Reviews of Paradox Place Brighton House of Illusions

Absolutely amazing!
We visited on Friday 29th April. Upon entering were greeted by a very friendly and chatty team member, and although we had got there earlier than our booked time she was happy to let us into the galleries, and talked us through how a few of the things worked and that the best places to take photos from are all indicated by stickers on the floor.
The “Galleries” are spread out over three floors, so there is plenty of space to take photos and move about without having to worry about holding lots of other visitors up.
Two hours flew by as we were having so much fun! We took some amazing photos and it’s definitely a very instagrammable place - highly recommend for fellow bloggers and content creators as there are just so many great photo ops.
Really hope to visit again soon, and it’s definitely well worth the money. I also loved the fact that there was a small gift shop. Perfect place for families and adults.

Stumbled on this whilst wondering around, really good find. Totally recommend this. Super friendly staff and wasn't busy when we went today. 4 rooms filled with great illusions and explanation too. Spend over an hour in total. Plenty of fun for all ages. Adults £8.50. there's a gift shop too.
L. B.
We had a great time. The experience took about an hour and my 10yr old loved it. You can get some brilliant photos. It’s informative as well as fun! Gift shop has some good games too . Staff were really friendly.
A. D.
Enjoyed a visit here with group of kids , who loved the interactive nature of the illusions , so Instagramable !! So I’m told !
Friendly staff who helped us take the best shots , read the instructions , stand on the marked points on the floor for the best results.

I took my 7-year old son and we had a good time. The team at reception were lovely and helpful. We arrived early and they let us get started. There are plenty of classic illusions here, some are exhibits but many are interactive and, even for a person like me who doesn't get the camera out much, there are lots of excellent and unique photo opportunities. There are markers to tell you where to place the camera and there are even tripods available. We were in Paradox Place for 45-60 minutes and I'd definitely recommend it as part of a family visit to Brighton.
C. R.
The place is a really quirky place full of visual tricks. Different rooms to have a laugh and don’t take yourself too seriously, but serious enough to learn one of two things. The staff are super lovely and friendly, they make you feel very welcome since the moment they say Hello. Definitely recommend to visit if you happen to be in Brighton!
P. C.
We loved this place. There are some great photo experiences to be made if you take a bit of time. Lot's of laugh taking ours. We were lucky and there wasn't many people about. It's a must visit if you visit Brighton. Enjoy 😊
K. J.
Staff are amazing, so welcoming. Came with my elderly mother and my brothers children (under 10) so a mixed bag. They really catered for us all. Would definitely come again we all loved it 😍

