 is awesome to go on! There were also live singers up and down the beach which was cool!
L. H.
Brill weather the day we went but horrendous traffic so not much time to do stuff. Sea very rough. Train ride to the marina which has lovely shops & places to eat. Plenty of fish & chips, ice creams etc.
P. J.
Brighton Beach is located in between Brighton and Hove city Council, south coast of England, UK and 76 km from south of London. Beach is always crowded in the summer season. Lots of fast food restaurants, public restrooms and public transport are available near the beach. Shopping mall, Car parking, Museum, Restaurants are find easily opposite the beach. Better to go with friends and families.
i. s.
Pebble beach so no sand fuss post fun on the beach. Fine water, toilets available, food places, mini golf, beach volleyball(special sand court) etc. One day trip of relaxation is enough for brighton. You can also go to brighton pier palace for an amusement park adventure.
A. T.
It was just a nice place to hangout with one's friends, good whether permitting. There are bars and restaurants along the beach. I ordered a brandy and coke which I took with me onto the beach. There are Art Shops and other memorabilia shops. I have been going to Brighton for years, but the highlight for me this time was the zip-wire. It was amazing fun.
A. H.
It’s a great beach just wished it was a sand beach rather than a pebble beach
A. R.
On the warmest day of 2019 we were lucky to be Brighton. After visiting the Laines and lunch at Wetherspoons pub we headed to the beach and the pier.
J. C.
The beach is very beautiful. There are restaurants and attractions. There is pier with attractions for adults and kids. Nearly is centre. Parking isn't free. The Beach is long.
e. e.
Great seaside resort. Fairly crowded. Amazing coastline .
C. C.
Lovely place for a walk, plenty of things to do and great restaurants for good food :D
M. S.
Brighton is the bright idea for the summer, to take the train from London and escape 50 miles away to get some tan and enjoy seeing the sea.
C. F.
Lovely day On Brighton Pride day 2018. There was hardly anyone on the beach at 10.30am as the photo show. By 2.30pm after the pride show it was pack. I love Brighton I love the people the shops and arcade. You can spend very little or a lot of money coming here you will alway enjoy yourself.
M. G.
From Singapore visiting Brighton beach. What is so special about the beach as compared to Singapore's beaches? Well, you find thick layers of pebbles instead of sands here. It's so comfortable to spread yourself on these pebbles for a good suntanning without getting into yourself messing up with sands. However I don't see many people swimming and there's no sea sports. The beach is lined up with lots of food and beverages stores stretching along a 1 km beach. Looking up for a public toilet is challenging cos there's only one at the beach and it closes at 5pm. Driving there from Central London is about 2 hours. Finding a parking pace is also challenging and the hourly charge cost between £5 and £10. Great to be there in the day. When evening comes, the whole beach is filled will music and many people are seen dancing freely. You won't regret going there.
S. A.
Lovely beach just a 1.5h train ride away from London. Lots of great bars and restaurants, awesome fish and chips and a great, chilled vibe.
S. D.
Beautiful and spacious beach to hang around with friends and family.
C. H.
A stony beach but clean. A busy seaside with lots of shops, bars and places to eat tucked under the arches along the promenade.
l. b.
Brighton beach is very well maintained and quite litter free. It is nice that your are allowed to have. a bbq and also the volks railway that runs alongside the beach is great. There are some vintage penny arcades along the front that is great
L. A.
I've only seen this beach at nice but im sure the sea is beautiful during the day. Since I was there only at night it would be nice to have a bit more lights around since it made me feel a bit unsafe being there and kept looking over my shoulders every time I hear people walking on the rocks hoping for them to not come my way (I'm a young woman and was alone, I was there because I was too early, waiting for the coach + had nowhere else to go) its scary that there ain't much lights since if somthing really bad happens to a person, nobody is able to see what is going on to help.
F. H.
Nice place but it seemed like entire Europe was visiting it in summer. It was rather busy. Swings were full. Cafes were full. Restaurants were full. Too many loud cars with silencers out, I mean come on, police need to take action. Who would want to have nice coffee on side of the road and watch beautiful beach while noisy scooters, bikes and silly cars with extremely loud noise... No, I didn’t like it. I would wish the authorities to take serious action. I ended up having headache in evening. The beach itself is clean and rather busy. Nothing very special I’d be honest. There are better beaches in the country. Cheers.
M. B.
Very impressed and welcome sea beach

Stoney beach, however it is nice to walk up and down the pier ( social distancing in place ). Relaxing watching the waves and love the mix of cultures.
S. B.
Nice area with a good mix of people. Plenty of places to eat and quite enjoyable in the summer. The beaches are OK but too pebbly for my liking.
B. G.
It's a very good place for photography, never know what or who is going to turn up. Always interesting .
G. E.
This place was all amazing, came here at the evening just to see the sunset and sure I can say that I saw everything and it was splendid. The scenery and different places I could see around was astonishing and this is another place I would certainly visit again.
O. G.
Crowded on Weekends
N.
Not a fantastic beach - the pebbles are massive and uncomfortable to sit on and the water is bloody freezing. Plus there's always a cold breeze. And it's difficult to walk around because the berms are so steep.
J. C.
Great place for a holiday and a day out
p. s.
It's a Beach full of Pebbles and peeps having a fun day out, so go and enjoy
P. W.
A truly wonderful and iconic structure, a piece of history bringing enjoyment and pleasure to generations, a much loved landmark in Britain. Have fun...
C. G.
Lovely to spend a day here, lots to see and lovely for walking, plus you will never go hungry as lots of places to eat.
D. A.
Love Brighton! It was a brilliant day out and the beach is so well kept. The warm weekend meant that we might as well in Spain. Perfect staycation!
P. H.
Very busy, particularly during the summer months, but lots of activities, plenty of shopping. A vibrant atmosphere.
R. M.
It's very beautiful but also so dirty ... Open your eyes people... What we are doing now it's going to affect our future... Doesn't matter how small is the action you make,in few years you if you keep taking a bag or just one trash from the ground it's gonna be very helpful for this home thst we share togheter

Very 👌 place for relaxing and holidays beautiful beaches.
L. L. C.
One of the most beautiful beaches near London, a place I recommend to everyone.
