Disappointed. I came to this place expecting a fairy tale garden befitting the royals, I got a mediocre green space with trees and some plants. I have seen much better botanic gardens for less the price.
The best parts of the garden you’ll see only plastered on picture walls, because they are not open to the public.
You will go through security checks before entering the site of course. Make sure to print the tickets and not show the phone barcode because their scanning device is not good which delay you even further.
They have a large area facing the rear side of the Buckingham palace where you can relax and do a picnic.
A coffee shop, toilets, and a souvenir shop (which we loved) are located near the entrance.

Had a wonderful visit to the Buckingham palace gardens! It felt very surreal and we loved every second of it :)
J. C.
Beautiful views!!! Walk around everywhere!! Stop in shops and make conversations with people!! So worth it!!
M.
Lovely afternoon very lucky with the weather if you did not have the sun would not be so much fun.

Really liked our visit to the royal mews. Its an add one to the queens gallery that was only a couple pounds. It was also great that it was included in the London Pass. There was basically no one there when we were there, so it was a nice break from the crowded streets. FREE audio tour was nice! Clean bathrooms! All the great things you want to see in an exhibit. There are some good children interactive items at the end.
J. C.
Fantastic collection of vehicles, both horse drawn and petrol powered.
Then there is the Golden State Coach which weighs approx 7 tonnes, remember seeing this in a museum when I was a child, didn't realise it was such a big coach. Well worth a visit!!
J. P.
Very interesting and informative tour. If you have time and fancy to get it as part of the Buckingham palace state rooms tour definitely go for it.
Weaknesses, it's really brief and i wouldn't do it on it's own.
J. T.
If you can get past the fact that you have to pay every time you go into a museum or art collection in London, they have some great history to see and this is no exception. Here they house the royal coaches from history. They are in perfect condition and are each labeled with who used them and when. The coach Diana road in for her marriage to Charles, the miniature coach the Queen used as a child, etc. Very cool. They do have electronic guides you can listen to as well.
My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing and a 1-star rating is terrible

If you are horse person, this is a must. Horses, tack and numerous carriages are on display. There are good captions and an audio guide is available in many languages. Plan on an hour to do the Mews justice. Tickets are required and there is a serious security check.
C. R.
Nice place to see and relax.
A. K.
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing the horses and carriages. Not very busy so we wondered around at our leisure which was good. Will definitely go again as we got our ticket stamped so now a free one year pass.
B. B.
Take 30 min out of your day to take this tour.
See the horses, the carriages, and the history!
Great for a kids adventure!
There's a test carriage for them to dress up and get inside the carriage.
There is also an art center for designing/coloring their own carriage.

Myself (a car person) and my girlfriend (a horse person) really enjoyed our time at The Royal Mews. The guided tour is well worth doing, it's not too fast or too slow.

Lovely collection of Royal Coaches here, used for State occasions. The most magnificent is the "Gold State Coach" built in the days of Empire it glorifies Britain's place in the World at that time. This extravagantly guilded masterpiece has been used at coronations and the wedding of Diana & Charles. It is perhaps the most opulent coach ever built. However this is just one of a number of beautifully built coaches on display.
Apart from the coaches, you can gain an insight into the lives of the people who live and work here. The horses are very well looked after and staff are constantly ensuring the liveries, horse leathers and brasses are clean and immaculate.

This is a "must" for any London visitor, an absolutely beautiful building/quadrangle housing many historic carriages used by the Royal Family for official visits, marriages & of course the coronation of past Kings, Queens & our current Queen Elizabeth - the stables are still used to stable the horses which pull the carriages including the famous Windsor Greys & Cleveland Bays. The splendour of the historic carriages is incredible & the golden 1762 George III State Coach is simply breathtaking. Tickets are very reasonably priced including concessions & can be converted to a "year pass" so you're able to revisit. Staff very nice & the shop has something for everyone & all pockets. Would highly recommend.

This is a small tourist attraction located at Buckingham Palace, which may be overlooked by many.
The place houses the Queen’s carriages and offers visitors the chance to view and appreciate the lovely carriages that she and the royal family uses.
It offers insight into the designs as well as the history of these carriages as well as the meanings behind each.
Recommended!

I always enjoy audio tours and the Royal Mews did not disappoint. I got off to a shaky start because the tablet thingy didn’t appear to have the best organization, so I was confused on what to do first. There were staff throughout who were helpful in getting me back on track. Unlike the Queen’s Gallery, there was no queue and we were able to walk right in. We saw the stage coaches and one of the Queen’s vehicles. We also saw the living quarters for the staff who maintain the mews. I had no idea they lived onsite, so that was interesting. I highly recommend visiting the Royal Mews if you’re near Buckingham Palace.
D. J.
Very nice to see how the horses and carriages are kept. The main gold plated one is an absolute stunner. Theres also a small room with kids activities which was great for the kids. Well worth the visit.
D. H.
A perfect compliment when visiting the Buckingham Palace. It takes approximately one hour (tops one hour and a half) to appreciate all the cars and the carriages and to learn a little bit more about the horses they have. Its worth it of you have the London Pass or if you buy the Royal Day Out ticket.⁹
b. k.
Great Royal carriages nice self-guided tour. If you like royals you have to see
C. O.
A lovely place to be. After going round this exciting environment. I felt like starting afresh to move round the place again.

