A nice modern building and fun architecture in a great location, not only the Iconic Tower Bridge but also a great little park to stop for a drink or a bite to eat while soaking up the views. Also public toilets available which is always a bonus.

One of the most photographed constructions in the city and a top contender for the best non straight lined building in the capital. Architects must have enter a competition to find the least square product of the drawing board. There are many of such sites in the area, that it is now difficult to find a regular structure. I wonder which will survive the march of time, like the Tower has.

The Greater London Council (GLC) was the top-tier local government administrative body for Greater London from 1965 to 1986. It replaced the earlier London County Council (LCC) which had covered a much smaller area. The GLC was dissolved in 1986 by the Local Government Act 1985 and its powers were devolved to the London boroughs and other entities. A new administrative body, known as the Greater London Authority (GLA), was established in 2000.

City Hall - The London Assembly Team - Has a newly designed website. I was asked my opinion and I gave it, worts and all! Very impressive turnaround today and 5***** for the informative website All the team are listed, photographed and I was surprised by the transparency, especially listing the salary of a Deputy Mayor. The good 📰🗞️ they actually listen, and respond very well to criticism.

Nice ambience In the old city hall building.This historic property where Bistro 33 and City Hall Tavern occupies was built in 1938. The Spanish Colonial building, once used for a local city hall and fire department and later a police department

Unique design of a building, but nice. Decent cafe and quiet work areas inside. The amphitheater is a lovely spot for a rest or lunch and is accompanied with some great views (HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge). Well worth a visit.

City hall is a lovely place to visit in central London. If you are a tourist or lives in london you will never get bore out of it. City hall is not that far from Tower Bridge and the Shard. It is in walking distance and train station is also very near by. Very live place to be and you will love it. I would love to visit this place again and highly recommended for everyone.

As far as halls go this is one of the best. Some people say architecturally it looks like something inappropriate but I fully disagree. The bloke who runs it seems pretty cool too. The bloke who used to run it seemed like a bit of a wally. All the staff here seem like cool, well branded individuals too. Would visit again.

A great building of public interest which has a cafe on the Lower Ground Floor serving a selection of hot and cold food and drink. There is a great public wifi connection in the building and it has excellent views of Tower Bridge, Tower Hill and other points of interest of London's iconic skyline. There a fab aerial photograph of London which is pretty cool to stand on and find where you are/live.

Lucky to attend a function on top floor courtesy of Boris. Great views all round. Nice buffet & free bar laid on, no doubt at council tax expense. Big, open walkway around outdoor. Really nice to visit.

Lovely place, great views. It took a while to get in due the security checks but after that it was really good. We took the lift to the 9th floor where you a terrace around the building with almost a 360° view. You can see from here the Shard, Tower of London, London Bridge and many other places of interest.

Voting for a new London Mayor soon. Not sure about this building, have been inside and how thermally efficient it actually is. Looks quite dull during the Winter but starts to come alive during the summer season, but all of London and the developments seem to rely upon acres of glass to achieve architectural impact. I quite like the old 1960's style of Brutalism with a bit of concrete and sharp edges.

The City Hall is normally closed to public but you can visit this during London Open House which happens every year at the 3rd weekend of September. This is a must visit if you get the opportunity. There is a spiral staircase that is an absolutely marvel of architecture. The view from the top of the hall is also great.

This is the new iconic city Hall building, the home of The Lord Mayor of London. It's an eye catching design that looks like either a wonky eye or a wobbly egg. Whatever it looks like to you you won't forget it when you first see it. Even though it is Beautiful it is still a functional office for the lord Mayor and his staff. As a Titus attraction it has an open air amp theatre situated right in front of it, where members of the public can sit and watch free performances or just sit and relax. The surrounding area is very Titus friendly as toilet s and restaurants and seating and landscaped walking area a surround it. Another must see and enjoy place in the heart of 🇬🇧London near The Tower Bridge and the Tower of London Castle.

Great views of 'The City' from the Thames Path in front of City Hall. If you are OCD this building will dive you crazy! You just keep wanting to straighten it up! Perfect spot for Instagrammers especially with the awesome 'batman' building next to it.

Came to the Mayor of London Young entrepreneurs competition. The place is very nice and looks extremely professional. It is very well placed close to the City overlooking Tower Bridge and the River Thames. Would recommend a visit. Also the staff are very nice!

City Hall is the headquarters of the Greater London Authority (GLA), which comprises the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. It is located in Southwark, on the south bank of the River Thames near Tower Bridge. It was designed by Norman Foster and opened in July 2002, two years after the Greater London Authority was created. The building is located on the River Thames in the London Borough of Southwark, as part of the extended pedestrianised South Bank. It forms part of a larger development called More London, including offices and shops. Next to City Hall is a sunken amphitheatre called The Scoop, which is used in the summer months for open-air performances; it is not, however, part of the GLA's jurisdiction. The Scoop and surrounding landscape were designed by Townshend Landscape Architects. The nearest London Underground and National Rail station is London Bridge. The building has an unusual, bulbous shape, purportedly intended to reduce its surface area and thus improve energy efficiency, although the excess energy consumption caused by the exclusive use of glass (in a double facade) overwhelms the benefit of shape. Despite claiming the building "demonstrates the potential for a sustainable, virtually non-polluting public building",[7] energy use measurements have shown this building to be fairly inefficient in terms of energy use (375 kWh/m2/yr), with a 2012 Display Energy Performance Certificate rating of "E".[8] It has been compared variously to a helmet (either Darth Vader's or simply a motorcyclist's), a misshapen egg, and a woodlouse. Former mayor Ken Livingstone referred to it as a "glass testicle",[9][10] while his successor, Boris Johnson, made the same comparison using a different word, "The Glass Gonad"[11] and more politely as "The Onion". Its designers reportedly saw it as a giant sphere hanging over the Thames, but opted for a more conventionally rooted building instead. It has no front or back in conventional terms but derives its shape from a modified sphere. A 500-metre (1,640 ft) helical walkway ascends the full ten stories. At the top is an exhibition and meeting space called "London's Living Room", with an open viewing deck which is occasionally open to the public. The walkway provides views of the interior of the building, and is intended to symbolise transparency; a similar device was used by Foster in his design for the rebuilt Reichstag (parliament), when Germany's capital was moved back to Berlin. In 2006 it was announced that photovoltaic cells would be fitted to the building by the London Climate Change Agency. The council chamber is located at the bottom of the helical stairway. The seats and desks for Assembly Members are arranged in a circular form (like the Round Table) with no clearly defined "head", podium, or chair where a speaker, council chairperson, or mayor might be seated. Raised tiers of seats for visitors or observers are located to one side.

It's a nice building, but gets deducted points for being on private land, rather than public, meaning the company that manages it can evict protesters or basically anyone for any reason.

It's a stunning pice of architecture and houses the office of the mayor of London. Part of it is open to the public on Monday - Friday from 08:30 - 18:00 and on Friday from 08:30 - 17:30. It has great views out to the river thames and tower bridge and also of the tower of London.
