Reviews of Aintree Racecourse

Lovely big racecourse with lots to see in between races. We visited for the Grand National so it was absolutely heaving but having said that we didn’t have to queue long for food, drinks or toilet facilities because there were plenty of them. Viewing of the racecourse was easy and there were plenty of big screens around too. All in all a great day out.
S. W.
Great day apart from the weather! But what can you expect in November.
Aintree has a nice racecourse which is easy to get and close to the train station. Good day out for a big group!

We had an amazing experience on Sat 3rd December in the Classic Restaurant in Sunloch our package was 2 Courses I can honestly say we have been going to this meeting for over 12 years and this was our best experience yet. The food was exceptional all hot & tasty and plentiful and very efficient in service. There was no waiting for drinks and no waiting at the tote. Great atmosphere. Also my Mum has a Mobility scooter and she was treated with great care and respect by all the staff. Loads of TV screens and much improved commentary system. Well done
E. P. B.
Fairly easy to access and ample free parking. Great views of parade ring, winning line and Mildmay course. To view Grand National course you would need to be high up in one of the stands. Usual food and drinks facilities with usual above average prices. On course and tote bookmakers. All in all a lovely well managed course and a great day out.
M. S.
Extremely well organised. We booked a hospitality package and everything was spot on, from the parking to the meal. The venue was excellent. Able to view the races in comfort, especially when the weather is poor. Highly recommended
I. P.
Fantastic racecourse that is used for several different events other than racing.. I have ran around it in aid of a charity, been to concerts, displays and fairs and watched horse competitions. Great location, just 10 mins off Switch Island. Lots of free parking. Very clean and all staff friendly.
C. K.
We went there on a work conference. We use the facilities every year. Had a great time and a wonderful view over the racecourse. The food was very nice too.
J. F.
Great venue and we had a lot of fun.
Muy only criticism is some of the bar staff were not interested in serving drinks which caused a lot of people to wait 20 mins to get served.
S. j.
always good. but y do they charge £6 a 0int

I’m trying to tick off all the big racecourses meetings in the U.K. and I have to say for my first trip to the grand National - what an experience. Aintree is probably the best course I’ve been to 👏🏻👏🏻.
R. H.
Went here for the Home Bargains family festival and it was one of the best days me and my girlfriend had ever. The atmosphere of Aintree is amazing and would love to go on grand national day. The sights through the helicopter was wonderful too. Finally a huge thumbs up for TJ Morris for putting such a spectacular event on.
D. T.
A fantastic venue, it's not just about horse racing but also show jumping. It is a ideal place for a small or large conference. You can actually get married here too. They will also arrange for a tour of the site including the stables, weighing room etc if required.
G. k.
Really fun day out Quick Tips you’re meeting people there are many entrances so get organised.
J. J.
Absolutely fabulous function suites available for a party or event. We've attended here numerous times along with Radio City Cash for Kids, for family fun day events and more recently for the NHS 70th Birthday event celebration. The staff are amazing right from when you first go through the security gate, guiding you to available parking, assisting you to the correct location and in the function suite itself. It's also a great location for a wedding or corporate event. I'd highly recommend.
C. T.
Here for a 10k run through event, what a superb venue for it, parking, refreshments, faultless. Easy access from the motorway too. Fab day!
K. P.
Attended a children's Christmas Party at Aintree. Staff were lovely and the kids had a great time.
F. S.
Went to ladies day. Had a good day. Drinks were expensive though
R. D.
What can be said. If you know then you know. Best views from the boxes on the 5th floor.
I noticed Madri is the course beer. That’s a brand that’s cone from nowhere in the past few years, isn’t it. Think about it. Who’d heard of Madri two years ago… 🤔
Big retail park next door. Excellent M&S.
T. D.
At a function in papillon suite. What an amazing view of the race course and beyond. Staff very friendly, food and drink good
G. T.
Attended a show which was good and parking OK,but not that close if disabled. Show was over 4 floors but there is a lift for feint hearted.
C. B.
Attended RoR championships and the staff everywhere couldn't have done more for us - but the icing on the cake was a personalised tour by Jane, her knowledge, passion and love of Aintree is unbelievable- a 5 carot diamond day
G. H.
Bars really busy due to UB40 Concert after racing. Great night out atmosphere good as well
I.
Went there as part of a show my son took part in, everyone was welcoming and they had everything you needed right there and easy to find, staff were all amazing and so helpful
P. C.
Aintree Villa Fc v Rainhill Town FC - Good entertaining game in a famous setting
A. H.
Best racecourse on the planet. I've travelled the world to watch racing but have never found a place like my home course
K. B.
Was a trip of a life time was absolutely amazing. From the start to the finish. Steeped in history of past winners. Red rum statue fantastic. All the staff and security team were very helpful and excellent service. So much to do and see, was the best race course and atmosphere I have ever experienced anywhere. Highly recommended and book tickets for next year they sell out very quick indeed. Thank you for a fantastic day. Wow.
J. H.
Brilliant grand national day once again x
C. P.
Always a good day out at the grand national. The venue is great and even in the cheaper steeplechase enclosure it's not so packed you can't move and there's space to sit down. I can only go from my experience but food, drinks and toilets are adequate and I fully expect other race days to be good as well.
L. G.
Course Car Park awful, ruined my shoes walking over rubble and rough ground to get back to the car, not safe, poorly lit, no security staff, no signposts. We had to walk the long way round to get to it by the back of KFC, not allowed 'track side'. Again, not safe and poor way go treat visitors, I would not recommend it at all. Bar caused us issues, drinks not best for top end prices charged but I suppose only to be expected at a large event. Took payment before serving which meant I paid for drinks that had run out. Took 30 minutes to get a refund by which time I had missed loads of the Nile Rogers concert. But staff were great generally, issues we had couldn't be attributed to them I don't think, we went home early, really disappointed.