A.
Lovely beach. Very clean. Hardly any rubbish.

Really lovley unique place to visit, so much to look at and do
Y.
A nice beach which is wonderful for relaxing in the summer.
D. C.
A great place to visit, beautiful landscapes!
B. T.
Nice and peaceful. The water was freezing even in August. The ground is pebbles not sand but it is kind of better you dont get messy with the sand
N. K.
I Visited Brighton Beach,Last Wednesday Just Before The Weather Changed. It’s Been 3 years SinceI Was Last Here. It Was A Beautiful Day The Sun Was Out & So We’re Those Pesky Seagulls!!! The Beach Was Packed Nice Seeing People Having A Good Time.Loved My Day Out You Will Too.
K. G.
A great escape from the daily routine and beautiful views of pebble beach...
B.
Went here back in September of 2020, it was awesome! This is not a sandy beach, but it is so relaxing to sit down and see the pier next to it! The ocean is perfectly swimmable, and it starts of extremely shallow if you have a pet dog!
N. N. (.
Great scenery 😊
J. F.
Beautiful stone beach. Lovely for a walk or a day out.
D. K.
Brighton beach is absolutely unique place and never get bored.
You could enjoy here whole year!
w. t.
One of my fav beach’s for many reasons and because its just near to London and easy access by transport all the time. Nice pebble beach with beautiful views, water sports, rides, pier, ice cream, food, cafes & restaurants n many places for drinks all around. U can get amazing photos especially at the time of sunrise or sunset times. Love to b there again n again
D. E.
Good old fashioned British seafront beach. Pebbles to fish and chips to sunburn.
Y. R.
Beautiful red stone beach, please dont expects sands here..
P.
I go there every year for the August bank holiday weekend Scooter rally the people are great the beach is a bouns & the night life is fantastic
G. A.
It was perfect. Unfortunately, we arrived when it was dark but we will come back again definitely.
M. B.
Lovely place to visit :) I recommend it
N. D.
Great place well worth a visit stroll or soaking up the sun and atmosphere
A. K.
Great beach to hang out on for the whole day, with plenty of ice cream and places to grab lunch. Surprisingly comfortable for a pebble beach and very friendly atmosphere
W. B.
Nice!
S. t. B.
Love Brighton Beach. Now that I’ve found a direct train from Cambridge, I’ll be down every few weeks.
J. C.
Great public beach with plenty to do and see. Kids will love the games and amusements, adults will love the art and craft and ample drinking establishments lol
S. r.
Nice pebbles beach...lot of activities for everyone.
P. R.
Brighton!! It is a beautiful place, vibrant, full of culture, architectural beauty, good food (if you know where to look), the beach is standard UK pebble beach, it has bars a plenty, great for a night out, romantic weekend away, nature spotting, car spotting, you name it! Plenty of spas and hotels, shopping, the Mock turtle tea room is a must visit too!
C. V.
I am a fan of sand beaches,But this one is very wide so l can ignore the stones.
You need for sure special shoes for water and sunbed for your comfort.
F. M.
Great experience for those who have never seen a pebble beach along with a fun pier nearby
P. S.
Love it here whatever the weather.
Tops the day off getting hot donuts at the pier entrance.
J. D.
Nice but not sandy beach
L. P.
A bit overrated, to be honest, but I think that coming from amazing Italian beaches, it couldn't be different.
Anyway, if you forgive the "black" water and the crowd, it is a nice place where to spend a rare summer day
R. A.
Popular, but too crowded for me. Victorian walkways roped off in disrepair at east end.
H. B.
Wonderful beach to relaxation
R. H.
Of course, it would be better during the summer. But even now (December 28) it is a charming experience that if you come to Brighton to walk to the beach and to see the sunset.
W. “. G.
lots of hidden little gems found all over Brighton, go and hunt these down :)
s. s.
Vibrant, one can enjoy inside water as it's not very deep immediately. Peebles beach.
P. J.
Great beach when the weather is amazing
C. D.
Iconic and impressive beach, justifiably famous
K. E. G.
Wished it was sandy, that would be perfect beach.
A. N.
Plenty of place to relax on the beach. On the pier the sunset is amazing.
M. L.
Nice place for a day trip away from the bustle of London. Quaint and amazing alleyways.
N. S.
Had a great day with my girlfriend and daughter. The wrist band for the rides on the pier was good value and there was plenty to keep the little one occupied.
P. T.
Brighton is a great place to be with beautiful weather you can hang out a whole day
Z. N.
Definitely need more good weather here
d. p.
Beautiful see view.
J. S.
Its a lovley beach with lots to do along the seafromt
A. (. P.
Really beautiful sea front.
Great to walk along or even just sit and watch the world go by. I was there on a windy day but there are plenty of places to sit where you are sheltered.
Whether it's visiting the pier or just meandering along the seafront, it's definitely something worth visiting if you're in the area. Very wide pavements su good for accessibility and there are ramps down to the beach itself too.
l. R.
Everything is there, music, children park, fun fair, and amazing restaurant....what a good experience... definitely will come back for more.... hotel near beach ⛱️, Every time soon.
E. F.
Parking in the area is usually packed and quite expensive. But is a nice beach for the UK
G. G.
Nice pebble beach. Too busy for my liking, but I appreciate that I visited on a bank holiday weekend with great weather and many were out enjoying themselves!
c. n.
Always a beautiful place to visit
J. L.
Best part of Brighton. Fantastic atmosphere on summer nights
M. C. B.
Nice beach. Lots more empty shops though ☹️
I.
I go through the Brighton Beach/seafront all the time especially whilst I walk around it even so I grew up here and I really liked how open the beach is including the beautiful views of the sea as well as the Brighton Palace Pier, Brighton Marina, Shoreham Harbour in the far distance and the British Airways i360 tower.
The Brighton seafront is overpopulated by tourists and travellers during the summer period every year and it is one of the most beautiful coastal cities I have ever lived in since I was born here.
This also brings back good memories and it’s really nice to pay a nice visit to Brighton if you’re from London even if it’s just 1 hour away which is very close.
I would highly recommend anyone to Brighton who has never been before even if you’re from London but summer is always the best time to visit down here.
