Reviews of Willsbridge Mill
A. P.
Great place to visit especially on nice day, sat outside with drink and cake, friendly staff as always. Noticed improvements in pond area, well done, looking good, I managed to raise a bit of money to help fund this. Great place for walking dogs, they can have a paddle in the stream close by.
F. T.
Lovely walk yesterday with a great friend.
Stopped halfway for a delicious 😋 Hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows in the lovely cafè.
Lovely walk back. Beautiful flowers, Spring at its best!
Great to be out in the fresh air even if it was raining 🌧
C. M.
The valley/nature reserve and mill are hidden gems with lovely woodland walks that’s adjacent to a Siston Brook, river and an oasis for wildlife. There are two ponds one new the other repaired thats home to frogs, dragonflies, damselflies, pond-skaters, water-boatmen, newts etc. Many birds can be seen and heard including kingfishers, woodpeckers, jays, buzzards, dippers, robins, wrens etc. I’ve been fortunate to see bats but as yet not seen the resident badgers, foxes and otters. I love the seasonal flowers especially the snowdrops, bluebells and crocuses, it’s a photographers dream to visit here.
There are lots of activities for families including forest school for children. There's a good café where the coffee and cakes awesome. The Artwork includes several amazing mosaics, the latest is a large newt, animal wood carvings and signage. Love Willsbridge its definitely worth a visit.

I like this spot for a nice little walk. Not very big, but big enough for a walk & bit of exercise! Close to longwell - perfect for regaining a bit of sanity if you have the misfortune of having to go to the shops at the weekend!! (Aka, me today)!.
Nice looking cafe, always people there & cute wildlife garden
A. x.
This place is so pretty! Set in a lovely area - limited parking when busy though. Wish we had time to explore it more but it has a little working water wheel model that was made in an external collaboration project (was pretty obsessed with it) and it’s so well maintained with lovely small gardens to explore. There’s a café that looked very nice as well. The staff were nice and explained about the one way system so we don’t all bump into each other! 🤭
N. R.
Nice little country park with interesting woods and river side walks. Tea room wasn't open as was late on a Sunday.
A. A.
We had a lovely morning spent here. We played in the water and in the woodland dens. We looked at the wildlife in the ponds and had a great time. The areas were well maintained and even though dogs are allowed in some of the areas there was no dog poo anywhere.
We stopped at the cafe for lunch and it was clean and well stocked. The ladies serving were very kind and hospitable. The menu was simple but came out quickly and was tasty. And lastly, considering the footfall, the loos were incredibly clean!
A. H.
Lovely mill building surrounded by river and woodland walks, a real delight. Also a little forest school with a couple of ponds.
I. R. B.
Perfect place for taking the kids. The stream and nature ponds are great for teaching kids about nature. Shame the Café isn't open longer hours. But can always take a flask 😉
M. H.
Lovely walking area with coffee shop, stream, woodland, local estate and nature feel. Only slight downside is the parking is a little tricky, took us a while to get a space!
g. j.
Just visited as I saw it in an article on Bristol Barkers website, so glad we did, a lovely little place hidden away in the suburbs. Nice place to walk the dog and have a paddle, and the food and drink in the tea room is fantastic. Well worth a visit.
S. W.
Great walk about in some woods. Also fantastic ponds with a superb cafe for coffee and sandwich after.
m. S.
If you have not been here for a while lots of pleasant changes have taken place around the Mill and the gardens, well worth a visit as a free admission place. A great day out for young families, the cafe does nice soup, coffee tea and other delicious meals and beautiful slices of cake. Let the kids paddle in the stream. Park in long beach road longwell Green and walk into the Mill from there down the slope into the woods.
D. C.
Great local place to take your little one for a walk and an explore. My five year old loved the fairy wood, and the lizard bench In particular. While we were there we saw a gigantic dragonfly! Looking forward to the wildlife pond being fully bedded in so that we can come and do some pond dipping!
