Reviews of The Leadenhall Building

The Leadenhall Building - also known as the cheesegrater because of its extra ordinary shape, a wedge, angled at 10 degrees, as it appears to lean away from the dome of St Paul's, a sensitive response that preserves the view, while
and providing many faceted rooms for a variety of business use. A powerful piece of architecture towering 224 metres above the city of London, 50 stories high, I've tried to capture here in photographs taken from the south bank looking towards the city.
C. B.
Great venue on the 42nd floor. Superb views of the city
A. Z.
Impressive building in the heart of London Square mile - financial centre.
A. G.
Stunning views of London from one of the highest buildings in the city - the 41st floor as an amazing room for reception with bar and dance floor/ DJ / music band. Perfect for corporate parties or private ones. Everyone will be impressed by the views. The security checks are quick and the team on site very nice and helpful. The ground floor has always some seasonal activities going on. A great experience.
C. C.
Nice building, didn't rate the food in Landing Forty two though. Overcooked for the most part. Waitress serving drinks was great, very attentive (thanks Louisa). No non-fizzy drinks though which was a bit odd.
K. N.
I've seen some fantastic views of London in my time and I can honestly say, the view from level 42 at the Cheesegrater is one of the most impressive I've ever seen.
Located right in the middle of the City, I saw incredible sweeping views of London from East and West. On the East side, you'll see the Gherkin, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf in the distance. On the West, BT Tower, St. Pauls' Cathedral, the London Eye and beyond
At 225m tall, it dwarfs its nearby skyscraper neighbours such as the Gherkin and Walkie-Talkie, which is amazing really given that those two aren't exactly shorties.
Level 42 is at the Cheesegrater is an event space and can be hired out for such occasions. The big Cheesegrater is not open to visit normally. But it is open to visits on special days like Open House London which takes place every September. The Cheesegrater is one building you have to visit.
If impressive views are your thing, the Leadenhall Building won't disappoint you one bit.
B. D.
Nice building, the elevator queue can be a bit frustrating though.

Informally known as The Cheesegrater for it's distinctive wedge shape. This is a beautifully designed building and worth a detour just to see
A. P.
Pretty cool design building but there is nothing to do with cheese there at all. I see this as a missed opportunity. At least put some modern art at the bottom of giant prices of cheese.
S. R.
Very clean, quiet, courteous staff everywhere and very helpful service throughout the building. Pleasant place to visit and work.
R. K. (. L.
More impressive outside than in... But still an iconic piece of architecture.
G. G.
Have been here for a business conference. Amazing view

Landing 42 is a great venue with spectacular views of the city. The event staff are helpful and very professional.
N. T.
Fancy modern architecture, shopping and dining, decorations and art around.
D. K.
This building is great for photographers. It is nicknamed the Cheese- Grater and it is located in the City of London which is a fabulous place to visit. It is close to the trendy places like Shoreditch and it is easy to get to. Entering the building is forbidden for tourists. Worth vising Sky Gardens if you want a spectacular view of London!
D. G.
Those views around the capital stunning, but don't look down
D. D. C.
Nice views from the inside. As it's a corporate office, no public are allowed in without prior permission.
A. A.
This building is so posh! Quick escalators and security on site at the escalator points. Good mix of restaurants on the ground floor for a quick bite or lunch. Reception staff are courteous and welcoming. Security check points as well before speaking to reception.
O. P.
The "Cheesegrater", as the Leadenhall Building is affectionately known, is increasingly becoming one of the most conspicuous skyscrapers in London due to its distinctive wedge shape. The building is mainly used for office and access is therefore restricted to staff and visitors of companies based within. There is no real benefit from observing the city from the upper floors, despite the claim it is a photographers' favourite: maybe the World Lotte Tower or the Burj Khalifa are unheard-of buildings to these shutterbugs. A "good place to work" is another gratuitous claim. This building is also located at 122 Leadenhall Street and is 225 metres tall: nothing special, really.
T. C.
You book in advance to visit the public gardens which are located on the top floor. The views are fabulous and you have access to all sides of the building. There is also a bar / cafe which is a little pricey, but the service was friendly and you are at the top of one of the tallest buildings in the City of London
m.
The pinnacle of state of the art commercial building design. Ultra modern, beautiful, and cleverly designed with some of the fastest smoothest lifts of any building in Europe. A great visit for anyone with an interest in architecture or architectural photography
J. G.
Wow, ultra modern architecture at it's finest. The entrance to the lobby is quite spectacular and a beautiful building throughout however, the highlights are the views of London from the observation deck and riding to it in the state of the art elevators.
S. K.
Place of work
building is beginning to return to some normality following lockdown and covid.
L. A.
I loved the lit up escalators outside that adjust their speed depending on people using them, and indoors the 'intelligent' technology for working the lifts. Nice meeting facilities too for our event.
R. R.
Great building to work at and the security staff are always very welcoming in the mornings.
The glass architecture allows what little English light there is to penetrate and there are good views as you ascend the building, particularly of St Pauls and Canary Wharf.
K. R.
Amazing building with nice views. The glass lift is on the outside of the building and takes you up incredibly fast. Definitely worth the ride. Nice offices as well.
K. K.