3 adults and 2 teenagers!
Great fun! Would def recommend a visit to this little hidden gem for anyone who wants a morning of fun and laughter. Staff are friendly and welcoming! Really good value for money!
A. S. E.
Staff were really friendly and the place had some cool illusions, but we spent all of about 20 minutes there and most of it was just staged for you to take photos… this is completely fine for older kids and adults to enjoy, but young children may not enjoy it as much because of this as there isn’t much to play with or explore. The prices are also far too high for what you get.
F. H.
If you are visiting Brighton this is a must!! I had so much fun here on my Sunday afternoon with friends and family. So much effort has been put into the interior and we has such a laugh with the photo opportunities! Could not recommend this place enough :)
A. A.
Brought my 5 year old granddaughter here yesterday as a half term treat and we had an amazing time. She loved it. Very well laid out, lots of photo opportunities and learning about optical illusions. Highly recommended.
E. A.
An amazing place to visit with the family or friends. We had so much fun as a family taking photos and enjoying the experience.
G.
Had my daughters birthday party here. All the kids had such a great time and found all the attractions hilarious! Found some of the adults reverting back years to get involved too! Staff were lovely and welcoming. What a great addition to a wacky and vibrant city!.... Fatto a mano pizza too. Can't go wrong really lol!
G. W.
Loved it. loads of great photo opportunities and optical illusions to explore, take the teenagers for a good hour of entertainment. Great if you want to recreate lord of the rings special effects.
J. P.
We had lots of fun here! Kids and adults enjoyed it equally :) We had the perfect amount of time to look in each room. Very friendly staff. Thanks!
H. C.
We did the outdoor escape room with ages 7-70+ and it was excellent! Great way to explore a bit of Brighton and crack some codes along the way.
S. M. C.
This is the coolest place in Brighton! We had such a laugh and I thoroughly recommend it to all people, young and old. Special thanks to Poppy who was there to take photos for us. She and Hannah on reception are a credit to your team! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I.
This is a good place to take quirky and fun illusionary photos. There are lots of props and selfie stands kept there to take photos. The staff is polite and give you instructions on how to take photos. There is one underground and 2 floors above to take photos but all are connected by stairs so not suitable for a person with wheelchair. There is a small pram parking area inside but you need to carry your baby around as there are stairs. They have clean toilets with baby changing station available. You can also book going there as it is not that crowded. Generally 20 min is enough for you to take pictures in all galleries.
P. A.
This is a great part of a day out in Brighton - in a cool part of town that is really worth a visit. Fun photo opportunities throughout with some selfies that you will never get anywhere else. Great fun for a group of friends together and very reasonable.
M. R.
It’s a great (but one off) experience. Our kids (and us) loved it and we took some great photos.
M. D.
Really good way to spend an hour or two, our favourite was the Goggles, we had a lot of laughs trying to pick up the ducks 😅Easy to find & friendly staff
J. E.
Really cool place for the price. 8.50
Would recommend anyone in the area to stop by and have a bit of fun.
The interesting thing is... although the sets aren't particularly great, the photos you come away with are fantastic :).
D. S.
Really fun displays. Great for kids and adults alike. Trippy but in a good way. Staff were fantastic. Gift shop had some unique items as well.
M.
Kids loved it. Great Photo opertunities using Your own camara at no extra charge
J. H.
Had an amazing time here yesterday! We had a late (ish) booking and had the entire place to ourselves! Excellent value for money! Well worth a trip!
M. B.
I had spotted this place on Google maps whilst looking for parking. So glad the three of us decided to pop in. So much fun and giggles. We took so many great pics.
F.
Had an awesome time, unique and fun exhibits at a great price. Perfect for photos, and when we went there was hardly anybody around which made it even better.

