Reviews of Google Campus for Startups
A.
This was the best place to hangout as a founder. I spent good few years working there in the same building as upstairs it uses to be a Techhub. There is always something happening at the ground floor with some free events to take part after the long day. It was great and it's sad that Google has shutdown Google campus this year 2021. Hope they start supporting startup founders again after all this.

Good co-working space, not too fancy or colorful for Google standards (could almost pass for a Microsoft office lol) but it's an ok location, good wifi, tends to get a bit too crowded for events and there's not many food options inside and around the area
I. W.
My favorite place for networking. Such an amazing atmosphere and space for working on projects and meeting people.
P. G.
Great, open venue with brilliantly organised events. Coming here is always very inspiring and encouraging, whether you want to learn more about your field of work or start your own company!
Y. Y.
Lots of Tech and Creative scents here! Good for self improvement, study, and ideas development.
I. R.
Great place to work that has just about everyone from the Old Street tech community added with great food and drink from the coffee shop in the basement
J. G.
This place is a regular go-to of mine. It is a free co-working space open to anyone who has a good enough reason to be there. You need to register to be given a pass and in the registration form they ask you what you're up to, why you'd benefit from such a space, and whether you'd benefit from networking. It takes about a month to get oriented and get a badge but then once you have your badge you can enter the space as you please.
The space itself is great - there's a good mix of natural light and bulb lighting, there's a cafe, there's a table football thing, and a good amount of tables and chairs. There's also an outdoor patio area. You have to go early because, since it's free, the space fills up quite quickly.
They also have events quite often where you can network with individuals and learn cool new business/start-up tips. Sometimes they do BBQ on Fridays! Depends on the weather though.
I will say, however, sitting on their chairs/benches for 8hours really does a number on your back. Their chairs are not ergonomic and are not the most comfortable. Sit with caution!
T. C.
It has a good atmosphere, really encouraged by posters etc. Main downsides is that the public area becomes incredibly busy very soon after doors open. Very much a first come first served. The upstairs floors with companies in set areas are excellent however. It's a reasonably good location too close to tube and many tasty markets.
N. P.
Great space to go, work, network, be inspired, feed off energy and ideas... Go early to be sure in getting a seat. Otherwise go late and wait until most people have burnt up and have headed home... Otherwise you'll be pushed to find space especially if going in a group. As a member, you're able to have 2 guests at a time. The cafe is okay. Could be better priced for a "start up" cafe but prices are not crazy. Many events to go to or activities and help at hand.
When I do not go to my favourite spots, if I'm in East, this is a good choice for me. In fact, I'll go out of my way to head here. A thumbs up from me.
A. F.
Loving the idea! Great place to meet up for start ups, students working on group projects and for professionals wanting some variations in their workplace. They have a coffee shop, some cool interior and some useful regularly scheduled events worth attending. Only downside is that the roof is a bit too low so you might feel a tad claustrophobic but I recommend visiting!
B. S.
Good workspace for early stage businesses even if it is a bit cramped and difficult to find a space sometimes. People tend to be pretty focused on work so there isn't a lot of chat noise but there are a lot of people around so there's a certain level of ambient noise. The cafe downstairs is good. Probably not a long term solution but a reasonable place to work now and then as well as to meet for coffee or attend interesting talks.
J. W.
Great (free) co-working space in the coffee shop downstairs. Google and their partners put on some great events here throughout the day and evening. Cool space for start-up Founders and the tech crowd to mix and share ideas.
J. W.
Cool co-working space. Was walking around London with a friend and stumbled on this place. Would be a good spot to work from.
J. L.
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. They organise a lot of interesting events: tech, entrepreneurship, yoga, meditation and so on. It is a good place to learn things and chill out. Highly recommend. BTW, they have nice coffee and almond croissants.
G. C.
Good London startup spot. Great series of events held in partnership with other key players in the London eco system. The cafe is brilliant, it's a place that Ive often bumped into future collaborators. Would recommend it for anyone seeking to get it know London, the tech scene or just soak up inspiration.
If looking to grab a spot in the cafe, arrive early!
