Nice one hour long show to discover Eduard's main works. It was well organised, we were given a leaflet with some explanations to follow the tour more easily. I'd never seen anything similar before, I felt like I was in a different world for an hour. The number of people allowed to each show isn't very big so everyone gets to see and enjoy it. Recommend

A museum that details the history of one man's art, making animated, mechanical creations. They are displayed statically until the show begins and then using music and light, they mechanically come to life. The legacy is now going from father to son, with new creations being made.
My entire family enjoyed the experience. Each booking will highlight different installations with long and short time slots.

The detail of the artwork is incredible! The gallery and the show are an amazing mix of lived history, craft, and folk art, combining in an amazing mechanical puppet show. I cannot recommend this strongly enough. I was absolutely blown away.

A magical, bizarre but fascinating dream. This is Mr Magoriums Wonder Emporiom meets Steampunk, meets Monty Python. At times dark and political, at others, a whimsical fairytale you'll never forget. An absolute must for fans of "The Night Circus".

I visited this theatre with family. Was absolutely amazed I did not know about it. The show was brilliant and very surprising. Worth going very cool show and seeing the lifelong work of the artist who put so much work and detail into everything he did. It caught my imagination well worth checking out.

I feel so wonderfully inspired after being treated to the Wheels of Life show. Its easy to take this sort of thing on face value and walk past, however there is too much to miss if you are not careful! The hosts are friendly and knowledgeable and I felt an instantly good vibe about them all and the whole place, in fact. There is much in the world to learn and this turned out to be a rich source. Consider your own work-ethic. Then watch this show! If you are patient and you really sit and watch the fantastic and surreal shows of movement, music and light there are many subtle nuances which give a stark, interesting and enlightening glimpse into the arist's life, his experiences and work. I felt that good honest values are also present here as the whole family appear to be involved! On Sunday 22nd January 2023 I enjoyed the show and I, myself became a Non-conformist Artist following my being treated to these very valuable 'lessons' in the expressions that are there for the open-minded and creative amongst us. Thank-you.

Amazing in every single way. The show is so hard to describe but it is funny and moving in equal measure. I can see why this comes so highly recommended. Do book ahead - we were only able to attend because some folks didn't turn up, it is very popular and well worth paying for the hour long show as it passes so fast! The sculptures are beautifully made and so intricate, you won't regret it.

Really interesting exhibition and definitely worth checking out if you are visiting Glasgow. There are dozens of kinetic machines which all move and tell a story, plus music is incorporated to the entire show which makes it all that much better. The machines that are older and built in Russia by the artist are only being played in certain times a couple of times a week so make sure to call and find out when that is if possible!! It is for sure a unique experience.
R. H. M.
Best experience I found here. Unique artwork as part of an artistic show. I also amazed that this a product of family business; 3rd generation.
K. G.
It's probably not worth going to for most people. We did the 30 minute show and that was more than enough.
A. W.
A magical experience. Strange, beautiful and slightly unsettling. Steampunk and Goth fans come on down
M. Á.
Extremely talented and unique work. I highly recommend it to everyone. Eduard has a brilliant mind and looking forward to see his son's future artworks too. 😊😍 …
S. T.
Amazing hidden gem in Glasgow. The clockwork models, atmospheric music and lighting all combine to give an amazing sensory experience. Wonderful. Occasionally unsettling, always compelling. Highly recommended.
G. A.
Such an enchanting place and very different. I've wanted to go for years and finally got there and it was all I hoped it to be!
P. R.
Quite stunning -- unlike anything else you'll have seen. Complex moving mechanical sculptures, full of intricate details, and suffused with a dark, melancholic Russian humour. Beautifully lit and choreographed. It's worth booking the longer show, to see all of the pieces. Probably not suitable for under 12.
R. O.
I loved this! My wife and I didn't do much research we were just pulled in by "Kinetic theatre". We did the 30 min exhibit and would love to do the 1 hour which is only once a week. 30 mins is probably enough for kids. How each piece of kinetic art is put together is mesmerising and I would recommend it to anyone who is intrigued in the obscure.

