Reviews of Leeds Playhouse
P. C.
Have seen shows in their main Quarry Theatre and the Courtyard Theatre and everything we've seen there has always been fabulous. They put on some great original productions and are a great venue to see touring productions at. Seats are comfy and well positioned so there's no bad seat in the auditorium. Staff are fabulous
Strong contender for best regional theatre in the UK!
K. R.
First first here since they renovated. Wonderful theatre,we watched a stunning performance of Macbeth. Wide variety of genres. The only thing that spoilt this was some people sat behind us rattling their tub if sweets. Not really a place to be eating in,8n my opinion.
D. L.
It was my first time in the play house since it had been redone and it was magnificent.
Nicely laid out, the staff, as always, were friendly and helpful.
The auditorium itself was clean, people were ushered in efficiently.
A wonderful place to see a show
r. m.
Incredible experience Wendy and Peter , wow cast were amazing . Staff so friendly and my favourite , tinker bell ❤️❤️❤️ . Great time with my sister .
J. L.
Love the Leeds Playhouse, (formerly West Yorkshire Playhouse), am amazing facility, two great theatres, one small and intimate, (saw The Importance of Being Earnest in Courtyard, and it genuinely does feel intimate and close), the other large for epic technically impressive productions.
You get the impression that the people that work there genuinely are passionate about theatre.
The cafe is lovely, not tried the restaurant yet though, but can only imagine it's lovely based on the rest of the facility.
If you get chance get a ticket for something, (they're generally tragically priced, but there are also some great low cost productions).

Saw the ballet in the quarry theatre. Great value for money and fantastic venue with comfy seats, reasonable leg room and good views from every single area. No obstructed views. Well designed. Bar could be a bit more Bar like and a bit less cafe vibe. But other than that amazing
L.
Went to see Maggie May with Maxine Finch playing Jo. Very uplifting play, in spite of the main theme, dementia. Great cast performances. Loved it. Felt uplifted at the end.
B. S.
Went to watch Charlie and Choc factory. Great performance great venue. Seating in the theatre was good though no problems with not being able to see because of people's heads or size. Beverage place near entrance was absolutely freezing felt sorry for the staff. Definitely couldn't take coat off .
L. S.
Had a wonderful experience at Leeds playhouse. The venue is lovely and modern - very clean, nice staff, good food and drinks options.
The only complaint I have is the lack of leg space in the seats. It is not really possible to get out of your seat during the show - not good for anyone who suffers from claustrophobia or anxiety
C. C.
Went to see a nice music here. Was a lovely venue in the center of Leeds.
S. D.
Absolutely amazing evening. Staff were so friendly and the newly designed layout/cafe areas are well thought out and readily accessible. Plenty of eager friendly staff on hand to help with disabilities too.
T. H.
Watched Nine nights… A hilarious play portraying the dynamics of a Jamaican family after the death of their mother/grandmother.. A must see! An extremely well organised theatre with friendly and helpful staff. A great evening..
S. H.
Went to see Stickman with my four year old. I was worried about the seats but we had a great view. I'm not sure there's any bad seats. Lovely performance!
M. T. p.
great venue compact and great view from all seats
S. C.
Super family fun at “Stickman” the kids and adults loved it….🤩👌🏻
V. D. (.
Absolutely amazing experience here, the staff are all brilliant - so friendly. Great cafe / bar and not over priced. Stunning shows.
A. A.
I haven't been the playhouse in years but it was so clean and fresh, the cafe downstairs was amazing, the little play area was a nice surprise and very much needed. The staff were super helpful too.
J. A. W.
Had a wonderful time at Leeds playhouse when we went to see Charlie and the chocolate factory, great theatre, and had a good view of the stage even though we sat fairly well back.olso had a good meal before the show in the restaurant.
P. B.
Went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, very good performance by all those on stage, a wonderful stage version of the film. Only downside was it doesn't say what time the doors open.
A. L.
Thank you to the person in the 'Ask me' shirt. 26 Nov. Helping us out with our 96 year old on row R, just being there from start to end. Didn't get your name but thank you. A proper hero.
D. M. (.
Fantastic show lovely place, but I'd reccomend more staff on during intervals, other than that a brilliant experience, we would definately go again.
J. B.
It was a great performance but I ordered Squashies Drumsticks and got bubblegum when I could clearly see the sweets there and it’s was overpriced £3 for a bag of sweets I could go to Aldi and get it for £1 and the water overpriced but other than that the show was great.
D. c.
Went with family last night to see Charlie and the chocolate factory , and what a fantastic performance from all involved also a big thanks to all the very pleasant staff , well done Leeds Playhouse
B. K.
Wonderful venue but production was continuously disturbed by crying babies and a toddlers continually talking to parents and people looking at their mobile phones during the performance- I have emailed the venue and suggested they revue their policies with regard babies and toddlers and the use of mobile phones
K. C.
Enjoyed a little bite and sink at the bat before a great show. Seating is great and perfect views from any angle.
D. W.
Great atmosphere, brilliant attentive staff, and fabulous show. If you want a Christmas treat beg steal or borrow a golden one xX Charlie & the Chocolate Factory 🏭 Shamazing xX 😘
R. S.
Charlie and the Chocolate factory was excellent.
The theater is modern, comfortable and there is not a bad seat in the house.
g. s.
Went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory great show, cast and all staff. Beeb a few times and always been a great show
v. k.
Voted most friendly theatre in the UK and for good reason. Lovely space with lovely people!
N. J.
I was surprised by how modern it was inside. We sat up high and the view was really good. We'll definitely go back.
C. B.
Watched Macbeth,was entertaining &fun.
Staff were helpful and pleasant.
Venue was well designed, no seats are too far away.
Enjoy.
J. H.
Went to see Charlie and chocolate factory really enjoyed performance. Food was good in the cafe on ground floor
A. S.
Took the kids, amazing experience. Great set up, easy access from JL carpark. We have now booked more plays. Highly recommended
M. C.
The acting was brilliant and great. The new playhouse entrance. You enter via a sliding patio glass door and walk through the coffee shop. Then up steps into a crowded corridor going pass the theatre entrance to get to the toilets and you then have to double back against the flow of people to get to the theatre entrance. Not very well planned.
P. S.
Great cafe with interesting menu, lots of vegetarian options and a nice minute steak. Nice choice of beers, including alcohol free craft beers. Great seating height so you can see over the people in front, although its not cinema deluxe. Brilliant performances made better by innovative stage design and multiple entrances from within the searing area.
Macbeth was innovative and inclusive with signing and audio descriptions from with the performance rather than as something going in at the side.
The break time queues for drinks and ice cream moved relatively quickly.
B. A.
Fantastic venue! Well worth a visit. Great range of shows.
