Went on the free guided tour with Colin, he was very knowledgeable and gave an excellent insight to the history of the guildhall. Plenty of things to see within this building. Tour took about an hour and I would highly recommend a visit.

Absolutely fantastic. The Mayor's Officer conducted our tour and possesses an outstanding body of knowledge regarding the history of Lincoln. The tour times are limited but ABSOLUTELY worth the visit!

A fascinating and interesting tour by Colin. Great stories about the building and also Lincoln. Plenty of questions from the group and the tour well over an hour but really worth it. And the tour and entry is free so no reason not to visit.

A fantastic tour free .The guide Colin Hall made us all feel welcome and had excellent knowledge and explained everything so clearly.

The Guildhall has limited opening hours and days so check if you plan a visit. The tour of is free and our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly with a nice sense of humour. We spent well over an hour learning about various mayors and the history of the building itself, the longest in original use in the UK . A look at the processional robes and hats, a lot of memorabilia and photographs conclude the visit. Highly recommended. Very surprising that it is so little known!

Fantastic visit. So much history. Beautiful building. One of the oldest councils in England. The Bell for instance has called members to meetings for over 500 years, and is still used. The council table is especially two swords width, so members couldn't attack each other.

If you want to know more about the history of the City Lincoln rather than just about the cathedral and castle then visit the Guildhall. The building is still the home of the city council and it roots go back to the Roman period.
The knowledge and enthusiasm of the tour guide (to call him that is a disservice) is second to none. You will learn about the history of the City. You will learn about the history of the building and you will wonder why you didn't do it before.

If your passing by near the tour times its certainly worth entering at least once to see the architecture. I wouldn't describe it as exciting but its certainly beautiful and in great condition for its era.
Unfortunately I am unable to give further details on its history as I entered during its time hosting an art exhibition and the information had been set aside to make room.

I found the history of guildhall interesting. The building is very well preserved considering how old it is. The oak used in the roof structure is a credit to the tradesman of the time. There is much history in here to be seen and talked about and our guide of the afternoon was certainly interesting to talk to on the 27/07/19. (Well done) I found the oil painting of Queen Victoria the best I've ever seen so life like. I visited Lincoln for the first time in my life aged now 61 and this was a good starting point if you want to know more about the city. Well worth the visit so don't pass this by.

Only viewed fro the outside but certainly an interesting piece of lincolns architectural history. Had we had more time it would have been interesting to see the inside of this ancient structure and learn more of its rich municipal history.