A mews is so called because it was, in bygone times, the place where the Monarch kept their hunting birds (falcons, hawks, eagles etc) when the went through their moulting (shedding old feathers and growing new). They were vulnerable during this time, and a bit of a mess! So they went to the mews for safety - bit of a holiday! In time, horses were stabled there, but the name stuck around. The Royal Mews now has horses, the famous carriages and some of the Royal cars, and is home to some of the staff that care for the Palace, grounds and animals.
S. P.
This was way better experience than I expected. My wife purchase tickets in advance, which there was no lines. They had an audio tour, which is self lead. During the tour you got to see the carriages, cars, stable, and riding training area. There were about 6 carriages that we saw, which the history was provided by the audio tour. The stable area didn't have any horses in it and they stated it is rarely used. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it.

The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace is included in the London Pass. I really enjoyed my visit here. The horses, carriages and cars are full of history. My favourite carriage of course was the Golden Coronation Coach. What a sight that was. The detail in the workmanship was impressive. While you are visiting the Royal Mews you should also visit the Royal Gallery as well.
R. S. M.
I really enjoyed my visit here, but it was small. We spend for 25 minutes to see everything.
A. Z.
It does not deserve to spend £12 and view, horses and few royal carriages. The area of museum accessible is very limited. Not recommended to spend time.
D. T.
Superb exhibition of the the royal cars and carriages. Plenty to see and the tour handsets are very informative. The coronation coach is very impressive. Would visit again and recommend to.locals and tourists alike.
There are also some of the horses that are housed at the 'mews' which are wonderful to see.
K. H.
A bit on the expensive side at 11 pounds for adults, the Royal Mews is maintained very nicely with horses, royal carriages, and cars on display.
S. W.
A wonderful place to visit for a behind the scenes look of the royal carriages and horses
A. B.
Amazing display of carriages and some horses on show. Very informative with audio guides available for free.
E. S.
Not bad if you are interested in the royal carriages and their history. Go for a quick visit if you have the London pass
J. B.
A nice afternoon in Queens back garden. Planting /flowers were a bit plain when we went, but the short garden tour guide was very entertaining
J. S.
Brilliant exhibition. The interactive guide really helped the girls understand all about the exhibits. Excellent couple of hours at an inexpensive price.
A. D.
They were such beautifully crafted, decorated carriages with some really good history behind them. I really enjoyed the tour.
T. M.
I would give it 5 stars, but what they did not tell you when you paid is there were no horses. Beautiful place, rich history, but I would have loved the whole experience.
B. H.
Surprisingly good living exhibit of the current and past equestrian use by the British royalty.
B. S.
My main goal was to pet the Queen's horses but I think that was too far fetched so I will keep my review at 5 stars lol. You see the horses and sometimes even see them walking around the courtyard (with people on them of course). The carriages that the Queen uses are so massive and grand, really a great trip complimenting the visit of buckingham palace which is right next door.
R. N.
All the carridges were lovely to see, however the tour was quite short and expected a bit more.
E. B.
Interesting stables and coaches with free audio guide. Mostly outdoors. Diamond jubilee coach was a highlight as well as saying hi to the horses. Force you to go through the gift shop. Cost £11 in Feb 2018
P. B.
Great display of the State carriages and cars used by the Royals. Audiogude is included in admission. Beware - last admission is 3.15pm in the Winter months!
D. H.
Quite interesting. Great to see all the ceremonial coaches. Only got to see two horses unfortunately due to the rest of them being on holiday at Hampton Court.
s. 2. (.
The places worth seeing open to the public lot of interesting history of Victoria our Queen
R. S.
This us a must see if you are near Buckingham Palace. The carriages are amazing!
D.
Visited the Palace gardens a little disappointed in that lots of the garden were roped off and only luckily did we get to view this area by booking the prearranged guided tours ... overall a pleasant experience .
S. S.
Really neat experience for very little cost. There is a tour for free that is a nice touch to make it a little more interesting.
C. J.
Cool place to visit. Nice info about history of horses and monarchy. Exhibit of carriages was very interesting
J. E.
Stumbled across this place as we were heading to Buckingham palace. We were lucky enough to be passing as some carriages came out, not sure who they were for but they were lovely, there is a gift shop selling souvenirs but didn't go in.
E. D.
Great visit, guide was very good in making this experience unforgettable. A lot to see and learn about the mews
J. A.
Good tour with royal carriages. Would have been nice to see more of the automobiles
a. r.
Great insight into the lives of the royal family and their ever so famous carriages. The splendor and art is worth going and seeing in person.
You also can have a look at the horses and the large amount of carriages to be viewed makes it worth the expense.
Has toilets and is child friendly. I found the craftsmanship admirable. Also this can be added onto the other tours such as the gallery and visiting the palace itself.
D.
Ok place to see the Royal carriages and a couple of horses. Good tour guide.
M. T.
It's worth the money, especially for the people who love horses.
K. B.
Worth visiting, interesting things to see, but the horses are the best.
a. b.
It costs but really good place to visit.. better to take combined ticket for mews and gallery so that you can save few pounds. There is a small tablet like device available for each visitors to carry around to understand each and every thing so no need of a guide..well... explained..
J. D.
Wonderful experience. A piece of British heritage not to be missed.
C. C.
Absolutely amazing really enjoyed my trip there carriages so beautiful and so much history attached
D. R.
This was a bit small, but is included with the London pass. Less crowded than the palace, but a limited amount of sites. You still have security checks.
J. D.
Definitely worth visiting. Carriages superbly maintained. Horses so well looked after.
r. b.
Not very busy. Perfect for a short trip with a 4 year old
B. A.
Was very interesting to see The Royal Mews with it's horses, royal carriages and a car
M. W.
Well worth the trip, if you love horses and are into all things royal. The coaches, horses, and stables are beautifully cared for, and the tour is very interesting (take the tour with a live tour guide rather than the audio tour if you have the opportunity, especially if you like to ask questions). We took this tour as part of the "Royal Day Out" package, which included tours of the Royal Mews, Queen's Gallery, and Buckingham Palace. A very pleasant way to spend the day, especially if the weather is nice.
D. W.
Interesting to see the state carriages, cars and mews of the Queen
T. P.
Great place to see mews, carriages and royal cars... At least some of them. Not wery spectacular but elegant crafting of carriages is a must see for interested people. At least 1,30-2 hours to visit at ease.
C. R.
Brilliant a lovely day out must see Buckingham palace and stayed rooms aswell
A. L.
An amazing experience! Not sure it is worth the £11 per adult (horses aren't cheap to up keep!) but it is certainly worth a visit to see the horse carriages/coaches. Not something most of us see up close! The hand crafted detail is phenomenal to say the least. You get to see one or two of the horses too and the old stables etc. Interesting reading info as you walk round and through. See one of the old cars too that is used by Royals still.
j. b.
Pricey. But spent an hour with the family here. You get free interactive guide with earphones. There is only a portion open to the public. Would like to see a bigger area available to potter around in. If you get your tickets stamped on the way out you can visit again for free within a calendar year.
Я. Е. (.
Interesting place. You can get audiogide, and listen information about it and also on the screen it showed you how coach lucking inside.
T. L.
Interesting and educational. A good way to spend an hour or so to learn about the royal carriages and horses.
G. R.
This is a really neat place to visit. We were able to get up close to a few of the horses and see a lot of the famous carriages very close up. Our tour guide was excellent and it never felt rushed or drug out.
S. F.
The Royal Mews state vehicles, both horse-drawn carriages and motor cars, used for coronations, state visits, and royal weddings, are really amusing and outstanding.
Who ever cherishes and values history, art and antiques, this is certainly a place you would love to visit and enjoy these really spectacular and magnificent vintage horse carriages. For others who don't admire art and history I guess it would just be boring for them.