S. D.
Had a lovely meal and Charlie and the Chocolate factory was a fabulous show. Amilio (Charlie was amazing)
S. S. A.
A fantastic place to see excellent theatre productions & to eat. Great atmosphere & very friendly, helpful staff.
A. G.
Absolutely beautiful production (Wendy & Peterpan! If you want a cheaper ticket, I recommend sitting very close to the front in this theatre (e.g. CC). 100% worth the time and money.
M. L.
First visit since the refurbishment. Corridors make it very claustrophobic and lack of carpeting on floors make it cold and uninviting when compared to the original layout.
L. S.
Been to see Wendy and Peter Pan tonight with a 9 year old. It was absolutely amazing we had a fantastic time we’ll worth the money I would recommend to everyone of all ages laughing crying and a few jumps cast were fantastic and the special effects were fabulous
D.
Great playhouse, could do with some improvements to toilets as there was a large queue that took the entire interval to get through.
A. H.
Very good performance, staff were friendly and Charlie and the chocolate factory was very good.
J. G.
Young childrens show, Midnight Garden Live was amazing, all the kids loved it and were exceptionally good as they were all excited seeing the live characters and puppets there.
Shame there is so much development around so the Car Park was closed, nearest is Lewiss multi storey.
S. D.
Had an amazing time with my daughter. We went to see The Christmas Carol which was fantastic. Hats off to the Playhouse even amongst the renovations.; They lived up to the time renowned saying that "The Show Must Go On" The Actors were phenomenal!!!❤
D. B.
Charlie and the chocolate factory was a fabulous production we all enjoyed it a great night out.
d. g.
I met some friends here on the 2nd floor for lunch, very nice 👌 Going here again soon to see a play in the afternoon and I will definitely have lunch there again 😊 A special thank you to Oscar who was extremely helpful when I visited again a couple of weeks later with a group of friends 👍
L. W.
Really love this theatre, you always have a great view of the stages from any seats in the house
R. R. (.
Designed by the Appleton Partnership and opened in 1990, the building contained two theatre spaces, amazing place
z. M.
Watched 'Kes' was fantastic brilliant venue very intimate so every seat will have a good view. Staff friendly and helpful. Drinks reasonable (only just).
S. A.
Ots where dream's are made. The playhouse not only supports huge productions but smaller budget productions supporting new projects and new talent.
C. R. H.
Great producing theatre. The recent refurb and expansion is gorgeous and helps make the space into a fantastic social hub. Pop in for a coffee and feel at home before catching some new theatre of a Saturday afternoon. A treat.
J.
Love coffee shop downstairs and accommodating staff. The theatre is on the smaller size but it no way detracts from the performance, if anything it makes the show more intimate and personal. A great venue to see any show in.
J. S.
We saw in the night garden and my daughter loved it. We was going to eat food in the restaurant but it did not look very good and the choice was not brilliant either.
G. M.
Awesome theatre with great shows, great visuals, and always an amazing cast!
C. H.
Fabulous venue.
It has a round 360 stage which gives it a different feel and also means there's not really a bad seat in the house.
The bar is well stocked and you are also given real glasses. The price is higher than a standard pub bit that's to be expected.
The toilets are on the lower level and are a bit of a trek away. I would recommend going before you find your seats of you need to.
Lots of room once seated with a great atmosphere.
M. L.
We shared our Playhouse with West Yorkshire for a long time but now we have refurbished and rebranded it to our own Leeds Playhouse and rightfully so. It is beautiful, welcoming and continues to provide a variety of entertainment and events for all the communities of Leeds. Congratulations to all those involved in showcasing Leeds via the activities supported at our Playhouse.
C. J.
Fab venue, really lovely friendly staff (or volunteers? Not sure but they were so lovely).
Saw The Sh*t which was superb!! More moving than I expected it to be, kudos to the two actors and also everyone else involved in it's creation... Powerful stuff, done SO well!! Catch it while you can!
R. C.
Around the world in 80 days, performed at the Leeds Playhouse pop up theatre, was brilliant. The theatre was small with good sound, great atmosphere and amazing actors.
L. W.
Great modern theatre. Staff very friendly and helpful.
H. R.
A great place to enjoy with family, especially in the Christmas season!
S. S.
A fantastic theatre experience, that has lovely friendly staff.
K. R.
Went to watch Nine Nights brilliant funny show loved it me and my daughter went great show 😁🤣💯😂👍
R. D.
Good theatre and good staff. Seats raked well apart from first couple of rows.
M. M.
Great new building. Fantastic performance space. Acoustically good. Some facilities closed though because of staff shortages
M. C.
First time at Leeds Play House..had a great time
S.
Brilliant performance from Northern ballet. Usual high standards at Playhouse, highly recommend visit
J. W.
Was supposed to go yesterday so see Peter Pan but unfortunately the show was cancelled due to covid so obviously I haven't actually been. However, the lady on the phone was very polite and professional. If you receive a call to say your show was cancelled, please be understanding, as they are only doing their jobs and trying to keep everybody safe and we are very fortunate we still have theatres to welcome us.
S. H.
Had a good time watching Wendy with my daughter. Fun and heartwarming story with a beautiful set. Great tiered seats where every seat would have a good view. Quick service at the concessions, clean, and started on time. Wish there was more strictness on phone usage during the play.
S. C.
Went to see Charlie and the chocolate factory, awesome show, but hugely overpriced food.
J. D.
Went to see Wendy and Peter last Friday with my daughter and grandson. What a magical and sometimes moving pantomime. We absolutely loved the performances they were all fantastic. The pirate ship was fabulous. Really impressed best panto I've seen for years. Highly recommend
B. A.
Always love it here, great venue.
P. H.
C.S.Lewis' The Lion,The Witch and The Wardrobe was given a charming, quirky and imaginative treatment tonight. Some lovely contemporizing additions took this 1950s classic based during the 2nd World War nicely into the 21st century. But be aware the West Yorkshire Playhouse is suffering the prolonged affects of arts funding cuts by ticket pricing which makes the most sought after tickets the most expensive .Ticket prices generally looked very high with few concessions. On the postive side, I was delighted to see a decent well kept hand pulled bitter on the bar. Overall, a very good evening's entertainment. Recommended as long as you can afford it.
m. m.
Very nice modern theatre. Parking available close by
J. M.
Great visit to see Macbeth. Really always enjoy production's at the playhouse. Really friendly young man behind the bar on this occasion, sorry didn't ask his name
But fantastic well done. Spoiled a bit by school trips and teenagers unable to behave.
C. A.
Visited recently to watch the play Maggie May,...
Which was totally awesome, fabulous performances and a heart warming script of a difficult subject we could all face ...
