Visited The other art fair at Truman Brewery, had no problem parking and the exhibits were so inspirational. Meeting the artists was such a treat.

The east end art and commerce machine, that manages to hold onto it core values and allow creativity to flourish. A stones throw from the city. Expect to see and experience, every facet of the creative world any any given day. Keep east creative

I attend loads of sample sales at this location. Very clean and organised events. No toilet facilities. But there are restaurants and pubs near by. Outside there was a Welsh fair on this particular day. Selling food and drink from small Welsh businesses which me and my daughter attended. We purchased, loads of tasty different food and drinks. Which we both enjoyed 😉 😏

Came here for the F.R.I.E.N.D.S FEST.
OMG AMAZING, AMAZING. I went with my friend Ian, the two of us were speechless..we were both amazed by all the different aspects they incorporated. We knew Monica's apartment and Joey's apartment and cafe would be there, but the rest was an added bonus!
The dance routine, Monica's Turkey head dance were just hilarious🤣 really added to the event. My favourite was the floated heads. They really though of everything.
Queuing system and the number of people was well though out.
Because of covid cameras were set up, which was a great idea. Sanitizer was on every station too.
To top to it, everyone was soo happy, helpful and we all came together as F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
Everyone was laughing, smiling and just having the time of their life.❤🤣😆
M. L.
Cool and trendy, little slow with service, but would return. Good music and vibe.
C. B.
Great spot for in east london. Love all the small shops/food stalls.

Love this place really changed it to be so different in a few steps. Modern market then old buildings mix together. Good food and cloths..

The Truman Brewery, once a derelict building, is now some would argue, the focal point of Brick Lane.
It's an event space primarily where lots of companies hold special events such as launch product launches or other fancy event for media such as beer festivals, and chocolate festivals.
Not much has been done to spruce the place up, but that's the charm of it. Its industrial chic looks is exactly the kind of style that its trendy neighbourhood demands. It's an enormous place occupying hosting 3+ floors, and on weekends especially on Sundays, it plays host to a lively food and vintage market which well worth a look.
Keep an eye on What's On on their website, and come visit if you're in the area on a Sunday for some top nosh and/or looking for a unique gift for yourself or a love one.

Brilliant venue off #Brick Lane and hosting The Other Art Fair October 14-17 2021 and including Me, My Brain & I
M. B.
A big old building. I couldn't see any wheel chair access and it IS up quite a few stairs. The toilets are very clean and the staff were all incredibly friendly. Made it a great evening for us. 9/10

London Christmas Beer festival, such an excellent day out!

The Truman brewery has a lot of unique shoes and pop ups. Also they do a great food court with delicious different types of food, my favourite are the Tibetan momos they have, beef, pork, chicken, prawn and vegetables. They are filled generously and excellent value for money and delicious. In the basement they have a wonderful vintage bazaar of sellers. I have found winter coats to summer aloha shirts... You just can find so many things in one place with excellent value for money. Different sample sales take place here as well and different fashion fairs.

I went here for the Craft Beer Rising 2017 festival. What an awesome space to put on such a massive event in the middle of London. There must have been close to 100 different stalls each selling 3-4 beers each. From memory i think there were 4 big warehouse sized spaces each stocked with beer/wine/lager and food stalls the atmosphere was intensively awesome!! Definitely going to try and get in again!!!!
J. D.
Went to beer and craft festival - great evening with lots of beers and crafts. Made a wreath which was very enjoyable. Good entertainment also.
S. R.
Attended the London Dessert Festival.
Overall the venue was okay but I would have liked it to be a bit more decorated all over and welcoming. It did seem like a big, open, empty space.
The entrance was quite difficult to find and I ended up having to stand in the rain for 20mins before being let in. It would be nice to accommodate to rain.
The toilets were clean and easily accessible. Outdoor space was small but pretty.
Overall it's a great venue space but I feel the organisers did not use it to their advantage.
M. D.
What a lovely event down in this old brewery. House of vegan is hosting a weekly vegan event every weekend down here and particularly my favourite was the vegan "fish" n chip store there, which I couldn't resist not to share their food picture. It's so hard to tell whether the food is vegan!
J. W.
Full of vintage clothing stalls, lots of bars, hipsters, tourists. Definitely signs of the fate of most of these types of places creeping in. Gentrification, chain restaurants and bars, expensive flats that drive out the reason, the edginess, that drive people to visit it in the first place. My advice, enjoy it now, it will soon follow Camden, Shoreditch, Brixton etc into corporate dullness.
D. R.
So much to see around this whole area ... a few food and coffee places open at the moment for the workers in the area ... once it opens up again this is one of my most favourite places to visit in London
R.
I’ve been here a few times, most recently for a coffee festival.
The venue is large and you can easily get lost when it’s busy and lots of people are there.
It’s perfect for hosting events and product festivals.
The building is a bit run down in places but that kind of makes it what it is and adds to its character.
R. D.
A fantastic place to spend the afternoon on a Saturday with plenty of food stalls indoors and around the Brewery. The Ethiopian stall with the veg food was ridiculously good and healthy. There's also an innovative brownie shop at the side of the brewery called Crumb De la Crème that has Cadbury Creme brownie eggs. Which is basically a creme egg wrapped in a chocolate brownie and dipped in chocolate and sprinkles!
Delicious and definitely deserves a try for those with sweet tooths!
S. M.
Nice vibe, super busy, definitely worth checking out if you are around shorditch/brick lane area, not the cleanest but this is what you would expect from a market style setting.
C. O.
Lovely place, quiet once all the bars close. Security controlled access so you need a reason to be there at 3am in the morning. Great atmosphere when everything is open, good choice of food too.
C. M.
This was probably a large warehouse in the past- so its not a cosy pub. Very busy and was getting busier. Does serve food and customers seemed to varied ages.
K. B.
Great day at the MLB London Yard event. Only downside to this was we had pre-booked tickets but they were letting anyone in anyways if they registered on door. This made it impossible to try things out as it was so busy for people with tickets.