L. P. J.
We had a good two days at Aintree watching the R o R compitions.
Q. D.
Finally got to cross aintree off my visited courses and... It was okay. I missed two races while trying to get a drink from one of the inside bars (much faster at the outside ones). Wouldn't dream of coming to the national here. I went on a Sunday family day and it was packed. Nice course and good quality racing. Friendly people around the course too, I had a good time but I couldn't attend a big meeting here, it'd drive me nuts. Have to say it was a breeze getting in and out of though, nice work by the car park attendants 👌🏼
A. H.
Excellent Place to watch horse racing . The parking is free and easy to get in and out of the course. The facilities are really good. The bar is reasonable for a race course & a short walk from the Merseyrail station which also has free parking
M. L.
On my doorstep. Night time racing and Madness all in one go what more do you want. Evening was brill beer and food good. Racing geat. few quid back. Only issue no taxis waiting after concert. But good night.
M. W.
My first visit here. Very impressed with the set up. Yes the weather was rubbish but no real problems accessing and leaving the course. Easy to the bar and betting ring. Much more relaxed than the Festival. Already planning for next year
M. K.
My father in law enjoyed running half marathon here. We also enjoyed ourselves there.
G. J.
Had a good day, drinks were actually cheeper in the race course than they were in the queen's pub next door, staff were great although you had to use debit card and couldn't use cash I didn't like that Ive been many times before although had a great day I wasn't overly impressed this year. The event staff were great really friendly and funny!!
Even getting off the train station your were herded towards the doors of Aintree straight away with no real consideration for locals who live in the area although the police were brilliant and approachable, they managed it very well, and directed locals when asked.
The racing was great as usual although Randox has changed the set up over the years I'm not entirely sure it's for the better though,
K. F.
Great day at the Grand National again, first time in Queen Mother seats and would thoroughly reccomend. Lovely people and a nice area. Didn't seem too busy and staff were great. Had a few wins so always makes the day better. Got there early so no queue to get in and leaving was hassle free too, although glad I love near by and didn't have to wait for the trains! Love the races and Aintree is a lovely course 👍🏻
D. S.
We attended here for the Champions League final live screening and this was better organised then the French at the Stade de France, ample room, plenty of toilets and a good atmosphere a big clap to all the workers there as I can imagine it was not easy but staff were constantly going around litter picking
S. 1.
Amazing place to visit. Never realised just how fast the horses were until I saw the ambulance barely keeping up. That must be why cars and stuff are measured by them. Majestic.
r. s.
Full of history you can visit the place and sit were the jockeys have sat b4 running the most famous race in the world
G. H. U.
The experience was okay for me. The place was crowded mainly with many guests, and it was difficult to stand around for a casual drink or get served at the bar. The washrooms were also overcrowded, so much so even Women were entering Gents' toilets, and the place got littered with cups and no place to stand by the stalls. Otherwise, I found the food stalls excellent, but the prices weren't so low for many who come for a casual visit and not bet on races.
M. M.
Is an amazing festival to be part. It is beyond horse racing.
M. A.
Aintree Racecourse is fabulous but sadly after not having fans for the pandemic they seem set on recouping losses via punters now! £7.20 for a pint outside of London is just ridiculous
C. L.
I Really enjoy watching the horse riding
T. R.
What an amazing experience, everything is done by the hosts to make it a day to remember.
Y. W.
Had a fantastic day, took to long to get in, lovely staff. When a fight broke outside by the weighing room security and police had to be told as they were daydreaming or chatting but the security profiled a guy who had just finished working for them for a pittance and just happened to have a bike and backpack with his uniform in. They had him empty the contents of his bag and even questioned him over having a padlock utterly disgraceful.
M. Q.
Excellent facilities and based on the numbers attending it was a remarkably well run race day. More than ample stewards and police and on course staff where always at hand if need be. A taxi from the city centre to the course will cost £18 and trains run every 10mins to and from the course. Will be back.
S. C.
Well, I wasn't there for a race meeting, but for a conference. Superb facilities, and very helpful staff on site. Plenty of car parking, and a railway station just over the road. Can't comment on the race track itself, looked like a very large field with a fence around it.
P. E.
Went to see Niles Rogers and Chic last night along with the evening racing. Races a bit rubbish. Literally a three horse race for the most part. Niles and Chic on the other hand were amazing!! Downside and reason only 4 stars...Aintree, we were in the Earl of Derby and absolutely no notice was haven't that the bar was closing. A roomful of people all settled to watch the concert and nothing to drink!! Not good...
J. E.
Aintree racecourse, home of the grand national
Absolute disaster during national weekend getting to and from but fantastic place to visit
You have to weigh the pros and cons yourself as waiting after it is over for any form of transport is guaranteed
S. S. H.
Great place to go and watch live racing and if you are in the main stand near the winning line you can see 👀 a good view around the course. Good customer service polite and friendly staff. 🐎🐎🐎
S. J.
Many travel options. Large venue with many rooms for conference options and on-site hospitality. The experience of the outdoor seating gets better with the weather.
C. C.
Amazing day out, hospitality always great, food was ok,
C. C.
National day so it was busy but not overcrowded. Well organised! Drinks were reasonably priced as well. Great day!!
T. C.
We were there to watch the champions league final. Great buzz. Loads of food places, clean toilets. All that was missing was the match result
P. W.
Great facilities.. no cash though that was a pain.
v. 6.
Was a great day out even though I didn't have any winners.
D. M.
Great racecourse, pity about carling at £6 a pint
d.