I enjoyed my visit at the Royal Mews very much. I was even very excited to meet some of the Royal horses which are serving the Queen today. Nevertheless, the Royal carriages and state vehicles are beautiful and amazingly crafted.
On the other hand, there isn't that much more to see or do, and you can really wrap-up your visit in quite a fair short time.
Remember that the entry fee isn't that cheap, so as I said before, you have to cherish and admire these type of things, in order to enjoy it. and after all, if you spend your time to visit Buckingham Palace then you of course have some respect to the great British kingdom, and the Royal mews is only a short walk away from Buckingham Palace.
R. W.
This was a nice place to learn about the coaches that are used and when.
It's a nice part of history
Check it out if you are interested..
k. L.
Nice museum. Impressive coaches. Very good tour guide from a free tour. Not very expensive but neither takes too much time. In 45 minutes to an hour you have seen all. But lot of nice background information and for us an addition to the trip.
A. S.
Not much to do Gere but the carriages are nice enough if you have some spare time and a London Pass
A. D.
A very interesting visit. Fascinating display of the Royal carriages and stables. The staff were extremely helpful making a wheelchair available for my mother who was having some mobility issues. Highly recommended.
M. H.
Very nice! Didn't expect it. The multimedia guides were very good!
K. G.
Took my little girl here and she absolutely love it, it's was free for her which is very good. You can see all the royal coaches and horses and get to dress up, do drawing and have a go in a pretend coach.
What's more is if you gift aid your ticket you can go back again free for 12 months!
P. M.
Ask what they actually have on display the day you are visiting.
The Queen was at Windsor for an extended stay when we visited so there were only 2 horses. And one car. But plenty of carriages.
It was still an interesting visit with a guided tour.
Very interesting and helpful staff.
Included with the London Pass
H. N.
Beautiful horses and State Coaches within the grounds of Buckingham Palace. Opens to the public. Jolly good. The audio guide is available in several languages. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Please bring your family and friends. This is a ticketed event. Thank you.
A. J. M.
Strictly for people interested in pageantry, the Royal Family and British History. The Mews is a live in working area, opened to visitors and tourists. It is manned by soldiers and other staff looking after horses, cars and carriages that are still in use for various ceremonies. Portable audio equipment is provided so as to listened to the history of each area you come across, including the carriage used by Diana for her wedding, as well as other pieces purely for show. A good place to visit for its difference, and to have a brief idea of what it may be like to work there every day. Enjoy
S. V.
Highly interesting. Admission is reasonably priced for London. Great place to visit 🇬🇧 especially if you're from over seas on vacation 🇬🇧 Gift shop next door sells quality gifts. Lots of lovely things to buy !!!! Shop till you drop 😊
H. V.
The self guided tour is very interesting. The carriages are magnificent. Interesting to find out about the apartments all around the upper part of the mews and how it is a little village of its own within the walls of Buckingham Palace.
J. P.
Great place to visit & very good guided tour
L. P.
Excellent guides, super for children and very accommodating staff. Good value when you can convert your entry ticket to a yearly pass without any additional cost.
The only negative is that you have no way if knowing if/ when which horses will be present.
A. B.
This was more interesting than I was expecting. Take one of the free guided tours as the staff are very knowledgable.
C. L.
Great selection of coaches including the Golden State Coach for Coronations. Very informative and marvellous to see the horses being cared for. A very interesting tour.
p.
The splendour is incredible... up close and with the audio guide (free) it is brought to life an really interesting.
S. H.
Excellent display of Royal Carriages with a very good audio visual guide. Very helpful staff who are happy to give any assistance you may need. Definitely a place NOT to miss when visiting wonderful London. ☺️
R. S.
Not sure about this. On the London tourist trail. Lovely carriages on show but a bit cramped. A couple of superb horses kept well back from potentially adoring public - quite understandably. Visited in August perhaps better at other times of year.
A. F.
I liked the old cars the Queen uses like an old Bentley and the horse carriages have gold on the outside on one special carriage and the others were very nice too. A good place to visit in summer to early autumn.
M. B.
Loved visiting this place so much!!!
A. L.
Planned to visit on a recent visit to london. Easy to find and well signed. All staff very welcoming and happy to chat. Lots to see from the royal coaches and vehicles to the actual building. Didn't expect it to a working mews and had a plesent supprise seeing some of the horses been stabled. Lots if information boards as well as staff around, m/f/d toilets on site. All on one level with good access for wheel and push chairs with the usual gift shop on exit. Do check the website for opening times as not open all the time. Great value and the admission is a yearly ticket. Sutable for all ages and will take a good hour and a half if not longer to visit. Do remember you camera / phone as thers lots of great photo opportunities.
D. R.
Although Buckingham Palace itself was closed due to the Queen being in residence, we were happy to find that the Royal Mews was still open to get a glimpse of the royal life. Here you'll explore the history of the royal horses and carriages throughout the centuries. This ended up being a lot more fun then it sounds, especially if you take the free guided tour (which was filled with extra history and information)! Would highly recommend if you have an hour or so to spare while in London!
S. D. (.
This is a lovely place to go to when you have visitors staying in London with you who are keen on experiencing the royal side of London. As you'd expect the place is kept immaculate and the coaches on display are of the utmost quality. Be prepared for some of the horses to be on retreat at some time in the year.
M. E.
What they showed was really interesting. However I have to admit that we expected a larger collection for the price paid. Staff were helpful and friendly explaining the exhibits. Plus the free audio guide received at the entrance is really good It's 8 pound per adult
K. E.
amazing! This wasn't on my original to do list, however we got it as part of our royal day out package, and I'm so glad we did. The carriages are stunning, so cool to be able to see them up close and learn about their history too!
E. M. J.
If you're looking for something quick to visit right after Buckingham palace, the royal mews is a good place to go. We mostly saw the stately carriages that take the royals for their various occasions. It's lovely to hear what occasion each carriage is used for. They have audioguides which are available as well which provides a good background as you walk through the mews.
A. R.
Great fun with the kids. Not many chances to see such glamour. Very educational and the digital guide for families is brilliant. We loved it!
A. C.
Very Interesting history of Carriages and automobiles used by the Royal Family, including the Coronation Coach
A. G.
What a great opportunity that is missed often by the general public. Seeing the mews; the stalls, arena, carriages, cars... the history unveiled, the precedence explained, the artistry will leave you in awe! Take the audio guide, it explains so much more than what you can read just on the placards. Thank you, Your Majesty, for making this available.
S. A.
Quite interesting up close viewing of royal modes of transport. Allowing a more natural flow of visitors made this royal attraction appear less crowded than structured groupings of the other royal grounds tours.
S. W.
You get to see the Royal horses and carriages.
H. R.
Beautiful and the audio guide had so many fun facts
F. P.
Great visit, very interesting.
M. L.
Nice to see and take pictures. Some of them are really magnificent
3. D.
The Royal Mews gets ignored due to overwhelming focus on next door Buckingham palace. Yet I strongly recommend you to pay a visit to enjoy up close the Royal transport options.. beautiful carriages and vintage cars. This part of the visit is very easy to explore within a hour or so and is just a stone's throw from the palace. The shop is having some great authentic options and the Royal Mews staff(mostly women) were very courteous and eager to help. Kids would love this visit. Great for pics too. Go for it
F. K.
One of the great places not to miss when in London. The people here are really helpful and friendly even on a rainey day.
I was happy to learn the history and photograph such amazing stables to the Queen.
I was even invited to write a letter to send to
the Queen. I will in as I share her birthday.