This place is awesome!!! We had a brilliant time, it is so engaging and immersive. The guys that work there are fantastic too and couldn’t be more helpful. We will be back!
L. J.
I think we enjoyed it more than the grandkids! Great fun! However, we felt some of the illusions weren't as well lit as they might have been eg. Big/little room in the small corner and the Punch and Judy booth. As a result our photos, disappointingly, didn't do the experience justice. Extra seats for us oldies would have been useful, but would happily recommend a visit.
S. A.
We had my daughters 5th birthday party here and I can't recommend it enough. The staff were lovely and the kids had loads of fun.
K. C.
My 9yo niece and I had the best time here. Great to take our time, never felt rushed and the staff were great. Lovely photo ops made for fab souvenirs of a really special day.
C. H.
A great afternoon with a group of friends, there really is something for everyone from outright giggles to head-scratching optical illusions. Go along with a well-charged phone (plenty of photo ops!) and prepared to channel your inner ham!
B. S.
Fantastic place, excellent features to have fun and play with, amazing paintings you can integrate into fotoshootings of yourself and your family. We had lots of fun for more than 1 1/2 hours and came out uplifted and relaxed, still smiling. And it is not expensive, really worth the entrance fee.
H. W.
Went here recently with my niece and teenage son. We had so much fun, getting involved in the exhibits, and taking pictures. The staff are super friendly, will guide you around the exhibits so you get the best experience, and will help you out taking pictures if your group is small. If you want something unique to do and to have a proper giggle then this is a must!
K. C.
A must see in Brighton!
We’ve been to Pier Pressure before which is owned by the same lovely people and is awesome so we had high hopes for Paradox Place and boy did it live up to our high expectations.
The illusions are so clever and fun to interact with. Some are well known but there were several I’d never seen before and they are brilliant. There are lots of awesome photo opportunities which is a great way to remember a trip to Brighton and a bit different to the usual photo on the pier.
You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the creation of each space; even the toilets! The artwork from local artists is the cherry on the cake.
Bonus points for air conditioning, banging music choices and the high finish of the place. HIGHLY recommend to people of all ages. Oh, and don’t forget to exit through the gift shop to pick up some great gifts or even a quirky souvenir for yourself.
S. S.
We had a fantastic day out at Paradox Place and got lots of unique photo opportunities to share with friends and family. The exhibits are very lovingly designed and most are Brighton-themed. My children (3 & 6) loved it so much they wanted to return the very next day!
M. L.
What an amazing time I had here with my 7yr old grandson. The staff are so helpful and friendly and the experiences in all the rooms are amazing for any age. I highly recommend a visit to Paradox Place. They have put in lots of precautions to make it covid safe and there are free lockers to store your bags. A wonderful experience.
E. d.
Just happened to see a very weird post on Twitter that led me to Paradox place , I immediately booked for my wife & I but specifically to keep our 12 year old granddaughter entertained.
I had fairly low expectations as we entered the first room as it’s all quite low key & a bit odd.
Once you settle in and adjust to sharing the experience with others & occasionally helping others or being helped to understand what you have to do .
We had a great time , lots of laughs & our granddaughter loved it . Excellent value for money & some superb pictures.
M. G.
So much fun! I took my niece and we had a fantastic time, leaving with lots of great photos and memories. Suitable for all ages and great value for money. Just go!
D. S.
The exhibits were great and varied.
My 4 year old grandson was wowed .
The staff we came into contact with were all so welcoming and made a particular effort to communicate with the little one so it enhanced his enjoyment.
J. F.
Paradox Place is absolutely excellent! The staff are super-lovely and helpful, the venue is spacious and clean, and the exhibits are absolutely marvellous. My daughter and I had the most wonderful time and we will be back again soon – thank you! :-)
J. N.
What a fantastic place to spend an hour! Not like any other museum / event we have been to, a really unique experience. The kids (and adults) absolutely loved it.
s. w.
The staff were amazing for so many reasons. I came with a child with ASD who finds it hard to wait his turn and regulate his emotions at times. The ladies were so patient, understanding and kind to us. Went out of their way to give us the best experience including having one of the ladies assisting us taking all our photos in each attraction. So helpful. So patient with us leaving even when it was time to close because the child wanted to relook at everything in the gift shop. Lost my car park ticket. Went back after closing time. They let us back in and searched around the venue with us. So greatful. Best service we ever have received. Thankyou ladies.
N. J.
We all had a great time and it was well spaced out and not too busy. Definitely appreciated the timed entry to allow us time to actual explore properly. The exhibits were great fun, highly recommended :)
D. R.
Do visit when in Brighton. Had a fantastic time at Paradox Place. It was fun from start to finish. The people are lovely and very helpful. The interactive exhibits are a scream. Take your camera and have a great time.
Z. D.
I took my 11yr old son and he was engage throughout. It was great looking after the photos afterwards. We both enjoyed the experience immensely and would recommend this to other people.

Visited this fun shop earlier this week. Lovely new addition to the north laine especially when the staff are so friendly! The girl with pink hair running the busy shop told me a lot about the attractions you offer which I will be coming to soon with my family. She was very helpful and showed me lots of interesting toys you offer for the kids. Can't remember name but thanking her for being so helpful and engaging with my excitable children too lol :-)
J. M.
A little gem of a place to visit. I thoroughly recommend it.
It will appeal to a range of ages as well as the adults too! I will definitely be recommending it to my friends!
The staff are very friendly and I guarantee you will have lots of fun!
T. B.
It was a good experience, well run and a novel idea! Staff very friendly and helpful too!