D. H.
Lovely brisk walk in the sheltered valley during very early spring with snowdrops and crocus in plentiful! Amazing medieval bridge and enchanted fairy garden as well! Shame the cafe wasn't open but hopefully soon! Really enjoyed our first visit here!
D. T.
Its a lovely place for walking, we did the big 6 mile circuit. We went via the Avon Valley Railway which is definitely worth a visit, across the fields past the former Cadbury's Factory and back to Willsbridge Mill. There is a free car park there, and cafe. The mill is open for visitors now. They have a museum and shop there.
A.
follow on Facebook for the events held at this location, aside from what they put on willsbridge is a great and safe spot for young children to learn and take in wildlife, there are plenty of walks and of course there is history. top place.
J. W.
This is a lovely nature area, with a brand new pond area to replace the old bathtubs, bursting with newts, dragonflies, damsel flies, and other beasties. The cafe is staffed by lovely people, helping make it a great place to bring kids.
R. M.
Nature still keeping as it's. Keeping very neat. Lovely place to walk around and Enjoying the nature.
C. C.
A great place to walk with little ones. With woodlands and river and garden areas. Pre Covid tjere was a little cafe too. The car park only accommodates 3 cars so park on the road if you can.
R. G.
Quite often walk around, you can walk in a complete circle. much better in the summer but as long as you dress for the weather all ok
E. M.
Walked here with my nephew from Warmley through the woodland paths and the whole day was a glorious adventure. Went at Easter and they had an Easter bunny hunt on which I LOVED. The fairy woodland is somewhere to truly escape what it means to be a responsible adult, there's a cute cafe, and loads of little trails out and about.
Worth taking a little towel so you can dip your feet in the river.
Love it here.
M. R.
Lovely place to walk around with friends and family. The work put into this place should be appreciated and supported. Stop off at the coffee shop for food and drinks too.
K. M.
A lovely local walk that we take along the river fairly frequently. We didn't spend a massive amount of time here on this visit as there are renovations taking place at the moment around the pond but the kids enjoy wearing their wellies and walking up and down the river and the small café is good if not a little expensive
C. B.
Lovely walk and wade with the doggos
R. B.
Absolute quality. Loads to do with small kids. Build stuff in the river, catch water boatmen in the dipping.pond, hunt for fairies, ride a badger!!
M. A.
Quaint tea room. Nice selection of salads for summer. Sandwiches and cakes scrumpy. Only problem noisy dog.
C. L.
Wonderful nature reserve in the middle of three counties. Ideal for a nice day out or for a wild adventure in the forest.
W. M.
Shade and water on a hot day. Nice walks. Lots of dog walkers around but social distancing possible.
Spotted King Fisher at the bridge. Good for pokemon gamers.
G. H.
Great places for a coffee shop and a walk - surprising amount of space plus excellent children's facilities for various ages. Also a paddling area with dry deck for the parents.
J. E.
The paths can be wet and slippery so wear suitable shoes it's still a very beautiful place to visit and take your time and enjoy your visit. It has been improved since my last visit so please go and visit.
t. p.

Nice nature n bike ride trail with the kids. Good lil cafe😌🙏
M. N.
Take the kids it's free, lovely nature walks and a river with a pair of kingfisher's nice cafe too
M. G.
A great place to learn about nature nice cafe friendly staff
N. P.
Check out the newts in the pond! They are super cute.
Lovely short walk with or without dogs with a good chance to spot kingfishers. Cute café.
S. B.
Great walk and seen some hours as well all good .
J. B.
What a gem of a place! There is a lovely 45 min circular walk that takes you along both sides of the river and is suitable for those on two or four legs. For those on wheels there is lots to access in around the mill area but the natural terrain along the paths is too bumpy for pushchairs or wheelchairs. So many birds to see and hear and lots of opportunities to drop down to play by the river. New features include a fairy garden and a soon to be opened pond area all blended in skillfully with the Woodland surroundings.
