Reviews of The Birks Cinema
N. C.
Beautiful cinema with old school picture house vibes but is actually a modern facility at the heart of the town centre. Close to all the main shops, pubs and takeaways too, it offers a great range of current films as well as less mainstream ones....well worth a visit! Baking in the cafe is clutch!!!
J. P.
Undoubtedly the best place to go see a film North of the Central belt.
Comfy seats, great sound, lovely cafe and a wonderful atmosphere.
Your not greated by staff who clearly want to be anywhere but like in a big chain, but by a warm smile and an honest welcome. Your going to see a film with YOUR community and its all the better for it.
A. G.
Brilliant wee cinema... great welcome, plenty food and drink...my husband was last there 57 years ago.... We saw the new Avatar movie which although lengthy was AMAZING.... a lovely way to spend a wet afternoon
A. S.
Really enjoyed our evening. The cinema is beautifully decorated with a nice bar/cafe area - nachos we're great, fresh and tasty.
Staff are friendly and helpful, comfortable seats in the cinema male ot a great experience.
J. W.
My group of 14 walked in on Sunday morning for tea and cakes and they were very welcoming and managed to serve us all with an excellent attitude. Food and drinks were great too!
J. T.
This cinema is a little gem of a find, because of its size it gave a very intimate feeling of watching with friends, the seats are so comfortable, no smelly hot dogs or popcorn no one sitting playing on their phones. There's a great cafe in the foyer where you can have something substantial to eat or cake and coffee or wine. To me it was the best visit to the cinema in many many years. Its a long way for us but worth every mile and the scenery through the Sma Glen is spectacular. We shall be back for sure, loved it ❤ The film we saw was Fisherman's Friend's it was fantastic.
N. C.
Small local community cinema.... Which is a concept I was previously not familiar with. Very pleasant experience with exceptionally friendly staff, a comprehensive cafe and the ability to take drinks into the small auditorium (which nonetheless had a full sized screen and surround sound). Brilliant. Would definately be a regular patron if I didn't live 250 miles away!
B. M.
A lovely old Art Deco building in Aberfeldy brought up to date inside with a light, colourful and open interior. The cafe is lovely and the staff were very friendly on my visit, plus there was a good range of fresh cakes and bakes to choose from.
J. M.
Wonderful venue for a special simultaneous screening. All staff were so helpful and friendly. Will definitely visit again.
E. S.
Had a lovely late breakfast with my party of 14. Lovely, accommodating staff and food was great too! 😊 …
T. D.
Excellent cinema. Highly recommend a visit. Limited to one screen, so you will have limited viewing choices. However, that's not really the point. You're supporting a vital leisure service. Costs about £10 per person. Serves light food/snacks, drinks, wines, beers. Always visit when on annual Scotland trip 👍😎👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ …
I. H.
Lovely independent cinema, showing the latest released movies. The seats are comfortable and toilets are clean. Also a wide range of food and drink. Nice that the volume in the auditorium is not too loud.
J. R.
Loved this cinema. Clean seating. Friendly staff. Much improved from the run down bric a brac store that was here many moons ago.

A community run cinema & cafe. Beautifully Art Deco on the outside and fantastic facilities inside.
Wide range of Food and drink on offer and if you are a watching a film the cinema itself is modern and comfortable. Check out locally brewed beer for sale inside.
Well worth a visit if you're visiting the area.
R. H.

Fantastic coffee! We had a delicious full Scottish breakfast for a very reasonable price. We kept going back for coffee each day, had pizza in the evening and watched a movie in their beautifully restored picture house. The staff all smile at you and take pride in the great job they do. Couldn't rate highly enough and we will definitely be back. Colin + Mairi from Morayshire.

What a gem of a find popped in just to use the public loos and ended up having an amazing full Scottish breakfast hot and tasty coffee was good and the food was lovely the haggis and bacon inparticular.

W. L.
My Grandson's use the cinema at least 3 times a month. We are so lucky to have this gem right on our doorstep. They offer much more than just a cinema.

Another great music night. We went last year and really enjoyed it so much we went again tonight.
Update 2022 - after having to miss 2020 and 2021 it was really great to go back. Many familiar faces and a lot of new ones. A lovely evening and a big thank you from my wife and I to all the musicians

J. P.
Friendly staff, great cinema. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely loved this cafe. The husband and wife that were serving today were welcoming and friendly. We had the cauliflower broccoli and cheese soup. This was AMAZING!!! Seriously I love soups and this didn't need any seasoning. It was creamy, rich and comforting. Definitely going to try and replicate at home. It was served with a warm bread roll which was very tasty. We had a couple of lattes to go along with our quick bite to eat. They were very good and hit the mark on presentation and flavour.
E. M.
Staff excellent Coped brilliantly with our large group of 52 for morning scones tea/coffee
C. H.
A lovely cinema, great staff, good cafe and comfy seats in a lovely small auditorium. Beautiful Art Deco building. Oh, and Jimmy Bond!! Thanks for a great evening.

Just had a fantastic days up at Kenmore, and popped along to Feldy for a wee visit. Last visit the the Birks cinema it was just a shell work hadn't started on the revamp, so a few years later we returned today and wow what a fantastic community hub it's, the cinema is showing all the top movies and with a well informed time table, and the cafe serves a brilliant capachino. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
A. C.
Always lovely to visit, good coffee to take into the cinema, good seats, great range of films. Never bother with big chain cinemas now 😃 …
S. D.
Fantastic little cinema with a cafe in the waiting area. The cinema itself was comfortable and you could take drinks in with you. The sound was perfect, not too loud as I have found in most cinemas now. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
E.
Visiting Aberfeldy moness resort and found nothing really to do as it was snowing ,shops were closed unusual for a Saturday afternoon so decided to go watch a film to pass some time.
L. D.
Very good little non-profit, volunteer run cinema with top movies. It has one screen which is a good size and a small cafeteria that serves food and drink. A very good cinema, the only reason we don't go there to watch every movie is the location.
R. M.
Fantastic time at the drive-through cinema. The staff were excellent, and the movie was great. Would highly recommend going.
A. U.
An amazing facility for a rural location. Have just enjoyed the film version of the west-end production of 42nd Street. Fab-U-Lous (darling) and great to know we can just pop down the road to enjoy this totally uplifting quality of production without having to get on a plane, or take the 200mile round-trip to Edinburgh.
C. C.
Outstanding little cinema. It's just like the picture houses that I remember as a boy.
J. M.
Stopped off for coffee and scone before walk today , well organized, staff very nice
