Reviews of Humberhead Peatlands NNR
E. (.
Lovley place for walk, nice and quiet. Went in morning therefore parking wasn't a problem. For 1h £1.5 or for all day just over £3. Will definitely return here.
M. A.
Great nature reserve with loads of well laid out paths and 2 viewing platforms. Will definitely be going again . Payment is a bit confusing as you had to pay using a phone app or ring to pay by credit card we didn't gave a card with us and no WiFi to download the app but there was a charity box so put £3 in there
J. A. (.
I was there around 9 o'clock AM. Very quiet. Lots of info boards showing walks and paths, and various wildlife that can be spotted. Also a replica of a Neolithic track way, and a memorial to Polish aircrew who lost their lives in WWII.
H. W.
Really quiet place - just watch out for snakes if you leave the main trails! Parking is on a donation basis only and usually parking is plentiful.
D. W.

C. g.
A fantastic place for a walk and just to get out long or short walks and bird watching on the many ponds
J. W.
Had a visit, beautiful place to visit a good assortment of plants and nick nacks.
It isn't cheap but quality isn't.
My only big was the area behind the Express country needs a good clean and tidy, if your having open and people sat close and can see inside it needs yo be spot on not just wiping round items but underneath.as well
R. L.
Stunning nature reserve, make sure that you have insect repellent handy, we were bitten all over.
I. S.
Two words to describe the Moors. PEACEFUL & SERENITY. Such a beautiful natural area.
S. Q.
Fantastic spot. Lots of routes to walk. First visit definitely going again .
A. B.
A great place for a nature ramble, lot's to see on the water & in the woods.
Look out for Adders when it's warm, lovely bird & waterfowl can be spotted from many of the hides.
(Have a good pair of boots on, as it can get a little muddy in places)

This is one of my favourite open spaces, a wonderful place to get away from things with just the odd overhead plane or distant hum of traffic to distract you. There are several set walk routes but endless tracks over the moors where you could while away time. Suitable for people who walk longer distances or those who just want to experience some fresh air and natural environment.
J. H.
Lovely walk and beautiful natural scenery. So peaceful
P. G.
Good nature reserve, plenty of walks, trails,a great place to visit on a sunny day.

We love it here. Remembered lost friends and saw lots of wildlife ❤

If your looking for peace and quiet whilst enjoying the outdoors and nature look no further, miles of footpaths to enjoy not a tarmac footpath in sight.
J. G.
Great place for a peaceful walk in lovely woodland on well maintained tracks
C.
Lovely place for a walk. Shame there's no toilets or a small cafe or somewhere to get a hot drink. But that's just being picky as you go for the walks and peace and quiet.
G. C.
Natural beauty hotspot! Unspoilt and always worth a visit.
J. M.
Well maintained Nature Reserve, trails well marked out, and lovely views. Lots of benches to sit down, something which quite frankly is sadly lacking in many reserves, parks and walks. We aren't all capable of walking for miles without a rest! Large car park and picnic area nearby to it. The area is huge, and we shall be back for another visit soon. Car park is donation only, so it's up to you, but every little helps to keep this accessible to us all.

Lovely place. Good parking. Lots of walks. Picnic tables. Unfortunately dogs on leads. No facilities open due to covid. Well worth a visit.

Needed to walk our dog, and blow some cobwebs away, so as this is more or less on our doorstep we wrapped up warmly and drove to the carpark, then spent an hour walking along a couple of the designated routes. Not many birds about today, but we still left little piles of bird seed on various benches for them. Bumped into several friendly dogwalkers along the way, and a couple of walkers with children in pushchairs. My only complaints are the numerous pot holes on the lane, leading to the carpark (which are dreadful) and the lack of somewhere to pop into for refreshments after walking.

We had a lovely Sunday family stroll around Hatfield Moors, we saw the remains of the plane crash from September 1941, an amazing piece of history. We saw plenty of ducks and Canada geese, sadly no kingfishers this time. We were impressed at the information boards and the various picnic benches and bins dotted around. Lovely place!
L. T.
Lovely place to walk around. Would benefit from some toilet facilities.

A lovely quiet walk around these amazing peatlands. A bit of a downer on the amount of irresponsible dog owners leaving dog dirt and poo bags marring this beautiful natural area.
P. S.
Really nice place, even saw an Adder!
G. S.

(Translated) A great place for long walks and photography. It was cloudy and rainy during my stay. A place with many paths for walking and jogging. A huge number of lakes, ponds and streams. And a huge wetland moorland.
(Original)
Świetne miejsce na długie spacery i fotografowanie. Akurat podczas mojego pobytu było pochmurnie i deszczowo. Miejsce z wieloma szlakami do spacerów i biegania. Olbrzymia ilość jeziorek, stawów, strumieni. Oraz olbrzymi podmokły teren wrzosowisk.

(Translated) Not far from the city, a nice quiet spot to walk. You must take something against mosquitoes!