Venue is fantastic and hoping it won't be too long before I'm back
C. O.
Looking fabulous. It's been a while since I last went to the Playhouse but it's such a great venue. Plus for the city centre the bar is reasonable.
J. B.
Saw Much Ado. Brilliant production by Sheffield Theatres and the fabulous Ramps on the Moon.
E. R.
Great place very helpful with hearing impairment device
R. M.
Great local theatre. I don't go as often as I should. Worth the trip.
J. B.
There are 2 theatres at this location. The main theatre sea ts about 750 in an amphitheatre style. The Courtyard theatre can be configured for different seating arrangements but typically seats about 300. They are both great theatre spaces and the play house typically has a very varied season of presentations with something to suit everyone. There is a good bar which sometimes has live music.
2022 update. The refurbishment includes a revamp of eating options, which I have not yet tried, but the area certainly look a lot more attractive. The updating inside the theatre splits the seating into more and smaller areas, making it easier to find your seat. There is a third small performance area as well, the Void. The programmes I have seen continue to be as good as seeing anything in London, but at more reasonable prices.
C.
Fabulous productions and great shows. The theatre renovations have given a breath of fresh air. Though it was a missed opportunity to not add extra leg space to the seating rows. Unfortunately if you are over 5ft 8” you will most likely experience an uncomfortable experience. It’s regrettable that if audience comfort had been prioritised over profit it would of made the whole experience much more pleasant.
R. M.
Lovley place comfortable and clean and equiped well. And acvomodsting
J. R.
Just seen Orpheus in the Record Shop. Absolutely fantastic piece of theatre
J. C. T.
Great evening in a great space, with good facilities. The Quarry theatre is huge, on the scale of Stratford or the National Theatre. Beware you don't visit too far to the right tho. You can't see all the stage.
G. B.
First time back since reopening to see Macbeth. Great venue, with friendly staff. My only suggestion: some recycling bins for cans that are sold at the bar; had to take mine home with me to recycle them.
C. B. (.
What an brillent place, hreat for familys or couples to watch anazing plays
P. A.
Pop Up Theatre showing while the West Yorkshire Playhouse is being remodeled.
A fabulous little theatre and if tonight's play (The Road) is anything to go by, brilliant staging and performance.
P. T.
Was always a great venue but after the rebrand and refurb its even better... perfect for medium size shows where you want a bit of a crowd atmosphere mixed with the cosy intimacy of being up close and personal with the performers
S. A.
A wonderful and very beautiful place. I attended a musical theater show that was more than wonderful. It takes into account the breaks when sitting, sterilization and organization in terms of receiving spectators and bringing them to the theater to sit, as there is enough and all the drinks you want
C. M.
Fantastic venue, great staff, wonderful accessibility
P. B.
Saw the wonderful A Christmas Carol just now. Great cast, brilliant performances and friendly staff. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
J. W.
Today I went to see 'I Wanna Be Yours', a play about an inter racial relationship, very well acted and a story well told. We all know a couple like these two and the way families and friends react to them
N. W.
We decided to go to see The Lion the witch and the Wardrobe here .
What an amazing show and venue.
Our party loved our visit and have booked again.
B. G.
We had a good afternoon, the theatre was very good everybody had a good view of the stage
S. S.
Everything went smoothly for our first time back to Leeds Playhouse with Covid rules in place. Very helpful friendly staff in the cafe and throughout the theatre. Toilets were immaculate. At no time did we feel worried or vulnerable with all measures in place. Great to have lots of space around us when seated. It was so exciting to be back again. Thankyou Leeds Playhouse. See you again soon
T. B.
Superb venue. Broad range of shows. Great staff both front of house and technical. One of the country's best performance spaces.
J. W.
Was great .really enjoyed it affects were amazing
P.
The Gruffalo was great and made the most of the Playhouse setting. A tad too warm and silly queues for refreshment but otherwise a lovely afternoon.
R. P.
Great view, great sound and a great show as always. But the seating is a little uncomfy. After an hour you'll be glad for the intermission!
I. S.
Very welcoming place, staff very friendly. Watched Wendy and Peter Pan, fantastic production, thoroughly enjoyed by all our family. Lovely night out.
L. L.
Great views clean and friendly excellent disabled parking nearby
M. A.
Went to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which was amazing
A. S.
Newly refurbished it was our first visit and was coloured by the excellent, hilarious production of Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of). Very comfortable seating in the Courtyard theatre, plenty of helpful staff -or volunteers? Lots of toilets- what a change and much appreciated. Very impressive. Easy to get out when all leaving at once. A super afternoon.
A. G.
Amazing place, the production of Wendy and Peter was fantastic!!
A. B.
Lovely place for a night out and if you are into the arts and such
G. C.
Always made to feel very welcome at Playhouse..all staff take time with you.....production of Macbeth one of the best I've seen...
G. S.
First visit since lockdown. Excellent. Very helpful greeting Team to guide audience through necessary guideline regulations. All socially distanced, felt very comfortable. Wonderful performance.
Only grumble is parking, or lack of it due to horrendous roadworks. Would advise heading straight for one of the two multi-story car parks nearby to save time and stress!
C. S.
Absolutely outstanding performance by the whole cast. We've been coming here on Boxing Day for quite a number of years now. Each time is amazing. The new theatre is lovely. The acoustics ___perfection. No matter where you sit your view will be spot on. Every member of the cast performed well. The puppeteer who controls Toto was brilliant. Her back must have been breaking as she was bent over a lot of the time. Fun for the whole family. Loved it____can't wait for xmas2020 show.
J. L. G.
Great staff, friendly, helpful. Loved the show and the diversity it promoted. Cannot wait to see more of the same again soon.
L. T.
Great night at Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Davina DiCampo demonstrated an array of acting and musical talents. Well worth the journey from Edinburgh.
K. P.
Very friendly and welcoming helpful staff. The party Maggie May was brilliant. Really enjoyed my evening.
S. M.
Nice place and quiet if u needed some jobs to do. Price ok
T.
Lovely building, beautiful inside, nice cafe too.
D. B.
Great theatre, great staff and facilities with several places to eat and drink within.
C. S.
Wonderful production! Amazing cast and set. Thank you for giving us so much pleasure whilst portraying bereavement in such a beautiful way
s. p.
Wonderful experience, good on stage special effects and acting, brilliant for kids and grown ups alike. The seating is fairly comfy but less leg room than a six-foot man would appreciate, with brilliant views of the stage.
P. C.
Building's new looks are quite disappointing to be honest. Looks like a huge sports centre with a lot of dead space, fake vegetation and strange selection of light colours. The change though is welcome since it includes accessibility points for people with special abilities and toilets cover all genders. The theater stage retain their character and the plays are spectacular. I always enjoy going back!!
