It's great to have a local cinema, and the vibe is really pleasant, but projecting the movies without filling the screen? At first I thought it was just for the commercials but then... I can't help but notice how disappointed I was when the movie started leaving a good 20-30% of the real state unused.
We go to the big screen for a reason, so I expect the theater to at least make the most of what they have.

Greatest cinema in South London. Hands down.
Great prices, comfortable seats. Good drinks & snacks.
Go along & support your local independent cinema!!
S. M.
This is a really nice cinema! It has a bar if you feel like waiting before/after the movie and in general, it has a nice vibe with a friendly staff. Will be back!
l. l.
Cozy comfy cinema with bar and extra downstairs space/seats. 'Old gang' staff, who's been there for years and years. Feels like family.
L. S.
Wonderful staff, comfortable seating, great selection of drinks and snacks showing all the box office hits with plenty of other, more interesting offerings too.
L. F.
Very comfortable cosy cinema. Good clean loos. Nice bar area. Good public transport nearby.
E. G.
Comfy cinema seats and not too crowded. Very reasonably priced tickets too, if you go on a weekday afternoon! Enjoyed watching the new Bond movie here.
T. B.
Cosy cinema with a friendly family vibe. Some seating not ideal (eg screen 3 raking too mild) but overall a good place to enjoy a movie and a drink.
c. e.
It’s nestled in a nice pedestrian Only setting with a bring your snacks policy for the kids on a sat morning. They let the kids be kids here and have little q&a’s on stage after the movie for the kids to test there memory on the movie. Overall the place is decent with a quirky look. The restrooms could do with a refurb. Fresh Coffee really good. Like most cinemas these days, pricey confectionery counter. If you live in clapham and have kids it’s a good shout with a £2 movie ticket for your kid on a sat morning. Loads of food and drink places nearby.

Our second visit to a Picturehouse Cinema, first being West Norwood (Another must visit) and this one also, did not disappoint. We went to see 'Le Mans 66' and what a thriller it was, highly recommended to see!
The cinema itself is just a walk around the corner from Clapham Common Underground station. Clapham as a location offers a lot, especially on the Northern Line which hosts an array of crucial South London Hot Spots and is ideal. An excellent location if your thinking of eating out before, as there is plenty around, which offers enough for everyone to choose.
As you walk in, there is a bar area on the left with a seating area or straight ahead is where the popcorn and other treats served.
Remember if you have a taste card, as an example if there is three of you, it works out that you get 3 🎫 for the price of 2️⃣ = Ideal all round 😉
We give it, solid A*****

If there is a cinema from the books, this is the one. From the outside look, up until the screen hall's.
The smell of popcorn and overall interior are the shear essence of cinema atmosphere.
The screaning theatre is wide and comfortable with amazing reclining seats.
In combination with good movie, this is must have experience. That is my place!
C. F.
Great releases, friendly staff, screening rooms lovely and intimate, Good array of drinks and nibbles. A lovely experience.
V. I.
Really nice and very comfortable small cinema with good sound and great picture quality!
There is a bar and you can have a drink or a coffee!
Good service and reasonable prices!
P. H.
Had a fabulous trip to the cinema x super bar area. Real treat
T.
A good cinema, with good service and a brilliant Monday discount. One of the only cinemas I go to!
C. C.
Great cinema but now very expensive. Good you can bring a beer in!
L. P.
Nice little cinema , it wasn't busy when we went so practically had the whole screen to ourselves . Reasonable price and right opposite Clapham common so you can always extend your day and take a wonder over there aswell .
R. S.
Lovely cinema in a great area for an evening
R. C.
Love my local pitcher house, warm intimate cosy vibes. Great membership deals on food and beverages and discounted movies. Very pleased to have this on my doorstep. Staff are always friendly and up for a chat. Customers around 2x month on average. Total movie and wine geek. 👍
J. H.
Had a fantastic evening watching a film here a few weeks ago. Brilliant character as well and friendly staff! The friend I went with is a member so it was great value too. I'll definitely be back.
D. A.
Convenient for me as near Tooting Broadway but always problems with the picture quality on screens. Needs to be managed better as pales in comparison to Ritzy and Picturehouse Central.
N. C.
Love going to Clapham Picturehouse and so happy it is open again. Always friendly and welcoming,, great to be able to take a drink into the film. Seats comfy and well spaced
E. A.
It feels intimate and immersive. Pubs and restaurants being literally next door certainly helps to plan a great outing.
c.
Brilliant venue, very comfortable seats and amazing sound!
H. W.
Great cinema, my only gripe is that the chairs are on the narrow side but do recline so that does kind of help.
