Having suffered pain from an ankle injury for over 12 months and tried every other avenue I came across an advertisement for Cura Clinical. To be honest I approached James more out of desperation than hope but on the basis of nothing ventured…. Based on his advice embarked on a course of MBST therapy. It took some time to show results as James warned me of but the results have been remarkable. I would highly recommend Cura to anyone with joint injuries that are slow to heal. An additional bonus is that as well as being an expert in his field, James is a really nice chap!

I had been in constant pain for 9 months with severe arthritis of the ankle joint. The joint had very limited movement and an ankle specialist consultant said that my only option was to have an ankle joint fusion. Then 11 months ago I found James and MBST treatment. I had a blast of MBST which breathed new life into my joint and the pain began to reside to only occasional bad days. I still visit James every 5 weeks or so for acupuncture, Physio etc. I am able to manage the condition and play some gentle tennis and go about general day to day life with out that continual gnawing pain. After years of physical activity through sport, yoga and enjoying walking holidays my left knee was increasingly protesting, any stairs were agony up or down and I was always worried the knee was going to collapse under me. After an x-ray which showed not much cartilage left on the lower inside part and early signs of osteoarthritis , all the dear old NHS could offer was painkillers and eventually a new knee in about 6+ years! Well, I wasn’t going to accept the impact that would have had on my life so I started researching other options. At the same time, a friend mentioned a relative of hers had been successfully treated by James. Having checked out the Cura Clinic website & read all the info and reviews I contacted James who was sure he could help. He explained everything carefully at a consultation appointment, examined the knee and showed me the MBST equipment he uses. There was no pressure but I decided to go for it so, in November ‘20 , the treatment began. After 3 days I was already feeling less pain and it just got better and better. Closely following James’ advice to drink water all day to help the cell regeneration, by Xmas I was doing things using the knee without thinking then realising I had done it! The swelling had reduced 100% and both knees continue to be the same size now. I fully realise the response times vary and are influenced by timing and diagnosis so I have been lucky with that. I have had several follow up appointments for laser, acupuncture and electrical treatment and now have hardly any pain. I can go all day without having to stop and make adjustments as I did before. I have started walking again and completed several 3 - 4 mile hikes over uneven terrain. After the first one my knee was a bit sore for a couple of days but now I have little reaction. It can be a bit stiff when I get up but a few steps and it’s fine and stairs are no longer excrutiating and to be avoided! One of the main gains for me has been the confidence I now have in the strength of my knee again and I can walk at a good sustained pace. Since 29th March I have played tennis twice with huge relief. James has always been friendly and so supportive with his advice and treatment. For me, it has been the best use of lockdown. Thank you James.

I had MBST treatment with James at the end of 2018 and I’ve had excellent results. After a well known and nationally renowned knee specialist acknowledged that I needed a replacement knee, he asked if I’d consider MBST therapy beforehand to see if some improvement could be gained to prolong the surgery. I said I’d try it and he gave me Curaclinic/James’ details. After walking in on a stick and could hardly drive before my treatment, I’m now pretty/very active. Cycling and mountainous walking etc. The knee is still painful with certain actions but manageable. So a great improvement and looks like I’ll escape a new knee for the next foreseeable. At 59, the main benefit being the longer I can postpone the surgery, the less likely I’ll have revision surgery in the distant future - a second new knee! James was extremely professional, realistic, knowledgable, friendly and clearly excellent at his job!

I turned to James, and Cura Clinical, after suffering from a slipped disc in my lower back. At the time of my first visit I could barely walk, and was struggling to sleep or work because of the level of pain I was experiencing, mostly due to the bulging disc resting on my sciatic nerve. Definitely the best chiropractor I have been lucky enough to find ! I first saw James after an horrendous lower back disc herniation..I could hardly move but managed to shuffle into James clinic with my partner's help. I finally couldn’t put up with the knee pain I had any more so finally went to see someone. I was referred to James by knee surgeon Mr Jonathan Web for some MBST treatment for the arthritis I had. I am a sceptical person when it comes to treatments that you can’t “see” happening but I am sold whole heartedly on this treatment and James’s enthusiasm and explanation of expectations. My knee has gone from hardly being able to walk on it at times to not even noticing it’s there. I had been told by a hip specialist that I needed a hip replacement and being a (relatively) fit and healthy 42 year old yoga teacher - I wanted to look at alternatives.