A. S.
Good, secure and safe car parking close by. Easy access to a compact venue, well designed with excellent views of the stage. Only suggestion is to improve acoustics, (perhaps better reception if I'd worn my ear pieces). Great night out.
C. W.
Saw the wizard of oz here it was brilliant. I've always loved the way the stage is set out at the play house as it means whichever seat you buy you will be able to see. I actually don't think too much about the new revamping of the lobby area as it closes it off a lot and is a bit hard to find your way around and it taken away a lot of its personality it had before. However I did like that they've added another bar as it makes it nicer in the interval and not as much of a rush and the addition if more toilets around the place is good since there always used to be a lot of queues for the women's toilets.
S. M.
We went to see The Wizard of Oz. It was an amazing performance of a much loved film. The playhouse itself is easy to get to. Its across the road from John Lewis car park and the bus station. They serve decent food at a reasonable price in the restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. The facilities were easily accessible and catered for those with disabilities. Only downside as with most theatres there's very little leg room.
D. A.
The Christmas Carol was great. The Xmas shows never fail to impress with amazing small casts and even smaller facilities this year whilst the main theatre is being renovated. A little cold in there on such a frosty day outside, but we still loved it. Can't wait for next year.
K. B.
Visited to see "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" and can honestly say it was the most joyous experience I've had at a theatre.
The location itself is fantastic, well layed out and easy to get to from central Leeds.
The play was utterly delightful, some amazing physical feats from the cast using ropes and silks to perform off of the ground. Beautiful musical numbers sung perfectly and just generally well crafted performances from the entire cast who are clearly very dedicated and passionate about the show.
I look forward to seeing more plays at this venue and hopefully to seeing more performances from the wonderfully talented cast members.
M. S.
Lovely theatre with two different auditoriums. Easy to reach and with parking nearby
A. L.
Wonderful bright new innovative venue. Eclectic programme to encourage people to visit. Support it!
j. c.
I knew the playhouse had been renovated. I can't remember what it was like before but I must say I did like the auditorium. The seats were comfortable, the legroom excellent. Coming from the drop off point in playhouse sq you enter by lift going straight down, so you miss the front of house. Greeting staff were pleasant. An icecream seller coming in at the interval would have been good as we had no idea where to go for refreshments. Really enjoyed the play though.
F. S. M.
Great seats to a great performance of Wizard of Oz. Great acting. Great set design and lovely staff. Never been b4. Easy to park in the John Lewis Victoria car park opposite.
The puppetry for toto was the best bit! The girl who did that was amazing. Couldn't take my eyes off it.
G. T.
Quarry theatre has excellent view of the stage wherever you are sat and will not have obstructed view from the row in front. Comfortable seats with reasonable leg room. Usual facilites of a good standard with excellent coffee available
A. E.
Quarry 1 a bit hidden , thought we going to other theatre
C. O.
We love this amazing venue. Have always seen excellent plays with fascinating takes on old favorites (in our case) and very high production values. This Christmas's production of 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' was visually stunning and featured a strong multi-talented cast.
A. G.
Always great to go there. This House is an excellent play. Seats on the stage were fun.
B. G.
Brilliant production of A Christmas Carol. This was my third visit to the pop up theatre / Leeds Playhouse and I was delighted to be there. The cast are wonderful, staff welcoming and the use of this space during development of the Playhouse is perfect. Highly recommended.
S. H.
The refurbished playhouse is clean with plenty of toilets. Decor is sterile too. 70's retro?
The first 4 rows of The Courtyard 2 are untiered so we were back to watching the show between the heads of people in front of us. 70's retro? Staff are very nice.
J. A.
Love live plays.. BUT.. Hate the interior decor redesign or lack of it. Bare bare cold void.. The antithesisof a warm shared convivial experience..How did you get it so wrong. Not a hint of it being in Leeds inside. Could be anywhere. Wheres the colour.. the art.. the local.. the daring .. . Oh like the outside of the theatre and playhouse lettering. I will come again.. . Natch..
I. a. b.
Went to see 'A Christmas Carol' with my mother and best friend, and I must say, all the actors were fantastic! The story sticked to the original storyline so incredibly well, and the actors, for young to old, were fantastically brilliant! The dancing, singing, settings, special effects, everything was superbly spectacular!
L. M.
We brought our 6 and 2 year old daughter's here to watch The Scarecrows Wedding.
We were sat on the back rows and had a perfect view of the stage area. Booster seats were provided for the kids which was great too. Overall very happy with the venue and it's staff.
K.
Went to see Lost In The Woods. Wow, it was incredible.
Easy to get to with parking close by. The Playhouse is a nice venue selling reasonably priced, basic food and drinks. There is a bar but we didn't buy there.
Layout of the theatre we were in was excellent. Seats offer an excellent view and I imagine only the very side seating comes with a restricted view which is reflected in the pricing.
Will certainly be going again
G. H.
Used the cafe. Nice place friendly staff.
K.
Such a fantastic theatre. I love to take my daughter to the children's theatre shows. We can't wait to get back there, We're missing it so much.
R. H.
We are part way into a fabulous season with great shows in all three houses! The decor in the corridors is a bit stark but the contents of the theatres are the best we've ever had. Go on! Try it!
N. C.
The staff are exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful which is rare in these days of undermanning. The playhouse itself is faultless, all views are good, comfy seating and a spotlessly clean environment. Will definitely visit again.*****
j. n.
Playhouse seats are too cramped 2gether felt like I was on a Ryanair flight. Only gave 5 stars as Jitney what I went to see was absolutely excellent. 💯
H. S.
Went to see a local theatre company performance. The show Ugly Sisters was fab. The theatre was well organised with very good Covid spacing. Felt very safe.
S. P.
Lovely theatre and helpful staff
C. C.
Easy access and parking over the road I'm John Lewis.
Helpful staff and a nice friendly environment.
V. C.
Another great performance, Say Yes to Tess. But please do get the parking sorted out à
M. d.
Great modern theatre with good views all round. Friendly staff, good selection of drinks and snacks that won't break the bank and for the penny pinching the is free chilled water available from a dispenser near the bar. Good location next to bus station and good car parking options.
C. M.
The 🦁 the witch and the wardrobe was theatre at its very best. First performance in Leeds but should be taken to a much wider audience. Really magical. The playhouse has super friendly staff who genuinely seem to like their work and want to help I love this little theatre . But please city developers STOP enclosing this super theatre in a massive if souless buildings. .
D. F.
Great theatre with a warm atmosphere
R.