A. G.
Nice place to have a drink and watch a film
J. A. N.
Really nice and cosy cinema. Well allocated. Quiet street with really nice restaurants as soon as you get out or before your film. They also have a Cinema bar and outdoor seating. The screen, audio and seating is A+, no complaints. Well organised covid-wise. You should wear a mask and they have allocated seating to maintain social distance between attendees
F. T.
Quint little cinema house reminder of bygone era attracting small group of people looking for tranquility avoiding noisy crowd. Good selection of pies served at the bar. Casual and unfuss. Very popular with the locals who wants to avoid big noisy cinema. Overall a very relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff and polite services, we certainly will come back again.
A. O.
Small but perfect cinema.
N.
The place has a very nice atmosphere, and feels much more welcoming than the large multiplex cinemas. The staff is friendly and relaxed. There is a bar with a large selection of wines and yummy warm pies.
J. B.
Brilliant place to visit, really friendly atmosphere and they achieve the almost impossible by not letting you feel like you are being held Ransome to the snack god's! Beautiful layout of the screening areas. Great with huge sound stage. I would recommend coming here during the week for a super chilled to catch the latest blockbuster, or enjoy the more arthouse movies if you fancy becoming a member!
M. C.
Would go here over giving money to the big boys anyday, take your pint in with you to the movie aswell.
C. B.
Great little cinema, with big and small screens. On Monday's they offer a cheaper ticket. The bar food isn't an amazing menu but outside on the pedestrianised street there are plenty of eateries. There is often a big queue for snacks right before the films starts and the food/snack counter is pretty small so be warned, give yourself time.
c. j.
The cinema is really good as an experience goes. The only reason for the three star review is the access arrangements for less able persons (there is currently no lift). Positives: air conditioning, Comfy, spacious seats, student discount and a good food concession and bar make this a much better alternative to the equivalent generic Odeon's and Cineworld if you don't have anyone who uses wheelchairs/sticks. Staff friendly and accommodating where possible. Very centrally located to Clapham common restaurants and bars.
R. L.
Bijou cinema complex in the heart of Clapham with the usual excellent mix of Picturehouse films. Good points: good sound and projection systems, and they turn the lights right down for films in the auditoriums. Less good: limited toilets - two up and two down as far as I could see.
D.
Very nice atmosphere, chatty and friendly staff. The seats inside recline and are very comfortable. If you book in advance you can skip the queue and walk straight in without printing your tickets, as long as you show your booking confirmation on your phone. This cinema attracts a very chilled audience.
B. K.
A great ecologically friendly place to visit for me, you, all the family, your pet goat and anyone else you choose to go on an outing with. They rent out the screens and I rather thought it would be fun to have a birthday party there. It's not a difficult place to get to because it's close to lots of tube and train stations. One warning though. Like every cinema it's overpriced so it might be better to either get a membership or better still wait till the film comes out on DVD.
S. T. R.
I love this little cinema. I have been going there since I was a child. They have always been friendly and where else can you get reclining seats at the cinema! Just remember it's only screen one that has them so book wisely! I thoroughly recommend this place, especially for families as it's has great programmes for kids and also a student plan of some sort. Check it out, you won't regret it!
S. G.
Great little cinema. The screen size and room were small relative to other bigger name cinemas but with the immersive sound and short distance from chair to screen it doesn't detract from the film.
C. T.
Been going here for years, it retains a lovely charm and character to it, I guess you'd describe it more as a traditional cinema than boutique, but it's definitely far removed from the large chains. The best screens are 1 and 2, you'll generally have no problems with seeing the screen, screens 3 and 4 can be an issue if you get someone tall ahead of you due to the low gradient. Annual membership is great value.
T. T.
We love this cinema (mostly cos you can take wine into the screen) 😉 service is sometimes lacking and it was a bit annoying when we could take our pies up into the cinema. Some of the screens are a bit small so it's better to sit closer. Overall still our fave cinema though.
E. G.
Despite the name Picturehouse is a modern cinema with lovely plush seats, a great film selection, the facilities are well maintained and clean and the staff always on hand to help. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. We particularly like the wide range of affordable drinks and snacks on offer (you must try the homemade ice cream!) and the fact that the place is so comfortable. We visit approximately once a month and it has become a favourite evening out spot for us. We can’t recommend the Picturehouse high enough.
A. M.
Lovely old fashioned cinema with about 5 screens. Comfortable seats, smallish rooms and screens. Comfortable rather cluttered entrance with bar where you can get drinks and some food to bring into films. Helpful, friendly staff. Very busy at weekends, essential to book films. Very conveniently positioned in a small pedestrian street with restaurants opposite and around, and very near Clapham Common tube station. Clapham High Street, 2 minutes walk, heaving with bars and restaurants of every type. Also many shops, and of course, the Common.
N. B.
Absolutely love this cinema! All the staff are friendly and accommodating, the cinemas always clean and cosy and the confectionery stand full of variety. Being a member of Picturehouse cinemas allows for previews and Vintage Sunday specials at reduced costs which I love.
K. H.
So much more pleasant an experience than at the big chain cinemas. It is genuinely very pleasant, comfy seats, good screens, nice location, helpful/friendly people, and no more extortionate than other cinemas.