Fantastic venue to accommodate the viewing of the champions league final for liverpool fans, staff were unbelievable, went so smoothly and everybody's health and safety was paramount.
Couldn't speak highly enough of the occasion, just a shame about the result
K. B.
Another year at Aintree, another great time was had. Great to return to some normality after strange times. Cost of living increases are well indicated by the beer prices though unfortunately!
M. H.
A great day as always on ladies day on the queen mother roof terrace 🐎🐎💷💷🍾🍾
d. w.
This is a world famous racecourse and always great to visit. I just wish the rip off drink prices would be addressed. Scandalous, and warm tinned Guinness to boot.
C. R.
Great day out at the Grand National. Been nearly every year for the past 15 years. Now go to the Lord Daresbury stand on the roof. Great view of the course and right by the finish line.
C. L.
Attended for a corporate function. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
L. C.
Smart course. Went there to a guitar suite as not that keen on horse racing.
A. B.
Very spacious, clean and modern. Very good venue 👌
G. M.
I went to Ladies Day with my 2 friends from Sheffield. Yet again we had a fantastic time. Its so well organised from getting on the train in Liverpool to getting inside the race course. We were in the RANDOX stand 4th floor. All the staff are welcoming and have a smile on their faces. We had 4 winners to make it an even better day. Well worth a visit.
C. M.
Good value for money. Food was hot. Nice carvery. Plenty of meat served. 🍖
M. G.
Went for the grand national what a great place and a great day. £8 for a pint of ice cold carling served from a back pack so you didnt even have to move from your spot. We were in the tattersall area great view great day what a atmosphere!
A. K.
Went for young driver and the foster son absolutley loved it, team were so great and made him feel safe but in control.
M. C.
Festival zone. Deliberately provide insufficient seats to ensure long suffering, exhausted fans are kept on they're feet all day. Ladies toilets hopelessly inadequate on busy days, frequently leading to a 30 minute delay. Food and drink grossly overpriced. Avoid.
R. B.
I attended the Equestrian Centre for an event, it's a stunning indoor location
B. B.
Took grand children here to young drivers. Great experience for them.
T. R.
Had a fabulous day with my 2 daughter's at there first ever race meeting.... Natalie and nicola... natalie had first 2 winners.....lots of entertainment goin on besides the racing... we all had a great time
p. c.
Very Disappointed in the hospitality at the Jockey club
Princess box sat of Grand National.
Sadly felt the place was disorganised lack of drink ….In all
Category From Prosecco / champagne/ no Bacardi, Cheap white rum
No tonic , well ran out by 4.30
Meal was rather cold and lack of it on plate
The after Tea …… on a table of 12 our stand had 5 scone , sliced cake , 7 choc cup cake ,
No sandwich, ….. no coffee / offered.
Staff were very pleasant got to say just very poor quality
At £750 a head you expect a little better .
We felt short changed big time
Was here before lockdown at hospitality in Box and only 12 Of
Us in the room ,
And it was perfection…
In every aspect.
This has definitely put me of Aintree
I don’t mind paying but hate poor food lack of drink & food
c. b.
Delicious meal, excellent service
C. N.
Brilliant it's a great place to visit day or night racing as with all racecourses food and drink is quite pricey but the atmosphere is fab. Staff are very friendly too.
A. C.
Attended race meeting great day out beer was a little pricey
B. E.
Queues to get in horrendous. Reduced to token security. Probably down to the ridiculous drinks prices. People leaving it late to get in choosing to drink outside so everyone arrived late. Missed the first race to find the bar was deserted. Learning point for the organisers. Racing was good and the after race entertainment 👌. £8 a pint forCarling so only 3 stars. Greed factor.
L. C.
It was a fun day but the prices for the drinks were extortionate. £42.50 for a bottle of prosecco & £7 for a pint. There was no quing system in place, it was every man for themselves.
R. C.
Overpriced drinks and entrance fee. I am now at the positional point of no more entertainment myself at racecourses in the future, the main reason being the price if drinks which are invariably poor quality and extremely overpriced. BHB and racecourse owners need to wake up. P.s. I usually attend up to ten race meetings a year.
P.
Princess Royal Suite - 4th floor of the Princess Royal Stand - set out for a conference.
A. D.
If you want to dress up for a special occasion and have a fun day, then this is a great opportunity. Very special! Highly recommend!
K. M.
Very good atmosphere, can be a bit busy. And may be expensive for food but well worth it for the experience
E. J.
Beautiful arena lovely and clean Brilliant day for dressage
A. A.
Nice spot. Very friendly staff
J. T.
Went to the Liverpool Real Madrid game on the big screen.
Well organized, with a good choice of food and drink on site.
Shame about the result.
D. W.
Brilliant for a day out. Lots of eating and drinking outlets. Plenty to occupy you over and above the horse racing. On site betting facilities.
R. W.
Went to my first grand national this year and loved it in princess royal roof stand. Great views sadly no winners but will return.
I. L.
Tick off my bucket list but wount rush back. Hoards of people, many well "oiled". Queues for everything, over priced drink, food. Toilet waits +++ Rubbish, plastic cups scattered around. Could not see the race course.
M.
Brilliant, ladies day was amazing and the staff were hospitable and lovely, same with all the security. Food was good as were the drinks
A. S.
Racing was good bar's very busy & could do with more staff & Nile Rogers was fantastic a good day & night overall
D. O. N.
Brilliant Festival, great racing and fantastic atmosphere
I.
Great day on Grand National day... but some of the serving staff in the bars were abysmal...one guy couldn't even open a bottle of prosecco... they caused disruption..
