Reviews of National Trust - The Argory
B. M.
The Argory is such a relaxing place. Really enjoy taking a stroll in spring time to see all the beautiful flowers and the rose garden. I also loved visiting the inside of the building, the guide was really helpful and passionate.
W. M.
visit 25/10/2021: great use of the National Trust Family membership again (pays for itself after a few visits). Definitely family friendly and can take the buggy/pram around with ease. Went for the blackwater walk and not disappointed by the quality views. Lots of parking and great weather on the day. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
D. M.
The Argory has some lovely walks around the grounds that our not challenging or long and include walking along side the river Blackwater. National Trust entrance includes a tour of the house (make sure you book the tour on arrival).
Pleasant Courtyard area includes ‘The light box’ room for children, Cafe, Blackwater Books and toilets. All beside a good spacious carpark.
L. I.
Lovely setting by the River Blackwater. Couple of walks through the grounds. Charming courtyard home of small second hand bookshop and cafe. House tour is interesting. Plenty of space as well as a small play area for children.
E. M.
Love this place! Brought a picnic and some snacks for the kids. The playpark is brilliant and the kids loved the mud kitchen so muxh! Will definitely be back with puddlesuits and wellies next time! There are balance bikes to hire out and a lovely walk by the river and garden areas. A great place all round for a trip out with the family. Lovely to see a forest school site for the children to explore while passing.
L. E.
Elegant building, beautiful gardens and charming green spaces. Our favorite feature was our walk along the river.
T. K.
Great value day out with the family. Volunteers do a great job with tours, etc. Recommend the house tour and the walk around the estate.
D. M.
Lovely place to visit for a stroll round the gardens. The interior of the house is very impressive and there is coffee available with a small bookshop.
M. F.
What an overlooked gem! The grounds are beautiful, but the house and its furnishings are just astonishing. The tour guides in the house were knowledgeable and engaging, able and happy to answer any questions. The quality of restoration and maintenance of the building itself, but especially the furnishings and even personal items throughout the house, was simply impeccable.
G. S.
Enjoyed our visit today and spent 2.5 hours between the house tour (40 minutes on the hour), garden, cafe, book shop (purchased 2 used books at good value) and grounds. Walk along the river is pleasant. Play park for children. 6.50 each adult non member is good value
H.
Fantastic period home. Great tour round the house then a walk along the river..
m. L.
Lovely grounds with a picnic site and a childrens play area
A. W.
Fantastic day out and a wonderful piece of history. Give yourself time to do the blue walk but don't take a sulky teenager as they will huff all the way round. The river walk is wonderfully picturesque and take time to head to the walled garden. I would have loved it to be open and a suggestion may be to sell some of the plants on offer such as the rhubarb. Will be going back in July to experience the full house. Take a picnic to enjoy in the grounds. Another example of the great work done by the national trust.
Z. C.
An interesting, wealthy and beautiful farmhouse, hasn't been changed since 1900s, self-guided tour, but National Trust staff ready to answer any questions. Grand, vast parkland and woodland to walk and explore.
J. B.
Beautiful stately home near Dungannon with manicured gardens, lovely woodland and peaceful river walks. Park your car for free at Bond's Bridge, which can takes about 15 cars, otherwise park in the Argory. You can walk under Bond's Bridge and start your walks around the river, woods and The Argory grounds. I spent 90 minutes wandering around the trails and grounds. It's nice in the evening, when the crowds have gone. There's a superb lime tree walk that is one of the highlights of the walk and should not be missed. You have complete access to the Argory grounds and trails during covid restrictions, but you'll have to park at Bond's Bridge.
C. C.
Beautiful place to visit. Plenty to see and enjoy the many walks in the area. Bring a picnic and enjoy nature at its best. Great place for all ages - one of our most favourite places at any time of the year👍🙂
N. N.
Came back here today after a few years. The member of staff at the entrance was very pleasant and the gardens are still impeccably kept. The prices unfortunately have become quite steep and we were disappointed to see the playground has been refurbished to suit younger children. The muddy park with the zipline has been cordoned off as well, which is a real shame.