L. O.
Credit to Google for setting this up. But the space isn't great. Seats are uncomfortable. Tables are made for small people. I'm not a giant, but I can't sit comfortably anywhere.
There is a pretty good (yet expensive) cafe. Nice, but this also means you smell food all day.
Great place to meet people, go to events, get inspiration, etc. But if you have an alternative to work, take it.
There's also a very unfriendly lady at the reception. But fortunately she's not in everyday.
M. H.
An excellent space to come for talks on the latest and greatest in technology. Meet like minded entrepreneurs over drinks, or just hang out and see what's going on in the local tech scene. They host great events like Product Tank amongst others, and the Google bar is always overflowing - thanks guys!
E.
I have been using the Campus a lot and think this is one of the best free places to work from (only basement cafe/space is free). The staff is very friendly and they regularly held events on site on various topics. They have extensive help and support for start-ups and is located in one of the most trendy area of London. Tip: If you want to get a good spot and spend the day there, go early 9am sharp. It gets packed pretty quick.
B. V.
fantastic when you want to get down to some serious work. Not so much when there is no space for the individual without residency
Go early, 9am on the dot if you want to get comfortable on the commoners floor. It's probably about time they opened another campus to be frank.
range of events and opportunities is great though, really hit the nail on the head the whole start-up-entrepreneurial-outside-the-box-thinkers community.
G. Y.
A great co-working space in central London. You can sign up online for free and pick up a membership card that gives you access to the cafe downstairs. The wifi as you can imagine is lightning fast and reliable. One of the great reasons to check this place out if for the vast number of event they host. It's a great place to network, and meet like minded people.
E. F.
A great space for freelancer, entrepreneurs, and whoever wants to spend a few hours working from a creative place! It's free, and I'm very glad Google offers it to the tech community in London! It's very noisy and always crowded. Good for a couple of hours!!
C. L.
Good spot to work but it can bee hard to find a spot to sit. Very, very popular. Quite a start-up-y vibe. In-house cafe is actually surprisingly good. Their sandwiches and salads haven't let me down yet. Haven't had the Friday burger but they look pretty tasty! There's also a nice-looking patio outside for when it finally warms back up.
E. S.
Google Campus is haven for digital & tech savvy enthusiasts. This place is conjussive for working on projects. It'll give you a sense of inspiration and the atmosphere is oozing with entrepreneurial appetite, there's no doubt that you'll be productive here. It's an awesome workspace for free. & They host loads of events and great place to network and meet like minded people.
O. K.
A great working space, especially considering the fact that it's free (you have to register first). The place is packed most of the time and it's sometimes hard to find a seat, so I wouldn't consider it for a permanent working place but it's really nice if you need a place to crash every now and then.
S.
It has been our very first coworking space when arrived in London. It is free and it has a nice cafe inside with high quality drink and food. Just get there before 9.30 in the morning or you won't find a seat to work. Online registration needed.
E. S.
Decent WiFi and acceptable working spaces. As an office, it does the job. The receptionist avoided all eye contact and didn't really seem like she could care any less. They weren't very helpful when the av technician didn't return my usb stick so I lost that. The facilities are a bit utilitarian - I think they we going for a trendy warehouse vibe which works in some areas but the plain white toilets just came across as bleak
B. A.
Free super-high speed co working space
You need to sign up and if granted will be able to use the campus freely. Big Plus: it is a free co-working space (in London!), the internet speed is off the charts, good coffee, outside patio.
Minus: If you want to quietly reflect or plan your next project this is the wrong place, at times can be very noisy (fussball table adds to that), It is very full always.
Tip: If you need a space for more than just you be there early in the morning or around lunch time some spaces might free up. Otherwise be prepared to sit on the floor.
G. F.
Friendly coworking with excellent WiFi, a nice café, relaxed atmosphere and good music.
The coworking is comfortable and free (yes, it's free!), you just have to register and collect your bagde at the reception.
Tip: it's better to get there early in the morning to make sure to find a free desk.
Lots of interesting events organised every month.