If you go at all regularly I'd highly recommend membership too (student member here); that couple of quid off tickets makes a difference, and there's the odd other bonus screening for members here and there too.
I've concluded that of the four screens, screen 2 is the best: both 1 & 2 have better sound systems than the smaller screens, and 2 has a really good gradient to the seating. That bloke who must be at least 6'6 that just walked in, and of course, of all the empty seats, he goes and sits right in front of you. In screen 2, no worries, shouldn't block your view at all. Top tip for you there.
E. P.
Don’t get me wrong, I much prefer the smaller cinemas to the giant dirty complexes (and the choice in SW London isn’t great). But the quality of sound and difficulty of seeing over the person in front of you isn’t worth it here. We also had a light above us which wasn’t fully off during the show.
On the plus side it’s clean and there’s a nice bar. If you do go, sit in the middle and hope no one tall is in the row before you. But Rixy in Brixton much better.
K. N.
A great little cinema. Very comfortable seats with the added bonus of being able to have a drink while watching the movie. Nice little bar area and if you become a member you recieve a percentage off all purchases as well as free tickets.
So well worth your while if you watch a couple of movies regularly.
R. D.
This is the best place in London to watch films. It is. It just is. Book your ticket and enjoy. Enjoy a nice (alcoholic) drink before hand, take it in with you, to the comfortable seating in an intimate environment away from the garish loudness of the main big cinema chains. Only downside is their sound technology isn't the best (although it isn't bad).
K. G.
Great local cinema with a range of screens. Reclining chairs with space for a glass of wine, beer or soft drink. A more civilised experience than the huge cinema complexes. Good selection of films (from art house to popular) and screenings and talks. Pies, cakes and snacks available too.
R. J.
One of my favourite cinemas in London. It is quite simple theatre with 4 screens but is very popular. If you have a picturehouse membership then you will have discount on the drinks and food in the bar as well. I also love the layback seats in the big screen. In addition, I'm not very fond of the smaller screening halls with little leg space and tiny screens. Overall highly recommended.
D. S.
Great cinema. You can book seats at no extra cost, tickets aren't overpriced and the staff are friendly. Decent, well-priced bar, and you can take your drinks into the screen. I always go here rather than the Americanised chains if they're showing what I want to see.
N. I.
Family friendly local cinema. You can even take under 1 year old to see the latest films. It's not completely dark, so you can still check on babies. The sound is reduced too. Changing table is available on the ground floor. Parents got free coffee too :)
Really comfy seat. Friendly staff.
L. H.
I visit london 4/5 times a year and visit here. Always good choice of films of different genres, something for everyone. My friend and i are 65 and over and have discounted Silver cards. Cant remember price last time i went but excellent value as it includes free tea or coffee and biscuits. Also has a bar and you may take your drink into screening so all in all a very enjoyable experience.
r. h.
This is a place my mother has taken me and my sister to catch a quick film is was itching to see. I had to admit it was lush. I loved it so much as the seats recline and when you look up, it is as if the room is filled with starts. It was amazing. It sets it apart from other cinemas as it was one of the most comfortable experiences I have had to watch a film. Its a little expensive but it is worth the money and could be ideal for an intimate date and there is a selection of places to eat along the same street that the cinema is on
A. N.
Nice traditional feel to this place. We bought our tickets online on the day and was able to walk in straight off the street and into our seats, didn't actually have much interaction with the staff, really. Would maybe include going to Venn street market just outside for a quick lunch
P. K.
Fantastic little theater with a good bar and a few dinner options. Decent whiskeys and wines, good coffee, a few desserts. We always come early and get a drink (and you can take your drink into the movie with you). The line for candy and popcorn can get long, so queue ahead of time.
The screens are not all the same size, pay close attention to detail. Screen 4 is small and cozy, sit near the front. Screen 2 is large and the seats have cupholders, sit halfway to two thirds back.
L. K.
I love this cinema. It always has a good selection of movies. You can get yourself a nice beer or glass of wine from the bar and enjoy it with the movie. It's in a good location if you want to go for a bite before or after your film.
G. H.
Amazing. Cosy with a good bar, the best popcorn you'll ever taste, and a great selection of old movies that are fun to see on the big screen. I love being able to take a pint or bottle of wine in to the screen. This makes a perfect date location.
D. W.
We had the pie and mash which was reasonable but it cost £18 for 2 glasses of wine. 250ml. Not as good as the best traditional pie and mash we have previous had in London and definitely more expensive.
Would I come back? Probably not.... The bar staff were efficient and functional.
D. L.
One of the best cinemas in London. Great bar, comfy seats and excellent atmosphere. Alcoholic drinks are relatively expensive, but that's to be expected in a cinema and not wildly outside the norm for London
W. R. (.
This is a great little cinema offering a decent range of blockbuster and independent films. The membership card is also worthwhile, offering you free tickets equivalent to the value of the ticket, and you can even get a couples version. When we lived nearby, this little place used to fill those dark evenings!
k. k.