All in all, a well-kept National Trust park but in our case, not worth the entrance fee anymore.
C. C.
Such a peaceful place for a lovely walk its nice and flat all the way around and although the main house is not open due to pandemic the cafe offers hot and cold snacks and drinks to take away.
The have a large outdoor seating area and also picnic tables for your family picnics .
Lovely place to visit
H. C.
Beautiful grounds and the house is full of the most amazing things! Went to the Christmas Fair which was great, very friendly helpful staff in the café,altogether brilliant. Will definitely go again.
A. M.
Lovely river walk, relaxing lime tree walk. Interesting house and beautiful gardens
K. O.
Very well kept gardens with some nice walks. The river walk was unfortunately closed due to flooding but will be back for that as it looks a very nice walk. For people with dogs the was plenty of rubbish facilities and water bowls for dogs set out
R. M.
First time here and was delighted at the lovely walks and gardens still available during the covid related times. Main house was open for timed tours but we didn't go. As with all national trust properties you need to pre book a visit, but it's well worth it!
A. C.
The Argory has surprised me twice over. Firstly, there are a number of lovely walks through the woodland and along the river Blackwater. And secondly, the house having just reopened after the Covid pandemic closures, the interior is also fantastic. It has lots of the original furniture that the family that used to live here left for the National Trust, and kind of feels like they just left yesterday.
D. B.
Lovely house with conducted tours. Extensive grounds including river bank. Very knowledgeable guide on our visit.
S. B.
Was very good. For £5 in you can't complain. There's a lovely walk round the grounds and a self guided tour.
The coffee shop felt a bit lacking for food options. No hot foods.
A. M.
What an amazing story that goes with the national trust taking this lovely property over.. Thank you Mr Bond..
Amazing tour guide and what a great house, I do love seeing some of the trusts properties being left as they found them.
A must see if you're in the area
K. G.
Love this place to walk my dog
C. D.
Lovely house. As you can see this house was very much a dog lover! History is just wonderful of our local heroes. The grounds and gardens you just have to see for yourself. Great day for family and k9s to have great walks round. Cafe was sweet with photos of the family that live in the house, all around the walls which was nice to study.
D. S.
Fantastic location for family walks and excellent tours. Our kids fell in love with the spaces and the interpretive staff made the experience very special.
The cafe is top notch with an insanely decadent hot chocolate. The shop was well appointed and the play park could have entertained for hours. Best of all, a wonderful riverside walk framed our day at the Argory. We were so excited we even joined the Trust.
In a country of historic homes, the Argory stands out.
R. W.
Stunning house with helpful friendly guides. Multiple gardens and walks to chose from around the grounds!
I. J.
Didn't see that much of the house on the tour, only a few rooms. Cafe was ok and had a walk . Wouldn't be bothering going back though.
J. P.
Great place to spend a day.. you must visit the house, lots of information given by the guide, very good.👍🙂
A. H.
Beautiful well looked after property, great short walks around the grounds, and perfect for a picnic though they also have a cafe open along with the bookshop, toilets etc all still open. Well worth a visit.
C. A.
Nice walks House tour needs
To be booked on arrival
C. L.
Stunning place .. the most chilled enjoyable walk for a while and the historic house is beautiful....get here soon
S. S.
Outstanding period house and gardens with fantastic history. We'll worth a visit and the guides are very passionate and informative about this amazing snap shot of a families history. We'll done everybody
J. C.
Like all National Trust places it's a fantastic place staffed by employees and volunteers who love it, and love helping visitors.
It has a large(ish) house, the de facto stable block, and beautiful grounds. The house has been modified multiple times but is kept in its late Victorian incarnation. And very well kept it is.
It doesn't have the grandeur of some of the larger properties, but is more than worth a day out. Obviously if you're a member your only costs are petrol, and a cup of tea and bun in the lovely little cafe.
