Great location - very close to the adjacent runway, East Midlands Airport, at the end of the pretty village of Donington. No official parking, more of a lay-by.
Photo opportunities great and view of the parked aircraft across the runway. Good introduction to planes for the little ones.
g. n.Only issues is the little boys that turn up in their financed cars blasting music and revving in the hopes for attention, if the gates were constantly monitored it would clear them off. Other than that its a great viewing point for plane enthusiasts.

Appears to be a meet up spot for the young lads in the area in the evening sometimes.
Z. J. H.Nice spot to see and show your kids plans from close view. Also can view some spectacular landing and take offs.
W. T.If you are an aviation enthusiast living in the area you really can't go wrong here. The best times to watch planes are early in the morning, mid afternoon and in the evening. Evening is best for the cargo aircraft. This particular viewing spot focusses towards the west side of the airport where all the DHL aircraft park. Also on a typical day the planes take off on runway 27, towards this viewing point.

J. M.Nice to come here when you need some time to yourself, watching the planes go in and out is a great escape from the day to day life. The Vulcan is the highlight of this place, hats off to the volunteers for keeping the spirit of aviation alive.

B.Ideal view point across the complete airfield for families no toilets though only in the pub which do lovely meals --at the end off the lane 200yds away there is the museum open at certain times (look up East Midlands Aeropark) for times with a good mix of aircraft --on the road leading to the lane with a cafe toilets benches on mounds with parking with

N. S.Excellent place to park up to view planes taking off and landing. The airport trail which runs around the airport is an interesting walk with sculptures and information boards dotted along the path.

N. S.A great location for seeing aircraft activity at East Midlands Airport. Both civil and freight operate out of East Midlands Airport. Aircraft activity during covid times has been less than the norm but the chance of seeing a Boeing 747 or the occasional Andropov 225 means it is always worth a visit.

A. S.Great little spot, ideal for enthusiasts or just enjoyable to sit and watch. There's numerous paths and walks also, a lovely little pub at the end of the road or just bring a picnic, while away a couple of hours with the kids / dog.