Lovely cinema, all the staff were friendly and helpful. Beautiful decor and lots of food to choose from. The screen I when into had comfy chairs, good picture and sound quality, well ventilated. They show studio Ghibli films on the weekend atm which is a bonus. I highly recommend going, this independent cinema stands up again odeon and my old favourite, Cineworld!
T. P.
Small and simple cinema that have good offers and deals all week round. Service is always nice enough too.
Only negative is that they only seem to post their schedule a week in advance - bit annoying, especially as the vast majority of cinemas do not operate like that.
S. H.
Nice wee cinema. It was pricey, and there aren’t a lot of screens but it’s in a great location and handy for the tube. Friendly staff and nice cosy vibe
R.
Good solid cinema. I find that the proliferation of Odeon's are inflating the cost of cinema tickets considerably. Picture house is generally a few quid cheaper than an Odeon and the layout is much more preferable. There are far better seats and I love being able to take a beer into a theatre. All in all a really enjoyable cinema experience.
S. M.
Right at the heart of trendy Clapham High Street, this cosy and quaint cinema is a gem. Surrounded by great places to go to eat and drink after a good movie, you will keep coming back. Friendly staff and a bar with terrace makes this place great for everyone.
J. L.
Priced as you'd expect for a London cinema but if you feel like splashing out on a trip to the big screen this is the one to go for. Comfy seats, nice bar and good sound quality that manages the gain on louder action parts well.
n. v.
Found this cinema to be great as it's very conveniently situated for a movie after work! Especially on a Wednesday as they accept Orange Wednesdays! And if that’s not enough they allow you to take your alcohol beverage you bought in their adjoining bar into the cinema, the seats are comfortable and the screens are big. One of my favorite cinema’s in London.
T. D.
This quirky little cinema is a nice break from the bigger chain cinemas found throughout London. The bar at the venue was very good and there was no queue. If you like the big shiny clean cut cinemas don't come here but if you want something cheap and fun with a lot of character I can't recommend anywhere better in London.
F. S.
Best cinema in the area by far, wine and beer selection is great and you can get proper glasses to take into the screening. Comfortable, in some cases reclining seats and very good sound.
g. w.
Easy to find, was very comfortable and clean
N. H.
A beautiful small and quaint cinema where I went to see the Yellow Submarine. really friendly staff nice atmosphere and enjoyable film. it may not be the largest screen in the world but it makes up for it in character.
S. S.
Great attitude and ethos. Staff are great and tickets are reasonably priced. Just a shame it's in Clapham! Came out of a late showing of 'It Chapter 2' which finished at midnight on a Saturday night - was like being dropped directly into hell.
J. M.
A nice sized cinima showing a good selection of films. The bar is often busy, but the service is never slow. Plus you can take a proper glass of wine in with you.
M. R.
A great little cinema that we much prefer to watch a film at over the chain cinemas.
The seats are comfortable and its great that you can take a glass of wine or beer from the bar into the cinema to watch the film.
They do some great popcorn flavours to
L. K.
Pleasant cinema.
Some signs of disrepair - seats probably not acceptable cleanliness to a clean freak person
cleaner than seats on public transport less clean than The Electric/ high end sofa cinema.
Seats not uncomfortable.
quite small screens.
Alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks served at the bar.
JoeSephs popcorn sold and some sort of independent honeycomb sweets.
Sweet and salt fresh popcorn.
Restrooms clean ish water on the floor?due to small sink to cubicle ratio?
Circa 15 pounds per person for a film.
E. A.
It feels great coming to a local cinema - okay it might still be a chain, but it feels more grounded, cooler and like it could be your very own! The seats are nice and squishy, especially in the big screen, the one with all the twinkly fairy lights built into the ceiling! The tickets are reasonable, and the membership seems like it would work out really well if you go that much. I like that they show cult films like The Princess Bride and quirky/unusual documentaries too that you don't get to see at a big cinema chain. I went to see yoga documentary Breath of the Gods and it was so refreshing to see something different. #Irishtini
V. P.
Love this movie theatre. It’s small, service is great and you can have a delicious quick bite to eat before or after the movie. You can also take your drinks inside with you. It’s perfect !
M. B.
Excellent. Movie good ,staff freindly and very clean and tidy
S. P.
Love Clapham picture house! Small and intimate vibe
J. F.
I find this cinema so cosy, the location is down a cobbled street with a nice selection of restaurants. It's small unfortunately but I can't complain because it's so local to me. The bar is lovely too.
D. d. C.
We LOVE our local Picture House...daytime! Plenty of space away from evenings or weekends and TOP films always. (Rarely silly blockbusters, so refreshing). Very lucky to live nearby.
D. B.
Best cinema in Clapham. I jest, it's the only cinema in Clapham, great film selection for the film geeks amongst us, as well as the lates features. Love they always have a Studio Ghibli thing coming up. I just hope they pay their wonderful staff what they deserve.