👍🇬🇧🏴👍🇬🇧🏴😇😉😇😉😇😉😇😉☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
์. T.
Large long beach where you can spend a day waching seagull.
S. H.
Love Brighton worth the 2hour train ride and the best sea food ever
L. D.
I love Brighton beach because I live in Montague Street and its about a 5 minute walk from where I live, and the big cinema screen is good too.
L. B.
This is an amazing long and wide beach. The only reason why this beach doesn't get 5 stars is that it is gravel instead of sand. We visited on a very hot Saturday and I expected that you lie body to body but that was not the case. This beach is big enough to cope with a lot of people. You will always find a spot for yourself. There is a lot of food and drinks available. All sorts of. Great place. Will definitely be back this summer.
H. E.
Fantastic apart from the seagulls. And the arcade is great my son won a few things n us adults loved it too. 👍👍👍
P. L.
Great café and boutique shop's, and pubs on the beach front, peeble beach not everyone's favorite but great all the same
S. B.
Large shingle beaches popular with locals and tourists alike.
F. N.
Very nice place, very good people!
b. p. 2.
During the height of summer, Brighton beach is a fantastic place to go and soak up the rays from the sun. The beach is mostly pebbles and the ocean is a deep blue and expansive. I would definitely recommend it as a trip.
V. S.
Most visitable beach during summer time
T. N.
Went there on Mod bank holiday revival day. Well worth seeing over 300 Lambrettas and Vespas.
J. B.
good beach weird people I saw a man being thrown into the sea it was quite a traumatizing experience john beefy overall approves of this place but it has some weird people.
A. D.
Great beach, mostly pebbles, but has a few little patches of sand if you look carefully. It’s not for the faint of heart, the cold is definitely a deterrent and when it comes to swimming, the water isn’t clear, but it’s refreshing on a hot day. The views are generally good as well. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare, but just find the right little road and you’re fine.
L. M.
Love Brighton
Lots to see and do no matter what the weather brings
J. F.
Was a bit packed but boi, what a beautiful place
A. H.
Beautiful pebble beach. Spotlessly clean.
T. B.
sea looks clean and inviting, stone beach no sand, with nice views. lots of cannabis smells amongst all the vegans sun bathing.
M. L.
Nice beach with some nice rides on the pier. Good for family trips. It is mostly rocky. Depending on when you go it may be crowded
S. C.
Lovely beach and pier. Luckily wasnt to busy. Even though it was windy plenty of people sitting on the beach chatting. Plenty of benches to sit and watch the sea. Very calming and relaxing day trip.
L. L.
Its okay as run down Southern seaside towns go. My first First visit, I don't get the hype. It has nothing on Yorkshire beaches but a pleasant enough stay. Seen it now won't hurry back. The bikes were fun
M. H.
It was 17° the day we visited the beach...cool breeze. It's also very lengthy which means you can choose to stay in an overcrowded area of the beach or take a walk down to the very quiet bank side. You can rent a deck-chair for £3 all day or choose to sit on the surrounding little stones free of charge.
J. G.
Beautiful views, fantastic scenery
M. G.
Lovely clean and tidy shingle beach
B. G.
Beautiful and awesome beach.. I love this place.
N. M.
A good place to just be in one with nature
S. H.
It's really not a very good Beach at all. But such is the UK lol, you have to take what you can get. I've always had a great time going here so many times over the years. Drunk, sober, night, day. Really is a cool place to visit. Especially despite it being very basic. The surrounding area is more impressive and cute in my opinion. But the beach gives some charm to the area.
B. S.
Nice and varied beach front. Lots of art, bars and creativity to check out. Great for relaxing, swimming when it's warm and people watching. You'll need some sort of footwear as it sucks to walk all the way across barefoot...
P. A.
Traditional family beach. It is not a sandy beach but still popular.
A. V.
One of the easiest of the UK's top seaside resorts to get to from London, Brighton boasts an impressive eight miles of beach along the English Channel for visitors to enjoy. While almost 5.5 miles of this shoreline consists of shingle (or pebble) beach, this sprawling seaside town has been a popular destination for day-trippers and vacationers for well over a century.
B. L.
Great place for sightseeing, relax. You can taste fish and chips.
G. V.
I love Brighton. The nicest city in the UK.
C. G.
I´ve seen this beach so many times in movies and tv series I felt I was here already. The coastal walk is beautiful, with lot of spots to sit down, watch the sea and eat.
R. N.
I took a wander on the hottest day of the year recently, and ended up finding some space between the tourist side near the pier, and the nude section. The sea was not only clean but also clear and warm, and I swam to my hearts content.
P. S.
Nice place for walking
A. W.
Everything quite expensive but is a popular tourist spot beach ok but quite untidy but all in all its a great day to relax.
T. B.
Lovely beach. Good vibe
D. P.
Loved it.. nice breeze... not too crowded...lovely vibe. Had birthday cake on the beach.
M. P.
Very clean, amazing experience!!!
A.
Beautifully well kept beach. Nice to just sit on the pebbles and watch the waves roll in. Can get quite busy when the weather is good, but when the weather isn't good this place can be bitter.
Lots of things to see along the beach itself including the pier, sculptures, the i360 just to name a few. Good for all ages as previously stated the beach is kept quite well.
S. B.
Visited to the Marina, so beautiful and lots of lovely restaurants to sit outside and enjoy the view. Unfortunately a grumpy bus conductor on number 7 Bus when we returned to Brighton town. Made us take our bus cards out of their covers, never have to do this at home.
Lots to see in the Town especially the lanes.
K. H.
Fabulous place to visit
S.
Clean beach, full of small-ish pebbles. Wear shoes to this beach! The pebbles hurt like hell if you walk on them with bare feet. Water was stained with pollen and was cold even though it was a pretty warm summer day. So I didn't swim, but it was very nice to just sit and enjoy the sunlight.
D. R.
Lovely walk along beach side path with lots of nice little shops for eating, drinking and gifts. Most shops are open through the winter, well worth a visit then without the summer crowds and lookout for starlings flying in formation in there hundreds.
N. G.
Beautiful summer holiday, good vibes.
A nice getaway.
Pebbles not sand to accommodate the masses.
Various car parks and I'd recommend to get your parking space early to avoid sitting in a que.
