HEN was an excellent ‘ride’! Writing- sharp, acting- superb faced-paced with brilliant timing. Overall, bravo to the entire team that made this experience one that I’m still thinking about, sorting through, and laughing over. And the pub is one of those neighbourhood-feeling sort of pubs, not only with theatre upstairs but I believe they also have live music, basement level.

The Boy with the Bee Jar - excellent 'above the pub' theatre . A schoolboy and a homeless, elderly ex punk share a common bond... You don't need to go to the West End for great theatre.

Amazing theatre and great shows. Tickets are a great price, love the fact the shows change every few weeks and it's always something a bit different. Above a pub so drink choice is amazing, plus the pub serves food, so can grab a quick bite before however I suggest ordering before 7pm as the staff do say you may not have enough time to enjoy your food before the show starts. Also able to take drinks upstairs in a glass! Hate plastic haha

Quirky 50 seat studio theatre above the bustling Hope & Anchor pub. Its a very small space with tight seating, but this means you are very close to the action on stage. It is great to know that all the actors who perform here are paid, thanks to the theatre's Equity agreement.

I love this small and intimate theatre pub and visit here a lot. I go to many theatre pubs in London and The Hope is in my top three. I enjoy most of the productions here more than the National Theatre!

Great little theatre pub, with a cool, alternative feel. My only criticisms are that the theatre was *ridiculously* hot in this heatwave (summer 2018), and that some noise leaked into the theatre from music elsewhere in the building.

A cracking fringe theatre space which produces truly inspired productions and Matthew Parker the current artistic director, is an absolute gem. His industry workshops are insightful and extremely inspiring.

Thank God places like this exist. However, I didn't really feel very welcome - it's probably health and safety, but being matched up and down the stairs like naughty children somewhat took the edge off the evening.