J. C.
Comfy reclining seats (screen 1 only), good choice of drinks (inc alcohol) and food and great films. Our fave local cinema.
T. B.
Love this cinema. Comfortable seating and great bar and good loos. We are now members which is very worthwhile and good value if you enjoy film.
D. K.
This is probably my favourite cinema that I've ever been to. Feels very traditional as soon as you walk in. The main screen is brilliant and the smaller screens feel very traditional. Good snacks and lovely restaurants around. Must visit
S. M.
I have been coming here on and off for years. Recently over this year l have been attending special screenings.
Love the place, staff friendly and welcoming. Good food and good selection of booze on offer. Its in the heart of Clapham near underground.
A. B.
Beautiful cinema to watch a film at and I love the fact I have an alcoholic beverage whilst I watch a film. Really enjoyable experience.
B. C.
Friendly, good seats. However, due to the building structure there is no lifts which makes it impossible for someone in a wheelchair to get to the top screens. My is elderly mum walks with a walking stick she manages to eventually he up the stairs but, it's not ideal.
J. M.
A local cinema that beats the pants off any "high street" cinema you have ever been to. Comfy chairs, great staff, you can even take a beer in to the movie from their bar. Good prices for London and the general crowd is lovely too. No kids throwing popcorn in your hair from the back row :-)
H. V.
Great local cinema, have visited both alone and as a teacher bringing a class of children. The welcome and service was impeccable in both scenarios. A fantastic range of films, both blockbusters and smaller titles. Fantastic!
D. P.
Another amazing picturehouse cinema! Great screen, not the biggest obviously but the room is very well designed. The stary ceiling is also a lovely touch, really makes you feel like you're somwhere else. Great craft beer selection and friendly staff as always :)
J. R.
I went with my little 2yo charge and she loved it , tbh I did too, 1 min walk from the tube station, very nice and cozy and we stayed for a hot chocolate afterwards, we could have easily stayed for lunch as we liked the place , it feels homie , we have added Toddler Time as part of our weekly routine now!
D. B.
I mainly use the cafe. They have Awesome staff, never been made to feel so welcome. Can't get enough of the place and nor can my parents! They have a good selection of cold, hot non and alcoholic drinks.
A. C.
It's a little expensive, but you get what you pay for. The chairs are comfortable, the mien is good and the cinema provides a pleasant overall experience. Definitely worth forking out the additional money for a ticket!
R. C.
Spend a movie evening with friends. That's what it feels like at our local Picturehouse. A bar, a lounge a place to relax. To sit and chat. To sit and read a book. Oh, and a great place to watch great movies.
M. F.
Better than the average Picturehouse experience. Lovely staff -- some with more grey hair than me! Nice atmosphere, good coffee.
B. A.
Great cinema ! The seats are comfortable and the popcorn is always freshly popped and very tasty. The screens are not so big, but the picture quality is amazing. Helpful staff and reasonable prices.
D. R.
A cinema where you can drink a beer while watching the move (without having to decant to a plastic cup) is always a winner for me!
OK slightly more expensive than a normal cinema but worth it.
Not too impressed with the 3D but generally don;t like 3D anyway. Only other minor gripe is that the safety lights when the films start are just a little to bright. But safety first I guess ;-)
S.
My favourite cinema in London! Comfortable seats and they run films other than the usual Hollywood fodder (they do these too though). The lesser screens are quite small though.
D. C.
Independent cinema that served really good pork scratchings! Lol.. hot and cold food available, selection of beers and cider too. movie theatre relatively small, can be considered cosy but by no means does it take away from the experience. Cool art on the walls.
E.
Like this cinema got a bar with a screen. 4 screens some big some small. One has reclining seats. Pricy food so get snacks from the londis next door. Good transport links and restaurants near by.
L. H.
It's ok, the selection of movies is the only appealing thing about this cinema. The actual experience is lacking. Seating is uncomfortable, cramped, bad air conditioning, some screens are very small.
M. N.
Nice local arthouse cinema unlike the impersonal multiplex chains and more appealing to people no longer in their teens. Their membership deal is certainly worth it. Interesting special screenings. Projection equipment could use some improvement.
R. B. C.
Great selection of films showing throughout the afternoon and evening. Prices are reasonable with concessions for students and the elderly. Decent projection with excellent sound quality.
d. a.
I love this cinema so much and i would recommend to anyone who wants to see a good movie, eat and drink and the way he way they welcome you into the cinema is amazing.
Don't trust me. go see it for yourselves.
I highly recommend using this cinema.
V. M.
Nice local, boutique cinema. Sometimes seats can be a little odd but really conveniently located off the high street so it can't be beat! There is also a bar if you fancy something hard than a soda
T. F.
Very nice little cinema in the heart of Clapham. Friendly staff and a good selection of movies. Also right next to some nice bars and restaurants. So go watch a movie and after that the evening is sorted.