Perfect location to watch Iggle Piggle and co
D. A.
The revamped Leeds Playhouse is excellent. Well remodelled, whilst staying true to the original values of ensuring the audience experience and potential interaction & immersion in the play. There are no seats in the auditorium that you would avoid, all providing great views of the stage. It is not a cheap evening out though, sadly, and this will restrict how often I will be going.
L. C.
A magnificent and more affordable theatre, suitable for families and outings with friends. I love the plays (especially The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe) and have seen many. Nowhere else really competes with the Playhouse.
d. a.
Nice modern theatre with some excellent contemporary shows. Plenty of parking spaces although parking will cost you about a £4 to £6.
Nice bar to relax in before and after shows. Drinks can be taken into the shows (in plastic cups)

Refurbishment disapointing, bland, cheap looking, like a dated canteen. The food on other was terrible, burnt looking chicken, yellow broccoli and something with fish which made the whole area stink. The sandwiches were no better, great big doorsteps with no thing about them to tempt the customer, we went hungry instead.
However the courtyard theatre is still very good and the production excellent.
C. R.
Excellent... only fault food a bit expensive
B. G.
Excellent raked seating, our view was awesome and it looked like it would have been wherever I sat
p. r.
Saw Dracula the untold story, work of genius really good night out at the theatre.
Well organised, pleasant staff excellent facilities 👍
O. S.
Currently under renovation I think and they are doing a great job with the pop up theatre. Only downside is that it was quite cold and the toilets are outside posh porta-loos. Looking forward to seeing what they have done with the place when it reopens.
M. A.
The new Leeds Playhouse is light and airy, good seating arrangements in the auditorium .
There is a cafe but I didn't use this facility.
Plenty of toilets clean .
Live the place and already booked for another show soon.
T. V.
Would have given it 5 stars, but you can't see the live band. They are hidden away. Nearly all top theatres have the live band at the front below the stage but not here. We all thought the music was coming through the PA from a recording.
W. P.
The Night before Christmas, in the Courtyard theatre at Leeds Playhouse, was good fun. My four year old granddaughter loved it. The theatre has had a good upgrade and is easy to attend as it is opposite the bus station.
S. S.
It was very alive place and i hope have show there
R. B.
We went to see Windrush - Movement of the people, put on by Phoenix Dance Theatre. There were some lovely shorter dances in the first half of the evening, finishing with Windrush in the second half. We love this theatre, and access can be made either by stairway, or a series of slopes for wheelchair access. The bar/restaurant areas are good, and there's a lovely atmosphere which added to our enjoyment of the evening. We look forward to going back for another production soon. Thanks to all of the staff for their hard work.
M. A.
Brilliant atmosphere and great friendly and polite staff. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good.
C. D.
Great modern theatre.
R. K.
awesome place to meet up with friends and watch some quality theatre. There will be developments going on here very soon as it looks a little tired. There will also be the introduction of another small venue underneath the foyer as there is a large crawl space underneath begging to be used.
P. B.
Went to see "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" . An amazing show. Five stars for the show. Would have been five stars for the theatre too, but no concessions on kids tickets for what is a family show seems a bit tight IMHO.
H. C.
This theatre has been here a long time. Many of the productions use sophisticated lighting and scenery. There are two theatres inside. The smaller one usually has productions for children around Christmas time and the main theatre usually stages a musical.
J. R.
There isn't enough leg room in the quarry theatre. I am 5' 7" and I struggled. I really don't know how taller people will manage.
C. H.
Great venue,
Long queues for the bars, I was hungry, could only buy junk food, cafe was open not enough staff
L. F.
Fabbo, went to see Penguins with the children. It was a showing of 55 minutes perfect for small ones. Only downside is there was no reserved seating and therefore my little two couldn't see too clearly without sitting up on my knee, which then made it uncomfortable for me. It would be better if they allowed children to sit at the front or maybe allows you to book reserved seats. All I all though, kids loved it as did mum and dad and a cost effective way to introduce children to the arts (without a screen).
J. T.
Due to circumstances beyond our control we arrived 3 mins late! After been told we were lucky to be let in to see the play we were ushered to seats which we had not booked with very bad views ! The short lady who showed us to our seats was extremely rude! Play was absolutely brilliant though which made up for the bad experience!!!
C. R.
The Playhouse is brilliant. Meticulous Covid- world planning has allowed them to open up once again. Northern Ballet's production of Dangerous Liaisons tonight was amazing.
D. P.
The staff are what makes this place. It's a bit of a maze and a warren, but the staff make everything possible, including wheelchair access. Excellent Changing Places disabled toilet - astonishing it is. Food also very good, not carbon copy and very fresh, and the auditoria are all one could wish for.
J. S.
First visit to the Leeds Playhouse. Definitely visit again soon. Staff friendly and helpful..
r. m.
The lion, the witch and the wardrobe is one of the most incredible shows I have been to. The car parking was particularly stressful as the machine would not take a card payment and the cafe inside the theatre could do with a better range of hot food.
D. H.
Wonderful theatre. Almost completed a serious refurbishent and revamp but have continued to stage jaw droppingly good plays and shows on a 'pop-up' auditorium beneath the Playhouse proper.
R. W.
They do some great plays for kids and the ticket prices aren't too prohibitive. they're currently in the middle of a refurb, so the main theatre isn't at its optimum size, so be aware of that when choosing tickets.
R. S.
Went to see the lion the witch and the wardrobe. I'm not really a big theatre goer, but it was a cleverly choreographed show and the kids loved it. It was quite long at 2 hours 20 minutes but very enjoyable
h.
Sensational place, beautiful people. Peter pan was incredible.
Never seen anything like it and left full of life and magic.
Thank you ❤️
S. D.
Have seen many great productions here.
A. D.
Although this is only a temporary pop-up theatre its still very good & the seating is comfortable. There is also a small bar selling snacks & drinks with seating area. Not bad for a temporary venue!.
T. B.
We went to see Peter and Wendy. An incredible show. Far better than we expected and we expected it to be great.
D. f. d.
a really nice theater complex playing host to some of Britain’s great actors and actresses. The coffee shops are a great meeting place even if you do not want to go to the theater
M.
A great theater. The building looks lovely after the refurbishment. Seen many shows here and they have all been amazing and all have bee very professional
C. R.
Went to see The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Great venue. Stage in centre of auditorium, so can be seen well from any seat. Excellent production. Great for kids and adults.
j. s.
I like the outside of the new playhouse. Looking forward to visiting the completely new theater which I will be doing later this year. I like the fact that they put on plays on a range of topics and not just wall to wall musicals.
J. G.
Went to see Oliver last night. Had no idea about the production as it was a surprise present. Would go and see another production of this company. Criticism would be not enough subtitles. Frustrating trying to understand what was being conveyed in a few parts , mainly Bill. All other parts played seemed to have more visual expression or subtitles to help the story flow. Came away feeling there were blanks that needed filling in. Good effort if thats the word.