Take sun protection incase their sold out of a specific factor as this is common.
Enjoy.
J. C. T.
Nice location, it's a little busy in August , but a great place to visit
P. H.
Great fun, lovely view and chips were amazing too
A.
Pay attention to the sea gulls! They are bullies!!
M. D.
Lovely beach with lots of rocks
J. C.
Enjoyed a trip on the i360 and a walk along the pier and lunch in the restaurant of the i360
B. S.
Lovely place to relax and chill out
D. H. N.
A nice place to be for all of UK people. Kids do enjoy the beach and shops. Good healthy seashore with nice wind and vast sand beds. A lot of parking facility nearby beach. Nice and welcoming hotels close to sea. Very secure beach and the pyre. Pyre has lot if things for kids to enjoy and people to snack. A very good tourist location. I go there at least 3 times a year with my kids. You never get bored here.
A. E.
The sea is cold and you can enjoy strong winds. if you are not used to cold sea and winds, it is hard to swim. however, the town is lovely and nice. it has a very long seaside where you can walk. you can enjoy the sound of the sea and wind. people are respectful. there are many restaurants nearby the seaside and they are not expensive. there are authentic cafes.
s. r. m.
We can rent chairs and relax at the beach. Toilets nearby. Suitable for the whole family. My kids loved Brighton beach! I will definitely be going back again and again
L. D.
Great clothes shops in the back street, with street entertainers. Tables outside to eat and soak in the sun and atmosphere.
Great harbour, fairground rides, that are not the norm. They look entertaining and fun. Economical as £20 for the day cheap. But bank holidays etc consider waiting in queues.
T. B.
Beautiful beach, lovely town centre. Great day out
L. T.
Brighton and the surrounding area is a must-see for anyone visiting the south of England.
K. G. (.
Lovely place to go as an adult party or with the kids... Accommodation is expensive though so shop around
G. G.
the beach itself is nice! all shops & supermarkets are just around the corner. shopping mall is only 10mins walk from beach is you have the stores bars restaurants round the corner & such a convenient. only thing i feel the toilets & showers on the beach are really dirty & smelly! showers dont work & the toilets seems to be good 70 or 80 years old built! very disappointed with that, also the places to visit around beach look very messy & uncleaned! giving 4 stars just gor the beach & natural views there! not bad beach to visit during the travelling restrictions worldwide during covid-19 situations.
M. S.
It feels so good to be out there on a sunny day.
E. P.
We were really impressed with the range of activities available at the beach that just draws people to the area. Multi purpose areas for dancing, ping pong tables, swimming, skatboard park, bike lanes, wide paths. There were so many people out just enjoying the area.
M. H.
Iconic Brighton beach, absolutely love walking along the promenade. The council has done a great job of developing the area close to the pier so that's lovely and then out towards Hove the wide avenue with the beach boxes is great too. Obviously not a sandy beach but still a great place to visit.
V. P.
really nice and good waves. Would definitely suggest bringing flip flops or sliders as there are a couple sharp shells in the rocks that can cut your feet.
P. M.
Lovely little stroll from the marina to the pier. Although the pier food huts were shut the food vendors below were open and serving. Sadly as we walked all the bins were full and over flowing of rubbish from the previous day. I arrived at 1.30pm and was shocked to see that no bins had been emptied or were in the process of being emptied. This created havoc as the gulls were eating left overs and were in the rubbish
S. C.
Had an amazing experience here !! This beach is so good for a variety of different people . The reason why I go here in particular is the range of vegan places to go . I have loads of lactose intolerant friends and there is loads of options for food and there is even a market and bakery suited just for them . The prices are also decent for restaurants and shops and if you don’t want to pay the average restaurants rates then you can go to Sainsburys or Tesco’s because there scattered all over the beach which is great !! The actual beach is so beautiful but It can get pretty packed so you might want to be careful when all the kids are out on holidays . Overall it’s not the best beach out there but it’s one of the best so I would highly recommend it
K. G.
Lovely place! Perfect to spend the weekend on the hot day of summer! The water is not the cleanest and seagulls grabs your food from your hands, but other than that its just the beach where you can refresh yourself.
K. P.
The most beautiful beach I've ever seen. I don't like sand. It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere. That's why this beach, which doesn't have sand, is absolutely perfect! Would 100% recommend for a fellow sand hater!
S. P.
Fun day on the beach lots of activities & just enjoy bright sunny day
H. Y.
Definitely a great place to spend time, chilling out, having some drinks, enjoying the LIVE music and the bubbly atmosphere! People are singing and dancing together! Nice restaurants nearby (Winter could be very windy and cold tho)
S. S.
I really enjoyed the beach
P. P.
While down in Brighton for a weekend I decided to take part in the park run at the West end of the beach front. The beach front is a typical English seaside resort, with a pier full of amusement arcades and candyfloss stalls. A great place for a weekend of fun and fish and chips
B. K.
I love go there.i was with friend and walked into shops and everywhere. Good day
A. T.
The town is a typical seaside town. Great to walk around with many readily available buses ,if needed. We had a great late late lunch meal with excellent beer choices at Earth and Stars pub, the best fish and chips ever!! The pub is on a side street . We loved the local neighborhood ambiance and the super friendly service. I'm not giving the town a five star rating because if you have to deal with the local train clerks, you are dealing with a nightmare!!! Bureaucratic and sullen to say the least!!
B. A.
What can I say? Have a seat in the first line and enjoy the view
S. &. M. S.
Good vibe on the beach itself live music and all the things you expect from any seaside resort BUT Brighton clean yourself up! Compared to London, Portsmouth, Pool and a lot of other destinations you are grubby and in a lot of areas just plain shabby. For all the councils attemps to make the car unwelcome as possible and more bike and pedestrian friendly the net result is the city is now a shadow of its former self. Shame, but for me its only "the lanes" that is worthy of a visit. Sorry!
C. B.
Like the pebbles easier to dry off. Clean beach and nice cooling breeze. Plenty of alert life guards around which is really reassuring. The sea is cold but so nice and blue.