The hour flew by So much detail. Everything was exquisitely connected. Music light & shadows brought the puppets and sculptures to life. Just magical
M. C.
Something you must see for yourself, hard to describe this rather unique, and moving experience. We loved it 😊 …
M. R.
Watched the show yesterday. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Words can't describe how much we enjoyed it. The "sculptures", the music they were set to, the so appropriate lighting, all brilliant. So worth a visit. Love, love, loved it!
S. B.
This was such a fantastic experience! My son and I visited as we were in Glasgow for the weekend. Very well put together show. The machines are just mind blowing! Highly recommend a visit.
I. W.
An absolutely fascinating and deeply entertaining exhibition. The pieces on display are thought-provoking and uniquely charming and the attention paid to displaying them to full effect is much appreciated. Sergey at the theatre could not be kinder and I strongly recommend picking his brain about the history of the art and artist if you have the chance. This is the sort of experience that you will remember forever and want to share with others.
P. R.
Really enjoyed this. Incredible mechanical art with fascinating background stories involving the creator's family leaving the former Soviet Union. The creator's son continues the theatre. Long may the exhibits keep moving.
K. S.
Most unique thing we've done in Glasgow!
z.
Must go. A Great escape from the digital world.
S. A.
A very unusual place, well worth a visit to see something different.
S. T.
Great Glasgow experience via Russia. A quirky gem.
T. T.
Fantastic mechanised art with music show. Gripping from start to end - unlike anything I have seen elsewhere. My kids loved it, and we ended up debating the art's meaning afterwards. A great holiday experience.
S. C.
Great display of unusual work, thoroughly enjoyed!
Y.
WOW.
This is just amazing! The theater, all of it, is simply put, amazing! There are many exhibitions to view, and there's also 3 big ones as a part of the main show.
We especially liked the jokes included in some of these machines. This whole thing is very entertaining.
I. G.
Incredible one of a kind gallery with a sad but important story.
Was very excited to visit this place and it did not disappoint.
It was the talking point of our meal we had afterwards.
K. P. J.
Fantastic! Mesmerising! Fascinating! A spectacle to not miss! I wish I knew there was a Russian cafe next door that Eduard made some ferniture for, I really would of loved to have started there before the performance 😊 …

Magic time. My son wants come back. Really worth to see.
t. b.
This is a fantastical and very unusual collection of creations. I loved the carved creatures and the light display of various colours, synchronized with music and the sound of the performing exhibits. It is a fascinating and touching journey exploring the human condition which includes elements of Soviet history and works dedicated to the artist's friends from the past.
Unique and wonderful!
C. S.
One of the most interesting and entertaining museums I've been to, I definitely recommend it to anyone , particularly those interested in Tingueley type art work. Many of the details in these machines are really funny and weird, don't hesitate to go!
H. M.
Such a wonderful and strange performance. Highly recommended if you like; dark humour, art theatre, Tim Burton, and Russian culture. Will be definitely going again with friends to show them what it's all about.
P. M.
Really interesting exhibition that we found by chance, it deserves much more exposure! Excellent way to spend an hour.
A. I.
Great sculptures and sound design. If you can I'd recommend the hour long show. - 1 star cause I would've liked to look at the statues a little longer in action. Still highly recommendable though!
E. W.
A delightfully strange and wonderful experience.
A. M.
Mesmerising - wonderful punk art sculptures.
M. F. (.
Visually stunning and an absolutely amazing thing to see. Quite the hidden treasure. This is far from your average show; very reasonable admission fee and the most welcoming staff! Absolutely blown away from start to finish.
T. V.
Really nice show, it's a small group visit with mechanical sculptures in action. The decor is very well fitting for what is being shown. It's a great place to visit if you have spare time.
K.
So unique and magical!! Will take everyone there as it's a show that should be experienced at least once (or more)
d. n.
Very creepy and weird (which is a plus). Also it was an interesting experience to have to follow the statues when they would start moving. For one of those you had to actually follow the sound of it ringing a bell which was very awesome and different. Loved it
T. G.
Sadly this is a much less atmospheric space than Sharmanka's previous warehouse location. It is less immersive and can display far fewer of the Kinetics. I guess this will only really impact on previous visitors and new visitors without baggage will find greater rewards.
C. C.
Weird, wacky and wonderful. Definitely worth a visit but I recommend the 1hr show. We went to the 40minute show and didn't see the older pieces in action. Definitely a hidden gem based on the 1st floor of a council building in Trongate
K. H.
Brilliant! The moving models were so interesting. The models are made from alsorts of media, wooden carvings, old boots, singer sewing machine parts, so many different things. It's better to book. Do it now!
B. E.
Without a doubt, this is one of the coolest, most eclectic cultural historical artistic craftsman experiences I've stumbled on throughout my current Earth journey.... :)
C. D.
A must see! This fantastic kinetic theatre is one of my favorite things to see in Glasgow. The sculptures are set off and come to life with there movement, lighting and music. I recommend going to the longer show as you get to see more of the sculptures (some are getting quite fragile so they are only turned on a couple of times a week at the longer shows). Every time I go to Sharmanka I am transported by the theater to another world. It is a really magical show with humour in there too.
Wheelchairs... go for it. :) it is a bit of a squeeze but every time I have been here people have been very kind and accommodating to everyone. It is good to let them know though. There is a wee comments box when you book your tickets on line so you can tell them their or you can just give them a ring to let them know.
Tickets... book! It is not unlikely that they will be fully booked so I recommend that you book your tickets on line.
Subway... It's easy to get there on the subway. Just get off at St. Enoch station go up to Argyle St. Turn right and it's about 5 min along that road on the right hand side.
C. L.
I love this place. I have been twice and planning to go back again. It is probably not for everyone but it is a beautiful exhibition. The sculptures are interesting on their own but the show is like nothing I've seen before.
D. B.
It is an extraordinary collection of kinetic sculpture with musical and lighting sequences. Copious interpretation
Is provided, but the creator left the themes to your imagination. There is humour, satire and ribaldry. One of Glasgow's hidden attractions!
A. M.
Amazing
K. V.
Wonderful experience. If you're in Glasgow, this is a must see :)
E. C.
Really interesting little place! Not what I expected but definitely worth the visit! Watching the quirky machines working while listening to the music was magical! I loved it!
C. P.
Unforgettable! A really unique experience. Felt very safe with the covid measures in place.
T. H.
Very creative and personal... A variety of marionette like machines (that isn't a good description, sorry) move and make sounds to compliment a variety of musical pieces. It sort of reminded me of the movie Coraline but 100x better!
A. B.
A true hidden gem. I've met loads of people who hadn't heard of it, but nobody who didn't want to go once you tell them what it's all about.
j. m.
This place is really magical, all the sculptures are so intricate and strange before they move but it is such an amazing experience to see them come to life! It it not open every day but you can phone ahead to book a ticket. Very well worth while as there is nothing else like this.
Z. D.
This is a very difficult place to review, it's very different and artsy, so probably not for the type of people who don't enjoy regular galleries. I found it strangely fascinating but I'm not sure I enjoyed it. The pieces are essentially sculptures made of scrap metal with motors used to make them move to music and light. It's a strange setup and a bit eerie, I don't think kids would enjoy it though they are allowed.
I think for the £8 price it's worth the value for the intricate design, music and uniqueness of it all... it's a 45 minute runtime which goes on a bit too long in my opinion and while some of the pieces have clear themes and depict intriguing narratives, others feel cobbled together - from the ostensibly random items stuck onto the sculpture to the lazy short write ups. It's a bit inconsistent, but sometimes that's part of the charm, as you move around the room from sculpture to sculpture in the order they play (I liked how they didn't move along in a line.
I'm not sure if I would recommend it as I'm not certain I enjoyed it, but if you do choose to go, be aware: shows are on at weird times and not all that often so look them up in advance!