A. C.
The most special place to be in weekends at Truman Brewery on my streetHanbury. Not only food market and vintage market nut Adrian Boswell atelier, vinil shop and Brick Lane shops qnd food stalls, next Spitalfields, it's a really something upbeat to be in my area in weekends. Not forgetting Van Gogh Gallery and Wosley church, and Attic vintage and of course my tiny feminist library A book for second home, amazing place. As well, always queue, ha ha ha at famous shop for old camera film, nice young artists, it's hope on this planet. And the community hub food Canvas, vegan of course 😋, nice people eating and working there, make me feel home. Street art everywhere, of course there is tours for street art and I need to go through them on pavement when I'm cominghome, ha ha ha, because they block traffic. And don't forget Jack The Ripper and crimes and you have 10 Bells pub n the corner. And nice shops, All Saints, the most hip Adidas shop, YMC, big brands outlet in the yard at Truman Brewery and the most special public WC in town, ha ha ha, Humphrey Bogart guard it. Come here and you'll discover true art spirit of London and a pleasant place to hanging out for all, children, young people and adults. Age it doesn't matter here all you will feel ageless and a whole human being. It's like humanity still have a hope. And all people here deserve and are proud to be part of it. Of course, all of us here we want to save the planet earth 🌏. Is not planet B. And all of us trying our best we are involving in sustainable communities and economy.
Come here and I guarantee that, you will have the best time out ever.

Excellent venue, was there for the Friends Festival, great experience, friendly staff and local parking was also a bonus !
S. H.
Without doubt the best time to experience this hectic, buzzing indoor market is on a Sunday around midday. Coming in from Brick Lane you'll see inside around forty different food vendors however I find it best to start from the Ely's Yard entrance in Hanbury Street to take a leisurely stroll through the craft market half selling everything from handmade accessories to vintage clothing and then to the food area where you can easily eat yourself around the world with food from Mexico to Singapore and so on plus the nifty little produce section with amazing collections of spreads and bakes to take home. Overall if you're in the area this is one you need to tick off your list before you head further down for the rest of your Brick Lane Sunday experience.
T. S.
Only downside to this amazing space for hosting events with simultaneous panels is that when it's busy, it's near impossible to stop sound from entering other talks. I hosted a conference on tech and media at Mad//Fest and was fighting against acoustics throughout, but otherwise this space is huge and gives great vibes. Perfect for creative companies, fashion shows, or conferences requiring break out sessions.
M. l.
It's funky and always inspiring for an look round, a snck or a drink..the best 'alternative' location in London
J. M.
Great place! We saw Friends Fest here and there was loads of space to move around, loved the day!
M. R.
The place where the brewery used to be is now fancy place with shops, cafes popular with graffiti and one of Banksi's works. Take a guide to take you through it.
F. E.
Great space for exhibiting artist -the other art fair
T. T.
Very intimate atmosphere. House white wine was incredible!
K. A.
Nice vibes, good drinks. They also have outside seating and often the visitors there make good conversation. Highly recommended
O. S.
An excellent venue for the New Artists Exhibition.
Located off Brick Lane in Shoreditch this is an iconic space containing a large number of businesses and event spaces as well as an indoor and outdoor market.
Certainly palace to visit if you are ever in Shoreditch.
A. N.
Not bad way to burn a few hours as you wander, take in the people and street art, and do some art, vintage, and other shopping.
G. W.
You can walk around this place and be offered 20 or more tasters!
Yummy food
J. V.
Nice place - went for the London Coffee Festival and found the vast number of pillars made it hard to navigate crowds. Wouldn't advise such events for wheelchair users.
P. F.
Fabulous time, talking with the artists, most enjoyable 👍
J. S.
Such a great space. I recently visited for the Silicon Milk Roundabout technology event and had a really good time. The place looked good and was really well organised.
C. B.
Love this picture, hard to believe that it is concrete, the actual place has changed a lot since I last came here, but it's worth a try.
s.
One of the best place what i can recomand in London,is a multicultural place near to Algate verry nice place with a big market place
The food is not the best but the people ar amazing in that loction
Is...a nice place!!!
B. E.
Really nice and wide range of street food on a weekend
R. C.
Went to the Jobbbio Event here, it was a brilliant social event perfect for this very urban, but edgy, and very modern venue. Loved it!!
N. W.
Nice place but gets quite busy during weekends
D. F. L.
Great atmosphere, vibrant variety of world foods. A must place to visit of the heart of East end
j. m.
Man and van on the move recently done on office move security guards were very helpful with us accessing the gates and keeping the premises secure
A. f.
Coffee festival in London Amazing day back tomorrow... Really nice place to visit and promoting yourself...
G. R.
The Trueman Brewery has lots of different spaces along Brick Lane so when it advertises events they usually are not in the Old Trueman Brewery but along Brick Lane?? It's confusing to find the correct venue when they do not give the proper address!
M. L.
Nice venue. Toilets were immaculate. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful
E. G.
Always go here for the food, fantastic and great value, Al fresco, no need for air conditioning and lots of different food from different countries to choose from.
L. S.
A nice historic monument that is part of a much more interesting brick street vibe.
M. B.
Founded here in the 17th century, Truman's Black Eagle Brewery
was, by the 1850s, the largest brewery in the world. Spread over a
series of brick buildings and yards straddling both sides of Brick
Lane, the complex is now completely given over to edgy markets,
pop-up fashion stores, vintage clothes shops, indie record hunters,
cafes, bars and live-music venues. Beer may not be brewed here any
more, but it certainly is consumed.
After decades of decline, Truman's Brewery finally shut up shop in
1989 – temporarily as it turned out, with the brand subsequently
resurrected in 2010 in new premises in Hackney Wick. In the 1990s
the abandoned brewery premises found new purpose as a deadly
cool hub for boozy Britpoppers and while it may not have quite the
same cachet today, it's still plenty popular.
Several of the buildings are heritage listed, including the Director's
House at 91 Brick Lane (built in the 1740s); the old Vat House
directly opposite, with its hexagonal bell tower (c 1800); and the
Engineer’s House right next to it (at 150 Brick Lane), dating from the
1830s.

Lovely place to have a couples of beers, we enjoyed the weather outside in the terrace, the waitress was lovely and quick with our drinks. The toilet were clean and rmthey are really concern about the covid instructions. One of the best ways to end a fabulous and calm Sunday.
E. D.
So around this old brewery you now have some great street art pieces by the likes of Obey. The London Police. D*Face and more. Pop up shops, a skate shop, of course Rough Trade East record shop. They are plenty of stalls selling all types of food, some nice bars and a very good car park opposite with great all day / night prices. Very cool spot still.