F. T. P.
Great local cinema. Picture house card is well worth getting, especially as a student. Make sure to grab a glass of water from the bar before going into the film if you are thirsty.
E. P.
This is a great indie style of cinema allowing you to take beer like in Pulp Fiction except you dont have to be in Amsterdam!!! I am bit tired of Odeon cinema with no personally and not offering anymore than being to watch the movie. The decor and feeling is great and Clapham Common is nice area to be in. Highly recommend!!!
d. o.
Clapham picture house is awesome, not only do they show all of the new mainly release but they also show most of the independent films. On top of that it is a lot better value for money that your main stream cinemas like the cue or Odeon. You get a much better cinematic experience ans that's not just because you get to drink wine in there.
Get there early or order you tickets in advance because tickets sell out quickly.
M. L.
Great place to watch movies. The bar is good for meeting up before or having a chat afterwards to discuss one of the latest films or one of their more creative offerings. Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable too.
C. T.
Beautiful location and great cocktails
E. A.
Was a great time. Was here on a school trip for the Autism screening. The kids really enjoyed the movie and it was nice that they were free to make a litltle noise and move about. Staff also very friendly and helpful
I. M.
Nice cinema. 4 screens in total. The café has nice selection of drinks (any kind). It has a good deal (cinema tickets + burger) with honest burger, just opposite the cinema
S. L. G.
Love this little place. Enjoy it every time I come. The only down side I believe is that the seating is fixed so if you are a plus size person ( maybe size 24 and up) you may not fit the seats.
J. K.
Cheap tickets compared to the chains like Cineworld and Odeon.
Been a couple times, most recently to see La La Land.
The only critique I have is that on my last visit cinema was way too warm and I found myself struggling to stay awake.
K. S.
Great cinema, good seating. Nice Pieminister foods next to the bar for a pre-screen meal. Bring your drink into the cinema, no problem. Really nice staff
A. L.
Amazingly cozy and welcoming venue, the staff is very nice and helpful. Even went as far as giving us an easter egg when we came to claim our seats. Will definitely be visiting again and would recommend to anyone.
G. D. (.
The picturehouse hosted 'An Inconvenient Truth 2' with the producers for my school children. The picturehouse has character and style. Staff were polite and helpful. The film was both educational and the discussion after was positive. A well organised and a great experience for all.
B. D.
Nice cinema with big comfy chairs. Beer and wine available at the bar. Best deal is to go to honest burger across from the theater and get the burger and a movie deal. Only good sun-thurs though.
R. J. S. N.
Good independent cinema with nice bar. Of going to 3D sessions, be prepared to buy your glasses or bring your own as they are not included in the ticket price.
J. B.
Small cinema with a great bar, nicer atmosphere than other cinemas in southwest London. Always enjoy coming here - it's nice to be able to have a pint during the film!
B. T.
Small venue with great offers. The seats are at a very good rake, but the leg room was a little lacking for myself, and seats are general admission. Very good value.
M. S.
Really nice plush seats and runs like clockwork. Always has lots of variety from new releases, to arthouse, to old classics. Something for every film buff here. Clean and we'll located.
D. G.
Really nice movie house. They don't have 3d or anything like that, but they do have super comfortable chairs and alot of space so you can lean back and watch without disturbing anyone else or having anyone in your lap.
B. F.
Great independent cinema with a nice community feel. Good bar area to meet before hand and you can take your drinks in with you when you watch the film.
M. M.
Such a quaint cinema and bar. Love the fact you can take drinks into the movie.
Main cinema has a star studded ceiling which gives a lovely atmosphere. Seats are comfy and reclining - super cumfy mumfy
R. B.
Fortuitously found ourselves at the picturehouse. Love it so much. Proper, fresh popcorn, beer and genuinely friendly staff. Seats and screen are what I consider to be art House experience, just wish I lived closer so that I could justify going more often.
G. B.
Decent place, quite expensive but thats london. Nice that you can get a beer. Avoid screen 3 where you can as its in need of some investment and possibly a clean- the smell took some getting used to.
B. B.
Great little cinema. Comfortable seats and never crowded rooms. Too bad that not always they play new releases.
T. W.
Being members allow us some free tickets, discount on drinks and snacks bought there. The fact you can take your glass of bubbly or beer in with you is an added bonus
K. T.
Very pleasant and friendly staff indeed , the layout and decor , brilliant , food seem's reasonable. I loved this place , l highly recommend this Quant charming venue , best in clapham by far thumbs up 100 star's .
A. M.
Part of the Picturehouses chain, it's good value if you're a member. The bar here is characterful for a cinema and quite thriving. Recommended over a soulless multiplex any day.
R. G.
Four small screen rooms but very unique small chain of cinemas. The chairs are comfy and you can take wine from their bar into the screens, but it is relatively expensive.