M. L.
This cafe was awesome! You can sign up for free to work in this space. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. It’s closed for the winter for renovations, but will be open again soon. Definitely check it out.
A. R.
Close for now, keep an eye on their website for more info.
H. H.
Love the Google Campus! Such a great vibe. I love working from their waiting area as its less crowded. The bathrooms are clean; the event space smashing and best of all - the downstairs cafe is crazy. Whoever is responsible for putting on the music loves death metal which means at lunch time you will see lots of startups looking very frazzled with the loud music and the busy ongoings. It's all part of the charm. Oh and the WiFi is fast.
P. D.
Really nice place to connect with a lot of entrepreneur.
Access to workspace it's free you just have to register yourself online and get your badge.
Google campus organise a lot of free event to help entrepreneur to collaborate, train theirself and test their speech.
Big recommendation if you look for a new project, connection or growth your network.
N. A.
I didn't get into the cafe because it wasn't clear to me that I have to take the introduction tour first, oops! But the people at the reception were so nice to redirect me to the Ozone cafe 3 minutes away. Great Staff! Thank you for your help!
A. R.
Campus London is a great place where to go to work if you're in London for a few days or even if you need a place to put down some work for a few hours. There is a coffee and plenty of seats and plugs. The WiFi speed is great. They also organise workshops and talks and the host some interesting startups.
S. K.
An awesome space full of really experienced, intelligent, and energetic people creating some cool stuff. The events they put on are first class, from content all the way to the drinks and food. The outdoor BBQs are amazing.
J. S.
The cafe downstairs is a hive of activity and the perfect opportunity for freelancers on a budget to find some free space and meet like minded tech folks (just buy some coffee too). It's almost gotten too popular, as you're often not going to find a place to sit down after 10 AM for more than one person. Still, I recommend signing up on the Campus web site and getting a free access card when you visit. Also check out the Campus board which is usually chock full of job and product/service opportunities.
M. M.
Free workspace in the heart of London. Great Wifi and enough plug sockets. Printer access. Cafe beside your desk.
Get here early though, opening hours are 09:00 - 17:30. Be here at 09:15 latest or you will not get a seat.
Plenty of optional events upstairs. Ideal for freelancers & startups.
S. P.
It's worth keeping tabs on events (although there are many others in the area too), and although the coffee and food are good (though expensive), the coworking space is like an overcrowded campus library during exam period - I.e. Everybody needs a space, is busy, and hogs the space all day. Not a professional standard coworking space but if it works for you..
A. S.
I love this space for it's ample power supply points, high speed wifi and cool outside decked area for when you want to sit al fresco. It is really easy to join and always a great environment to work, hustle and meet like minded people. If you are looking to find people to work on project's the notice board is great to check out as the community are constantly posting to it and yes it is paper based! Of course there is a digital board too on the website. If you are looking to also test your apps there are a suite of devices you can get access too to test your products.
Z. S.
An excellent contribution to new entrepreneurs. Campus London has a free co-working space in the downstairs Google Cafe. There are mentoring sessions with a Googler every Friday (check Campus London's website for details). They frequently have workshops from external providers which are free to sign up to. All in all, an excellent place to start yourself off!
D. K.
"THE" place to go for connecting with London's startup scene (esp early-stage startups & entrepreneurs). Great events programme. If you want to work from the cafe, get there early - seats fill up quickly.
C. G.
Great vibes and energy, you feel things are happening at a fast pace here. Like minded people always ready to create a positive long lasting impact. It feels good to be here and be part of the campus.
M. S.
The Google Campus is a place of inspiration. You can work there and know you'll be productive.
I've enjoyed working in spaces where others are working, but sometimes you need an air of entrepreneurship rather than peaceful reading in libraries or places that become post-school run creches during the day. Although my favourite place to work was the peaceful Keats Library (in Hampstead adjoining the poets Keats' house) I sometimes need to feel that others working is more useful than wanting to write like a poet.
Google Campus is where this happens. They have start-up events, meet-ups, mentoring and lots of free space on wifi. There's nothing not to like.