S. P.
Clean beach, great place to visit! Locals are super friendly
L. M.
Great pebble beach fab shops and brilliant atmosphere
L. G.
A stroll down the promenade is a windy affair best attempted on a sunny day. Fish and chips and the city is alive with culture and not to be missed. Restaurants are pretty nifty as always book ahead and choose with inquisitive minds
L. O.
Quite windy in March... And beware of the pigeons.
D. M.
Family friendly, lots of fun activities (and keeps getting better). It has improved greatly over the years. My one and only qualm, however, is that it's a pebble beach (like most of the south of England). But that's nature for you.
N. L.
Very nice for families.
J. A.
Visited this beach for a litter picking event recently. Lots of people seem to be enjoying the beach, as I have done on previous dates. The beach around the pier is very busy and has the best atmosphere. This is the best area of the beach to be if you are looking to experience the best of the city. There are also lots of little shops along the beach, but I have found that the best ones are on the pier. During the litter pick, found lots of litter and a big chunk of metal (which would be hidden under water at high tide), so watch where you step.
Overall, it's a great beach.
M. C.
Great place to be on a sunny day! Food and drink within easy reach and it's cleaned daily! Being a pebble beach, you get the added bonus of not getting sand in your shoes too
E. M. A.
I love it here
M. A.
Nice beach and is close to some nice food places. Hills on beach are quite slippery though.
L. “. L.
Nice and always there is something to do.the little shop and street food give a nice atmosphere. Very good place if you want to enjoy English beaches and have some fun.
S.
Beautiful place 👌😊
y. k.
The sea air was bracing! The sardined crowds did not deter us. Our visitors enjoyed the sights, the architecture of the Royal Pavilion, the fish and chips and English tea and scones not forgetting the sweeping seascapes.
J. t.
i do indeed enjoy the beach, me and my wife/cousin Maryann loves to travel abroad to cities such as Utah and Europe. The beach made me look like a hunk and my son Davidson liked the taste of the sand superb.
J. D.
What can I say...it's got no sand but has loads of seagulls to steal your chips and that's really what a beach is all about! Love coming back here for a lie on the stones or a walk enjoying the view of the sea and the pier.
B. P.
I've visited Brighton more times than I can remember. I'm not keen on the beach, though: it's a pebble beach, and the pebbles are large and uncomfortable to walk and sit on. On the plus side, the promanade is long and good for a walk by the sea, and there is an excellent cycle path. I also like to take a walk along the pier.
d. e.
always very busy place. as soon as the good weather comes, all Londoners pack their bags and go to the beach. won't recommend if you like quiet places. not a sand beach, stones hurt feet if you not wearing proper shoes.
Awesome view of sunset from Brighton Pier. pier is the only place i enjoyed in brighton
M. H.
Great when the suns out loads of food and bars
D. S.
If you go to Brighton it isn't going to be the beach. Yes it is a beach, but it is void of sand and instead just pebbles. However if you go to Brighton it is somewhere you can relax for an hour or three between enjoying everything else that Brighton has to offer. Beware that in the summer Brighton can get ridiculously busy and so can the beach.
E. N. E.
Beautiful view to city from beach side as well
P. G. C. c.
Was lovely hot and sunny but my god was it busy. It was absolutely ram packed. I went yarmouth and it was like ghost town. This was the complete opposite. One positive thing was we didnt have to wait for many rides on the pier the queues were very good but was a little bit expensive. Good day out though none the less
A. W.
A beach of many wonders. The view of the wind farm, i360, West pier, palace pier and the grand hotel are great sights to see whilst sitting on the pebbles listening to the sea. You can paddle in some places, though the sea is admittedly freezing! There is access to the pier and Madeira Drive which lead to the centre of the city. Usually not too busy, so you can chuck pebbles into the channel, creating a satisfying splash. Would highly recommend a visit.
M. D.
Fun place to visit. It isn't your typical beach with lovely sand. It's full of stones but the atmosphere is fantastic!
I.
I really have never been here I just know it from the TommyInnit vlogs like and subscribe to Tubbo,Wilbur Soot, Ranboo and TommyInnit on YouTube and on twitch with prime!!!!🍴
C. B.
Lovely beach to walk along with the dog if you are happy to walk on stones.
Plenty of things to do and see, including the Place Pier.
M. H.
Good clean beach well done for the people that clean it
P. n.
It's very welcoming and safe. There was no litter anywhere, easy access to a range of shops and an active life guard station. Perfect for the family!
F. X.
Nice getaway from London. Parking is extortionate so be prepares for high prices all around. Not so many options for food and surprisingly few good fish and chips outlets... but its a joyful diverse place with lovely views and a really friendly lively atmosphere. Dont expect a sandy beach!
M. K.
Its awesome place with young kids ... its pebbels kids dznt get messy like they do on sandy beach. Pier is awesome with lovely rides n snacks. Zip is new fun addition
J. E.
We were having a pebble war when some fella with a mohawk pulled out an actual gun and started firing. I only escaped because I was behind him.
D. L. a. K.
A beach that caters for the tourists as well as the locals. Very friendly environment and bustling with life. Can be very busy on hot days as it is easy to get to from London. There are lots of parking although when very busy it might take a while to get one. There are lot of places to eat and entertain yourself or your travelling party. The Brighton Pier is a gem and you must try the fish and chips there.
j. r.
Vibrant, busy, interesting. Always something to do and watch. The peir is well worth a visit with a fun fair being the main attraction. Parking on the other hand is quite expensive.
D. I.
Great memories there, cosy, barbecues allowed.
J. K.
Beautiful beach in one of the best cities in the UK. Good variety of cafés and shops along the beachfront, miles of pebbled beaches stretching to Hove Gardens, and great paths and cycleways to make use of. Fantastic
D. N.
A lovely pebbly beach with lots of tiny stores and the pier. Many places to have a social time, and relatively safe as long as you are not alone. Good for an afternoon walk along the strip.
P. T.
I visited the beach in Brighton, took a train from London to Brighton, nice and easily approachable with thameslink train, the beach is not for swimming as one of the reviewers said since it's all pebbles but it's lovely for strolls and walks the area is filled with restaurants , bars and cafes all in all Brighton is a beautiful city. I really enjoyed my time there with my family.
There are many hotels and restaurants surrounding the beach makes it the perfect holiday spot. Parking was kind of difficult and expensive.