N. L.
Comfy chairs! First thing in mind. Well located Cinema offering the daring films to hit London. A bar and a few screens gives a full mark to this picture house. Situ on a pedestrianised Street, bars and restaurants spoils you for choice. Close to the Underground Station, you don't need to drive. Just drink and enjoy the diversity Clapham offers you.
M. T.
A cinema experience worth actually paying for. A feel for what these things used to be before they got Odeon-ised. Try one of the special screenings with a theme if you can -- packed atmosphere and great fun.
B. M.
Friendly staff comfortable seating
L. H.
This is such a great cinema, with great staff and a great atmosphere, it was our first time back at the cinema since lockdown and it was a great experience
D. W.
A welcoming place. Nice to know you can get food and drinks here beyond the usual cinema popcorn etc. It's quite old fashioned, low seating and small screens - almost like being at home watching tv.
S. M.
Staff are really welcoming, very comfortable seating with decent screens, also a great place to go if you are considering to bring your baby or toddler to see a cartoon or tv show on the big screen
D. M.
Small but great atmosphere
F. A.
Staff are really helpful and informative! I love that the seating at the back (of the cinema) is kind of like a two seater chair; Perfect for couples or besties 😋
A. W.
Great cinema that let's you take wine and beer into the screens. Very clean screens and lovely staff.
S. K.
Lovely cinema went with 4 kids and we loved it they had friendly staff, good comfy seats and great popcorn some popcorn spilled but the workers didn't do anything but smile and clean the mess up
A.
Our favourite cinema in South London!
M. S.
One of the biggest competitive advantages/disadvantages of movie theatres are their ticket prices. Atleast my price sensitivity is quite high for movie theatres. It seems Clapham picturehouse has jacked up its prices by quite a lot lately. I remember being a member, I used to watch movies for 4 quid on Monday evenings. Now the least I have to shell out is 7 quid. (That is when I have taken a 35 pound annual membership). I am terribly pissed, and have cut my rating from 5 to 3 stars.
Having said that, the reclining seats are nice, and the theatre is conveniently located.
H. M.
Best cinema I've ever been to, shows all the big new releases, good beer, amazing pie minister pies and comfy reclinable seats. Wouldn't go anywhere else!
p.
Lovely little cinema. Fantastic staff 😁
R. C.
I would prefer it any time. I don't know about you but a I'm fed up with the big chains, all the hustle and crowds and they still show only new releases. This one is a vary cosy and small cinema compared to the others in the area, they show some great films, including international productions. I recently watched one about Leonardo Da Vinci and loved it. Highly recommend you head out and watch it yourself.
S. S.
Great local cinema nice comfy seats. Only thing missing for me is hot dogs - like a bit of grub while enjoying the film.
L. H. (.
Quaint little cinema, comfy seats and decent pricing. The surround sound for my viewing of the lion king really contributed a lot to the experience.
S.
It's was alright. No cup holders unfortunately. Small screen. Other than that it's fine. Has a pub like atmosphere.
V. C.
Good place to watch a movie. The screen we went was too small and there was no air extraction but overall was a nice experience . Would recommend.
N. L.
Independent cineama in central Clapham. Part of Picturehouse group. Good range of new releases plus retro classics, live opera/theatre screenings and special showings e.g for older people, kid-friendly etc. Membership scheme discounts. Bar & food.
J. T.
Really nice and humble place to see a film - feels like the place is for the passion of films rather than to make money. Awesome 🤙
J. S.
Clapham Picturehouse is a lovely little cinema and they host lots of different unique events. I like to have a couple of pints in the bar. It's a nice change from the big chains.
M. L.
Lovely art house cinema. Small, intimate and clean. A good range of movies, with increased focus given to the non Hollywood flicks.
A. P.
Great Cinema. Small and cosy. Very clean. Definitely will be coming back again. Friendly stuff.
C. H.
Great food a drinks that you can take into the cinema with you. It's also nice to give your money to an independent rather than the massive cinema chains.
T. H.
Very comfortable reclining seats, good bar and cafe. Venn Street had a great choice of eating places
L. V.
Good little cinema, pricing abit more down to earth then other cinemas in the area. The seating was an issue as the seating position is very low.
A. W.
Nice little spot for a good film, both old and new. Lovely to be able to have a proper drink with your film and good places for food right across the road before hand.
R. J.
Lovely find in Clapham. Good old fashioned friendly service. Good prices. Multiple smallish screen rooms with modern screens. Nice bar attached.
H. H.
Lovely old fashioned cinema with about loads of screens. Comfortable seats
Good facilities and good service!!
H. H.
This is such a great cinema with a local atmosphere that you don't often find. Some more obscure showings which is great. They also do Meerkat movies - winning!
J. W.
Really nice and cosy cinema. Staff members are really friendly and helpful. So you can sit back and enjoy the movie.