I've been before, I'll go again.
S. D.
Superb tour with very knowledgeable guides. The house is excellently curated, too. Friendly staff. Beautiful landscape.
G. K.
Beautiful grounds, really well maintained. Lovely coffee shop to finish the visit. Well worth a visit.
H. W.
Nice day out and we did a tour of the house which was interesting.
Lovely grounds and we visited on last Sunday of May.
R. O. d.
I'm a national trust member so wanted to visit. The place was nice. Weather was fair and a bit sunny when we visited. Nice walk along river. Passable with buggy but kind of a gravel / stone path so a little bit hard to push, especially if the buggy had anymore weight. (6week old baby and.baby bag only).
Flowers nice, not a massive variety. Few trees to climb. Nice wee cafe. I've stuck up pictures of the board so you have idea of price. Some pre packaged sandwiches like you'd find in any spar type shop. Tray bakes and hot drinks too. Ice lollies too.
Oh and a good sensory room. Not much of any light sensory things but different textures and activities (for example wee tiles on floor that have liquid in them of different colours so when stood on the liquid moves around).
Overall good spot. Nice play park too and enough green grass of you bring picnic blanket. Or else maybe 5 picnic tables.
Did house tour. Honestly not my thing but seemed good. New young girl learning did a good job of showing us around.
J. L.
Great place and the house was fantastic only disappointment was small amount of vendors
m. j.
Had never been there before but went on Sunday afternoon for a really nice quiet walk along the river and into the argory beautiful place and will be back for sure maybe when there are less flies as they were the only downside to our visit
K. B.
A rare history to this place which has been enhanced by the relics present. One of the most exiting and interesting National Trust houses I have ever visited.
B.
Best place in Tyrone :) so peaceful and rich in local history
A. P.
While the house is still closed, enjoy riverside walks and a boardwalk through a wooded bog. There's a children's playground for the little ones and a cafe with some under cover outside space.
C. D.
I am totally biased, I live close and this is a great place for short but pretty walks. Particularly nice in the summer sitting outside the cafe or on the front lawn. Probably Less going on than some National trust properties but with the sun shining on warm summer evenings walking on the path by the Blackwater is lovely.
C. T.
Lovely grounds and you can enter the lower floors of the house. Tea coffee and snacks are available.
R. G.
Visited The Argory today the 12th July which is a Public Holiday .The WiFi was down and the coffee shop was on cash only.We enjoyed a freshly baked scone with our coffee before having a walk.
N. A.
One of my favourite National Trust properties. It's a time capsule that looks and feels very much like a home recently lived in.
K.
Well-maintained Park with beautiful nature! Highly recommend.
S. C.
Excellent NT facility. Walks, house tours, gift shop, tea room and special events. Knowledgeable team and a good family day out.
A. K.
We only stopped to have our picnic in the grounds and the day was dull with showers but we still enjoyed the visit. The house wasn't open because it was a weekday in Sept but there were several picnic tables available and the toilets (extremely clean) were open. We had a walk in roughly a circle around the house. Grounds well kept with lots of extremely large and beautiful trees.
A. M.
A lovely place to visit. Great walks and a fabulous house to look around.
A. M.
The Argory delivers as usual, beautiful walks along the river or head inward along tree lined paths. Tranquil and amazing. The house is well worth a visit with great history attached.
H. S.
Beautiful setting, very peaceful with lovely walks along the river or around the gardens. Park is fantastic for kids of all ages and there are lots of other activities to keep them busy around the house and gardens. Dog friendly with a specific area to let them off the lead. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.
D. M.
Lovely national trust spot, nice walks, good facilities and nice play area.
J. M.
The history and the house are interesting. We had a lovely dander leisurely along the Lime Tree Walk, some of which is beside the Blackwater river.
E. N.
The is a grand house. The staff are terrific, they are knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic. We went as a group one of our party was a wheelchair user. The ground floor was completely accessible. The grounds around have a boardwalk in parts, easy going for wheelchairs. A little help may be needed in between sections of boardwalk. A great day out, picnics encouraged, they do have a coffee shop.