Visited for a weekend and walked from the pier towards the marina. The Brighton beach with its pier and the small shops / restaurants along the seafront is quite beautiful and an interesting place to visit.
There's no lifeguard cover at all though so do be careful and don't take inflatables along.
T. R.
Brighton, born and bred. And these days I rarely venture into the city. Though whenever I do come in something has changed, new restaurants, shops are always appearing. Beach front beers at one of the many bars awesome in the summer, and places with outside heating for the cooler evening (ohso), if only we had a sandy beach it would be perfect.
t. s.
Brighton pier is open unlike some other places. Wouldn't recommend the doughnut stand outside the pier but the view was great and the beach was quite clean.
N. M.
I have lived here for nearly 14 years and I can still safely say that Brighton beach is my favourite place to be. However sadly as a disabled person it is not that accessible. They have beach chairs for disabled people to get up to the sea but they are not comfortable in any way! But if you just want to stay on the paths and look at the Ocean waves From a Distance then you will be fine :) I believe there are also disabled lose that are hidden around the seafront. Be sure to check those out if you need them!

It is a beautiful beach. And it only takes one hour from central London by train, that's amazing. It is great to visit in sunny summer days. The skies are blue. It is hot but wind comes from sea makes cooler.

This place has a buzz when the weather is fine. Sandy beach is the only thing missing from
Brighton. Great views from harbour and the pier. Lots of fun activities for families. Shoppers paradise too.
J. G.
Long, clean stony beach with lots of space but can get busy at peak times.
Parking on Madiera Drive within a few yards - use the website to pay - we could not get the app to work despite having ample data available.
Zip line available, if you dare and numerous snack places also including fish and chips.
Electric railway rides along the seafront are also available.
Town centre is within walking distance with numerous shops, banks, ATMs, restaurants, bars, snacks etc.

Gets very crowded but was a nice place to visit and relax on the shore. The pier looks very pretty and there are some nice shops and small markets around if you explore the side streets
C. M.
Went to the cinema, loved it. Get there early for double deck chairs
F. H.
It's tired and run down with a beach that isn't really a beach as it's all stones which are not easy to walk on and certainly not disabled friendly. There's lots of cheap takeaways if the ice cream, fish & chip and donut variety.
J. D.
It is a lovely bead with an OK bunch of arcades... Its a kinda messy place and a stone beach... There is a ton of food establishments thou it's amazing so definitely worth a visit

Great beach and ideal place to walk the dog too in the summer. In the morning the beach is covered with seagulls hovering above you for food. Personally, I enjoyed throwing a peice of bread in the air and watching a seagull sweep through and catch it before it hit the ground but beware when you feel 1 seagull hords of them will come and sometimes it's scary haha and you have to run away! In the summer you can have drinks if the beach and find zip liners and all sorts of shops and activities but in the winter most of these things are closed. But Yh for me I enjoyed everything the beach had to offer.

The most peaceful a cosmopolitan beach can get. The view of the burned pier and the still functioning one; seagulls floating on the air; myriad colourful stones and shells; jet skiers and water sports fans doing their thing, all on a view of the sea. A lot happens down on the beach and come festival time, you'll have some memorable moments if you're open to the odd dog, kid, overly entwined couple, and well-dined individual. One year we had a bonfire on there. Who knows if it was legal, but nothing came of it, so the police may have turned a blind eye in the spirit of Brighton.

Fantastic place for summer hangouts. Can enjoy cycling along the coast. Pebble beach adds more charm to it. Lot of gaming areas at the pier.

Beautiful in the summer, Lovely pier, picture taken in December brrr 🌬

Nice view,and tasty donuts.😄

Brighton is a popular place, just a day's trip from London. The connectivity is very good. It's a nice, relaxed place that has much to offer. We got off at Preston Park station that led us to a chance discovery of Rock Garden. Beautifully maintained, stop for sometime and bask in the sunshine while enjoying a great view of leisure park across the road. Little kids can do their running around with a little supervision, it's a safe place away the bustle of the beach. Beach is another 25 minutes walk from the Rock Garden down the road.
Brighton is a pebble beach so make sure you have your flip flops handy specially if you are the type to soak your feet in the ocean. Brighton pier has many pubs and eating joints, on the pier itself and in the vicinity. However having a toilet on the beach wouldn't be a bad idea given lots of kids with small bladder comes. Speaking of pier there are lots of activities for both kids and grown ups. The gaming arcade and rides are fun apart from the pubs and eateries. There are water sports too.You can comfortably enjoy your day. There are many interesting multi cusine places around the beach enroute to station where you can grab a meal.
M.
Good place to enjoy around the Sea and have some fresh air.
Not the best one for swimming for me as I have never get into the Sea there.
M. P.
luvely even in lockdown😅 people keeping social distance on the beach 🤗
S. J.
Good spot to relax and have a sun bath.
A. W.
Nice atmosphere! Definetly would recommend, there is an attraction park nearby as well as street food if you're looking for your Fish n Chips on the go.

Shingle beach . The seafront has improved and is still being improved thanks to the investment from the i360 tower and the agreement with the council that for planning permission to have been granted a percentage of the takings from the tower had to go towards the renovation and upkeep of the shops and infrastructure of the seafront. Where that influence has happened around the tower, the whole beach and seafront areas have benefited - as far as I saw as a tourist. I didn't ask the shop and business owners how the rents and rates are now that they are in trendy and pristine accommodation.. I was there for fun not for a town planning or an economic study.
The end of the beach towards the pier that is still standing (there are 2 piers - or rather 1 pier that is still standing and 1 pier that is a rusty skeleton in the sea - opposite the i360 tower) but is a more traditional British seaside resort at that end of the beach - captured so brilliantly by the original photographer, Martin Parr and is copied now by so many others.
There is plenty to do - there are zip wires, Crazy golf, funfair roundabouts with brightly coloured painted horses, i360 viewing tower that is a massive glass and silver donut that ascends and descends a tower for the views of the town and off shore wind farm. Hosts of seafood restaurants and small huts selling traditional British seaside delicacies : muscles, whelks, jellied eels, crab which I guess must still be eaten by someone? and not just London EastEnders on a day trip to the seaside. Not me though - Ana phalactic and I are best friends who meet over shellfish - but she always tries to kill me and so our dysfunctional relationship is one I try to avoid.