V. C.
Always come here to get my London buzz. Lots of creative vendors to see and lush street food...try Mr Sausage 😉
J. B.
Fabulous range of food stalls. Buzzing atmosphere. Delicious!!
M. “. A.
Not impressed by the sides so much and I tried pretty much all of them. Burgers however, namely the lamb one that I ordered was super tasty. My regret was not getting it with another patty inside for an additional 4 quid as burger is quite small compared to other burger places and it did feel a bit pricey (10 quid almost) just for the small burger.
V. N.
Great expo space with plenty of room for everything. Visited it during London coffee festival and haven’t been disappointed.
P. P.
Amazing experience at the London Coffee Festival. Really needed that atmosphere back, after months of being secluded to our own coffee workaholic selves
P. K.
Fun place to stroll around, have a pint or two and enjoy the street art.
A. K.
Great pub on Hanbury street next to Spitalfields and brick lane market
K. J.
Nice market, good food! Slightly overpriced "vintage" shops.
A. S. I.
Went to a Martha Wainwright show here at the record store "Rough Trade East". It was fun. I didn't get to explore the area more though. It's a bunch of venues converted from old warehouse space. Would like to explore it more.
M. M.
Walked past this place and it was a great place to walk past.
Not sure if you can go in and buy cheap, freshly brewed beer or not...
A. R.
Brilliant way to spend a Sunday morning. The food and vintage Market were great.
i.
Great venue! Lots of cool people, great food and drinks.
Had a great time here
D. A.
My Baby took me to The Christmas Beer Festival!
There was soooo much more than beer...
D.
Absolutely beautiful venue and incredibly vibrant area. Would highly recommend.
C.
Spacious, events are well organised the a bit confusing with levels and finding way around in case of big event
R. S.
Was there for the Other Art Fair and it's quite a nice venue.
E.
Vegan nights. Good good good music. Like a relaxed day rave..
M. “. P.
Classic London pub. Depending on the time of day, you'll likely be the youngest patron, but that's not a bad thing. Bring cash. Have a beer after you try the jellied eels or beef pie at Arment's around the corner.
S. A.
Really nice Saturday and Sunday exotic food stalls. Lots of Hot food options to choose from.
J. C.
This part of the East end is changing some might say for the better, but not in my opinion although change is inevitable some things are best left alone, I still love this part of town but somewhere along the line, Greedy developers came along and bought up much of this area creating a soulless space, seen it with Soho...Lost London
B. S.
Good event space. Not much parking around.
H. E.
Lovely place to hang out on Sunday!
G. P.
Great space, visited for the London Christmas beer festival.
M. i.
Well nice, bit to high end as a matter of personal taste but good place nice mix of standard folk plus fruits plus hipster, I mean yeah not bad 23 rasta badges
C. L.
Loved. Location brill. Staff brill. Drinks super
A. A.
Lovely offices in east London off brick lane Shoreditch
G. B.
I really love coming to this place, an iconic Brick Lane institute with lots to do and see. Great in summer!!
S. N.
A decent venue for events.
K. J.
Coffee Festival ... Great if you love coffee and I do 😎
D. D.
It s a wonderful street ! Its close to brick lane, where you could see a greats works print to the walls
P. S.
We came here for Top Golf. Had a fantastic evening, great customer service too.
M. W.
A really vibrant foody area...we tried no dairy ice-cream for the first time here and loved it....just off the amazing Brick Lane...go there.
T. Z.
Really great place. Attended BrewLDN at this venue. Plenty of room to host this event over two floors. Fairly well located within a 10/15 minute walk of Liverpool Street Underground Station.
R.
Wedding Fair frolics
G. S.
Not my sort of place.
For trendy people, I'm old fashioned, so a lot of people will enjoy this place.
Not very welcoming, lots of tall buildings causes dark streets and roads.
I work nights and drive down here when on a break to get a bagel.
So I see the otherside of this place, beggers and people of the night.
Not my cup of tea but I'm sure its very busy.
A. A.
Visiting the junkyard Golf great place for a date. Fun and chilled lots of drinks of offer.
d. s.
Illustration Exhibition held here it was brilliant. Live music cheep booze. Exhibition was brilliant.
V. B.
Beautiful flearmarket, nice people, very good
T. S.
This is a jewel in the heart of the East End and we're about to lose it. If you've ever been here and loved it's wonderful mix of popup shops, galleries and street food then do what you can to stop Tower Hamlets granting planning permission for a mall and penthouse flats. It would be a totally barbaric act with total disregard for the views and quality of life for the local community. Please do what you can to stop the destruction of the Truman Brewery.
E. B.
In the brick line at Shoreditch you can find markets and places like this while enjoying vibrant urban street art.
C. J.
Brilliantly versatile venue with hip events
A. D.
Never been inside but just love the look of the tower !!
Z. M.
Open air space with several food stalls offering dishes from around Asia. A vibrant atmosphere with smells n sounds.
C. G.
This is a very nice places to spend some time with friend or girlfriend.
Or if you wish even by yourself ☺️
J. B.
Been browsing around here for years - never get tired of the East end experience
P. F.
Great multi purpose venue. Contains excellent crazy golf bar along with other bars and restaurants.
S. D.
As venues go, it's fine, this was the London Coffee show, and unsurprisingly with lots of coffee being brewed it was warm! Security staff were a bit over efficious on exit doors and not helpful or knowledgeable re the venue. However I saw what I wanted to see, and I'd try another event there.
B. K.
Great place, weekend market very good and variety of food to taste. New launch fried ice cream wow very tasty and addictive. Good flavours ,must try sweet potato.
R. A.
Great options to choose from and loads variety
A. P.
Old Truman Brewery is a good destination for any art or industry fairs or sample sales. I have been there to All Saints sample sale and London Coffee Festival. There has also been a tattoo convention there. It has got a lot of hidden spaces, a couple of floors as well. It is a good place to visit and promote your brand.
O. A.
Easy to find and nice place for events
R. W.
It's been many years since I went to the Truman brewery. When I visited it just now, it was a funky, hip environment. There were clubs in the building, an amazing vibe and very trendy people. I am definitely bringing work colleagues here for an after work fun activity.