R. N.
An interesting house tour, with the opportunity to play a rosewood Steinway piano. Good walking routes around the grounds.
J. C.
Amazing place, we loved it
G. j. B.
We had a great day at the argorys annual "vintage rally" ,it's a beautiful place with great staff...it's a real must for a easy going day out 👍✌️
P. l.
Beautiful location, well maintained by the National Trust.
Had a very pleasant wonder through the grounds, from walking alongside the blackwater river on the blackwater walk up through to the play area in the Forest, making my way down to the main house, I had a walk through the pleasure grounds and rose garden, which I especially loved.
The main house itself architecturally is stunning, the main door especially with the lion motif at the top was incredible looking.
Honestly I wish I had came here sooner, I’d have loved to have seen it in the summer, but even in autumn it was a wonderful experience.
B. B.
A house with an incredible history. No spoilers here. If you’re in Northern Ireland this is a highly recommended country house to visit.
L. B.
Great family day out, we brought a picnic...little ones were offered balance bikes to keep then entertained. The lady who took us for the tour of the house was very pleasant and informative, but i must mention the the lovely lady at the entrance she was just fabulous very friendly and welcoming. We would have loved to see upstairs but unfortunately that was closed due to covid but that cant be helped x
b. s.
Great Christmas fair, plenty of craft stalls and food. Enjoyed tour of the decorated house!
R. C.
Gorgeous spot! I would highly recommend going for a visit and getting a tour around the house and walking the beautiful gardens.
P. M.
Great grounds, lovely walks, good cafe
C. M.
Brilliant family day out. Toilets, cafe and a recently renovated play park. Inside the house is also nice to see.
C. W.
Great house and walks for all the family. Must say tour of house very good very informative to a very interesting family history. Staff super friendly ....
F. c.
Brilliant place for walks and children love it as there's a play park
L. U.
Went for Halloween and it was great. Wonderful range of events for kids and a lovely place to go for a walk.
R. G.
Great place for rest, but parking £6.50 per person is a bit too much
D. W.
Beautiful house with many wonderful stories about the history of not only the house but but of the people and family's who lived there. The grounds are stunning to walk around, the staff are so helpful and always there to answer any questions you may have.
L. D.
Love it here. Brilliant for taking walks with the family and dogs. The grounds are beautiful, as is the house, and the staff are really nice. The bookshop is great for a pole around and the cafe has really good food. I love the seasonal events they hold. Definitely a place worth having National Trust membership for!!
P. B.
It's nice for a walk especially if you can get in free.
E.
Great location. Lovely walks along The Black River. Last time we saw people fishing and they were showing my family the fish they caught. A great experience and a good life lesson on where fish come from. Everyone we met was friendly but you have to put yourself out there and say 'Hi' as your passing by. PANDEMIC has taken its toll on peoples natural communication skills
R. V.
Peaceful to explore and walk through, plenty of parking (expensive on special days) but worth the visit.
W. H.
Beautiful outdoors , enjoyed the walk around the house.. unfortunately let down by the house tour ,not kept to the time stated waited 30mins to be shown around 3 of the rooms..and not child friendly ..staff need to work more on there service skills and make the public feel more welcome..even provide a simple leaflet of the place and surroundings and ask if we had been there before..
E. F.
Lovely walking place!
P. W.
Very interesting house and beautiful grounds
K. M.
Lovely day out.
s. d.
Fantastic grounds to walk around.
A must vist location
D. A.
Great spot with lots of history, house tour is a must and that view you see when you come around the corner to the front of the house is awesome.
A little gem in the heart of the countryside. A must visit for a walk no matter if your single, a couple or a family. Love it!
D. S.
Beautiful property! Only a short 20-30 mind drive on the motorway from Lisburn.
Staff are all so friendly too!