B. L.
I felt that the staff treated me and my family very well. It was comfortable but it was rather dissopointing that the movie, exodus and excuse my awful spelling, was sub par. This was a lovely experience.
B. R.
Excellent range of films, from arthouse to big budget. Nice screens of different sizes. Only problem is they sometimes have problems with air conditioning!
T. B.
Buzzing in the sun.. Many places to eat. Common and paddling pool good
S. C.
Fantastic cinema. Friendly staff and ideal sized screens. Very plush seats too!
T. J. R.
Nice relaxed vibe and feels like your nice local cinema used to - don’t come here for super odeon 3D big screens
J. g. g.
Clapham picturehouse is in a very good location: right next to the clapham common tube station. The service is good, they are very knowledgeable about films, both old and new. They also have cool theme nights, and the bar is nice.
a. s.
Great. A cinema that is not only for watching a film but for the atmosphere of the building itself. Its old style, retro approach makes the Clapham picture house always fun to visit
F. A.
Really nice intimate cinema with good selection of films and reasonable price. If you go more than once then joining the cinema is completely worth it
A. H.
Living in Streatham Hill it´s often a toss up between the Clapham Picture House and Brixton Ritzy - both are from the same franchise and offer a similar experience. Clapham Picture house is a good cinema with a great sound system, although I have to admit that my fave part is the bar and the fact I can take my freshly poured beer in a glass into the cinema - brilliant!
J. C. (. b. h.
it's a pretty nice cinema but too expensive (like all picture houses). some of the screens aren't that good i feel too
M. W.
Always an enjoyable spot for a flick. Honest burger across the road too which is well worth cancelling your dinner plans for.
R.
Better than the usual cinemas. Much more comfortable. Pretty good picture and sound. Not too big and crowded.
A.
Cool little cinema, clean and we'll presented. Friendly staff and not to expensive.
J. W.
This place rules! They do chalk drawings of the movie posters, whoever does them needs a pay rise! Great indie and art house flicks.
F. J.
Great range of films, super comfy seats and nice selection of snacks. Awesome little independent cinema.
V. C.
So glad this place is opened again
S. M.
Love this place. Great for films and drinks although sometimes a little smelly otherwise I'd give it 5 stars
P. -. A. A.
Have been there a few times with dates. The place is very nice and the good thing is you can bring alcoholic beverages inside the cinema.
A. T.
Great local cinema, with good size screens in the two large auditoriums. Food is served and it has a bar.
B. B.
Great cinema, although screens are quite small. Good bar and selection of snacks!
C. M.
Great independent cinema with a range of films and prices to suit all. Great bar too with an excellent wine selection
K. Y.
Great place to see movies and I recommend the membership! Great discounts especially if you're a student!
R. C.
One of the best cinemas in South London for the range and quality of films, and comfortable cinemas with a good bar too.

B. P.
Nice cost little cinema with comfortable seating and plenty of screens tucked away. Grab yourself a drink from the bar and relax.
K. R.
Always a good vibe, friendly staff and screen 1 with reclining seats is great
R. B.
One of the best cinemas in London. Nice bar, great variety of films, sometimes there is a q+a with a director or an actor.
M. C.
Good selection of films and the pitch of the seats is good so even tall people don't get their heads in the way.
S. B.
A picturehouse where punters have the opportunity to clap slices of ham together. When I went I clapped the ham very loudly and made a great impression upon everyone else there.
P. P.
Great local cinema. Comfy reclining seats, friendly staff and craft beer.
K. E.
Best independent cinema in the capital...friendly staff...great bar and confectionary stands...they do the best cashew nuts in the hemisphere too!

P. A.
Delicious Sunday roast, great brunch menu (your usual eggs and avo and all that) and very decent coffee!!

R. M.
Decent, small cinema in clapham - comfy seats, tiny screens in two of 4 rooms, good selection and cheap during the week.
M. M.
Small screens, and no pick and mix. On that basis alone I'd have to say it's not as good as the other Picturehouses.
D. B.
Nice cosy cinema, alcoholic beverages available during the movie. Great for friends and family.
C. C.
Great small cinema
E. J.
Lovely cinema. We actually had a problem with our tickets and the staff were wonderful and helpful.
S. G.
I love this independent cinema. The bar staff lack smiles but otherwise a perfect evening out.
L. O.
Really helpful team, and good selection of films, lovely little cinema.
D. L.
Multiscreen cinema with a selection of good films but the raking of the seating is less than optimum.

Great place to watch a film. V good atmosphere created by majority audience of genuine film fans

Nice cinema and a decent drinks range, or you could just smuggle your own in like I do.
E. S.
Great place, great film selection with a cool bar/cafe, but the cinema food is ridiculously overpriced.

W. B.
Great film chooses and comfy seats with good snacks
J. B.
Cool vintage look, I went to a screening of "Barry Lyndon" and was disappointed both by the screen size and the resolution of the projection, but it may well be that it wasn't shown on a larger screen because of the poor turnout.