My 8 year old daughter and I visited on 26th June at 10.30am. The staff greeted us warmly and gave us lots of info about the place before we started off . The rooms are clean and spacious and the free lockers for our bags and coats were very useful ! My daughter loves optical illusions so was very chuffed to see some of the things like the Ames room which she has seen on YouTube in real life ! A lovely staff member ( girl with long hair didn’t catch her name sorry !) engaged with my daughter on the colour / word game and took lots of great photos which mum loved ! We have shared our experience with the mums and dads of our class at school and some of them will be visiting soon. This is a great place as part of a day out in Brighton and very good value . Thank you ☺️
Mark & Leah from Worthing.

Great fun with lots of illusional photo opportunities, I went with 2 older teens who are quite vocal about what they dont enjoy, they actually enjoyed the experience we all came out smiling and laughing. It isnt a huge place but has alot going on, all on different floors.. Really recommend.
D. M.
Had a really good afternoon in Brighton today. As we were walking back to the station we came across Paradox Place. As it was quiet, we were given a tour of the place by a very nice person who was very helpful. There are some really fun illusions to interact with and some great photo opportunities. I hope this venture does well and develops further over the years. I could see this being a a really cool venue for a birthday party etc.
J. H.
Unusual and good fun for all the family. We managed to spend a very long time here and enjoyed every minute. Got some brilliant and rare photos :)
C. V.

This is great fun and deserves to be one of Brighton's must see attractions! Very well designed. Great for family and professional and friendly staff.
M.
Had never heard of this place but was having the grandchildren for the day so googled days out in Brighton very easy to book online for same day. Kids had a great time as did adults a hidden gem in the North lanes area
J. G.
Fun and interesting, well worth a visit 👍
B. M.
Paradox Place gave us a unique experience, with a touch of Brighton to it. We, adults and kids, totally enjoyed the variety of illusions, alike. It would roughly take an hour to cover everything here. I would strongly recommend Paradox Place for anyone who visits Brighton.
L. S.
In what has been an incredibly tough period for the arts and attractions, it's so wonderful to now be able to take part in a unique experience such as this. Paradox Place can be enjoyed by both children and adults, a rare feat. It's genius, clever, and incredibly fun. I can't recommend Paradox Place highly enough.
A. S.
Fantastic, great fun for every generation. Especially the Brighton related scenes have appealed to us. We visited similar attractions in Vienna and Hamburg, but this is simply the best.
N.
Visited with a friend and 4 kids aged from 4 to 9 and we all had a great time. Staff were very polite and the themed rooms were brilliant, would definitely recommend a visit.
S. G.
Great fun a really different experience would highly recommend
D. H.
We didn't go into the House of Illusions: we were there for the Project Pandora escape game. It's a really novel game design: they give you a gadget and a map, and you follow the route on the map which takes you around the North Laine and the Royal Pavilion, doing puzzles in various places with the aid of your gadget.
As an escape game that works really well: we galloped around against the clock, but you could easily stop anywhere for a cup of tea if you want a more relaxed experience. The game would work well for a family, with a mix of easier and harder puzzles, but you do have to use your imagination a bit for the theming, because you don't have a host or set dressing to make it immersive.

Great fun.

This is a fantastic gem of an attraction in central Brighton. So much fun. My only hesitation in recommending it to anyone, is that it *is* reasonbly physical. You have to walk up and down stairs, and some of the exhibits require you to lie on the floor, sit on the floor, climb into a small space, etc. It was much more interactive than I'd imagined, much more fun.
T. S.
Great fun, loads of interactive attractions with loads of fun photo opportunities for all ages! Thanks for a wonderful time!