M. M.
Was there before covid and it was amazing, came back to try their hot chcoclate. It was nice but I did expected more. I was reccomend salted caramel but honestly I did not taste any caramel flavour. Should have gone for classic one. Unfortunately there is no more chocolates to buy in store probably due to covid. Hopefully it will go back to normal in the future!
J. F.
Very nice. Enjoy yourself and take care
M. R.
Today I met the most amazing people in the coffee industry. I learned the most remarkable stories. Saw the most amazing products
K. S.
I really love this venue for events and markets. I’ve been here for everything from trade shows to markets to beer festivals and it never fails to delight. It’s got a great feeling and the layouts are really variable, allowing each event to very much create their own vibe.
Highly recommended
A. S.
Slightly tatty area. Some specialist boutique's. The further up towards the railway you go the worse it is. More towards Liverpool St there are some new bars restaurants and more new boutiques.
M. B.
Junkyard golf is superb fun! Need to go back for the other courses
T.
Fantastic place to visit
Put it on your to do list even if you do live there 😉
A. M.
First time ever to visit and some amazing shops and indoor market, well worth a look.
A. A.
Went to do cider tasting, a board of 8 half pints for £10. Totally worth it and from that was able to recommend to friend best cider. Also had fruit pizza. Great vibe, in house do playing Rn'b music. Great night out with friends with In house entertainment
M. S.
Visited a couple of photography exhibitions in the Old Brewery. Particularly good was the British Press Photographers' Association. The large space allows for a lot of people to go round without being too crowded. Good location too next to lots of places to grab a coffee or something to eat.
S. P.
I’ve been here for so many different pop-up shops and events. It’s a space which is well used, and can be used for pretty much anything. I’ve been to video game promo events, food stalls, talks, etc. If there is something going on here, you can bet on it being good and worth your time. If you are someone looking for a space to use, this place works because it’s got good foot traffic, and so much going on around it.
M. D.
Highly versatile venue and the home of a number of annual events, including the London Coffee Festival. The management are incredibly helpful and have made it possible for wheelchair users to access upper parts of whatever they're visiting via the goods lift - security escort to get through the crowds to the lift was a wonderful bonus, too.
Well worth checking to see what's on the schedule.
J. “. n. K.
Visited during the MLB London event in the quite hours. Enough space and weather was nice with helps big time to create a good atmosphere. Not sure what the purpose is for any other day for this location
2.
A great vintage vinyl record stall there. Well worth a visit
S. C.
Nice place with different food, bars and shopping surrounding the area
A. B.
Was here for the London Coffee Festival 18, and the venue is nice and spacious. It serves as the perfect venue for an exhibition, with multiple different halls segregating the different themes and exhibitors.
My main issue with the place is a lack of clear directions - at one point, it took me nearly 10 minutes to get out of the building as I just seemed to be circulating the halls again and again looking for the exit. Clearer exits please next time guys!
j. h.
Come here to have people walk right through you as if you didn't exist! Apart from that...it's a fabulous place to have your wallet ripped open by vintage clothing, vinyl, or street food and market vendors. I actually quite like it :)
K. E.
CBR 2019, another excellent craft beer festival
D. E.
We went their four three Talented Art Fair and this venue worked very well for that both in location, the size and easy access to the Brewery for the Fair and also the restaurants and bars close by.
T. R.
Many exotic street food vendors
T.
Lovely place. Nice space inside and outside. Located famous Brick Lane. Visited here few time with friends. Very busy and famous place. Many events and exhibitions held here. It will be great excitement for you. Nearest station is Shoreditch but you can use Aldgate East or Liverpool Street Station too if you walk little bit.
M. G.
Great range of different shops, businesses and cafes/eateries
O. B.
History and crazy urban golf in one place, what's not to like?? Course was amazing and great time spent with people. I will return to try a different course.
If possible though, I'd recommend not buying drinks there. Over £6 for a small can of beer is expensive, even for London.
O. D.
Always a great place to wander around forget trying to park anyway near this place.
there always something on and new art to look at and different selection of pop up shops every time l visit. l tend to go for the selection of international street food from Mexico to Angolan. . Be brave a try the food you never seen before. Ps it safe but can get packed
S. B.
Visited part of this massive regenerated site to attend the Talented Art Fair held annually over one weekend every March. Excellent blank canvas space with white walls, concrete floors and good toilet facilities. Great venue.
B. F.
Nice place to sit and people watch while sipping on your favourite poison. This establishment is situated in Brick lane, East London, street entertainers, food stalls, plenty of art work. Please visit👍🏽
K.
Easy to find and good access.
O. V.
Coffee festival event, OK but complicated directions inside building for visitors
C. C.
Pretty interesting area with lots of buzzing life and independent shops. can get really busy and narrow pavements in some places. Not all is made or pushchair friendly so plan well ahead if you're going there with a pushchair.
M. Z.
It's great and spacious, great for larger events. I would imagine would be great for an art exhibition too. Great urban space, steeped in so much history. I went for a Sweatty Betty festival, when they overtakem most of the apace, it's really good for customer facing, interactive shows, I would imagine will be good for gallery, art display too, as lighting is quite good and it's exceptionally spacious, despite some unusual nooks in places....
K. R.
Lovely venue in a great area. Went there for Unbound London which was a fantastic event as well. Truman Brewery is very easy to reach by public transport and there are many places for lunch, coffee and drinks around. In close proximity to Spitalfields Market as well.
S. P.
Unique and trendy venue. Plenty to see, do and drink here. Bit pricy, as expected in the area but an experience all the same. Bars are a bit on the spit and sawdust side and the prices don't really reflect that. Not a place I would entertain any under 18's but there is fun galore to be had and staff are not at all up tight. The security were very reasonable. Though they do ask for I.d. On most occasions, common sense prevailed when my friend (who is, and looks 26) had none. Junk yard golf is a great choice if you are with a group.
e. w.
I was actually expecting an operating brewery, but this is really an event space. It's huge on the inside, which is welcome. There was 's a lots of room for people to move around, even with a crowd of ~250-300 with tables, booths, bars, etc. There was outdoor space out of the back too which was nice. And, proper toilets!
B. R. D.
Excellent location but had a slightly disappointing experience for new years eve. but that would have been down to the organisers rather than the venue. They were advertising the event as 4 floors of DJs and charged £30 each but when we finally got in we found there was only 2 dance rooms on the same floor. Very misleading and expensive!! Have had good experiences other times though.