S. D.
Papillon suite, lovely food, friendly staff, great view
A. C.
Love going to Aintree races it's always a good day out. At £20 a ticket and open to all areas it's a win win. Trains available to arrive just across the road from the course within 2 min walk. And if you're lucky they may have entertainment afterwards.
J. B.
Wonderful time at The Grand National so much so that were booked again for next year. Be aware that you will be spending a small fortune for the experience.
N. R.
This is a well organised and fantastic event. Would recommend it to anyone
A. T.
Great place to go to watch the races, haven't been there much so I can't say much more. Very big place and staff are happy to help.
R. W.
Dropped daughter off for prom was great!! Security advised where to park very organised
R. M.
Fabulous and thanks for a lovely day. The course was great thanks. Hope to see you next year. Its really a good place visit for a couple of days firday @saturday
S. H.
Really good venue. Good facilities. Many mobile vans to get food and drink.
A. L.
Racing was ok, but the concert was astounding. The security and facilities on course were excellent.
R. J.
Amazing Atmosphere
Staff were extremely helpful
Amazing venue.
Wod definitely recommend it to friends and family
I will definitely come again.
L. A.
Our son goes here to do young driver which itself is so good but Aintree racecourse I'm not a fan of
L. S.
Absolutely ace, has everything you need in a racecourse with nice staff.
c.
Countryside day was a bit disappointing as there was no stalls, this wasn't mentioned in the advertisement for the day. The country clothing stalls is the main reason I go. I must add though, the staff and service were great, very polite and friendly.
G. J.
Best racecourse ever but how they outprice themselves is unbelievable...been going every year for the past 35 years but no more...£7.20 a pint and next years ticket(already on sale to get interest on your money) will be £131 for the Queen Mother stand compared to £100 this year...rediculous and a bad rip off
s. o.
Went for ladies day. Was such a fantastic atmosphere.
F. M.
Excellent racecourse with excellent racing but food & drinks are very expensive
P. E.
First time at aintree for the Grand National
I booked through The Jockey Club and the response and experience was amazing
We will be back next year for the National again xx

Went to see UB40 who were brilliant and the security staff who were an outside company were excellent, can't praise them highly enough.
P. N.
Works Christmas party, well manag3d event
M.
Great place to chill and enjoy the weather
M. B.
Had a great day at Aintree despite the Baltic weather. It was one of the best tracks I've been to 😀
D. L.
When here to see chic and had a bet on the 2nd to last race and won a great day all round
J. D.
We went for a driving experience for our daughter. We found it easy to get to, clean, bright facilities and plenty of car parking, though probably not on race days.
d. e.
Was there today at the launch of The weights, with Jason Cook from Ice cream cone tv @icecreamconetv.
C. R.
I love Cheltenham but Aintree has blown my mind, what a race course - great views - lovely people in and around the course.
K. R.
November meeting, a great course but very cold
M. S.
Good flat route for a half marathon
C. H.
Event center is really great 👍. Easy to park and lovely place.
R. C.
So glad to be back for the Grand National. Fantastic atmosphere. Good selection of food outlets.
P. J.
Fantastic Friday evening meet ..met up with a group off friends for a long overdue catchup. Facilties at the course were first class .no hastle and table service for drinks .highly recommend..under the circumstances Aintree racecourse put on a first class service
B. S.
Great course great access great facilities
M. W.
Fantastic outside liverpool fc hospitality. Amazing food!
D.
Fantastic day of racing and drinks and entertainment kn the Thursday for NHS day! Loved every second!
G. R.
Attended for my schools prom. Couldn't fault the venue, service, food, staff. Excellent experience of a function there. Would highly recommend.
K. T.
Fantastic day out a few months back for a function.
Attentive staff, friendly atmosphere and great company.
Will definitely be returning.
K. K.
Drinks are expensive but that's what I expected. we went to a race night then Craig David was singing live had a great night
G. L.
Had our wedding there and the place was amazing, the staff were brilliant from the initial booking to the day itself. The food, the Princess Royal Suite and the quality of service from all of the Aintree team were top notch.
If you've a big occasion planned you should seriously check this place out.
You won't be disappointed !!!!!
P. F.
A premier track with facilities to match. The Queen Mother Roof offers panoramic views of the course and is the perfect place to watch National Hunt racing.
Plenty of catering options. Only criticism is of the choice of drinks at the bar. Really low end brands at premium prices where a premium beer is called for.
Staff are always helpful and friendly. The Aintree festival is really well run and is a must for a top Weekend away
S. N.
Always a great day out when there are enough people to make an atmosphere but not so many as to make it feel claustrophobic (Grand National mtg). Great views of the whole course from main grandstand. Doesn't quite have the welcoming reception of the smaller courses but difficult when lots of external staff brought in just for the one day.
T. S.
Great daybout for the while family
m. p.
A little disappointed with the hospitality,no choice of mains only beef on offer.webwhere not asked how we liked it cooked it all came rare .It was by far very oversted overpriced and a poor performance from the jockey club
V. H.
Nice place to relax.
E. S.
Unbelievable day out if you can get a few people together, great buzz about the place especially on a nice sunny day, bars and take outs are everywhere so dont worry about starving yourself selection of all foods.
Bars every 100 metres and also coffee place available.
Highly recommended, when you go once you will always go back again.
S. B.
We went in the West tip stand on Thursday and I must say I was very impressed with the facilities. The toilets where absolutely spotless and no the queing at the bar area. The only snag is the cost of the drinks but you expect to pay that a racecourse. All in all it was a good day. All the staff are helpful
P. S.
We really enjoyed ourselves, brilliant concert , venue an horseracing.
It was easy to find an parking wasn't a problem. Good an drink was reasonably.