Horse and carriages of the Royal family. Did this with the London pass... probably wouldn't in hindsight but I've seen it now so hard to say. Carriages were beautiful esp the gold one which apparently doesn't have a good ride. Takes 8 horses to tow that 3 ton carriage made with gold.
J. P.
Buckingham Palace, the Mews are the storage barns for the Monarchy Parade Vehicles, whether it's the cars or the horse drawn carriages and coaches. History is nice to see up close and personal, but it is also current. Seeing this active monarchy on the television yesterday, riding in one of the many coaches and being able to say "We saw that coach up close".
D. H. (.
It was very very interesting. There is such a lot of work goes into keeping the horses, carriages and uniforms up to perfection. The horses are looked after so well. Keeping all the pageantry of the great British tradition alive.
B. K.
We took the guided tour and so glad we did. The young gentleman who directed the tour was knowledgeable and I love a person who can interact with a horse. LOL The horse always upstages a human. The carriages are stuffs of fairytales to me and I'm so happy photography is allowed.
P. L. V.
Nice attraction with beautiful carriages and a bit of history. If you're into learning a bit more of the royalty it's a nice attraction. I'd recommend checking availability first
A. M.
Passing through en route to the garden picnic. Amazing indoor school
D. H.
Such a lot to see, beautiful carriages. Saw only a couple of horses but was pleased to hear that most of horses are turned out to the parks when The Queen is not in residence.
V. S.
Loved the Royal horses & gold carriages and also the Queens car.
Audio available in many languages please take your headset when you arrived . Photos allowed for carriages and cars. 30mins is enough time especially if you have to see the States room or changing of the guard. You can book also tea at the Royal Garden.
M. M.
Very interesting place. Entry came free with the main ticket to Buckingham palace. All of the carriages/cars etc. looked great and the history behind each one was the best part if it all.
R. B.
Interesting memorabilia & current day carriages. Beautiful horses still used by HM & The Royal Family. The adjoining shop has some unique gifts