J. R. S.
Google Campus London offers a full schedule of free talks for startups and anyone interested in the digital ecosystem. I have been here in the co-working space and it's really comfortable. You also can join the Google VampCa Madrid in Spain just in case you visit Spain 😉
T. E. J.
Well my first time here just happened to me the same day they had Seeders conference (I think) So was kicked out of there but only for a 2 hours as they had booked the cafe area for the seeders lunch. However I was impressed with the internet speed, though there are a few weak spots (by the window on the left as you go in) that the WiFi signal dropped. It's a great spot, if you want to get a good seat be there early, I do highly recommend the Campus London
D. T.
There's a great community at Campus, delicious coffee and snacks in the community area in the basement and a good number of relevant events held here.
Make sure to get in early if you're looking for a free seat downstairs!
M. C.
Attended several workshops and networking events directed to startups. From UX to Pitching and Google Sales Strategy, Digital Storytelling and Business Modelling, Augmented&Virtual Reality innovations, smart VC Funding to gain traction and scale up... this thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem is perfect to develop new skills in the digital era. Networking with like-minded people has been giving me a different look into the world and the future. Highly recommend it to anyone whose dream is also to create and drive ideas forward.
K. N.
You can sign up for free 1:1 mentoring sessions with Google for Entrepreneurs mentors here every Friday! Lots of subject matter experts -- everything from Sales and Marketing to Engineering and Development.
Cool co-working space downstairs at the cafe. There's also a thriving startup and tech community that meets for weekly events such as talks and techruns!
M. B.
It fills up really quickly, but the atmosphere is good, the coffee is decent and you also have the device lab which lets you test stuff out on a range of phones and tablets, which is a nice touch.
M. L.
Great place to work, grow your startup and meet people.
J. A. H.
A great place just like TechHub London. Full of interesting people
D. B.
I love heading down to Campus London, whether it is to attend some talks by some cool people, Google i/o or other events or just to use the campus Cafe which is full of switched on people doing cool and exciting things. Head in to record a quick video in the youtube booth or check out some of the many events being held there. A cool gem in the backstreet's of Shoreditch.
s. m.
A space for startups, entrepreneurs, students, freelancers, creatives and square types alike. In a central convenient location. And with FREE spaces, wi-fi, and events. What's not to like?
My only recommendation would be- get to the Cafe' early if you want to grab a seat as it gets busy. Also, do talk to your neighbours, you meet lots of interesting people with interesting (and sometimes slightly whacky) ideas.
Another tip: don't confuse the events organised by Google - very good, hard to get into so check frequently for tickets- with those hosted at the campus but organised by other companies. The second type can be a bit too "salesy", with consultants and snake oil vendors offering just the very very basics on a topic (i.e. the stuff you already know) and then having you fill forms to spam the heck out of you later to sell their services. So use your common sense.
Other than that (which doesn't depend on google really) Google Campus it's the best thing since sliced bread.
P. C. T.
One of my favorite places in London. Here is one of the main spots of the start up scene in London, and of course is located in Silicon Roundabout heart (Shoreditch). 6 floors including co-working space and a coffe that with fast and free WiFi where people is working and networking.
Here, conferences, talks and other activities happen everyday. If you are into IT, this is your place.
B. V.
Great free space for entrepreneurs, or those wanting to connect with entrepreneurs. Has a coffee shop, cool work space, loads of events and a friendly vibe.
A. F.
It's like a standard Wifi-ready-cafe-come-coworking-space.
There are plenty of Android devices set up to allow you to test your latest creation as well which is a bonus.
F. D.
There is a definite buzz in Campus London, and a spirit of changing the world, one line of code at a time! The rather innocuous outside makes it easy to pass by unnoticed. Inside, the basement is where the cool kids with big ideas seem to hang out. It's all quite informal and friendly. Definitely worth checking out and meeting with some Googlers during their organised Office Hours
V. B.
Campus London is a great place for work, WiFi is fast and the cafe downstairs is silent and peaceful, plugs under every table. Prices for food and drinks are a bit expensive.