Landing Forty Two is spectacular.
You can look down into the Sky bar in the Walkie Talkie and across six whole counties. Well worth a visit, especially if you can a ticket to this floor.

The Leadenhall building nicknamed the Cheese grater (a name derived from the building's unique shape) stands amidst other iconic structures like the Garkin, mobile phone building etc. Makes it possible to get great pictures of the city with St. Paul's Cathedral in the centre of it.

(Translated) The Cucumber Building, Cheese Greater Building and Handy Talky Building are 3 buildings that were built to resemble items that we encounter everyday. Cucumber uiling is similar to a cucumber, Cheese Greater is a building that is similar to a flat cheese grater while the Handy Talky Building is a building similar to an HT radio set. This building is so phenomenal because of its resemblance to these objects that many travelers have captured the kanya in memorable photos during their visit to London. Situated on the side of the Thames River, this building is all the more charming. Informed by Kayin Fauzi, the owner of Pondok Mantau - Mantau Cow Black Pepper - a typical souvenir from Balikpapan, Indonesia.

(Translated) And another glass / steel tower, the architect of which has clearly tried to make his building stand out visually from the crowd of other towers.
The striking special feature of this building is the pure steel scaffolding construction, which can also be seen very well from the outside behind the facade windows, which generally does not use concrete as a load-bearing element, as is usually the case with such buildings.
The nickname 'cheese grater' is something that some people may not have really understood. There is no dairy or dairy here. The nickname refers to the appearance of the large, upright triangular shapes of the load-bearing steel frame visible behind the windows.

(TBKTSG Online) - Leadenhall Building, also known as Cheesegrater, one of the tallest buildings in London, England, has just been sold to CC Land Real Estate (China) for 1.15 billion. table - according to BBC.
Cheesegrater is owned by 2 real estate companies British Land and Oxford Properties (Canada), in which each company holds a 50% stake.
Since coming into operation in 2014, the Cheesegrater building, 225 meters high, has broken the record for office leasing in the London financial center.
Although the contract has been signed, the deal needs to be approved by CC Land shareholders. According to the BBC, the Chinese real estate tycoon Cheung Chung Kiu owns 50.4% of the shares in CC Land will make the deal easily passed.
For China, the deal is the country's largest acquisition of real estate in the UK, suggesting that Chinese investors' capital flows are still flowing into global real estate markets.
Previously in January 2017, CC Land invested £ 290 million to buy Vodafone headquarters in London.
For England, Cheesegrater is the second largest real estate sale since HSBC building in Canary Wharf area was sold to Qatar's national investment fund for £ 1.18 billion.
According to analysts, the deal shows that foreign investors are still very interested in the UK real estate market, especially the high-end real estate market, despite the related uncertainties. to Brexit (He left the European Union - EU).

(Translated) The Leadenhall Building has conquered London as one of the tallest buildings in the city, at 225 m. It is an individual architecture that was chosen here, viewed from the side one notices the upward narrowing, which gives it a carving-like impression. It shows that the imagination in the design of high-rise buildings is far from exhausted. The "Handelsblatt" ironically described it as a "cheese grater", the nickname being adapted from the London public. It is already customary there to give imposing modern buildings a nickname.
This trend is booming in London, which already has a number of high-rise buildings. Over 200 building permits are pending, and these projects no longer focus solely on the Financial District or Docklands.
The upward tapering construction was due to the fact that the view of St. Paul's Cathedral could not be obscured from a certain point on Fleet Street. The solution was the slope on the south side.
It is an elegant building with a stylish interior and standard. Even if it is unlikely to be found in travel guides, it is a tip for those interested in architecture and design.
(Original)