W. D.
Ok little spot for pop up events. There is a lot of through traffic as a well known spot for events and food. There are also slot of little designee outlets there too for shopping. The building is a little tatty buy has great open spaces the roof has a view to die for.
L. W.
I was really gutted to miss that reggae DJ David Rodigan I was in another pub can you believe that hopefully he come back again and I'll be there I downloaded it on YouTube and it looks really really good
R. S.
I've been to plenty of exhibitions, fairs and shows here over the past few years. The Truman Brewery space upstairs is a nice, light and flexible space which offers a nice open and relaxed atmosphere for the event which is taking place.
Events happening here always go down well, and always have a good turnout from locals.
E. B.
Visited this place for the opening of the Junkyard golf venue (mini golf) in the basement. Very innovative, retro and funny golf course, drinks are available on the golf course from three different small bars. On the ground floor is a larger bar and a good part that serves either sausages or toasted sandwiches. I went for the peanut butter, banana and bacon toastie, it was super yummy. All in all a fun place to visit as a group.
T. J.
Great venue of coffee and whisky festivals. Many stands and wonderful period buildings. Bit arkward to access the lift to load into the venue rooms always big queues but that's apart of the industry
G. D. (.
Saw a movie on the roof in the summer. Bustling venue with an eclectic mox of different activities you can do there. Great time seeing the movie with blankets and bean bags. Would go again.
w. e.
Got to check out mother clucker if you are close by
S. M.
Scary how brick lane has become the hipster trend
G. R.
Great open space for the coffee festival.

Nice place to relax and chat with friends specially during the sunny days. The atmosphere here is friendly and relaxed. With many options to eat and drink. If there is no space to si people sit just down on the ground without any doubt :)
M. B. D.
Excellent atmosphere & friendly staff. Security. The kind of place where if you are alone you won't be for long. Can not praise it high enough. Multicultural & bags of fun .
J. B.
Great 👍 place to visit. Loads of good street food stalls. Plenty to do great designer shops and bars 🍸. Best time to visit Friday night Saturday night and Sunday evening 😀.
C. B.
Lots of trendy events happening here and around here. Been coming to the Sunday Market for a few years now - kind of an alternative, less touristic version of the Spitafield Market next door. Good options for street food on Sunday - and a bunch more out on its East side, on Brick Lane. Fashion events happen here as well.
D. R.
Incredible place... atmosphere on a Sunday is buzzing. Recommended
C. P.
Lovely place in Bricklane with various food stalls offering lunch or a quick bite. Visited on Sunday and as expected the place was full with tourists around the world. Friendly atmosphere but find it a bit pricey. Good place to spend your Sunday.
T. A.
Please go and support these small businesses, love little market places like this. Absolutely loved this amazing place which sold Karak Chai, 24k tea. Amazing tea and tasty Churros.
G. M.
Great little find for outside meal. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff.
J. U.
Came here for the Junkyard Golf crazy golf course they have setup.
The course is on a underground level and is quite large with multiple rooms you can't immediately see. The price for a round is reasonable however their drinks are pricey for the sizes (to be expected for such a place and being on Brick Lane).
The course itself has 3 different sets of 9 holes to choose from, they are all quite creative albeit having a 'homemade' feel to them.
Note they have quite loud music playing and do offer bag/jacket storage at a (small) cost.
I'd recommend it for a different night out.
A. S.
Always love this place when the Design fair is on
R. H.
Great food stalls and trucks, cafes, Rough Trade music, pop up arts and retail, plus week day car parking transforms into arts and crafts market or exhibition venue at weekends. Very much at heart of Shoreditch vibe
C. S.
Great pop up shops
H. D.
It was great working with the cast and crew of a great Netflix series.
F. S.
I went to a photography competition here recently, it was quite hard to find the specific unit in which it was hosted (lots of different Truman areas!), but once there it was well lit, friendly and fun. There are lots of cafes nearby to have a coffee and a chat.
l. c.
Was so nice to visit Brick Lane after so long...I wasn't disappointed nothing has changed good vibes...
A. R.
Disappointed with the few stalls inside, I am sure that there were more there on my previous visit, and the noise of the music, the group that I was with turned on their heels and got out of the place as quickly as possible.
They need better management in what is potentially a little gold mine
d. f.
Part of the Brick lane market area on a Sunday. Slightly down at heel. Market selling retro gear and food stalls with slightly higher than normal prices for food. Not sure it's worth a revisit but others may find that elusive item.
D. T.
A good place to go on a Sunday morning /afternoon. A few great street food stalls set up outside (mother cluckers is a favourite). In the summer there are often pop-up promotional things set up here too which can be good.
A.
Amazing place with changing events which are mostly food related.
S. V.
Great event space and really great surrounding area! It's a must go to if in the area as the markets and events hosted there are usually fantastic. London Coffee Festival is a favourite of mine!
S. F.
Came here for the London Coffee Festival in 2014 and although I was hugely looking forward to it, the place was so packed that I cant say I enjoyed it all that much. A cool space but perhaps events there need to be better organised to be able to handle big crowds
A. H.
Great place for all that is vintage!
D. K.
Great place to visit in the summer or dry days as most of the activity is outside. There are random events going on in this location throughout the year, so keep an eye out. It's a place for a young trendy crowd, great place to holler at some birds.
O. M.
Huge venue that usually hosts various independent vendors and has an overspill area for Nude coffee. Hosts the superb annual London Coffee festival. Very lively place anytime of the year though.
M. B.
Great location for food markets
K. T.
Good bars inside and some excellent street food.
R. C.
I've been here mostly for events and its a lovely space, clean and pleasant facilities with enough room for plenty of stalls and breathing space for loads of visitors. Plenty nearby, indoor food stands, places to sit down and get your breath.
S. R.
It's now Dark Sugars. The best chocolate shop on the planet. Ad some well know curry shops fill out the rest of the building's base. Best stop on Brick Lane. Whenever you go, save room for Dark Sugars (chocolate of all sorts, nuts, hot cocoa, gelato - all chocolate and all made in-house)
S. S.
Love the place and the atmosphere. Loaded with unusual stuffs that you generally dont find in your daily day to day life. Vintage Market is a must go on Thursdays and Fridays!!!