J. M.
Wendy and Peter Pan was a fantastic production suitable for all the family, great acting, sets and atmosphere 👏
A. O.
Fabulous musical Hedwig.
Beautiful meal in the playhouse restaurant, staff lovely
XX
D. J.
Great show great venue, all the better since refurbished
J. H.
Great venue, really good service.
Pre booking drinks for interval was a good move as you don't get long for a 2 parter

I have just returned from watching a Friday evening performance of 'White Christmas'. It is the most Spectacular show my family and I have seen for a long long time ( and we do go to the theatre regularly). The cast were outstanding in singing, dancing and all round showmanship. It's been a tough year my dad has been seriously ill and there were times I didn't think we would see another Christmas together but thankfully he is still here and recovering well. To see and hear him singing along has absolutely made my Christmas. The standard of everyone's performance was unbeatable. Thank you.
c.
Absolutely AMAZING! I haven't been since before covid until yesterday and it was lovely. Not only did I enjoy what I watched but I felt very safe in terms of covid precautions
H. K.
What an amazing place, it's stunning since it's been updated. The seats are very comfortable with plenty of leg room & you can still see the stage even with a tall person sat in front of you.
N.
Went to see I wanna be yours . Beautifully written and brilliantly executed. Would definitely recommend.
d. w.
Took our 4 year old granddaughter to see 'Crumbles search for Christmas ' , this evening . What a lovely experience- she was completely captivated. The performance lasted for an hour and, in my opinion, was pitched perfectly for 4- 7 year olds. Would highly recommend it.
S. H.
Refurbishment has created lots more space and nice places to gather before the shows
J. B.
Brilliant performance of Wendy and Peter. Lovely theatre and very helpful staff.
L. C. (. P.
Went to see Teletubbies with my 2 year old. Got in no problem, no queues or pushing n shoving. All views are unrestricted. Seats were comfortable.Only thing I was disappointed with was that no photography was allowed so couldn't film my 2 year olds first visit to the theatre which are lost memories.
J. P.
I thought the wizard of Oz was great and the actors did an amazing job considering they were performing Infront of people and had too act very cartoony and goofy which can be difficult to do on stage. Much culture is produced here 🎺🎶😉
B. T.
Pop up theatre. Limited drinks at bar although beers, wines and spirits available. Temporary toilets clean and we'll maintained. Situated behind the theatre building. Well signposted.
L. A.
Went to see Peter Pan and Wendy tonight. What a brilliant performance, excellent show and well put on 5🌟
G. D.
Such a great theatre and really easy to take my 5yr old to. Great food before the show and staff were all really helpful and caring. Would recommend a visit to anyone!
P. T.
If you live in Leeds and are into the arts you need to be involved with thus place. Whether from an audience, an artist or just a curious onlooker they have something for everyone. Check it out. They are warm friendly approachable and their hearts are in the right places right up to artistic/executive director level. Get stuck in people. Make your life better. Can't wait to see the new building when it opens. Be proud Leeds, this is a proper gem!
M.
Nice space for watching performances.
S. L.
Visiting the Playhouse has left a great impression in my mind. Although I was only there for a school visit, it was exceptionally fun and an excellent experience. I believe that this is truly an outstanding place to take classrooms to visit and I fully reccomend it ^^
P. J.
Fantastic refurbishment. A true community theatre and space. You can go in just to relax and rest, no need to buy anything from the cafe. Great programme of theatre.
P. B.
Always loved Leeds Playhouse. Top notch shows. Unfortunately they have just put a rather dated new entrance into the front. It looks very seventies with its cheap plastic tiles, not impressed at all...................
D. A.
Very good facilities and staff.
M. C.
Excellent performance and even though the main play house was closed due to refurbishment, the show was hosted in the pop up theatre making it feel very intimate due to the stage and seating arrangement.
J. H.
Really nice theatre after refurbishment, big and spacious with nice large bar area.
L. A.
Went to see Wendy and Peter it was amazing. Another great performance at a great venue
S. G.
Nice modern theatre with very friendly staff. Saw a production in The Quarry theatre which was a little spoilt by not being able to hear the actors some of the time. Audience was noisy too with a number constantly looking at/for messages on their silenced mobiles.
c. g.
1st time lve been and l was impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the food was reasonably priced, the only thing that let's it down is the lack of parking and what bit of parking space there is really does need sorting the row of disabled parking spaces that l needed to park in, was all blocked in by the next row of cars , if l had needed to get out in an emergency l would have been stuck, a call out in the theatre to the owners of the cars blocking me in would have had to have been made, not an ideal situation as this would have caused unnecessary problems for all concerned .
J. L.
Great auditorium. Restaurant OK.
H.
Excellent performance of Oliver. Thoroughly enjoyed the powerful story enacted by a very talented cast. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience.
A. E.
Good well designed modern theatre. Bit of a crush o the way out an there was a massive queue for the ladies at the break. Free water on the bar. Overall as good as I could want
Y. T.
Great lively performance...only 10 actors...think they each played about 3 or 4 parts...brilliant. kids were shocked at the prices from the refreshments kiosk hence 4 stars.
E. C.
Went to see Dracula Ballet. All seats had a good view. The sound system was amazing. The bar area was good.
J.
I watched Romeo and Juliet on Friday night. The actors were amazing!!! Play itself was fabulous. Seats were great, not too pricy and not too uncomfortable!
10/10
A. G. U.
Loved the performance of Wendy and Peter. So did my grandchildren. Everything perfect. Xx
P. H.
Wonderful venue since it was spruced up and the Victorian tiles were revealed a few years ago. We go for Opera North. Staging always excellent.
C. S.
Loved seeing the gruffalo with my 2 girls who loved the singing and dancing fantastic
L. H.
Lovely and welcoming space and staff will help you out with anything you need 😀
L. A.
Good performance...not sure the Playhouse is a great improvement on the previous venue...long queues for toilets as fewer than before, yet ( I'm told ) more seats...
D. D.
The lion the witch and the wardrobe shown here was absolutely amazing!-best performance I've seen. The dancing and acting was first class. Strongly recommend!
C. S.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time there watching PETER PAN ...actors were fantastic especially TINK...
A. G.
User friendly building, staff always present to greet you at the entrance and to direct you to the right place. Adequate disabled parking bays.
j.
Amazing shows. So much work put into them all. 10/10 would definitely recommend
It's really worth going
Can be a bit expensive but it's more than worth the money you pay
D. L.
Fantastic performance and pop up theatre during the upgrade. From the girls on the bar to the gentleman welcoming guests. What a great placr.
A.