I. H.
A good place to visit lovely cafe and nice walks
J. K.
Lovely walks and a cafe to finish off. The birdlife is lovely to see and the volunteers put a lot of effort into maintaining this venue. I often walk my dog here
R. L.
Great place kids and dogs love it walking in stream kids love it
H. A.
50p for a Freddo???? Despite the stench of arrogance, this is a really beautiful little valley where you could spend hours enjoying nature
t. b.
Such a delightful walk, very peaceful

30th Wedding Anniversary, buffet prepared on sight was excellent .Private party
m.
The Christmas choir was brilliant five star to them. But the Mill very badly organised they didn't take advantage of the crowd that turned up . Everyone had to line up for a hot drink or food in the same line.they could of at least put a separate drinks station outside. The wait was too long for that cold weather.they had the perfect Christmas settings for mulled cider or wine coffee, hot chocolate ,we left to get our drinks in a place just around the corner, opportunity missed I thought.☹️
T. L.
Beautiful place, so peaceful, clean and tidy, they have recently done the pond areas up and its lovely xxx
J. B.
Great for walks and well kept.
M. R.
Nice place to walk the dogs and a lovely little café
K. W.
Lovely circular walk with options to go further if you want a longer walk. A pond to spot frogs in and a wildlife garden. Great spot for a picnic and there is cafe but it was closed when we went, closes Monday and Thursday. My kids really loved it.
L. S.
Great nature reserve with community ran cafe on site
D. P.
Great for family walks, it has an angel garden, and many different walks, the cafe is also lovely and reasonable in price with great quality food.
Z. W.
Beautiful place and lovely people. Highly recommended it.
G.
They have been working pretty hard over the last year and there are some great revamped planting and areas. This is still a work in process but well worth a little walk to and around especially in these "Lockdown" days. It is a little oasis of tranquility & charm. The new Fairy Garden is a great idea & not just children who will love.🧚♂️
N. D.
Well worth repeated visits, not to mention the lovely cafe!
P. H.
A place worth cherishing. Coffee, cakes and snacks. Situated in the wooded area surrounding the Siston Brook and the old mill. Evidence here of the old dramway used to transport coal by horse and cart diwn to the wharf on the river Avon.
A. f.
Lovely little hidden gem ... Interesting and especially good for kids with the learning area pond and nice short shady walk by the river for the adults! ... Nice tearoom too
P. B.
Always nice to have a walk around.
H. C.
I'm really glad the coffee shop opened back up after so long without it. It's a really nice cafe with very friendly staff and reasonably priced. It's nice to sit outside and munch on a nice day and a great place for a walk. It's a shame the gift shop isn't open any more though - I used to get some great presents in there - and I miss the cheese scones.
S. S.
Great place to splash around, easy walk with older people, buggy can be "hard going".
Nice green pocket in build up area
Coffee place is nice stop
M. P.
Beautiful bit of woodland tucked away in a former quarrying and mining area. Loads for kids to explore and great opportunities to see wildlife. Narrow paths and muddy in places so remember your outdoor shoes
K. E.
Great ponds and river walk.
h. c.
A lovely nature reserve with great walks and close to my home - I can walk here from my flat without ever goingcon the road. A really nice cafe as well but I wish the gift shop and Mill would open more often.
l. a.
Lovely little place, never knew it was there. Small shop, walk, children's play area with river and pond. Nice café.
G. D.
Lovely little nature reserve on the doorstep of Bristol. The place itself is small but offers an immersive experience in wildlife that branches off and away following paths like the Old Dramway.
r. k.
Lovely spot, lots to explore even without access to the cafe. Looking forward to going back in the spring to have a paddle in the river and see how the new landscapes are coming along 😀.
J. B.
Lovely little place to stop off with the family. Not much seating, especially with social distancing but they've made a good effort to comply with space.