K. M.
I recently visited to view The Art of The Brick exhibition. The space is vast and put to good use and the exhibition so much fun! A real dynamic show with sculptures, videos and an interactive section at the end. The market style bars and eateries outside also add a certain something to the ambiance.
M. C.
Place to be visited and enjoyed!
It is a fantastic collection of people and interesting things...
Bricklane is the perfect location to find what you don’t know it possible to have... take it!
I love it during weekends
D. G.
Nice area with plenty of pop up shops and a few bars and street food spots. Worth a look around since the stores are so varied and many have quite original things for sale.
N. D.
Fantastic range of events, always something interesting going on. Especially the vegan food market, a vast selection of food on offer such as pie and mash, fish and chips, shijon ryori, donuts, and burgers. A real substitute and tasted great! You're just on brick lane so a great range of indian restaurants, bars and clubs.
W. O.
There was a vintage and handmade market going on, some interesting bits but not necessarily my cup of tea, and somewhat overpriced, but nice for a browse nonetheless
M. P.
Been here a few times now for different events, fantastic location and cool vibe. The inside is unglamourously plain and factory-ish with not the best acoustics, but you rarely notice when an event is going on.
A. H.
loved the food market, senses overload. The clothes market in the basement is very popular with every nationality and has something unique and bespoke for anyone if your prepared to delve in. a real treasure trove.
j. m.
Nice buildings. Some good food options. Brick Lane outside always touting for business. Some fashion shops and record store.
M. K.
Fantastic venue! So spacious with great facilities. Always go to the coffee festival here each year and it's always organised very professionally. It's also in a great location!
C. T.
The old Truman Brewery is one of my favourite London spots. It hosts a variety of consistently good festivals and exhibitions, from Free Ranger graduate art show (always interesting) to Coffee and Cake festivals (separate events). The space is big, white and massive, with a really nice East London industrial art feel. Reliably good.
E. B.
Good events and shops
R. P.
Great food market
P.
Hosts some great vintage markets and food stalls. This place is well worth a visit, especially if you want to support locally sourced and made pieces.
N. S.
A great place to spend time at with the family, tourists or for locals. Known for it's vintage clothes and colourful people. Lots of food options and in proximity to lots of attractions in the area.
E. M. D.
Plethora food options. Lots of decent seating too
S. S.
Totally awesome place for food and fun. Great way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon mooching about... be prepared to have a lot of food samples offered to you!
M. K.
A nice venue in east London.
I went there to a coffee festival last week - brill. event and a number of times to eat at one of the street food stalls on Saturdays - loved it.
M. P.
The place is amazing! Here for the design week with our brand Les Pieds de Biche on the Design Milk booth ! We create a lot of links with people working there!
A. H.
Went for a drink there with my son in law went in and found it wasn't open that night .the person I think was I charge was very apologetic gave us a pint. The pint was very good hope to go back agian soon.
E. R. M.
Nice venue for business parties
K. K.
There was no disabled/buggy access. I've been there for London Design Fair with my son. It was challenging to carry a buggy and a child together on the stairs
C. F.
Really cool conventions centre that also hosts street food markets. Worth taking a look at if you are around brick lane.
A. R.
Cool space, big and open, I went for an all day festival a few years back. Great time
M. P. S.
The Old Truman's brewery is the place of the moment, great exhibitions and events all year around. In an area that has completely transformed over the years into a vibrant diverse and creative centre it is today
T. E.
Top spot on Brick Lane for eating, drinking and general people watching. Home of Rough Trade East, arguably the best store for music in London town.
J. V.
Lovely venue for an event, big and sprawling.
Not the greatest disabled access as you have to go round the back of the building and ride in the freight elevator with the bins.
S. P. N.
Great to be here for the London coffee festival
I. K.
Love the market amazing shops, restaurants
E. M.
Went for coffee festival and it was great :)
M. A.
Large space but one half of the venue felt a bit cramped. Well run and with food and shopping options for before/ after whatever event you attend
G. A.
Very eclectic area. We'll worth a visit.
J. F.
Great place to hang out with my teenage daughter! Lots of food choices too!!
E. T.
I've never been to this particular festival before but it was fun! I think having been to Taste of London + Taste of Christmas etc may have dampened the effect of this festival though! It's just on a smaller scale and in what looks like a car park building and I have been spoiled by the sparkles and glitter of the other events!
Good points to note:
- As it's a smaller scale to the other big commercial food festivals that have been going for a while, there are less people and you could actually move around!
- More independent traders than ever! So many cakes that I wanted to eat!
- You can always find a seat at the demonstration shows (for Sunday anyway!)
- I SAW NADIYA who won the Great British Bakeoff 2015!!! I SAW NADIYA!! She was like 2 feet away from me! And she is one tiny lady but HOW COOL IS THAT????
- VIP tickets meant you get one glass of free prosecco, free goody bag filled with food and tea bags and drinks, a VIP wristband and access to VIP seating area, and also tickets to the wine and kids chocolate shows
- The 3 singing ladies were AMAZING!!!!
Things to improve:
- The decor could do with more uplifting
- You get slightly confused where to go but they do label areas with T1, T2, T3 etc all the way to T5
- There were a lot of alcohol. Wait, that's a good thing!
- The place was really hard to find.
I had an interesting experience. Some journalist lady came up to me and said she needed to have a photo taken of someone buying a Yum Dum donut. I was it. So I wandered over, got my pic taken and got a free zebra donut. YAY. I'm going to be famous! Let me know when you see me in some sort of promotion/publication/wanted list!
Whether to come or not: You should definitely come here if you like a lot of independent trader stalls, or if you like cakes, or if you like alcohol. You must come here and experience it at least once, and they take place all over the UK, all year round!
G. H.
Very varied from a Cultural and especially food perspective. Of yesteryear , the 1980's especially the Curry Houses were of special note, nowdays they are mostly Tourist traps. If you want a decent Curry head for Green Lanes Stratford E15, no end of better and cheaper choice. Hidden Gem , Pride of Spitalfields Pub. Do visit on Sunday where no end of variety of Products are on show, expect to pay though..
T. F.
Only been here on a Sunday but always have a great time. Friendly street food and market vendors with a wide selection of things to try and buy. Can sometimes be difficult to choose what to get to eat!
r. b.
we done a market stall here more trousers than anything but their is so much on offer and really nice busy vibes from everyone also great for a wonder around
k. n.