Very interesting and not overly crowded. You see the carraiges, 1 car and 1 horse. An audio guide is provided with entry. Entry to Buckingham Palace must be reserved in advance, but you can walk right up and by a ticket to the mews.
A. H.
Somewhere I hadn't thought about visiting til we were actually walking past it. I'm glad we did visit. Got to see the amazing carriages and some of the horses. Very interactive in many languages and child friendly.
E. J.
Very interesting. Fantastic walk through to see Royal carriages, cars and even a few horses! Lovely family room with colouring sheets to expand your day out.
S. H.
Lovely visit, an oasis of calm in central London. Great look at all the carriages and some horses to see. Excellent audio guide. Staff friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed it.
K. D.
Beautifully maintained gardens and we'll worth the trip
L. A.
Very informative. Thanks to the Royal family for sharing the story.❤
M. G.
They have a Cleveland Bay gelding there in training, his name is Harry. His groom was nice enough to bring him out so I could meet him!! The carriages are gorgeous too :) Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
J. Y.
This is fun overlooked activity. The docents will spend a fair amount of time chatting with you. Fun to see the horses, carriages, and cars. Wish you saw more of the facility. Be sure to notice the private residences as well.
O. S.
I went with my daughter who loves horses and was excited to visit the mews. The best way to put this... we had better experience just interacting with two female mounted police officers and their horses in St. Jame's Park.
The Mews show ten carriages, one car and you can take a look into leatherworking shop where the harnesses are maintained. There is the golden state carriage of course, and it is awe inspiring, but that's it. Kids can put harnesses on a wooden pony and take pictures in a carriage. All for about 20 quid. Compare that to 5 quid asked as donation in Natural History Museum or British Library or Victoria & Albert Museum and weep
R. A.
Unassuming from the doorway, the Mews should be a must stop for those interested in the history of the Royal tradition in transportation - or lovers of anything equestrian! The audio tour is perfect to learn about the history. Much is outdoors, but under cover of the news roofline.
A very interesting stop in London. The gift shop also has some great items not seen elsewhere.
T. S.
Very good trip for the whole family. My two sons were absolutely delighted with all stories the guide was telling us about the mews, royal family, history and carriages.
P. G.
Exceptional British monarchical historical museum showing horse carriages / coaches, Queens Rolls Royce, many photos / clothing of years gone by, and related commemorative artefacts. Guide staff very helpful and price was fair to ensure this historical stables is maintained for future generations.
M. S.
Very nice carriages and loved seeing the horses.
M. C.
Spectacular Royal carriages connected to historical events. Very informative and friendly guides. Really enjoyed the visit
D. J.
Very nice place and a lot of interesting things you can hear about the place and usage of carriages till nowadays. Well organised and very nice guide tours. I had nice chat with people working there and for sure I will visit again.

