Reviews of Leiston Film Theatre
D. P.
Just one of the best little theatres you'll fine. Lovely place and lovely staff - so incredibly welcoming. Wc can't wait to come back each year with DSUK Dire Straits, Seriously Collins and Prestige Sound.
M. H.
A beautiful little cinema. We are so lucky to have a couple of amazing cinemas in our area. OK its a little drive from my house to here, but worth it. Always has the latest films etc. and you can have a coffee or cup of tea while you watch the film, or waiting for the film to start. Lovely comfy seats especially if you pay a little bit more and get the luxury ones at the back. I love these seats as more leg room and more comfort for my back as I have spinal problems. Staff are friendly and helpful and the loos are spotless! Well worth a visit to this cinema.

Very impressive old cinema with a lot of history and character but kept clean and modern. Facilities and staff were top notch and prices for a cinema are very good. An asset to the community and I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.
E. J.
Friendly staff, excellent seating, comfortably warm: old fashioned but clean and welcoming. Toilet facilities exceptional (recently refurbished I pressume)
P. M.
A brilliant Film Theatre and really loved by our kids ❤️ Old and antiquated and lovely that way. If in the area a must go and see and watch the latest films but step back in time.😍
M. C.
A lovely little cinema premier seats lovely &comfortable plenty of leg room and andre rieu was brilliant x x
J. B.
A lovely friendly cinema. Super seating so a good view of the screen and good sound.

Lovely staff, well kept building. The selection of snacks and drinks is good. Cinema is nice size, sound perfect!! Toilets lovely and clean
M.
I love this theatre! The owner is super friendly and the premiere seats are the way to go, the best part is having the loo exit right in the theatre AND they play the movie on speakers in there so you can keep up with the plot! so clever!
J. P.
Fabulous little old fashioned theatre/cinema, I got the premium seats this time around & so pleased I did, comfortable with a small table in between, great for putting snacks, drinks etc on. Staff friendly & welcoming, with good choice of drinks & snacks. Surround sound is amazing too, saw No Time to Die (James Bond) it was as if I was in the middle of the action, brilliant.
R. D.
Fabulous theatre old school charm with all the latest tech
H. P.
Get down here now for a cinematic experience like no other. Such a delight for me to see the place run so professionally after so many years. Saw ABBA Sensation here and it was so much fun!
J. G.
Lovely, cosy, comfortable theatre.
V. D.
A nice theatre to go to. It was spacious and staff were friendly. We sat on the cuddle chairs which became uncomfortable after awhile but people suggested seats at the back as they were higher back and more comfortable.
S. G.
I've been using this little cinema since 1980 and it keeps getting better and better. It's a gem for the town. 👍👍👍
T. B.
Excellent time today, Value for money and covid secure. Me and my kids felt safe inside and relaxed watching Tom and Jerry, definitely going again, keep up the good work, support your local cinema. Thanks you.
B. D.
Lovely cinema with comfy seats and even cuddle sofas. Great selection of nibbles and drinks. Spotless restroom . Staff always helpful and friendly
G. M.
A nice, local film theatre selling a selection of snacks and showing a range of current films. The theatre was clean and the seats comfortable. It was very expensive for a ticket £8.40 and no student discount is available. Other local cinemas I've been to have been a lot more reasonably priced. I wouldn't go here again due to the price but if you're happy paying that price, I would say there's nothing else wrong with the place. The staff were friendly too.
A. L.
Great place for film and live entertainment with parking opposite, local to me to help support one of suffolks oldest cinemas.
P. K.
This is a cinema and theatre which is over 100 years old, the oldest working cinema in Suffolk. It provides a lovely setting whether watching stage or screen performances. We went to see a film showing of the London stage musical 42nd Street. The cinema was full and the performance outstanding so a good evening's viewing in Art Deco surroundings. They provide a wide range of films and entertainment, so I'm sure you'd find a reason to visit here yourself.

The best cinema I have been to. A Must Do when in Leiston. This well loved village icon, is 105 years old but renovated with modern sound system, seating and decor. It has posh recliner seats at the back, or standard seats in middle, well stocked kiosk : popcorn, sweets, as well as hot drinks and alcohol!
I saw the Lion King in 3D, Fast and Furious and Ad Astra, all great current movies. Evening as well as afternoon screening. They have pantomimes and shows also. I saw the cinemas 105 yr history event. A trip to the toilet is entertaining too.
M. M.
Lovely old theatre with modern tech to add to your enjoyment
J. T.
A joy to go back to the cinema with my daughter. Always a pleasure, the staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. Looking forward to our next visit.
B. H.
Great theatre - Movie and live! V.comfortable seats with optional "cuddle" & Premium table seats only slightly higher priced. Ample public parking nearby -- free after 6pm!
P. H.
Went to see Andre Rieu - Shall we dance concert last night. What a fantastic evening. Great sound quality and the staff were very friendly. Will certainly be returning again.Great little venue. Thanks guys.
P. M.
Great local cinema with nice seating, just a little bit too warm. Please turn the heating down
M. L.
Great little theatre. Feels like family run even though I think the council runs it. Staff are always very helpful and polite. One has one screen so film are limited but a great place to visit.
R. W.
Best cinema for miles with dedicated staff and always a friendly face. Superb Dolby Digital 3D and sound.
Lots of live shows catering for all tastes and the best Panto. (Book early, the tickets sell fast)
C. B.
A106 year old gem of a cinema. Just been to see Knives Out. Enjoyable evening and audience all behaved tenders. No phones, no food thrown, no chatter. Lovely
s.
Warm welcome, good snacks, comfortable seats in this old fashioned cinema
N. G.
Lovely little cinema. Very comfortable. Public car park just over the road
M. L.
Love this place. The staff are great, the facilities are good, the films are pretty current. Obviously, with a single screen, it is difficult to stay on top of everything. However, I have managed to see the films I want to see pretty much when I wanted to see them.
g. b.
watched a very funny Jack and The Bean Stalk panto, 2hrs of fun that the whole crowd enjoyed, well done to all evolved.
L. R.
Lovely old style cinema. Friendly staff. Good programme of films. Parking across the street.
F.
I love this cinema, it has good quality equipment and sound and shows good mix of various recent films and has easy parking, but is a quaint small town "picture house " as well. Going there is a friendly experience, entirely different from impersonal multiplexes, and I always go when I'm in the area, it makes me happy!
M. H.
Massive queue even if you have booked. You buy and collect tickets from the same place they sell snacks. They are also incredibly slow which doesn't help. The theatre itself is pretty and quaint
M.
Lovely little cinema very cosy, love the big plush seats with little tables worth paying the extra for the comfort. Sweets a bit pricey so take your own. Car park very close by.
G. B.
Amazingly quaint small cinema, perfect seat, view and volume for films.. (Also very clean which is nice)..
D. H.
Welcoming staff. Enjoyed the experience, 1st time visit for James Bond - adverts were soooo long I nearly fell asleep!
A. F.
What a great little theatre, so well kept and quite a valuable asset for the community. Have seen a few first run films here recently with my family. Great value and we really enjoyed the entire experience.
J. B.

j. f.

The oldest purpose-built cinema in Suffolk. Showing the latest films since 1914. Don't be fooled by half-timbered facade - it has all the latest equipment including 3D.