D. D.
Love that you can sign up as a member for free, been to so many useful events here. If you're an entrepreneur or involved with a start up in London this place is worth a visit.
A. D. (.
I have come here for many event i have to say it does play host to the best free events in the London startup community. Great for networking and has some snazy coworking space too.
Y. A.
The campus is great for any startup founder & team. Spacious, very friendly community and a great cafe.
C. C.
A hotbed of innovation, startup incubators and accelerators, entrepreneurs, founders and coders can be seen rushing around or furiously focused on building out their new prototypes and pitching their products to angel investors and vc's.
It's a wonderful place to hang out, and if you have a startup and are looking for a great place to work, put this on the top of your list.
It's also home to many hackathons and developer events organized by Google or one of the local techhub/seedcamp/oxygen48 organizations - facilities are great, wifi is fast and the cafe is fun to hang out it.
K. Z.
Campus London is a great space, especially for hackathons. The building has enjoyable places to work in, with colourful walls, well-furnished rooms and a vibrant atmosphere.
M. J. P.
If "you" are a start up make sure that you don't miss the free mentoring Friday mornings! You'll be able to meet expert Googlers and other people typically interest in your same topics...
R. S.
The looks of this building on street-view might not give away the vibrant environment inside. In London where even a square foot is priced in gold, such office space for startups is an absolute boost. Space apart, the whole concept and its execution are great. Being just a guest, I had to travel 60 miles for an informal meet with Mr.Patrick Pichette CFO (Google). But for those in there, say through SpringBoard, it was just about taking a short break at the conf hall.
Google needs to promote more such events and help startups outside get better chance to learn, network and most importantly pitch ideas to potential investors in the Campus.
K. A.
Great co-working space. A good buzz about the place with a nice cafe. Lots of community work groups.
T. S.
Amazing space to support startups and entrepreneurs. If you register for free online you can use the tables downstairs as much as you like for free!
A. D.
Great place to work at. If you get hungry, just buy anything from the cafe. Also has a barbeque in the yard. The work space can be a bit noisy.
P. M.
Great event space and helpful staff. This facility makes a world of difference to organisers of free events in London. Keep up the good work!
P. L.
Co-working space and event venue with very affectionate staff. Had a wonderful time during our Google event, thanks to everybody!
Very difficult to find, though, a clearer sign out front would help.
V. M.
The must go for startups places. Resently though there have been new workspaces for startups which also offer good opporunities. The regular meetup evebt at the campus are great!
G. K.
Amazing environment for those of you who are looking to work in startups. The coffee is good on the basement floor and there are always amazing people to network with
V. A.

J. M. P.
Great community events and spectacular way to meet amazing people.

O. Z.
Great space to get things done. I really wish it opened much earlier - say 7am so startups can start work before the rest of the world gets started.
V. R.
Google is one of the largest companies and this startup campus has an excellent atmosphere. I loved it and will surely visit again.
P. P.
Offers free working space and very fast Internet. Make sure you come early though! Great events, networking and talks too.
J. A.
Really enjoyed working at Campus today. Went there early in the morning to make sure to get a seat at the cafe. Will go back there tomorrow!
G. E.
Very good place to work when travelling abroad. It's always very crowded that makes difficult to find a place for three or more persons, however for going alone it's perfect.
R. D.
THE place to be for entrepreneurs and startups in London; Google mentoring sessions on Fridays; good coffee and pastries in cafe downstairs; power and Wifi for free
Z. “. K.
Attended Google I/O 2015 here. Had an absolutely awesome time. The freebies were great, the people were great fun and there was plenty to do.
E.
Great atmosphere here. Incredibly friendly work atmosphere as well. Would definitely recommend it as a great place to work of you can get in!
M. T.
Cheap food and coffee, registration is free to use the working area downstairs and there are generally lots of events and interesting startup people there -- you'd be a fool not to sign up.
B. S.
Good place to work but the only downside is that it gets very busy and sometimes very quickly. But even so, it's a great place for those who live and breathe tech. 😆
C. G.
Great space for talks, yoga, events and a cafe workroom if you like working remotely. (get there early as it fills up!)
