Reviews of Drapers Field Recreation Ground
C. M.
One of my preferred park...is big enough and clean. Lot of diversity playground and football field.
And the Boxing Academy is an important part of it.
T. L.
Awesome play time here. The children absolutely love it. One of the best slides around. Lots of bumpy running and riding areas. Mini trampolines are popular with the little ones. Plenty of benches for parents to sit watch and wait
K. B.
This is my local park,Drapers park is everything you need it doesn’t matter day or night.
It’s always clean, rich, refreshing. It’s just like you in another dimension of life.
You will find East London Boxing Academy
V. G.
Great place for babies and kids. Nice atmosphere and fantastic playground.
d. v.
Very good for football. Good quality pitch and lighting. The park green space outside the football pitch itself is small.
V. H.
Booked a football pitch recently and the park staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. The lady borrowed us a good ball.
m. k.
Children enjoyed it so much, different play area, and small children with BMX/any bike will enjoy too
H. N.
It used to seem so amazing when I was younger. It's a big area ideal for kids to play in and there's a pitch, but it doesn't me and my friends to get bored of it. The only unique thing about it is the mini trampolines and skate hills.
S.
Was better before when initially opened, standards seem to have dropped. Staff can be moody has if they dont really want to be there. Place itself is awesome, free parking is a bonus. Be aware with younger children easy to escape the park a few entrances not sealed off.
J. S.
Awesome little park, gateway is locked early, but access from the side is always open...
A. S.
I have been only once, but I liked this place. The play area is great, my son loved all these climbing lines and slide. The bumpy trail is a little bit rough. I think it is easy to have an accident there, so better to put helmet on your child. The parking is closed, I think they closed it due to covid and it I no longer park for free place at the moment.
J. N.
This is a review of the football pitches. Top quality pitch / pitches. Goals are in great shape. All round 5 star.
P. a.
Play here most Sundays. Nets been broken for 2 years but the staff are nice
N. B.
Love this place. Kids can have fun whilst you do your jogging or have a picnic with your friends when we have our 5 days of sun 😂
e. B.
On a sunny say its a nice small greens to Apreciate
T. t. T. M.
The bike park is great for all ages and abilities.
R. C.
Its great when is dry but as soon as it gets wet the concrete hills become very dangerous. Car park is free for the park users but people park there and go to Westfield which is about 10 minutes away.
C.
It's a great park if you wanna skate around it, tons of spots to skate in such a small space which is convenient, it would be nice if there were some more bits added specifically for local skaters use, to separate the toddlers from us so there's no collisions.
S. B.
Great playground with loads of activities to do. Just wish they had a little more for toddlers to do. Wish they had signs to find the cubicles though. Especially when potty training the little ones it's very difficult to find a bathroom
L. B.
Beautiful spot for a cheeky spliff on your lunch break from work
T. A.
Very nice open area for children to play. Football pitch also available upon booking. Four small trampolines that are suitable for children from ages 4 onwards
S. A.
Excellent park with free parking
T. C.
This is a lovely open wide space with a fantastic lark and LOVLEY ramps to go up and down rather on a scooter or a bike kids love it
A. S.
Drapers was my old school games pitch and was much less smart in the 90's! The facilities are great for a whole list of things: skateboarding, cycling, children play (probably more suited for the older child) as well as an area of greenfield and a big AstroTurf area.
It is a great place for my children, they can scoot on the "humps" and also play on the items and have a run on the green area.
J. S.
The park is great for kids on their bikes, BUT on the low bits of the ramps there is a massive manhole cover and also a small fountain which you cant see until you hit it, saw a few kids fall on it, not safe that but but the rest of the park is generally good.
Free parking and toilets. : )
M. P.
This place is mostly for kids to enjoy themselves or skate boarders or kids with bikes or little kids in play park and even runners I just needed a bench to relax on after many mile walk
L. C.
A smallish park, but with an excellent area for skating / scooting & an interesting climbing area.
The main draw is a long (150M) concrete wave. The kids like to zoom up and down this almost endlessly. When the park gets busy I'm a little surprised there aren't crashes, but the kids seem to avoid each other.
There are a couple of wooden climbing trees and climbing frames, as well as a swing and one slide. All fairly new and in decent condition.
There is a small car park on the site as well as a cafe.
Not much for the very young, so aged four and up would get the most out of this place.
S. S.
Good fun for myself and the kids
Z.
Impressive wee park. Artificial footy pitch, and heaps fir none football playibg kids. Some parking.
D. P.
Modern artificial sports pitch in good condition. Good modern toilets and changing room. Set within a lovely park landscaped with great play features for children.
Schizophrenic management of the whole park, however. Pitches can be booked until around 9pm but car park used to close at 5pm but maintain pedestrian access!! They were frequently locking cars in and you would only realise after an afternoon of play with your children!!
Now the wisdom appears to be to open the car park until the pitches are actually closed but close all the pedestrian accesses at 5pm!! Pedestrians who use the park as a walking route often have to treble their distance as they walk through the car park entrance, seeing the level of activity and expecting all gates to be open, only to get to the end of the far end of the park and have to walk all the way back through the park and start again!!!!
Someone needs to begin to apply some common sense here.
T. H.
Parking is good, open till 10pm. Pitches are little rough in places. Could be a safety risk of someone trips.