L. W.
Great place to visit. The lime trees are beautiful The house is lovely but presently restricted to only a few rooms due to covid. So that was a little disappointing. Otherwise worth the visit.
S. M.
Our local National Trust venue and we go almost every month. Beautiful gardens and walks. Fun woodland play area. Good cafe with plenty to offer. Standard National Trust entertainment on a regular basis too in the courtyard. Always a good visit for us.
S.
We had an excellent day. Took a lovely walk even with the damp weather. Got to go around some of the downstairs of the house. We were given guide sheets with information about the rooms. Had coffee, sausage roll, sandwich and a bun at the Coffee Shop. Everywhere clean and tidy, a detailed 1 way system and hand sanitizer.

This was the first time that we had visited this National Trust Property. We enjoyed a pleasant walk in the grounds and using the map provided, managed to cover most of the grounds. This included a path which takes you down to the Blackwater River which was very pleasant.
We also enjoyed walking along the boardwalk which runs from near the exit towards the river. The sound of birds along here was incredible.
The "former walled garden" was disappointing and not worth a visit. I really think that they are missing a trick here - this could be quite beautiful and would be a quiet place to relax if it was cleared up and planted since it is well away from the main buildings.
M. C.
This, totally original, country house was handed down four generations of the same family from its construction and then bequeathed to the National Trust. It was lit by acetylene lamps and, until the NT owned it, did not have electricity. It is in astonishing condition having been lovingly cared for throughout its history. We were given delightfully clear and accurate details by the all the guides, and, particularly, by Isobel. The house is gorgeous but the grounds are stunning too. It is a 'must see' property in the NT's portfolio. So sad we couldn't go upstairs but coronavirus restrictions prevented this.
R. S.
Great grounds and gardens, the house itself is well worth seeing. Bonds bridge itself is worth seeing and if your into water sports etc there is a slip way at the side of the bridge.
The river itself has some great match fishing. Roach, big bream etc.
P. C.
A favourite spot. Lovely location. Interesting house tour. Nice gardens very well kept with good walks in grounds and along river. Good coffee shop and gift shop plus well stocked second hand book shop. Staff also helpful. A gem.
T. L.
Lovely place, but not enough seating around the walking paths. The thing that bothered me the most was the wasps at the outside teashop. I bought a cream tea and within minutes was swamped in wasps so much so I ran to the car with my scone. Not a pleasent experience.
P.
We visit The Argory to walk around the grounds and along the River Blackwater on a fairly regular basis.. This is nice experience all year around. If lucky, you will see Kingfishers along the river.
However, It would be an expensive trip if you weren't a National Trust member.
S. W.
National trust owned property - can be expensive for a family but worth the trip. House is very well kept and inside tours are very interesting. Gardens are beautiful with lonely views of the river. Great playground for children.
A. T.
Lovely location and very interesting house
P. C.
Very quiet place with not many visitors. House tours are on a timed ticket and you are taken round the house by a guide who gives you the history. Fantastic view across the river from the front of the house. A few short walks around the grounds. Not somewhere to fill your day but will do for a morning. Other NT properties are nearby.
S. R.
Lovely grounds, we walked along the boundary which included the banks of the Blackwater river. Staff very friendly - we stumbled upon their wall garden which is in development and they were happy to give us the low-down. Great cafe : fresh scones !
E. B.
They have buggies available to get you around the grounds
F. S.
Good staff, welcoming and knowledgeable an interesting place to visit
s. p.
Beautiful a good day out with loads to see and do
P. I.
One of my favourite national trust properties. Homely feel to house. Tour excellent. Grounds beautiful. Lovely walks and playpark for kids. Coffee shop has great scones.
x.
This is a small but beautiful National Trust property. The house isn't big, but it is worth paying for a tour.
The grounds are nice with a few walks, but they are not very long. My favourite walk is the board walk through the swampy forest.
The reason the Argory does not get a 5 star rating is because the forest is populated by grey squirrels, an invasive species in Ireland which has a very adverse effect on the native red squirrels - basically greys out-compete them for food and kill them with the squirrel pox virus which they carry without adverse effect on themselves.