All round an Excellent experience, will definitely be going again , many thanks
C. L.
Went this morning for our Booster Jab.Very well organised.I was in before my appointment, and my husband as well. The staff very helpful and cheerful. No problems at all.Well done Aintree.
A. S.
We came to watch the Grand National; what a day! The setup is fantastic, it's like a gambling horsey theme park! All the staff I spoke to are very friendly and accommodating, even on what I assume it's the busiest day of the year! There are museum and so great food outlets; admittedly it's street food but it was damn tasty! I can't comment on what this place is like on a normal day, but on National day it's truly epic! Even if you're not big on horse racing you should come at least once!
N. D.
Great day at the Grand National. Loads of staff, all very helpful, security excellent, great day out. Food and drink pricey but only what you expect in a venue like this. Would definitely go again, started saving for next year
G. T.
Working with the other contractors. They are getting everything ready for the big day
A. P.
Always a great day out, its pricey but it is an iconic venue for an iconic event
T. M. R. B. A.
Great day. Attended NHS day.
L. A.
Always wanted to go and see raving on the Grand National course. We had a good day despite the fact that we only had one winner. Only disappointment was the fact that Beechers and the Canal Turn fences were so far from the stands but we did have a great view of the Chair and the water fence. Food and staff fantastic as usual. Don't worry about parking, it's only a short walk from the metro
V. L.
Sorry to disappoint but I wasn't here to watch horse racing or anything like that. I came for my 2nd covid 19 vaccination. It was administered in the Irish area and was all conducted extremely well and very professionally.
T. B.
Had a great time rain wind and cold no one can predict the weather. Staff very friendly. Only criticism is being inside on such an awful day more tables and chairs needed or just tables when you have a drink in your hand you can't look at your race book not enough hands to put your bet on Other than that well organised.
S. B.
At the Grand National again this year always a great experience!! Friendly helpful staff and well organised. Big shout out to Michael thee best steward ever at the Chair Pavilion!! Great work young man we all loved you x
M. B.
Went here for the Grand National, was an amazing day, such a great atmosphere and so much to see. We were in the Lord daresbury roof stand which gave great views of the finish line and I also had a few wins on the bets I placed which is always good. Queues we're managed quickly for food and drink and betting and to get in. Would definitely love to return next year.
j. g.
Had a great time!
S. A.
Went to the last meeting of the season. Plenty of bars available to use as it was not the grand national weekend meeting.
The prices are like those found at typical sporting events.
A few choices for food from the usual Van's.
The prices are on par with those found at fares and festivals.
Plenty of viewing points to watch the races. But not being the main grand national weekend the crowds are far lower.
Getting out the area afterwards can take a little bit. So it's best to stop a little bit after the last race or leave before the last race.
V. P.
Went to the grand national. What an occasion. Everyone dressed up. Loads of people there and a real buzz about the place. Beer and food well priced. Good entertainment laid on to help pass the time too. Easy to get a bet on every race. Thoroughly recommend as a day out
A. W.
Best to arrive by train or organise a car parking space. Taxi cannot get close as one would wish. An amazing day out. I experienced the launch of the new Silver Birch Enclosure amazing food betting inside area, bar After the finish and at the start line. Great when the weather is cold. All areas though are great.
K. g.
Just got back from here after taking my son on a young drivers lesson which was brilliant but when I was parking my car I was told to move by a arrogant parking attendant.
When I explained I was disabled this made absolutely no difference to him.
The place I was parked was not blocking or obstructing anyone or anything.
And I would like to add that I've parked in the same place a couple of times when I've been there for same driving lesson.
Hope this man never has the hassle he has just put me through.
Otherwise brilliant experience for my son
G. F.
Great venue, with great events on. Always enjoy going to Aintree to watch or compete. Cafe is s good too !!
P. S.
Great on race days but expensive to eat at any of the food outlets
J. D.
Wonderful day at Aintree with all the Countryside Day events going on as well of course as the main event of the day Seven horse races. Facilities for the racing as you would expect are excellent. Lots of eating and drinking outlets to choose from. Parking is free on all race days apart from the 3 day Grand National meeting. . A great day out and 2 more meetings to look forward to before Christmas.
A. J.
Nice track and plenty of bookies. Can be very busy on National day but will get served with food and drink fairly quickly as enough staff to cater for all. Function room is nice with good food but very expensive.
A. H.
Grate family day for the country side alliance meeting. Loads for the kids to do and lots to see. Pony rides where real good the line was a bit long. My girls really enjoyed themself and the free fun houses where good considering there was no cost for the rids.
C. M.
Went to see Madness here and the venue was great! Loads of bars and food outlets and plenty of rest rooms. Train station across the road too so getting home was easy. Brilliant place for a gig. 😁🎶🎤
K. F.
Been a few times amd love the place
P. A.
Nice place. Roof bar wasn't open so other bars were a bit busy but didn't detract from the day. Good day out
s.
Good place. Shopping centre nearby. Station and Bus stop is also at walking distance. Many restaurants. Highly recommended.
Too much traffic during Bank Holidays and weekends.
H. B.
Great day out for adults! Overpriced food but this is to be expected at a large event where you can’t take your own and drink.
Well organised events are run here by a team who are used to large groups and larger numbers of people.
Make sure you layer up and take a brolly! Often rains in April at Aintree.
S. M.
Was there with my daughter doing the Young Driver course.
Very good Turkish restaurant, Defne, a few minutes walk is recommended.
J. B.
Second visit. For Grand National. Absolutely phenomenal. Would love to go again.
S. S.
The best Grand National which I have been to so far. Very well organised and supervised. Excellent day. Aintree Racecourse did a superb job to make this a thoroughly enjoyable event for everyone.