M. R. A.
A good recreational park for younger kids to cycle, scooter, trampoline, slides, climbing apparatus as well as a football pitch. Among a few sparks in local area to have on site parking.
Unfortunately the Beer drinkers and weed smokers are also regular visitors to this park which is a pity!
As a parent, I feel helpless that there's nothing I can do but to keep my kids away from this park like many other local parks due to the weed smokers and beer drinkers. There is a reason why there are restrictions on consumption of such things. Please keep away from young children areas for the sake of their well being and better future which will ensure fantastic next generation for our country.
Z. A.
Great park and facilities for kids and outdoor arena for all.
Pittty someone in council spoiling the fun .they need to realize that stopping families parking their cars in car park is not a best way to curb covid19 ..need to be realistic..
H. E.
It is a nice play for kids from the area to meet and play. My husband and I love foing there to the table tennis table to play ping pong 😍 and this is my daily commute to work everyday and I love the green landscapes and how it is being taken care of.
B. D.
Great place to go out and spend some time with friend or family. The office has a bathroom and helpful staff. There's a playground for younger and older kids. There're cool waves to ride your bike or what ever on them
Z. a. t. f. P.
My kids love this park - great climbing frames, slides and seesaw, mini trampolines, 'rails' and a big undulating run for grinding and riding over with bikes/scooters, a huge grass area for games, footie pitches managed by Better. The cafe is o.k. but not much hot food, toilets and showers/changing (could be cleaner). Downside is the lovely decked area was vandalised and still isn't fixed a good year later, the water feature hasn't worked for several years, and they've taken to unlocking the gates at odd times (esp the car parking which isn't open until 4.30 p.m. now which is just plain weird and quite annoying to those who drive).
A. M.
Relaxing and good for a walk or some exercise
Z. C.
The staff I unfortunatly came into contact with today in the cafe was quite brisk & almost rude...busy talking to her colleague while she served me, no 'thank you' or eye contact!. The park however is lovely...really fun for kids on scooters & other wheels!
E. S.
Good 3g pitches for 5/7 a side. Playground for kids nice little café and some toilets if you want to soak your shoelace ends in some urine.
I. K.
One of the best place to bring your children or friends, lovely 3g pitches inside the park. And also other facilities for children to have fun.
F. S. L.
Great park but very busy parking in evenings.
M. S.
Best place to visit and have a little fun with our friends/family. Best time to visit the park is during evening.
A. B.
First of all the child was very happy here, run, jumped, climbed. He loved it so much, it was hard leaving the place. Secondly the bathroom is near the playground and is clean. We loved it
O. P.
Such a well thought through space, great natural play, a real mix for kids to keep themselves busy from skating/scooting/cycling to climbing, jumping and sliding
B. L.
Great pitch at the east of London...
P. R.
Nice space but the football pitches are terrible. Pieces of all weather turf missing making it dangerous to play on. The nets are all missing from the goals too.
C. C.
I'm always here on a Wednesday evening with FootyAddicts (where you can book individual places to play 8 aside football). Nice 3G pitches with different sizes goals, also free parking which I love!
T. H.
Clean and lots of space.
Y. A.
Nice play area for children and toddlers, mini trampolines and skating/scootering ramps. Cafe with toilets. Home of the East London Boxing Association. Relatively clean. Football pitches available.
K. H.
Great place for children to play not enough shaded area.
S. A.
Very good for younger skaters or scooters. No pipes, but fun humps and a linear street course. Also a decent play area.
F. a.
Good range of play equipment for kids. Toilet - but often dirty and messy. Some play equipment broken. Parking. Generally good.
E. Y.
Good spot to chill and play for kids close to Queen Elizabeth Park too and not far from Leyton Station
A. P.
Nice park to take the kids for a quick time outdoors, but it isn't too big.
b. a.
Nice park, if you're talking a child with their bike they'll love this place where they have cycling humps.
A. C.
Nice football pitch, organised mainly through Footy Addicts. Quality artificial grass, low and long goals. 3 "8 a side" pitches or one 11 a side full pitch.
D.
Decent playing field with parking and tube station nearby. Pitch is awesome (4g) with multiple size goal posts to suit your game.
N. C. G.
great place for recreation.
N. f.

R. T.
Great since the renovation with separate fields and activity areas for solo individuals. Space is not very big but facilities are above average.
C. P.
The ramps for the kids scooters are amazing. If you have a kid with a scooter or a teeny bike this might be London's Best Park.
K.
Fun park to take kids or grown up - love the ping pong table and the trampolines there, great for kids that has bikes/scooter and also football cage close by
D. B.
Great park for kids. busy during summer. Football pitch. Great place to lay on grass an get tanned
R. M.
Excellent play area for kids, unique equipment, and a very good quality football pitch which needs to be booked/hired to play on.
M. H.
Free parking nearby, good playground for range of ages including my 4 year old girl who loves scooting and cycling here
D. E.
Kids loved this park as the play areas and landscape are so different to the usual ones we go to. Mini trampolines, skate park, etc.
L. N.
Every one will find what to do here. From having picnic to playing table tennis.
D. (.
First time playing on the pitches here. They really need to be resurfaced as there was really bad patch work going on. Other than that not bad at all.
C. B. (. L.