Inventive. Innovative. Interesting. Must see.
L. N.
Fantastic. Refreshing, fascinating, creative and exciting museum of art!
G. S.
This is an amazing place, showing the work of Eduard Bersudsky, an extraordinary sculptor and engineer from St Petersburg. His sculptures are quite unique and to see them gathered here makes for an unforgettable experience. An unmissable part of Glasgow's art scene.
N. L.
Amazing display of automaters using anything available to create these mechanical works of art, and actually seeing them working was the cherry on top.
J. C.
Very nice but they allow too many people at once. It was difficult to see a couple of the attractions. Still a very unique experience.
P. C.
They have a big collection, all seem to be in great working order. They have organised them well and it is lovely how they light them up and set them to music.
R. C.
A fascinating blend of theatre, mechanics and puppetry. Occasionally unnerving but spellbinding from start to finish.
A. S.
Friendly space
D. T.
This is definitely a must see. An absolutely brilliant show

Hidden gems in Glasgow. Loved the show very much. Kinda weird but also chicky and funny at the same time. A must-see performance.
I. U.
One of Glasgow's secret treasures. This is NOT arty farty!
A room full of crazy performing machines built from scrap by a lovely Russian artist called Eduard. Don't even try to read too much into them but you will probably absorb a little russian history by osmosis. Go with an open mind and let the sound and movement and bells tell yourself a story. If there is one. Eduard is not sure either!! Inside some, little rat sculptures will operate levers and wheels and in others wee skeleton figures drive steam engines.
Children love the machines. 3 years and up like seeing all the bits moving and its a great option for a rainy day. Go to the shorter show if you are worried about attention span. Cafe cossachock is downstairs and you can have a wee russian themed afternoon. You might love it, you might hate it but you will never know unless you go.
H.
A different and enjoyable experience.

Very stimulating and fascinating exhibition. You won't quite see anything like it. You will struggle to pick out your favourite machine out of the lot.
M.
Breathtaking, eerie, mesmerising and creepy... An astonishing set of creations from an incredible imagination. Has to be seen to be believed.
D. G.
I visited this place a year ago. I don't know why Google is just now asking me to review it but it was great! I remember having a friendly conversation with the woman working there.
S. V.
Still decompressing from a visit to this place twice in one day. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Rather difficult to describe but if you like things that move and have coloured lights do visit. Not many performances so check before travelling far.
B. M. F.
Incredible! Please note it isn't easy getting in touch with them to reserve seats, if it is a weekday just arrive a half hour early. So worth it!
K. D.
One hour is more than enough.
R. G.
Wow!!!! Must see.... I only thought this kind of things existed in movies or in the 1800's. The mixture of moving machines, music and light is amazing.
M. S.
Super quirky, proceed with caution. This doesn't always suit everyone's taste, but is certainly worth a visit if you have the time
