Mel has recently treated me for upper back pain, which has greatly improved within just two treatments.. She has also been helping me with an existing knee injury. Mel has been a godsend, I have been going for about 4 weeks now and I can really feel the difference. I went to Mel with a shoulder injury form weight lifting, she has guided me with the correct exercise and form to be using in the gym as well as habits to change at home which has helped, also the treatment she has provided in or sessions have really helped my recovery. Fantastic practitioner!! I really respect Mel for her knowledge, skill and honesty. I had started with upper back pain when I was 16 and shrugged it off, by 22 it got severely worse and would even take my breath away and would not be able to move for several hours at a time. She listened closely to what I was explaining to her and after a few tests she let me know I was on the hypermobile side and needed to be careful when stretching, (something I had been doing more and more as the pain got worse, little did I know I was making it worse), and let me know adjustment was't recommended for me and instead to focus on my muscles. This was a first for me as everyone leading up to this had said differently. Happy to say a year and half later I haven't felt that kind of pain and have continued to improve with very little discomfort now.

I would describe Mel as one of the best chiropractors Ive ever met. She is very reasonably priced considering her knowledge is superior to even some doctors Ive visited. She is very professional and is very happy to explain the treatments and whats wrong with my back in detail when i ask- which is important to me. I have a long term back condition and have had spinal surgery. This means it will never be fully working as it was. Mel's treatment over the last ten weeks has changed my life. Instead of being crippled in pain by the end of each working day, I can now work with more movement and spend quality time with my family when I get home- This is priceless and I cant thank Mel enough. Quite honestly one of the best "treatment" experiences I have had. I am quite sporty and have been to see number of sport massage therapists, physiotherapists and other practitioners for various injuries or complaints. I have known Mel for a while and know that she has helped many others including me in the past. Alas, am in London now. After 6 months of increasing shoulder/arm followed by some local treatments, I decided to head back to Brighton. Over 4-5 weekly sessions, the cause of the pain was diagnosed and the treatments and exercise she set out for me just worked - like magic. I cannot tell how great Mel has been over the years looking after me with back and hip issues. On this occasion though while training for the Brighton 1/2I managed to get a micro tear in my hamstring while following a training plan. Mel saw me at very short notice and had me diagnosed and stretched out and gave me some amazing advice which really paid off and allowed me to still run the 1/2 2 days later. I knocked 9 minutes off my PB and although my hamstring was tight at the end no worse. Highly recommend.