Really enjoyed the art exhibition and was pleased that our daughters University, Leeds University of the Arts, won 4 out of the 5 awards for the show. Highly recommend.
R. A.
A stunning venue with lots of history. Plays host to a lot of events throughout the year, along with markets over the weekend. Although saying that, it can get very hot and crowded at some of them!
L. Z.
Amazing place especially in summer and on Sundays! Great food stalls and delicious beer/ cold drinks! They have a lovely outdoor space in the backyard.
R. R.
Great venue and area in general. A brill place to spend a day wandering around the area, have a bite to eat and peruse the markets/events that are happening there.
S. D.
Friends Festive event was very well setup and arranged. Plenty of space and didn’t feel too crowded.
S. A.
Lots of different street food stalls. Excellent vibe
C. W.
Very friendly staff and a cool venue
M. W.
We always go there for London Coffee Festival!Great venue!
A. W.
Went on a Sunday and the place was filled with street food and clothing markets. If you're looking for some new threads this is the place to go. There's also some poster and jewellery stands about too.
I. S.
I was here to attend the D&AD Festival 2018. What an inspiring introduction to the world of design & advertising where a whole range of lectures, talks and interactive mediums were showcased such as virtual reality, augmented VR, experiments and research into typefaces, an opportunity to create a zen garden, learn about hearing and sight disabilities, learn about the Guardian newspaper and D&ADs future collaboration etc......I could not get enough of this festival. Bring on D&AD 2019...... can't wait!
a. b.
Rough Trade, one of the last real record chains left. All the independents have almost all gone. This one is great just to browse round, really love the one in Nottingham as well, maybe a better shop not just one vast space
S. C.
A totally different environment from other London places: ethnic food, street music, second hand vinyl shop, a large cd store with many stuff, a thriving market. Go just to see it!
L. P.
The factory buildings of The Old Truman Brewery have been adapted to be used as an exposition place. Lots of ample spaces, food services, at the time of the visit was hosting a series of expositions of the best breed of graduates of a group of Universities called Free Range 2016. The topics of the expositions were amongst others, photography, fashion, interior design, architecture, graphic design, etc.
A. M.
I tend to only go here for the craft beer rising festival each year. It's a great space for the event but it was difficult getting out this year as limited number of exits were open and (rightly so) leaving was slowed by staff due to the wet stairs being slippy.
D. F.
I recently went to the opening night of House of Peroni which has re-opened back on Brick Lane’s Truman Brewery. It’s not a bad setting but can’t help but think this grandeur of an experience is more apt central or west. Was a bit disappointed with the décor and design. Has an outside area and bar and though the drink cocktails involving Peroni were nice (some very weird – ice cream inside a cocktail anyone?). I doubt I’d go again.
L. M.
Very good space for conferences of various sizes. Next door is a fantastic pub called the Jugged Hare. Ate a beautiful pie there and the service was excellent.
S. E.
Really great event venue! Plus in this area you can grab an authentic curry at several old school brick lane locations. legend.
T. L.
I went to the London Coffee Festival . Massive warehouse. Amazing day out. Around the Brewery there was a delicious gelato place and funky shops.
C. J.
Always an exciting space with plenty of events going on. Its all very arty with amazing graffiti in the area. Also being on Brick Lane means the area is very exciting.
A. N.
Fantastic spot in london. Great selection of food stalls and bars and cafes. Lots of exciting exhibitions and on occasion performances to catch.
I. J.
Raw, massive space with an edgy vibe, yet accessible and tractable venue. Ran an event her for 3000 over two days and it was professional and high-impact.
p. d.
Truman's brewery is one of the oldest established in the east end of London and is situated at the rear of another east London land mark (namely, the Blind Beggars pub) made infamous by the Kray Twins who were alleged to have murdered Jack The Hat in the pub. The brewery has a long standing community tie and has become a part of East London folk lore, its history alone makes it worth a visit! Check it out people.
J. A.
Great venue, great area. Loads of pop-ups, close to Rough Trade Records, plenty to eat & drink - Also available for private hire for events with so many different options
J. N.
A good pub. It was quiet when we visited, which is unusual for a central pub. Good selection of drink and although we didn't eat, the menu looked decent. Friendly staff and nice location.
D. R.
This is a great Expo venue with lots of quirky spaces that make it have a different feel. It isn’t boring and generic - it’s got some real character to it.
S. C.
Great mindful drinking festival
A. S.
Impossibly busy, but if you can stand the crowds it's an interesting area to visit if you've never been to London
L. d.
Great walk around the area. First time on a weekend. Lovely to see all the street-food vendors. Wonderful atmosphere
C. H.
The Truman Brewery is a historical landmark of London. It is now used as an events space (there is a huge amount of space, several floors and levels and access to a basement and roof level!).
The London Coffee Festival is held here annually in April, and it's also a good space for tech events like Silicon Milkroundabout.
G. T.
Nice Sunday market
K. E.
Very cool and eclectic atmosphere, variety of food and drink spots in the area, and a diverse crowd always - especially nice place on a summers day.
e. w.
Just an amazing place to go to, if you ever visit Brick Lane or the surrounding area's....a must place to check out.
M. H.
Went here for Sunday drinks with a big group of people and sat outside on the tables. There's lots of space and when I went, there were no queues for drinks.
S. M.
Where to spot the Sunday 'Londoner'. The most amazing and cheap street food. Everyone working hard to make a dime , lots of imaginative bits to buy and eat and drink!
l.
Fantastic events area. It's masive. I went to enjoy the coffee festival and it was an unforgivable experience. Always cool stuff are happening there, keep an eye!
E. G.
Great shopping experience. Absolutely loved our day out there!! X
J. B.
I go here every year for the London Coffee Festival and the space is huuuge. I always enjoy the events and the layout is easy to explore
M. v. A.
Came here for the London Coffee Festival and the venue was definitely large enough, but by no means ventilated enough! It was over-crowded and over-heated!
Definitely detracted for the festival's overall energy.
M. G.
Great venue in a great location, plenty of street food outlets around and a variety of independent local shops selling everything from clothing, records, vintage items, antiques.
V. H.
Plenty of unique beers with great flavours. One beer I really liked was Gosnells hopped beer. Overall well worth going.
D. M.
Went to the coffee festival here - great venue with lots of possibilities. However, can become warm and humid in the upper floors..
