When I first looked at easy it was to sell a car with Carwow I thought NO WAY! But it was amazing. No hassle within a couple of hours I had a buyer for more than I was expecting and it flowed within days. I've used carwow to buy cars in the past but this was the first time I've used it to sell one. Great experience....far better than the other options that are advertised on TV and radio incessantly. Within a few minutes of posting my car, I had interesting offers from online buyers but the real fun started after 24 hours when the dealer interest started coming in. I rejected the first offer and soon after carwow were on the phone to discuss my requirements and set a buy it now price. A few hours later I had my price met and was delighted. We'd recently got a new car and wanted to sell our old one for months but I've been too busy. Eventually I listed it on CarWow because the selling process seemed really simple. So simple in fact that I wasn't expecting a lot but if we could sell it in the next few weeks I would have been happy. Immediately on listing the car we had a couple of automatic offers and 5 minutes later the phone rang with more offers. Someone from CarWow called and dealt with one offer we were interested in and 20 mins later we had the final offer we wanted and we never even had to speak to the dealer. At this point I provided copies of the documentation - MOT Service History, Log Book - and photos of the car condition to the dealer and we had a deposit in our bank within an hour and an arrangement to pick up the car, pending an inspection, the following morning. The guy arrived on time and was really polite and checked over the car thoroughly. The dealer was happy and transferred the remaining funds there and then and, following confirmation from my bank, they loaded the car up, completed the paperwork for me and job done. Simple, straightforward, quick and a good price for the car. To be honest I've probably had more stressful trips to the supermarket.

Process went through their sub brand wizzle. Extremely easy to use and very good. Rather than standard one off offers. You use the portal to upload your car and garages basically bid in your car. Even got a personal call from people at wizzle who further negotiated a perfect deal directly with a garage. The whole process was done within a week and money in my account within an hour of my car being collected. I have used Car Wow once only and my purchase this week followed a discount quote at a BMW dealership in my area. They are a good tool to use, but don't be fooled by the car dealers, do your own research, see several dealerships before committing and never, never ever accept the first deal - the dealer will throw everything they can to sell it to you right there at that time. Be polite and say you need to think about it, go home, do your extensive research on the model that you want, or several models. I've used Carwow as a tool to get what I wanted, but I didn't use Carwow to purchase as all the research and time invested paid off, their average savings on a new car is about £3-4k, I managed to shred down £7.6k. Obviously someone has to make money somewhere, but it's up to you if you want to go the extra hassle and save almost double.

I am hopeless at trying to bargain/barter or negotiate when it come to buying a car. There is intense pressure to make difficult decisions whilst the salesperson is in front of you, I have no idea what sort of discounts might be possible, and I find the whole experience very uncomfortable. So, what a complete contrast this experience is! Its so easy to build your new ideal car on-line, step by step, adding as much or little of the extras as you want, click the button and within a few hours you have 5 offers with discounts that in some cases you wouldn't have dreamt they would ever agree to! And you can go back and do it again, varying the actual model, the spec or whatever you want. In my case I had already seen and tested the car I wanted at the local dealer, but his best offer was 5% more than the best I had received through CarWow. When I showed him the better offer, there was a bit of muttering and back-office discussion with his manager, but they wanted my business and agreed to exactly match the price. It made me feel quite powerful, knowing I had managed to secure a deal I would never have had the nerve to try on my own. Thanks CarWow - this really is an extraordinarily good service and if I ever need a new car again in the future, I know where I will be starting to look!

Buying through Carwow was overall a great experience. There were some dealers that didn't quite get it since two offered very little in the way of discount (less than a tank of fuel) preferring to call it a 'good will gesture' because I had picked a model with 'no room for maneuver' which, frankly, I didn't believe. Another dealer (different brand) said that, if I came into the showroom (50 miles away) he could probably do better. I thought that Carwow was supposed to avoid haggling. In the event, I bought a very nice car from a local dealer. It was actually a car that previously I had ignored because I didn't think I could afford it - so win for me, win for the dealer. I'd use Carwow again.

The offers made by the car dealers on the Carwow website can be a bit misleading - beware. So yes, they can give the said amount in discount but it's often not on the specification that you choose. Instead it is often on a 'stock' car with many options you may not want and may not have budgeted for. So in the end the differential in the amount you actually shell out is not that different, you just have more optional extras that you may or may not have wanted in the first place, on a car in perhaps a compromised colour. Just something to bear in mind.