M. M.
I'm not a seasoned horsey man, and know very little about gambling, however I very much did enjoy my time at Aintree for Lady's Day.
The staff are exceedingly friendly and happy.
The food was excellent and the alcohol flowing.
There's plenty to do and everyone is generally in high spirits. I'd definitely recommend attending Aintree if you haven't already, even if you're not a horsey person.
P. B.
Went to a drive in film here for Xmas, the event was good, well organised and we really enjoyed the film - on a minor note when driving into the racecourse the event was not signposted - so many drivers went the wrong way!!
s. h.
A great racing experience.
S. M.
I came here for a conference which was great, but I found the layout of the rooms a bit confusing. To get between the rooms you have to go outside as the stairs are outside the buildings and it was freezing! Also there was nowhere to leave coats/bags which was very inconvenient as most people had suitcases.
The conference lunch was really good, especially the soup and puddings.
R. H.
Came here for the half marathon and although it was raining all day, the staff were very helpful and the course was well laid out. Only gripe was that none of the actually building facilities were open, so we were left to go to the toilet in porta-loos NEXT to the actual indoor toilets! Overall, was alright.
D. M.
First visit to watch some show jumping
L. W.
Had an amazing day at the Grand National. I felt safe with the amount of security but, also everyone was so friendly. Made my day, year, life actually being there on National day right near the winning post .
C. K.
Good racing, plenty of clean toilets but wanted to sit down and have something to eat on a plate with a proper knife and fork - couldn't find anywhere. Staff couldn't help me. I had to be in hospitality to have that it seems.
S. S.
Everything you could ask for and more, live music, ample facilities, St John's Ambulance areas. Variable prices to suit all. Easy access via public transport on race days. Weather dependant to make it awesome day out., not to be missed.
M. T. (.
Great event. But not enough toilets.
B. P.
Love the place, have won thousands, here only at the winter meeting in December, love the place. Got the Circus next week can't wait, get there or be square 😂😂😂😂
N. R.
Amazing day at the races - Grand National 2019
J. B.
Had a great day at Grand National, very expensive, a couple of problems need sorting, the need for more toilets, the police were a bit OTT with batons like walking sticks. 13 cops threw an old man out!!!!!! I was disgusted.
Peaky Blinders came to mind, some blokes very trendy.
Lots of lovely ladies dressed for a good day.
a. d.
Awesome place to take a break off work
D. C.
£6 for a pint of Carling was the only negative thing about the day.
Lovely course, good atmosphere.
J. M.
Great day out....fantastic atmosphere. Drinks expensive but to be expected
J. F.
As always welcoming staff. I love the Aintree Racecourse
M. M.
Stevie did young driver training here, Excellent venue.
R. F.
Went for a hen do to the races... I think I saw a jockey...very crowded, few places to rest especially when 2 members of the party had medical conditions, one fainted and I found it weird that the cleaners and steward I found had no radios to call for assistance. The ambulance crew we found were already with another patient. Hopefully next time there will be more people with radios, couldn't believe the lack of ability to communicate between staff, what if there was an evacuation? Surely the staff need to be aware of what's going on. But it was an experience, glad I went.
D. C.
went with my husband for his birthday surprise. we had a surprise as my 2 sisters and partners surprised us my turning up we all had a brill time had a couple if winners.to top it all Craig David he was amazing. everyone singing dancing, the atmosphere was electric everyone looked lovely; we sure no how to impress. Aintree race course is just the best. we come here as much as we can especially when they put on a top act. well done Aintree.
A. C.
fantastic day and night watching the racing and Madness.
t.
Food and drink tend to be a little expensive, but always decent quality . A bit short on seating, in some areas. But Always a good day here.
S. “.
Nice pub, nice grub, with plenty of seating both inside and out
R. R.
Great venue for celebration parties, with entertainment, good food and drink.
B. L.
I love seeing the race course, I mean, the grand national, what isn't to love!
I have heard that this place has function rooms available which are very nice, but I haven't personally been in these areas.
Outside the venue there's several restaurants, a gym and a hotel.
W. E. t. w. b. r. i.
The atmosphere was charismatic. I would suggest that everyone should go out to Aintree just once. Father promised me that he would take me when I was older, but died of a heart attack. So I waited for 20 years to experience the the thrill of it all. Harry Evans can now rest in peace. His youngest daughter loves the horses too. Getting ready for ladies day at ascot. Can,t wait. Xxx
R. M.
Great day out!!
F. C.
This was my 41st visit to the Grand National which is an event that I look forward to all year. There are other big racing festivals with superb racing provided, but to me the National has a mystery and intrigue about it unlike any other race. For the second year in a row, the weather Gods smiled kindly on Aintree and this made the day even more enjoyable. Let us get this straight, if you do not like crowds and the associated hurly burly, then Aintree is NOT for you..I had a rooftop ticket which afforded me with excellent, panoramic views of the racecourse. Most of the race goers have sight also of a large screen which shows the racing.Tickets are not cheap and food and drink are expensive. But, having said that, it needs to be remembered that there is only one Aintree National each year and it is an incredible spectacle.Facilities are decent too, there are countless food and drink outlets and also a lot of Totepool and other betting facilities. I did find the stairs up to the roof quite challenging and I will have to think about getting lower level tickets or go to a stand with a lift facility next year.
K. B.
Went here for the "young drivers" session. Could not fault the place. Lovely views across the racecourse and very clean and tidy both inside and outside. Must go and visit again for the actual horse racing next time.
D. F.
Great venue for show jumping and the races. Great pub nearby (Toby Carvery for all yoy can eat breakfast and a carvery later on tje the night)
Close to the train station so you dont have to worry about getting taxis or the bus.