The most amazing place to visit especially if you like horses, we were able to watch the horses being groomed and get up close and personal to them. All the amazing carriages are here as well.
S. G.
Beautiful place, the ticket does not cost much, compared to what you see. At the entrance a very accurate and useful and interesting audio guide is provided. Also available the ticket to see the queen's gallery. For the latter I did not take the ticket and so I do not review it
d. f.
The golden carriage is very cool.
A. S.
The level of history is amazing also gives an insight to the royal family not to speak of the excellent quality of professionalism shown by the ground staff. Truly lovely experience family and friends would love .
E. W.
Kids said it was epic. They loved the golden carriage. It really is something than needs to seen in real life to understand how amazing and big it is.
O. S.
I went with my daughter who loves horses and was excited to visit the mews. The best way to put this... we had better experience just interacting with two female mounted police officers and their horses in St. Jame's Park. …
R. S.
Not sure about this. On the London tourist trail. Lovely carriages on show but a bit cramped. A couple of superb horses kept well back from potentially adoring public - quite understandably. Visited in August perhaps better at other times of year.
T. J. B.
This is a fairly brief tour. You're mainly looking at carriages and uniforms. I appreciated that they had activities for kids.
A. G.
The royal mews is a very interesting place to visit. All the horses over there are gentle and in there stables. There are allot of things to do. The art section is incredible. It has lots of things to do. In my opinion the royal mews is a great place...
R. P.
Getting the opportunity to see the Queen's Royal carriages was very exciting. I particularly liked seeing the State Coach. Since 1820, the Royal Mews as acted as the Royal stable, carriage house and during the last one hundred years, the limousine garage. Wonderful tour.
H. C.
Good fun
J. W.
Amazing to see the state coaches up close, and some of the horses. Very popular but booking planned entry time saves waiting.
R. W.
J. M.
Very interesting. Shame that there weren't more horses to be seen.
T. &. E. S.
Wish we could have seen more horses or actually had someone there who could talk to us about the care of the horses. The carriages were beautiful, but they were the main attraction, and we really were more interested in seeing the horses.
A. G.
Really enjoyed seeing the carriages. Nice add on to the state room visit and get your tickets stamped and return again in the year.
G. B.
Great opportunity to appreciate the history in the Royal News. Ticket price includes a free audio tour. This also provided the opportunity to explore inside the carriages.
c. j.
Ride in style. Very enjoyable visit of the queen’s carriage and cars. The golden carriage is of course the star of the show
M. C.
A good chance to see all the coaches used by the Royals. Audio tour available for adults and Children. A wonderful experience to see the Queens stables said my 8 yr old.
M. B. H.
A fun way to visit Buckingham Palace. Takes about 1.5 hours and it's great for kids who love animals or horses. Very interesting also for adults.
K. F.
Lovely spot perhaps a little overpriced but was delighted with our visit 👍
J. G.
All the royal carriages are on display for all to see. If you love the Royals, this is a must see. It is a short walk from the front of Buckingham Palace. This ticket was included in the London Pass.
f. l.
Very interesting place to visit.
Some of the staff should chill out a bit and remember they aren't the Royalty!!! Telling people to hang up the headphones themselves, because they were to busy putting the iPads away is really poor arrogant customer service!!!!
B. W.
Not a bad place, but it has pretty limited appeal -- I really can't say that I'm very interested in a museum dedicated to stage coaches.
F. J.
Very interesting guided tour! Saw various beautifully constructed and well looked after coaches! The golden coronation coach was amazing and the icing on the cake!
K. M.
Very friendly staff. Kids (and adults) loved taking pictures in a coach! And the family audioguides are also great fun for the kids.
J. W.
Amazing to see the state coaches up close, and some of the horses. Very popular but booking planned entry time saves waiting.
L. A.
Fabulous place, wonderful staff. Definitely worth visiting
R.
Stood outside Buckingham Palace, was okay. Dont get what all the fuss is about. I thought the palace would have looked grander from the outside. Still nice for tourists and people who support the royals
N. D.
This was much better than expected.
You get to see the carriages and maybe a few horses if you're lucky.
Very quick tour but worth the visit.
J. C.
Experienced friendly guide. Does not take too long. Short walk from Buckingham Palace if you are in the area. Wortha combo ticket with the Queens Gallery.
D. P.
Carriages locked away. Nice doors though.
N. G.
Everyone must visit this inauspiciously named venue. The sheer opulence and crafstmanship of the carriages etc leaves you in awe, yet makes you think about class divide throughout the ages and where the balance point is between sheer decadence and fair treatment of ordinary people.
A. A. A.
The royal MEWS near Buckingham palace, has a great display of the Queen's range of carriages used over all these years. Some of them are really impressive, all gold plated, finely designed...
I. W.
I was Surprised at how much I enjoyed this event that I went back again with my son aswell only takes an hour or so but make sure you go on the free guided tour and both times I did I had different knowledge shared.
J. W.
Popped in here to escape the rain but so glad I did the carriages were lovely especially the coronation and jubilee, highly recommended.
C. W.
Worth a visit. I suggest getting the Royal Day Out pass to visit The Queen's Gallery, The Royal Mews, and The State Rooms all together. This will take about four hours all up if you want to take it all in
C. E.
Very nice place, well maintain. We have a great time with the group of girlfriends that I went, the worker's/volunteers that are in the Royal mews were helpful and kind with the group.
J. K.
Was part of our London pass for me it was a great pop in take a quick audio tour and head out after our palace tour idk if it's worth 9 pounds but pretty cool.
T. “. B. C.
Very interesting and nice audio stories!
S. O.