There is an interesting (if you are old like me) free, small fishing museum on the seafront. Plenty of striped deck chairs to hire - housed in not aestheticly pleasing, rusty, yellow, small shipping containers all along the beach - looking like a giant kids building blocks that got washed up after a storm - so that the giant kid can't figure out where all their yellow blocks went when it rained really hard that stormy night when their castle flooded. Or maybe not.
It was great weather when I went on the once in 100 years sunny good Friday - and so it was very, very busy and full of interesting and exotic and not so exotic people. Which Brighton is rightly known for. Worth a trip most definitely.
J. J. E.
There are very beautiful beaches, but this is definitely one of the most beautiful I have ever seen! I liked it!
J. P.
Pebble beach.. visit on summer sunny days and u will enjoy like anything!
P. B.
Sat on the beach and ate take away fish and chips from the Regency. Seagulls are a perpetual threat here: they like fish and chips, have not understood the rules concerning social distancing and think they can just help themselves to your food!
J. E.
Just bloody great!! What more do you need. More toilets, all the way along the beach at intervals, Donkey rides and more 🍬 floss men, selling it. The Pier and monkey slide are great.
M. M.
Very crowed on sunny days difficult to find parking . The pebbles are difficult to walk on but it's a beach so it's okay. Bars on the beach are expensive .best to take your drinks with you ..
A. S.
If you’re visiting in the warmer months then this city on the beach could be worth a visit. Most famous for its pier and as the gay capital of the UK, you’ll also find decent restaurants, cute shops along the city’s “lanes”, and a fairly laid back vibe. If you can make it for the Gay Pride Parade, make sure you take advantage. And take a dip in the water if you are lucky enough to visit during one of the UK’s rare heat waves!
C. B.
Apart from the stupid signs saying keep away from the sea!!!!!!!!!
I loved it
V. M.
Very nice place, seagulls are everywhere. Once you live in United Kingdom, you should visit Brighton! Beach is full of colourfull stones, also you can find some shells there. Sometimes there is some rubbish but just a little bit, so i think they clean it time to time or regularly. In summer it must be perfect place in UK!
V. S.
It's hard to justify going to Brighton as opposed to somewhere like Bournemouth. Pros: The people in Brighton are exceptionally nice and friendly. The food options around Brighton are much better. The town of Brighton is good fun, something for everyone at any age. Cons: Usually feels cooler. Sea and beach not as paddle friendly as place like Bournemouth. Parking when busy is hard to come by. Pebble not a sand beach.
K. “. P.
It was cold and, windy. Seagulls stole my bit of fish that cost me £7! Doesn't matter though because, I had just finished the London to Brighton bike ride. So I felt amazing. Except for the £7 portion of chips I had....
A. S.
It is a pleasant beach. Wet and dry in equal measure. Except when it's raining. But even then the screaming of the shingle, the shrieking of the wind, the thunder fall hammer blow of the falling waves ... It is a pretty thing.
r. c.
Just the perfect place to go when you want to run away from London for a couple of hours. Unfortunately, you have to go there with the Southern trains which are late or aren't at all. But the beach and what can you do there in terms of fun and food are perfect!
R. I.
What's to say? Nice clean beach where you're not fishing sand from between your toes! Lots of places to eat and drink and an overall nice vibe.
J. C.
Love the brown-pebbled beach (not a fan of sand). Music, food and dessert greet you along the beach, there is a good crowd, and the ambience is full of fun and relaxation.
A. V.
Very nice
K. M.
Love Brightons cobbled stone beach! The atmosphere! The people! Love all the seaside shops, restaurants and the pier! Great place to visit anytime of year. The only downfall with Brighton is the parking! You must go early to get a space. Its not cheap.
J. S.
A popular destination for locals and tourists
A. K.
I like the beach a lot during summertime. You have lots of little shops around to buy all kinds of seafood snacks and can enjoy the mild breeze.
T. S.
Great beach if you want to have a rocky beach. Outside of that, it's a lovely place to come, sit, and enjoy the waves
V. V.
Amazing place! My favourite escape from the busy London. It's a big over crowded, but this is fine still can relax. Visiting every year
R. W.
Really nice beach to hangout. You can easily sit on the stones without a towel or blanket, they don't hurt at all
A. N.
A trip to Brighton is not complete without a visit to the beach. It's has great walking and biking tracks. Lots of people also go runnnig or walk their dogs. The beach itself is rocky which am not quite sure if am a fan off.
It;s quite a popular spot for both locals and tourists and easily gets crowded. There's a couple of coffee shops along the beach.
Make sure to pass by the Pier as well.
I'd recommend.
I. T.
At 7am this morning the water was crystal clear and in certain places lovely and warm, was also sunny and very peaceful - in my opinion it's the best time to enjoy the beach
W. A.
Subhanallah very nice view on a bright day, with cool breeze. A walk along the beach is a bit difficult for those wearing heels. Wear right attire.
A. T.
4 star beach. Nice for walks and a fresh breath of air, but it's a rocky beach, and not a sand one (therefore removing one star). Quite surprised how clean it is, and it's maintained.
H. O.
Pebble beach. Sea doesn't to out very far at low tide. Loads of places to drink and eat along the front and the usual family amusements and, of course, the pier. It gets rammed on summer days so, if you want to escape the crowds for a bit of peace and maybe a beach to yourself, head a mile west to Hove.
P. P.
First time back in a very long while.
Beach clean lots to do but only one peir now sadly.
Parking in the NCP is around £30 for 24hr.
My advice park at Brighton Railway Station for £14.50 for a day. It's cheap and still only a little way from the Lanes and seafront
S. H.
I just love this place
Stoney beach yes but such fun and full of life
Everyday is different always safe always fun
I love Brighton
Expensive yes crowded yes no parking yes but just love it
Whatever you want it's here
S. D. D.
Really cool place for the family day out , also don't forget to check some cute backstreets full of hipster vibes and some fine art graffiti!!!
Feeling for a tasty? Head to Redroster for a top coffee and avocado toast!
F.
Nice beach. Normally pretty clean. Sometimes people do dumps here so make sure you use a torch before you sit at night.