The National Trust as a responsible landowner and a conservation charity should be actively trapping and culling greys as they do at their property Mountstewart on the Ards Peninsula.
A. S.
Enjoyed the walk around the grounds.
C. M.
Lovely house, a pleasure to visit and take the tour. Stunning surroundings and gardens. A lake and different walks to take. A courtyard, with shops and a tearoom makes the visit relaxing and comfortable. A great day out regardless of the weather!
R. J.
We've been members of national trust but somehow never visited this national treasure. Beautiful walks, beautiful scenario, lovely house and friendly staff. Kids really enjoyed the play park too but watch out for the kick at the end of the zip line!
Plus there's bbq and live music every Sunday during the summer
Recommended for families
T. D.
Enjoyable day out. House tour very informative and lasts about 45 minutes. Walks poorly signposted and maps not very clear either. We were told that new signposts and maps will be available shortly. Restaurant was expensive and portion size was small. Cakes looked delicious.
H. G.
Not one of the grandest National Trust properties. But a very interesting house occupied by a family with an interesting history. There are grounds to explore and cafe. Also enjoy the National Trust shop and second hand bookshop. I suggest you link you visit with Ardress House which is nearby.
A. P.
Beautiful place , friendly staff
s. m.
Went early February to see snowdrops walks. Thought it was one small walk to find there were snowdrops everywhere. The time i got there found out the house was doing final tours which was a surprise as i thought house was closed for winter. Theyvwere tucking all the old antiques for the night but good a wee look around a nice place overall plenty of walks too
I. M.
Lovely location and grounds. Had a very interesting guided tour round the house. Well worth a visit. Did not have time or the good weather to do the walks and explore fully.
H. F.
Lovely walk coffee shop clean and tidy staff helpful food really lovely 😍
A. M.
Lovely place to take a walk.
E. “.
Have visited lots of times. Always pleasing. The house is enchanting in its authenticity. The grounds are interesting and varied and the staff/volunteers are welcoming. Snacks and meals are a pleasure, especially on special occasions.
E. W.
Good Christmas experience. Been going for the last 4 years now. Slight changes from other years with no horse drawn sleigh this year which was a shame but children enjoyed the train ride. Would have liked to seen ma Christmas in her kitchen dining room as she is a great character. Will go back next year.
N. C.
A really interesting place. Nice little bookshop in the stable yard and pleasant grounds down to the river. Our guide was passionate about the family history which helped to bring it life!
K. m.
Beautiful National trust house and gardens. Ideal for long walks along the river and through the woods. This park is a great way to spend the day and also visit the stately home.
A. H.
I think that this is the Nice's House inside that the National Trust has in Northern Ireland ( I've seen then all) One of the rooms has a piano and if there's someone in your tour can play one, then they are invited to play this one. There's lots of walks, cafe, toilets and good car parking.
J. T.
Grounds and house are fabulous, however, if you simply wish to have a cup of tea and say, a basic non fruit scone, the scone will cost £1.95, which is fine, but add some jam and it'll cost quite a bit more, which is a pity, because even the most basic cafes have the little cartons of jams available for free. Should you wish to go the whole package and include cream, this very basic and I mean basic scone will now cost you £3.20 !!....Visit the T2 cafe in Bow Street Mall and you can get a fantastic large scone, with umlimited jam and cream for £1.80 !!!...Okay, so walking around lisburn isn't quite so pleasant ??
K. M.
Spent a couple of hours here as members on a Sunday morning/ afternoon. Great for a wee walk around the grounds and at the park. Kids loved the play park. It has swings, a slide, climbing apparatus and a zip line.
E. M.
We'd a lovely walk around the grounds, a great tour around the lovely old house and then some tasty snacks from the cafe in the courtyard. The bbq and live music there on Sundays (all summer) was a bonus.
b.