Overall a greqt venue
P. S.
Went for a conference. It was well organised. Good venue.
A. D.
Fabulous Equestrian Centre , Very Professionally run. Would be nice if there was a viewing Gallery upstairs
C. W.
Great conference suite but bring your own food if you have dietary requirements! Big space and clean washrooms - nice view too!!
K. A.
Management Unable to cope or provide shelter in heavy rain. Left early after 3rd race. Queen Mother bar had no TV so could not see the races.
Racing excellent but check weather forecast if u have a standard ticket. .
L. C.
No covid restrictions in place whatsoever although had a great day too many people
D. B.
Good day had at the memory walk .lots of rain but didn't dampen the spirits of the hearty walkers.my friend came in about twentieth position which is good for a young filly at aintree so she won't be pulling the milk cart next week 😂 great turnout by all and well deserved applause for a worthy cause 👏
J. P.
The day was great with no problems whatsoever even though I didn't get a winner all day. The price of food and drink is very expensive which unfortunately seems to be the norm at the big venues
V. K.
Attended the Grand National. Well organised think it was the Lord Derby stand. Great views of the horses as they sprinted off. Spent a bit of time inside due to the cold. Nightmare getting home as per usual. Cant wait til next year.
N. G.
Good atmosphere. Only thing I found was I didn't upgrade as I've never been to Aintree and it's very spread out so I didn't get into the paddock which for me is the best part of going to the races.
r. w.
Very posh but pleasant experience, very friendly staff nothing was to much trouble
S. D.
Aintree racecourse has been set up as a covid test and vaccination centre. Very well organised. Medical staff and volunteers all friendly and helpful.
C. M.
Great view from Princess Royal Stand!
S. H.
Attended for medical exams nice place for the exams
J. H.
Good Function Room For England Game not sure if I'd go for racing though the fences look like dots
P. C.
A truly AMAZING day.. winners in 4 out of 7 races a fun filled day (prices a little high for drinks tho) and the sun was blazing down on us too.. a little sun tanned by the end of the day😎🌞. Then dancing back home in Rochdale🎶🎶🍹🍷🍺
S. W. T. B. T.
Went here for the national and had a ball. Obviously it was heaving and the only criticism I have is the pure volume of people versus the facilities available lead to a scrum between races to get to the bar or the toilet or both if you got a good run.
J. M.
Had the best day in The Festival Zone (The Tatters) just found the bar prices extremely expensive
A. F.
Great day out for Grand National. Different entertainment during day, but what let's it down like other places is extortionate food and drink price's. £6 a lukewarm pasty? £9 a gin drink.
N. F.
Unbelievable race meet. Such fun to be had at such a large venue but yet easy to get from one part of the venue to the next. Grand National day is something special.... hear the Tiger Ro(ll)ar
V.
We had a lovely weekend at Aintree, as they were hosting stars . Very helpful staff.
M. T.
Great course with great staff
J. B.
Always beautiful love it
R. B.
Loved it but up graded to festival zone was still a lot of restriction thought we'd get seats on front but all standing I'm 70 n it was our 40th wedding anniversary n I m active but have arthritis so cant stand for long .Went 2 years ago for hubby's 70 went over the other side was able to sit on grass bank for £30 each less .
D. G.
Great show ground, easy access from the motorway.
K. B.
Should be 5* minimum but the Carling lager was absolutely dreadful, should have tried something else I suppose, the event was well presented, love the place, yes I know what do you expect as I'm a Scouser, staff all over the course credit to the jockey club, oh i also backed a winner and came home with more money than i left the house with, lucky me.
G. C.
Great day out as always on ladies day...very efficiently run and great value for money
S. S.
Got my covid booster jab at the race course the other day was fast. And they also race horses here too win win.
J. N.
Wonderful set up, very well organised, a brilliant experience
R. G.

C. L.
I had a great day for my 70th birthday with my sons and brother
F. R.
Highly rated no racing on my visit but both my Wife and myself got our Covid immunisation injection there today so happy days
P. G.
I only go for the Grand National event. It is a feat of genius, the organisation is a sight to behold. From the trains running every seven minutes to the fantastic races. Love it.
R. S.
Far too pricey in terms of drinks and food especially when considering the tired old toilets, screens, bars and other bits. Held up by a great event, good atmosphere and some nice staff.
P. C.
Went to the race course for COVID lateral flow test. Excellent venue choice: lots of parking and a short walk from the station.
P. W.
Home of the greatest steeplechase on Earth 🌍 Why is this and why is it called a steeplechase I hear you ask?
Steeplechase dates back to when local gentry, landowners, farmers etc. Would hold a race to see who had the fastest horses the course of the race would be in a straight line to a distant church steeple hence the 'course of the race' became the 'Racecourse' and as the horses race after each other towards the church steeple jumping over fences and hedges as they went this type of race became known as a 'Steeplechase'.
So why is Aintree Racecourse home of the worlds greatest Steeplechase? It's in Liverpool that's why. 😁
T. F.
Came here for the Grand National - great day out! Everything was organised well, only downside would be the cost of food and drink onsite but even then it is pretty reasonable all things considered.
G. H.
We were in the princess royal stand and like the year before the toilets were absolutely full and Q's out of the door , I went outside to where there are masses of toilets but unfortunately there was masses of young men and unfortunately I witnessed quite a bit of drug taking inside the cubicles having said all that I enjoyed the day
I. M.
Attended for second covid vaccination
Calm, efficient, safe and friendly are the words I would use to describe the experience!!
L. N.
Went for a Works party. Beautiful venue. The Extremely professional and friendly staff, together with the views and flawless setting, made this an unforgettable night. Thank you.
P. B.
Amazing day, watching the Grand national.