My granddaughter loved seeing all the Royal carriages. It doesn't take much time. It's a good place to visit.
I. M.
Great to check the coaches and horses.
Excellent for kids. Doesn't worth it check it you have limit time in London but for those with more time is a great option.
B. B.
We only saw a part of this, with the entrance and menage
Great staff who are friendly and helpful
R. B.
Make time to see this - so much more than just a collection of carriages. See if you can find the one Father Christmas has been using since Queen Victoria's day.
J. H.
Beautiful carriages gold coach used for royal weddings coronations etc .many more ornate and wonderful coaches and some cars.well worth the visit.
I. S.
Very interesting tour of the working stables for the Queen. Get up close to the horses and the carriages that are used on state occasions. Well worth a visit.
G. N. (. P. M.
More interesting than I anticipated. Worth the visit. Great collection of carriages used throughout the years. Next door to the art gallery
L. B.
Really interesting to see and Well prepared, not too crowded. The audioguides give very much Information and if you want even more you can listen to the Guide working there
W. V.
A lovely place too visit, there weren't many people there like most other tourist attractions in London, and I don't know why cause it was one of the best attractions I've visited on my trip. Definitely worth a visit!
h. b.
Meh... if you are at the Buckingham palace, then might be good to go see. Few horses. Lots of mews. Couple nice classic cars.
Basically, you could spend your time better elsewhere.
S. P.
The carriages were beautiful but only 4 horses were on show to the public. I was told there were 32 horses altogether!!!. Disappointing as we really only wanted to see the horses.
E. W.
Kids said it was epic. They loved the golden carriage. It really is something than needs to seen in real life to understand how amazing and big it is.
T. W.
Such a cool place with so much to see
L. R.
So Granny and two children (6 and 4) visited the Royal Mews on Sunday.
All most enjoyable, and I wish to share the following conversation:
We are looking at one of the State Coaches, which has alongside it screen footage of Her Majesty leaving Buckingham Palace, loaded with ermine, velvet and diamonds, accompanied by Household Cavalry, bands, the whole works.
Conversation goes thus:
Granny: "Oh look Alastair, there goes the Queen, to open Parliament I daresay"
Footage then cuts to carriage and accompaniments trundling up the Mall, and into Buck Pal again.
Granny: "And here they are coming back again"
Alastair: "Oh - did she forget something?"
What joy
S. W.
Had a great time Liz is a fabulous cook and a stand-up gal. She gets a come dine with me 9/10. She lost 1 because of there was only 20 bathrooms
C. B.
Enjoyed a visit here. Arriving at 11 I was taken on the guided tour, not sure if this is a daily occurrence. The tour itself was informative and it is worth a visit to the Royal Mews if in the area.
J. M.
Set my heart on fire - horses, incredible stables, carriages and cars. Multimedia guide - very comprehensive. A must visit - add it to your list.
J. C.
Great place to see the behind the scenes working of the palace. Take a look at the Royal family's modes of transportation and the stables themselves. The Queen names the horses!
N. M.
Fantastic history... seeing the carriages up close is a big hit xxx with the added bonus of a carriage to sit in. I felt like a royal
L. B.
Fun afternoon visiting the coach and horses. The ticket lasts a year so if you visit more than once it's great value.
K. B.
Interesting place. Wont take long to get through it.
C. F.
On our visit there were only a few horses housed in the stables as they were at Balmoral. The coaches are amazing. The guides were very knowledgeable.
M. P.
Awesome great show if coaches, one car and 2 horses. Granddaughter wants to see more horses
C. G.
A must see if you are in London. The grounds are just as beautiful as the Palace. Plan on spending some time here, there is a lot to see.
J. D.
Great exhibits of the carriages. I would have liked to see more horses and cars, but they were off property when we visited.
H. F.
Great place to visit , you get to see the royal carriages and cars, the horses along with all the palace staff living quarters from a far. Gives a deal sense of how it's a working palace
T. V.
This is a sleeper! Not many visitors, and that's too bad! Excellent displays of carriages, automobiles, and the two horses present.
T. J. B.
This is a fairly brief tour. You're mainly looking at carriages and uniforms. I appreciated that they had activities for kids.
A. I.
Only downside is that we can't fuss the horses there which is kind of silly if you ask me! All horses like affection, regardless of who they are owned by!
S. M. H.
The royal stables have a fine tour of the various royal vehicles, especially the coronet carriage is an impressive sight.
T. S.
Lots of royal carriages that they use for prossesions for members of the Royal Family. Stables too for the horses but was only two horses on my visit. Cheap entry prices.
J. A.
Interesting display of Royal carriages and their history. Part of a joint ticket for the Royal Picture Gallery too. This was better than I had expected.
B. L.
It was cool to see the horses and the various royal carriages. However, this seemed like a very short tour for £9. I expected a little more for that price.
H. M.
Excellent guided tour of the Royal Mews. Loved the details described of the carriages as well as the craftsmanship and the unofficial royal love hate relationship with each.
D. G.
Very interesting and the carriages are pretty spectacular so close up. A fascinating visit
S. P.
nice view
T. C.
The guide your is very good since it helps to better understand what's shown and other curiosities. Don't buy the book at the begging it doesn't worth.
S. D.
Fascinating to see the horses and carriages up close and to learn more about them. For example, the Queen names all the horses herself!
G. L. L.
I liked it. I would have liked if someone could have explain why Windsor Gray's are used versus draft animals. Also if the offspring of previous animals have served.
G. L.
Good experience. Staff is very courteous and friendly and helpful. Contains royal transport used by queen Elizabeth and her blood line. Good place to visit.
K. (.
A small museum. A nice view of all of the royal carriages and how the horses play their part. A bit pricey and surprisingly short.
G. B.
It's a nice place if you like royals or horses, just really not my thing. Nice and we'll kept.