Lovely place to visit. Family live locally and we've gone regularly for years. House is very interesting and walks along the river are very peaceful. Lovely cafe too
C. M.
Fantastic National Trust Property lovely walks, fabulous cafe for take away during Covid the house is wonderful and the tour is always great along with very friendly staff you cant go wrong
J. G.
It was rather dark in the house owing to the inclement weather and we had to use phone lights to see the exhibits. Otherwise 10 out of 10 for our guide Isabel who made the visit very informative and interesting. Shame the organ wasn't on - would have lived a go!
J. H.
What makes the Argory a pleasant visit? It's size, easy to get around, walks that allow all proficiency to enjoy. Country side easy on the eye, tuck shop with good coffee , snacks and buns, staff always helpful. All that and haven't even toured the house yet. Enjoy.

The ARGORY is a beautiful property with lovely walks along the the river Blackwater. We were lucky enough to spot a Kingerfisher while there. The house is well maintained by the National Trust and the guide Helen was very knowledgeable and really brought the house and its past family to life. It has a good cafe but families could just bring a picnic.
D. M.
Excellent! Was a dreary day so didn't do too much in the grounds but the house tour was very interesting. Lovely to see round a house that has staying in the same family for 4 generations.
F. H.
Beautiful gardens and river walk, bookshop and tea room too. All this and a house to visit too!
N. T.
Good walks if weather dry, but you may need wellies for the riverbank and some paths. Tour of house was interesting. Almost unchanged in more than 100 years.
J. M.
Lovely place to visit. The house tour was really interesting and our guide, Isobel, was brilliant and very knowledgeable. Gardens are lovely and fantastic big playground which the kids loved.
J. S.
Nice walks and gardens. The house is very interesting and the guides welcome questions. The cafe is quite large with pleasant staff.
p. L.
Come here every week, never dissappoints 🥳
R. A. M.
This is a lovely place to go for a walk. The house is also very interesting to visit. There is a bookshop as well as the NT shop, where you can sometimes buy plants. Well worth a visit.
E. M.
Beautiful house beautiful grounds.
M. R.
Must go if you are around Dungannon on a sunny day. Lovely walk up and down the river, around the House and grounds. Really good spot, well maintained and a good park for the kids.
T. F.
Although it was raining when we visited it was great to have a look round the house and garden. I thought the river was a feature built into the garden but actually it's the real thing.
D. C.
A big old house within an old estate one owned by the privileged classes now in the ownership of the national trust making all accessable to the regular human. Lovely grounds and walks.
F. C.
Well presented tour of house which lasts about an hour. The tour was conducted in the dark since there was no electricity, but educational just the same. Gardens put on a great show of snowdrops.
F. B.
A typically delightful National Trust property with exceptional volunteers. Great welcome at the gate and engaging guiding round the house.

Just one of the National Trust properties in Northern Ireland, I noticed the sign on the Motorway M1 and thought I would check it out.
Free parking and has an onsite cafe and gift shop as well.ad the.house and grounds to visit.
Wasn't the best of weather to be walking about around the property but it looked to be an interesting property to pay a return visit to.
A. L.
Beautifully maintained National Trust property. Well kept house and beautiful gardens. Bordering the river Blackwater with stunning views out along the river from the house lawn.
D. M.
Fantastic grounds. If you wanted to roam the grounds you could have a fantastic day. They are huge. Choice of food is not as good as other national trust buildings.
A. M.
Beautiful forest and river walks surrounding a grand house. Coffee shop is very nice and you can get tours of the grounds and house.
H. K.

I enjoy the walks around the category along the river Blackwater, they are currently building board walk areas through woodland which will be a nice added edition when finished, always enjoy a coffee sitting in.the courtyard.

We visited The Argory to visit Santa. What a place to visit Santa, truly magical, and you don't just get to see Santa, the charming Elfs really make this magical visit come alive and of course not forgetting Mrs Claus, who added that sense of realism to this special occasion. If you've young children, it's an absolute must go to at Christmas.
