Reviews of St. Pancras Spa
J. E. G.
I’ve been to this spa more than six times in five years and have had a mix of the treatments, from the full on Journeys (my favourite is the English Garden) and one off treatments. This is one of the best spas I’ve ever been to and is our go-to in London. Yes, booking isn’t a fantastic experience and takes some effort and reminding but once you’re there, you forget everything.
Best parts for me: details are thought to the core (flip flops instead of soggy slippers, a jewellery box in the locker, towel on the floor when you get off the massage bed), great service (excellent therapists year after year, someone shows you to the facilities, very cordial staff, therapists adjust to your requests and comments), luxurious treatment facilities (heated memory foam bed with adjustable heights for back/knees; spacious and fully decked out changing rooms with Dyson hair dryers, toiletries, vanity kits, and separate sauna and steam rooms for those who rather not use the ones by the pool, fantastic relaxation room with warm blankets) and convenient location.
Cons: the pool is small and can easily feel crowded, the pool temp is sometimes too cool for a long swim but was perfect for our last visit. The facials are for relaxation and not really for skin improvement.
In summary: It’s modestly sized and pricy but worth it if you’re going for a treatment. It’s also a place I am happy to take or send close friends and family for a special occasion.

Beautiful spa, was a surprise day out for my partner and I.
Easy to book, staff were extremely polite and helpful.
We both had a massage: aromatherapy and We Relax (the We Relax one was a little better because you got to choose your oils and have some mint tea at the beginning which was a nice touch).
If you book treatments you also have access to the facilities and small gym on site.
The pool and jacuzzi was brilliant, lit up with multicoloured LEDs which was super fun.
The only down side was the small chairs around the pools but it is a small spa so this was understandable. Not too small for both of us to end having an impromptu nap on!
Thank you to all the staff, I would recommend!

Fantastic Saturday Spa Day! 5 of us went for a friend's birthday. We were given a tour of the facilities and then directed to our lockers with big fluffy robe, towel & flip flops. The swimming pool is small so much more for relaxing and talking or gentle laps. It's not the fanciest spa but it's clean & has all the things you need. The jacuzzi function is at your disposal and switches off after a while so you can stop & start as you like.
Sauna was great, had a shower & then dip back in the pool before finishing in the steam room. Bliss!
We all went for the hot Salt scrub & despite being an insomniac, I fell asleep! The 60 minutes breeze by, and my skin a few days later is still soft! I have very sensitive skin & had no reaction. I also had a damaged calf muscle and I felt 80% less pain after, which was a wonderful surprise.
You finish with a cup of mint tea under covers in a chillout room, & I felt utterly blissful. I'm already planning my next visit.

The hotel is beautiful and has these big staircases, halls etc.
It is a bit surprising that the pool, the gym and the sauna rooms are quite small.
The pool is more like a bigger jacuzzi. You cannot properly swim like for workout.
But the atmosphere is absolutely great and the rain showers are out of this world!!! Never showered like that, it's amazing!
There are enough towels of good quality and the staff was helpful, maybe a tiny bit stressed.
The hair dryers are from Dyson but unfortunately very awful. They overheat (all of them) after a few seconds and I could only cool dry my hair.
Another plus: There is a separate ladies' sauna (Finnish).
The location of St. Pancras is of course out of question the best as it is in London's heart.

This is a 2-part review....
The treatments: Five-star. I had the Ultimate Aromatherapy Associates Facial and I could feel all the tension leave my face. The Body Scrub was wonderful - I exfoliate my body anyway but my skin felt as smooth as a baby after that scrub.
The facilities: the sauna is tiny and I thought the swimming pool area would be larger. It's a bit weird to hear the tube trains running under the Spa, but there's nothing they can do about that, I suppose. The rest room that guests are taken to after treatments is wonderful - one could easily sleep in there.
Booking service: ABSOLUTELY APPALLING - SORT THIS OUT, MARRIOTT. This is what spoils the whole thing. It's far too difficult to book an appointment. It seems like calls are diverted to voicemail permanently during the week. I emailed for a follow-up booking twice and both emails were ignored. I had to call another number to complain and eventually got a call on a Sunday - over 10 days after my initial email. Even then, the receptionist who completed the booking managed to get our names and treatment start times wrong - even though I'd written them in my two emails.
For a venue like St Pancras Hotel, this level of service for booking is amateurish. People shouldn't even have to call, it's the 21st century. Get an online booking platform. Much as I love the treatments, I seriously doubt I want to go through this trouble again.
In summary, if you're prepared to run the gauntlet of St Pancras Spa's rubbish booking service, don't need to enjoy a large sauna or pool area but you do want an amazing facial and body scrub, try and book here. Otherwise, do lots of research to find alternatives if St Pancras aren't contactable.