R. W.
Lovely beach, lots of nice seafront amenities and all round good vibes
P. H.
Top place
C. R.
Good for bike event's Brightona, but as a beach it's not up to much. Shame but it all pebbles. And you have to be very careful of bus lanes or your find yourself getting a fine though the post. And you can quite easily find yourself in a bus lane without even realising. I don't go to Brighton anymore as places like Worthing and Littlehampton are much nicer and cheaper.
S. C.
A very popular feature of Brighton's seafront, a huge expanse of shingle with a wide selection of bars, restaurants and art galleries located under the arches. The pier is one of the most visited features while the i360 is one not to be missed.
E. D.
Had a lovely, chilled afternoon drinking cans of beer on the beach, with a view of the pier. Lots of people around - locals, tourists, families, groups of friends of all ages.
S. Z.
Went to the pier... there is loads of fun exciting activies..such as the giant zipwires..bunjee jumping . There is loads of cafes and ice cream parlors . That studf is great for sunny days but the i360 is good for any day . I went to the pier in the freezing cold and still had fun xx
S. R.
Fantastic day out for a family day or night out 😎😎😍😍😜
O. A.
Great when it's not so busy. Perfect place to go if you need some time to relax and think about life
R. P.
Fabulous sea side for summer...!
J. E.
Lovely beach to walk along in any weather, and the electric train is reasonably priced if you're more of a sitting-down type. Free parking was also very very very very very very very welcome!
M. B.
South East England famous beach. There is lots there to see and do and many free things. There is a old tram that goes along the sea front (not all year round). Cafes and shops. There currently free parking in the harbour area in the big carpark 4 hours max. But you can pay to pack longer along the sea front. There also nudist beach area. And if you want there a good bike and walking path that's goes along for a few miles. You can get to Brighton from London area on the train and takes about 30-40 minutes.
S. H.
Brighton is a seaside resort and one of the two main areas of the city of Brighton and Hove. Located on the southern coast of England, in the county of East ...
City status: 2000
Historic county: Sussex
Ceremonial county: East Sussex
Town charter: 1313
M. Y.
It’s a good place to visit if you’re looking for a calm place to chill during the week. It’s hard to walk because it has small and medium sized pebbles and stones.
A. F.
Nice clean family friendly
S. E.
Best beach in uk. No sand that gets everywhere just pebbles to brush off. Great cafes with chips coffees etc. The pier is good too
T. C.
Needs a bit of cleaning up.
P. P.
Much the sane as I remember it as a kid all those years ago.
Gone have a lot of the boats that were on the pebble beach and in their place are cafes et under the arches.
The remaining per of the two hadn't changed a lot but what has is for the better
T. C.
It was nice, finding parking was a long, but in the end we found near the children play area. Lots of activities for kids. Overall it was a nice day out.
D. O.
Cold as expected. 15 minutes listening to the waves whilst sitting on a giant pebble "beanbag" was just what I needed. Watching the "donut" ascend one direction and the Brighton light on the pier in the other. Perfect 15 minutes of being in the moment.
D. P.
Always clean and tidy. More than happy to allow my children to run around without fear of stepping or finding unwantable items. Always a good place for a picnic.
C. J.
One of the best Great Britain has to offer for beaches. It's busy but sandy and plenty of little attractions. I listened to music with my locally made ice-cream.
T. M.
Very touristy, dont expect to find cheap parking.
The amusements are the same as any other seaside town. Nice place to be
K. H.
Beach is ok if you dont mind pebbles!
J. d.
Nice place for family day out
S. C.
Love Brighton. So many happy childhood memories here. Bit different now, no Punch and Judy show for example, but Brighton still packs a punch!
G. P.
Not lucky on weather. Cloudy and windy. But the atmosphere was actually really good. Loads of people around. Sea was clean as well as the beach.
H. P.
Nice place with lots of activities available at the beach for kids and adults. Good food, big and cheap buffets. But the beach is very uncomfortable, no sand and lots of people.
D. D.
Love Brighton Beach. Pebbly but clean and beautiful to walk along on an Autumn morning. The sea always looks so green. Then onto Brightons pier. Always lots of people bustling about walking their dogs and stopping for coffee. Intend on going back for a stay in Brighton asap. Great weekend With all my family. xx
K. G.
Iconic beach in the best town to live in the UK!
Z. A.
Brighton beach is an okay beach. It has a pebble beach but there are plenty of stuff to do around the beach. Firstly you have all the shops to visit and there are lots of nice little independent stores here that sell cool things. Along the beach you have plenty of fish and chips or food places and just by the roads and shops you can your high street food places. Nice for a day or weekend away. However be weary on the beach especially with food as the seagulls here don't hold back. They are literally #mine when they see food.
D. R.
The beach was quite standard with very few pieces of litter however it was very busy. It would be rated higher but the stones hurt my feet a lot
j. m.
Great day, nice walk along the pier with its one way, social distancing walk way. Nice drink in a bar on tge pier.
S. T.
Nice day to relax on the beach with some Harry Ramsden fish and chips after cycling from London
M. J.
Large, popular beach proximate to Brightons most adored attractions including the pier, i360 and Churchill Shopping Centre. Is very crowded and busy in the summer but is nice.
P. G.
Very popular pebble beach and quite steep to get down there for a paddle, when the tide is very low there is a bit of sand, definitely a place to be when you are up for a laugh.
P. C.
Brighton beach is great you can sit on the pebbles and soak up the maybe go for a dip or have a wander along the promenade there is plenty to see and do
P. D.
Very beautiful beach,
p. w.
Its my home town and whilst busy is still enjoyable walking along the front ant throught the lanes where there are some great little shops.
E. H.
Brighton, good place for rest and visiting. Good shopping and amazing promenade for walking or running. Sport and business in one place.Coffee was delicious. Thank you 😊
S. P.
I mean it's a pebble beach with a funky retro pier and a funky burnt down pier. There is a weird sense of tranquility to be found in standing barefoot on the pebbles and looking at the ravages of the fire 🔥🔥
C. D.
The only thing it's missing is nice, fine sand instead of the rocks and pebbles that create this cool and quirky beach with plenty of food stalls and pubs nearby.