Was great to see the old vehicle who look brand new, luxurios and amazing.
One big minus, at Royal Mews are just two horses.

Worth visiting. Great to see in person carriages etc only seen on tv or in pictures. History worth it.
N. J.
This is the muse of british royal family in backingham palace. This is in bakingham palace since 1820s. Before that it was at Charing cross. This is one of major attractions for tourists in London.
D. B.
Very interesting especially with a tour from a knowledgable member if staff. Daniel showed me round today thoroughly enjoyed it
S. S.
A good place to be if you are fond of royal history. You'd get to know the history behind the royal mews owned and used by the British monarchs.
C. K.
Very cool, less popular attraction to see. Definitely worth seeing if you have the time.
A. Z.
Take the tour they offer for free, much better than the audio guide! The tour takes about an hour. Worth a visit!
V. C.
Fantastic interactive tour for families. If you are thinking of coming then do book in advance
C. F.
See the carriages and coaches and some of the vehicles used by the Royal family and the regalia used on the horses. Very interesting
N. K.
Underrated attraction. The Queen's carriages hold great significance and were designed carefully with great precision.
D. M.
Well worth a visit as part of the royal day out package to Buckingham palace. Only takes a few minutes to see it all so would be less good standalone
M. M.
Amazing history.
N. A. P.
If you ever go to London you must visit this place!! They have horses!! Ask for Meg the horse!!
P. M.
Just great to feel the aura of the place and the smell of the horses. However the gold coach defies description, no words will ever be enough
A. V.
Very impressive. You'll see every carriage used by the royal family and will be explained in what occasion they use them.
T. L.
Very nice place friendly staff. Wheelchair friendly nice shop to buy souvenirs. An interesting place to visit I would go again.
Q.
Nice to visit but a bit pricey for what it is. If you're a royalty fan, you be glad you visited. If not, then maybe not worth your time (nor money).
R. R.
Beautiful horses and carriages, well organised and friendly staff dedicated to the Queen and her horses.
M. M.

A. D.
Great easter egg hunt organised for kids. Free audio guides & ticket valid for 12 months.

A. K.
Great history behind the carriages. Be sure to pick up the audio guide at the entrance.
S. G.
Just stunning must visit lots of people from around the world there great atmosphere truely must see
G. F.
Really love the way that the traditional steps to running the mews have been kept and the skills are still being passed on so we will not lose them which is hard to do in the days of getting things done faster and using technology to remove human skills, which is a shame to lose completely.
T. M.
Over priced for what it was. Disappointed we only could see 2 horses, and not the whole barn. Not sure I would recommend or do it again.
C. M.
This is worth the trip and time it takes to get there. Combine with Buck House or Queens Gallery, fantastic experience.