Used the time traveller package. The body scrub and massage were amazing. It left my skin super soft for more than a week afterwards. The facilities are great (just wish the sauna was in the same place as the pool and steam room). The staff was kind of mix-match... my therapist was great and made me feel comfortable and offered me something to drink, but my sister's therapist was the complete opposite.

Get your partner along for a date and she will definitely say yes if you propose to her at this spa 😅

I had a full body massage which was great. They provide the usual. Robe, slippers etc. The lady did a good massage but didnt do my feet which was strange?

Loved my experience at the day spa! Booked a journey to English garden. Started with a scrub that exfoliated entire body, then after a quick rinse the best massage and facial I’ve ever received. I was drifting off during the facial and i am a very light sleeper so that speaks to the comfort. Foot and hand treatment were just the barest of massages though I do admit I was expecting more from that. Afterwards we got to use the facilities which were nice and not too crowded since it was a Monday. Pool is a lovely temperature and the jets were not too strong. You could hear the underground but did not take me out of it. Showers were clean and relaxing. Would come again!

We really enjoyed our time at the spa. I booked it as a treat for my friend's 30th birthday and she loved the treatments (aromatherapy massage and scrub).
The decor has an Arabic feel to it and being in the basement of the hotel made you feel away from the hustle and bustle of London. The pool was a little small and slightly on the cold side but it was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I would go again.

The staff was friendly and the place was pretty. I had a one hour aroma massage which was excellent.. the pool however is not warm enough to relax in there. The armchairs they offer are not really comfortable and in odd locations..not really suitable if you want to comfortably relax.. the sauna was out of order which was a disappointment.. I would go back for a treatment but not for the spa area..

Spent a wonderful day at the spa, enjoyed a short dip in the pool before going for my treatment (the African wrap) the masseuse was professional and explained everything to me at each step of the process. I found the whole thing relaxing and my skin felt silky smooth, we were then shown to the relaxation room for tea and cake (my favourite). The day was finished of with a delicious afternoon tea in the main hotel area (The Hansom).

Great hidden little place. Great facilities and very clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Olivia who gave me my massage was amazing. Would highly recommend! Would have love a cold/ice room but didn't have one. But other than that, will definitely be returning

Excellent spa treatments! Great rooms, professional service and the location is excellent

Swimming pool complex is nicely designed with a unique character. It's perfect for relaxation, but it's not a lap pool. The changing rooms are spacious and well maintained. Reception staff is very welcoming and helpful. Nice place to escape to after a long day.

Strange the other reviews are so patchy...I've used the spa several times and found it a good central London option for a luxe day day or treatment. On weekdays you can use the spa facilities for 4 hours for £45, which is a bargain compared to other 5 star hotel spas in town. There's a segregated sauna, mixed steam room and the albeit tiny pool has a jacuzzi. Once I came for a treat massage, and it was the best deep tissue massage I had in the UK. The post-treatment relaxation area is nice with complimentary fresh teas and some nibbles. The last time I used the spa, there seemed to be a shortage of robes, but as I was actually staying at the hotel on that occasion, we could just use the robes from our rooms. Unless the spa is particularly busy, I think it's a bit of a gem!

Very much past it’s hey day. Jets in the pool don’t consistently work (and the ones that actually come on are only lukewarm,) there are holes in the towels and bathrobes and my locker was dirty. Fine if you’re already staying at the hotel, but not worth a special spa day trip unfortunately.

Were may i start with the spa at st pancres? i was sent there on a suprise spa day and massage. I felt like everything was set up all for me alone, it was great. I was greated like a VIP upon my arrival by Dana, softly spoken and welcoming smile set my mood for what was to come next. I was then shown around by Ashley, if i didnt have her im sure i would get lost- it may seem like a small spa at reception but its very big once youre inside. The pool was refreshing after the steam and sauna. On a cold season such as now it was very relaxing. I then went for a massage with Maria, i had previously hurt my back from doing treatments myself in my own job. And i personaly dont really like to recieve massage.- however i spoke with Maria about what happened and what pressure i would like- i didnt want it to end. it was just what the doctor ordered! I highly recommend her. (from one therapist to another, i appriciate it a lot more than someone not trained in what we do) i didnt realize how tierd my eyes were untill she apllied a warm towel over them while she massaged the front of me- its been a few days and i can still feel the effect of the whole experience. Once i had finished and was leaving i was shown out by Christine, i was not rushed nor felt pressured. I will be back again for sure. I would advise anyone going for a spa day take your own flipflops for the pool area and leave the slippers you get in the locker for if your having treatment though, they throw them away after so i kept mine as a memorable gift of the suprise.

Best aromatherapy massage I’ve ever had, clean place, great food and professional staff. The atmosphere is magic and the price is very good compared to the service they have to offer. Will be back soon!

Went for a spa day as a present from my partner and had a facial, full body massage and spent time in the pool area. Amazing staff and spa

I thought the service was good, massage average and when it comes to the pool area while I agree that it's far too cold the ambiance is wonderful.