*Have fun, its not all about winning the bets
M. I.
Easy to get to well signposted
Large indoor arena some seating available
A. G.
Love Aintree race course. We always go every year before covid.
Hopefully Aintree will be able to open for events soon.
J. K.
Great bp 50kw charging for my Nissan leaf when the added benefit of a free horse show
R. G.
Aintree should be a 5 star experience but sadly it is let down by only one thing... The lack of toilets 🚻
As a regular race goer who loves the big meetings, one thing in horse racing needs to be addressed is access to toilets.
Me and My Family and Friends went to Ladies Day and truly enjoyed the day, but felt sorry for all the Ladies who were stuck in queues for the toilets, one or two of them in desper going into the Mens toilet.
Urgent action is needed on this as simply it's no way to treat a lady.
m. k.
Went to see gandy circus with my grandson & great grandsons it was fantastic. I would recommend everyone to go & see it .very friendly staff
W. P.
Liverpool at it's best home of the Grand National we went to the Thursday meeting A great day out 2 winners 😄.Bar staff great didn't have yo wait to be served we were in Tatts so it was busy food on sale top quality toilets no queuing and serviced all day all in all A great day out on a spectacular Race Course.
J. Z.

S. D.
Clean and tidy in the function room I was in. The food was delicious and served hot, staff couldn't have been more attentive than they were.
k. b.
Took someone for covid booster there , easy parking, helpful staff, easy to find and negotiation around
A. B. -. C.
Once again, one of the greatest shows on earth. How do you beat it.
W. N.
Been here several times over the years. More facilities/ chance to walk inside of Grand National course at the Grand National meeting but meeting more crowded than all others. October meeting is family/ countryside day with several attractions. December meeting features 2 races over the Grand National fences whilst the evening meetings in May and June usually have either live music or a DJ after racing. Grand National meeting takes place in April with one race each day (Foxhunter's 'Chase on Thursday and Topham 'Chase on Friday) over the Grand National fences with the Randox Health Grand National on the Saturday. Good value tickets for non Grand National meetings but tickets can be expensive for the Grand National meeting especially Grand National Day.
K. S. (.
As always a really well organized event in great surroundings, ample parking for vehicles of all sizes, greatly improved cafe upstairs and because this was a HOYS experience event loads of fab shopping!!
D. J.
Good place to work especially when it's grand national week
s.
Great racecourse that has loads of different events throughout the year normally but sadly due to covid it is now a walk in testing centre
L. C.
Absolutely brilliant atmosphere all around the course
G. T.
Grand National 2019 what more do I have to say!!
M. K.
Brilliant day at the races, fab party atmosphere, food, drinks and a chance to win a few Bob, get your glad rags on and get down to Aintree for a great experience.

National day has great atmosphere, very busy, but still easy to get served in the equestrian centre.
m. m.
Went to aintree today so my 11yr old grandson could take a young driver driving lesson ,he was so excited .we paid 16 pound extra so he would have a recording of his lesson all went well until we got home,we put the memory stick into computer and then into TV it started to play with a high pitched buzz and played for 1 min 40 secs and then went off. We have sent the company an email ,then decided to go back to aintree and confront them, we were told they couldn't reemburse us as we had paid by credit card ,after a lot of hassle they said they will phone head office, the fella comes back and said they are sending me an envelope to send SD card back to be checked,I then asked to speak to them he used his phone and I spoke to them. The out come of the conversation was send it back ,my grandson has autism and I think they should at least give him a free lesson so it can be recorded again .I am know waiting for envelope 😘😘
j. b.
1st time visiting Aintree racecourse we went to watch UB40. There was also racing on at the time so we enjoyed putting bets on and we WON 😊 great day out

A. S.
Went for a lateral glow covid test. So very well organised. In and out in 10 mins and results received in half hr.
M. K.
Horse racing track . Can be a pain to get to when nationals are on due to all the road closures by the police and dropping off can be a pain as you cant stop on the roads as it gets posted to be a no drop zone for miles with police everywhere. If going on a national day add a little more time for your journey
R. D.
brilliant best jumps course in the country leaves Cheltenham way behind
J. N.
Came here for a Liverpool FC game with a meal before hand. Great place!
R. M.

W. M.
The course is home of the Grand Nationalsteeplechase, one of the most famous races in the world.[1] Steeplechasing at Aintree was introduced in 1836, though flat racing had taken place there for many years prior to this.[1] It is regarded as the most difficult of all courses to complete successfully, with 16 steeplechase fences including renowned obstacles the Chair, Foinavon, Valentine's, Canal Turnand Becher's Brook. These are so infamous that even their names strike fear into the most professional of jockeys. All fences bar the water jump are covered with spruce, unlike at any other course in British National Hunt racing. Four other races take place over the National fences. These are the Topham Chase (formerly known as the John Hughes Trophy Chase) and the Fox Hunters' Chase at the Grand National meeting, and the Grand Sefton Handicap Chase and Becher Chase in the December meeting. Within the large National course there is also the smaller Mildmay course containing hurdles and fences. These fences are made of traditional National Hunt material. The National and Mildmay courses used to share the water jump, but the water jump is no longer used on the Mildmay course.

Not my favourite race track but it is historic. Personally unless I have a horse racing I will watch on TV. Because the view isn't the greatest.

I visited for the color run. Parking was limited, but overall the facilities were pretty good and the event was well supervised and staffed.

Great day at the racing ....only one thing that I was dissatisfied with....nowhere to sit in the Irish Bar...bit cold outside so inbetween races we came in from the cold and by the last race my right knee was killing me no chairs or benches so had to suffer until we got back on the coach...other than that no complaints.