Went to watch 'The Wizard of Oz' and absolutely loved it. Amazing performances and my kids loved it too. Could not recommend the place more highly as with attentive knowledgeable staff.
W. B.
Love the new look Playhouse. Very sophisticated and I prefer the new entrance. Went to see Wizard of Oz with uni mates. Wonderful.
C. H.
Great space, interesting programming and friendly staff
J. E.
Just watched a performance of Sunshine on Leith and it's the best show I've ever seen, fantastic, so professional, singing, dancing, guitar playing and music was out of this world. What more can I say? Loved it.
R. G.
Kids went with their antie and loved every second off it , amazing staff and very clean through out.
J. L.
Amazing place, food very good prices, staff were wonderful
A. V.
Cultural gem of a place. Wide range of productions, great event space. Reasonable bar with local cask beers. Good cafe / restaurant. Very close to the city centre.
A. C.
Excellent performance by all the cast and as an afterthought Barrie Rutter should be made director of The Globe in York when he leaves Northern Broadsides next year - what do you think?
R. H.
We went with our granddaughter to see the Snow mouse. She was engrossed . We thought it a great entertainment . The play house looks a lovely facility - lucky old Leeds !
A. I. (.
Very nice theatre which puts on excellently produced shows. Not been disappointed yet. Recently saw The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe......excellent ......family entertainment!!
S. L.
Lovely venue, a really nice audience size. Helpful staff too. (The show was very good too 😀)
j. m.
I went to see the production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with 2 other friends on Saturday 30 January, unfortunately one of my friends fell ill while we were in the theatre, and we didn't get to see the full show. My friends and I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff that were there. They were all very helpful and couldn't do enough for my friend that had been taken poorly. A big thank you to Gen who brought the water and rang the ambulance service for us. The lady in question might I had is still in hospital but on the mend. Thanks again for all your help, Mandy Julie and Ginny.
C. R.
Wendy and Peter;Another fantastic night and outstanding performances, absolutely loved it 🥰
K. W.
Tonight I saw yet another amazing production at The West Yorkshire Playhouse-The Boy In The Stripe Pyjamas. They are never afraid to push the boundaries and try something new. I love the diversity.
K.
Great atmosphere. Great show. Great everything! Perfect!
L. D.
Great new feel and look.
T. L.
We had a great time here, the place is really good and the staff were fabulous throughout, good sized theatres and excellent facilities.
T. H.
A good theatre with a varying program of dramas and musicals. The theatre itself is in an ugly early 1990s building in the weird wasteland of Quarry Hill. The Kremlin like Quarry House looms ominously in the background like some mad fantasy of a Stalinist dictator. The bar and restaurant are both extortionately priced (£13.50 for a pie and chips!). Bets smuggle a hip flask and sandwich in with you.
n. p.
Matinee performance of the tin drum...how is it possible to fit it all in? With a lively group of enthusiasts delivering a cabaret that focuses on a pressing contemporary theme (reminding us as they entertain) - of the need for basic humanity and the tolerance of complexity.
L. M.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. lovely staff.. if you looking for a full night of fun and entertainment in Leeds the Playhouse is the number one stop. .
E.
A fantastic range of shows to watch here. The two stages are both great to watch performances on and you can see the stage clearly even from the back.
B. D.
Clean and easily accessible venue with no obstructed view seats. Bar has a good stock of spirits and wine, all with reasonable prices.
c. L.
Love to go it's clean and friendly. We usually take our 10yr old and he loves it. The shows are always of the highest standards spellbinding and magical
R. D.
Sirs,
Utterly, totally, completely, absolutely, overwhelmingly, stunningly, emotionally fantastic. (If you get my drift!) Having seen 'The Kite Runner' last afternoon (Nov 6) I was immediately engrossed, emotionally engaged and completely carried along from the very beginning by the brilliant production values (simple but very effective) acting (completely convincing, cleaver and superb), as well as the lighting and musical accompaniment. To have taken a complicated story line, with its many locations, timings and characters and made a clear and dramatic presentation was brilliant by ALL involved
The best live theatre I have seen for some time.(unlike the 'Stoops to Conquer' production last week which, although a very different period and a comedy, was as normal with 'Broadsides' little more than a shouting match!)
Thank you to all concerned for a thrilling experience, it deserves a national tour, or revived run so many others will have the opportunity to appreciate its brilliance..
Sincerely Robert Donald
R. N.
Great place. Wide variety of shows. Decent food & drink. About to undergo refurbishment in the summer so don't know how that will affect things.
P. T.
Great venue. Brilliant refurb. Sensible prices food and drinks.
C. b.
I love how close you are to the stage. Great prices we have just got membership so even better! The perfect night out. My kids (10, 7) love going too.
C. D.
I have now been to The Playhouse a number of times and the shows are fabulous. My favorite show was Little Voice but they have all been great. Would highly recommend
L. F.
Lovely auditorium, top notch production of A Little Night Music, friendly staff.
T. F.
I went to see The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. The production was magnificent and the cast were amazing. Loved every moment, it had me mesmerised from beginning to end.
L. I.
Saw Pink Mist and was surprised at things that came out that I hadn't really appreciated in war, such as how many ex soldiers end up living on our streets afterwards. It begged the question as to whether we should be sending such young and vulnerable men to war and then the follow up question of how we care for them on their return. Many questions raised. A good starting point for discussion. Although it was set around Bristol, I believe it translated well for people anyway in the country as we have all been touched in some way by the Afghan war. Well done. Loved the energy in the play.
L. B.
Good central venue to enjoy a coffee and chat - plenty of room to find a quiet corner, or a more busy one, if that's your preference. Reasonable prices and decent food too.
B. T.
Friendly staff. Nice, comfortable theatres. Coffee bar only takes cash however there is a cash machine available. Overall great experience. I attend often.
m. c.
Great place - a real treat of a visit. Helpful staff and well organised venue.
C. M.
I love the place for live performances. Strange, almost maniacal attention to preventing photos (before the performance has started) - even if you are just taking pictures of the family in their seats.
S. P.
Went to see Strictly Ballroom here and aside from the show being fabulous the team here are really helpful and polite, the venue is still looking ok and you can get a decent cup of tea / coffee while you wait to get in without getting fleeced!
S. E.
Watched Wizard of oz it was brilliant I would recommend anyone to come watch each actor and actress played thier part fantastic enjoyed the show throughout amazing well done to everyone
I. B.
Lovely venue, great performance (A little night music). Safe
J. M.
Seen so many brilliant productions here and the latest, Sunshine on Leigh, was no exception. Wonderful performance with full standing ovation at the end.
T. E.
Is a good theatre with a varied programme. However, on this occasion I only went in for a coffee with a friend in their new cafe, opened following the recent extension.
K. L.
Loving the WYPlayhouse. Ode to Leeds absolutely brilliant. Never afraid to stage innovative & challenging productions. Impressed at how much they do to promote access for all communities. Leading light.
J. C.
Lovely venue with friendly staff !
B. K.
Great theatre, good plays, very disability friendly which is impressive. Parking less convenient than it used to be.
R. S.
Wow... saw Wizard of Oz it was great and the stage was clear to see. Facilities clean and a lovely environment to sit in during the interval.
T. S.
They don't have booster seats anymore and it is really necessary in some stages. Don't forget to bring your own booster seat if your kid needs it. (~ <130cm)
R. F.
Amazing facilities and a perfect venue
S.
Very nice but undergoing maintenance at the moment so had to sit in a ‘pop up theatre’. However staff are very friendly and welcoming.
S. M.
Lovely building, great staff.
Got a bit lost trying to find it, is opposite the bus station.
G. B.
We went to see Ruby Wax and her show Frazzled. Very good how she has learnt to make money out of mental illness but also very good at bringing it to the forefront of modern living, and how to cope with it, especially if you are one of the 1 in 4 who suffer from it.
S. W.
New refurb is excellent. Clean, tidy, and accessible. Ticket prices depend on the show, and not the venue.
R. C.
Always been a lovely theatre and has only gotten better over the years. I wish I took more time to come here!
M.
I just went to visit their café and shop but their performance list there is great, and I would like to go back! The food was lovely from the café and gives you a nice, wide indoor space to eat and drink within.
H. B.
A nice venue and good staff but the facilities provided for a work conference weren't quite adequate - there was too much noise coming from the cafe to the side of our area which impacted the presentations
K. B.
We went to see a christmas carol, its the only thing that's made us feel christmassy this year so far!!! What a brilliant performance! Recommend to anyone looking to go!
S. D.
Brilliant show.. staff all helpful happy and supportive
N. M.
Great theatre feel
N. L.
Really friendly staff and nice relaxing atmosphere would definitely come back again
M. M.
An must see spot for the latest performances, as well as old classics. There are so many varied forms of entertainment to suit everybody, from the hardest to please children up to the grouchiest OAP. Something for everybody.
N. M.
My family and I go see plays here every year. Love the facilities and the staff are really helpful. Great plays and musicals.
M. N.
Comfortable and well designed performance areas. Decent seating and competitive prices for food and drink. Even has the odd ale on offer.
M. E. (. E.
Went to the pop up theatre to see Christmas carol and loved it. Got a little lost walking from the car park due to the building work but can't wait to see it when they've finished
J. B.
Went to see the witch and the wardrobe at Leeds playhouse .extremely good performance. Wonderful props used ..only thing was it was cold and had to sit with coat on .
R. H.
Me and my girlfriend took my 3 year old to see pepe pig here was really good and engaging with the kids great seating with optional booster seats overall great visit
E. K.
Visited pop up theatre for the event while rebuilding work carried out. Still great facilities and atmosphere at venue
P. C.
We were sat in seats I 18&19 and we're cold due to the air conditioning blowing on the back of our necks. Any actor or actress at the right hand side of the stage who turned away from the audience were inaudible
A. P.
Amazing Theatre.
I've seen and taken many a show to the WYP while working in Theatre. And now I love to see shows there.
Great staff. Great programme. Great Theatre.
A. G.
A superb modern theatre...no need to go to the West End, lots of cracking productions on our doorstep in Leeds
M. W.
Very enjoyable evening. Lovely venue with very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent wheelchair access.

L. I.
Great experience here. Really enjoyed the play. There was a fair bit of litter outside the venue
S. l.
Very well organised, lovely modern theatre with good sight lines everywhere
K. W.
Great show as ever
C. B.
Lovely venue. Beware of expensive parking costs for matinées. For information it's only £3 after 6 o'clock in the evening.
E. B.
All seats are good seats. Lovely revamped set up, but hard to park at now, which is a shame.
P. C.
Really nice place to visit, for theatre shows, lunch or just to chill out, very easy to find, opposite the main bus station, ample parking right next to the playhouse.
A. S.
WIZARD OF Oz fantastic .But not enough toilets or staff to show you to your seats or collect rubbish at end. Also couldn't find where to get programme .
R. L.
Great performances, but ugly theatre.
C. D.
Pop up theatre badly signposted from the rear car park. However, once inside, the facilities, including toilets, are good.
E. T.
The performance was amazing, showcasing a wide range of skills from puppetering to singing and acting and dancing. Amazing, loved it
H. S.
Friendly, people's theatre. Lovely staff and fantastic shows, always a chance to meet the cast in the bar or get involved in projects.
M. H.
The show was great and my grandkids enjoyed it lots of songs that the kids know great family day out with pippa pig
T.
A wide variety of shows and an excellent youth theatre. The auditoriums are comfortable with a very intimate feeling.
B. D.
Really enjoyed the play, was better than expected as it was in pop up theatre well worth a visit.
J. M.
Never seen a bad show here, can be a little busy in the food area but what can you expect when there are good shows on
K. F.
We went to see The Bear for granddaughter 6th birthday.
Lovely theatre and staff very friendly and helpful.
P. S.
Went to see Sunshine on Leith.
Great performance.
A lovely theatre.
Nice food before the performance at a very reasonable price.
G. P.
Been here for a few different shows which have all been excellent. The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe in December was outstanding.
L. W.
Great venue with lots of space and enough toilets for the interval. Easy to get to and has a good range of performances
S. B.
We watched the lion, the witch and the wardrobe and it's amazing
Very cleverly done and if your a fan of the movies you won't be disappointed
G. H.
Fab play at Leeds Pop up theatre. 'Be My Baby'. Sorry to see pop up theatre go but looking forward to the new Playhouse opening
A. D.
Went to see "a little night music". Absolutely wonderful...a perfect performance.
P. F.
Great theatre: comfy seats, good selection of drinks at the bar, good provision of toilet facilities
E. L.
Amazing centre. Lovely and clean with ample facilities for guests. Staff were so friendly and went above and beyond!
E. H.
Watched the amazing Sunshine on Leith in the Quarry Theatre. Semicircular theatre gives an unobstructed view from every seat.
C. R.
Amazing performance of the Lion the witch and the wardrobe. Great staff helping out and the food on offer was nice and reasonably priced.
B. P.
Amazing was like we were watching the film loved every second
S. A.
Always love visiting this place. A perennial favourite to meet friends and / or attend a performance. Bar is crowded at intervals and restaurant times are limited.

The best play we have been to in years, very much in the sprit of John Steinbeck. Hard hitting and with so many issues that resonate today.