N. V.
Great venue, at least the part I was in. My only criticism with the Old Truman Brewery is it is so massive and sprawling it is difficult to navigate or understand where it starts and where it ends.
A. C.
Fascinating venue for a beer festival. A very interesting site with good facilities such as WiFi and charging points both plug and USB.
j. T.
Good world food but a bit sloppy and too many chinese with the same food. Good indie market for fashion and nice old space.
S. L.
Coffee festival was buzzing, lots of free coffee
L. R.
Just a cool and vibrant place to visit. Stuffed with great food, art and people.
D. A.
One of London's coolest spots. Grab a coffee or beer, visit the pop-up shops or the indoor market, and visit one of the graduate art shows held here in May and June.
D. F. (.
Love this place been to a few events here and they look after exhibitors. It's a funky shabby chic devote is cool
F. V.
Went here for a art show. Cool place. good size. And well laid out. Been here for a few different things always been impressed.
J. L.
Good venue with many different events during the year. It’s nothing fancy and the bathroom could do with an update but overall good
R. V.
A place that never stop being busy! There's always a festival or exhibition going on. The nearby area in Shoreditch is a pleasure to walk around, too
L. d.
Great walk around the area. First time on a weekend. Lovely to see all the street-food vendors. Wonderful atmosphere
a. b.
Rough Trade, one of the last real record chains left. All the independents have almost all gone. This one is great just to browse round, really love the one in Nottingham as well, maybe a better shop not just one vast space
S. D.
Friends Festive event was very well setup and arranged. Plenty of space and didn’t feel too crowded.
A. S.
Impossibly busy, but if you can stand the crowds it's an interesting area to visit if you've never been to London
J. G.
Great crowd. Buzzing
L. S.
Really good exhibition for the ticket price but it’s up a lot a lot a lot of stairs
N. S.
A great place to spend time at with the family, tourists or for locals. Known for it's vintage clothes and colourful people. Lots of food options and in proximity to lots of attractions in the area.
M.
Had a company event here. Classy place, left a great impression
B. M.
Great place for Everything you need
t. k.
Spacious, friendly atmosphere, with a great selection of craft beer.
A. V.
I parked my car here on a Friday. Don't need to book in advance. Safe place as it's fenced and has gates
B. F.
Best fried ice cream at ts fried scoop
E. L.
Nice seating area outside! Great jazz band inside...really nice night x
A. B.
A big venue, and I suppose cool in a certain way, but it's pretty shabby inside, and something of a warren. Fine if the right event is happening there, but no more than that.
A. O.
Greta place to chill, eat, talk and drunk. A selection of food. Mother clucker, and orange buffalo are shown in the picture. But there are other types of food if you fancy something different.
K. B.
Great place to just sit and rest a while, have some good poets on, loos clean. Really felt comfortable
P. Z.
Good market for crafts, handmade goods and quality vinyl record store. Antiques and retro vintage goods are overpriced for anybody but millenial hipsters.
S. H.
Went for the PC gamer show, large open spaces spread over several floors. Lovely venue, if a little cold
J. J.
Great place for a day spent on your feed with friends or your significant other. Love the area and the street art is beautiful.
M. P.
Friendly atmosphere, great beers
R. B. S. T.
Very nice old brewery from the 18th century. Food, drinks, music and Street-Art. All of it in the same place. Always great to be in Brick Lane and the Truman Brewery.
Y.
They have a great range of street food from around the world and they do not disappoint. If you don't know what you want for lunch or dinner, then why not have a little bit of everything.
J. L.
Quiet. Not my favourite market but worth a visit if you have time.
T. A.
Great place for a variety of companies showing their wares. Great food and drink places. Boxpark Shoreditch isn't too far away
L. S.
Really good exhibition for the ticket price but it’s up a lot a lot a lot of stairs
M. P.
Great venue and brilliant exposure for new creative talent. In a great place with everything you would expect for a vacation or break in London.
S. P.
I went ot the Summer Art fair there. Great exposition with a lot of different artist. Big space.
G. H.
Really enjoyed the junkyard golf club, organised a work social and it was great fun!
R. C.
Absolutely lovely and unique venue. Great sound and atmosphere, ideal in summer time.
E. G.
Nice vibe. Good for records, bars and clothes
L. S.
Pretty nice place with loads of events happening all year round. Great localisation, just off the Brick Lane
D. R.
A little zen paradise of lovely things and beautiful art
a. c.
Great for a free night. Go for the long island ice teas and stay for the uncompromising techno especially for Black88 and techno sundays
M. G.
With combination of food, drink and places to shop the brewery is an amazing collection of independent shops.
A. G. R.
Been to many great events here. No matter the size they always seem to accommodate, with plenty of great food surrounding the venue.
M. B.
Did an exhibition here. I don't know if it has changed since then but I remember it being really cold and no lift.
C. D.
Crazy golf here is really great fun and great value. A well setup place with moderately priced drinks.
M. M.
Cool venue, in the heart of trendy Shoreditch. Nice beers and comfy sofas. Crazy golf downstairs too!
R. L.
You have not visited the East End of London if you haven't been here
J. B.
Been to this venue twice in the last couple of months for two very different reasons. Awesome place, very unique and offers a lot of options for different set ups.
M. G.
Came here on a Sunday for the market, sadly it's not how I remember it growing up. After a couple of aisle everything was the same. The food court/area is overpriced, average at best.
D. S.
Very nice place with a relaxed atmosphere.
Visited a few times and liked it.
A. W.
Varied range of food options and some great pop ups from time to time. Always worth a visit when in the area to see what’s new
J. P.
Great variety of food. Sit where you can find a space and carry on. Excellent.
A. T.
Excellent venue for trade shows and exhibitions. Good range of food and drink available locally.
D. A.
The Magnum Sensorium experience was so much fun!
N. L.
Nice place to catch up with friends
D. S.
Absolutely fantastic variety of food! Shame it's only open at the weekend but definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
B. M.
Went to view, scouting for a potential event venue. Nice place, complete blank canvas, but turned out to be madly expensive.
M. G.
Good place for having a walk by and also eat. Going to bathroom was a little difficult (just one place in all the building)
J. C.
The old man and I went for a scotch tasting here. Lovely building and very helpful staff (my father is in a wheelchair and they were most courteous).
M. L.
The weekend street food market in the old brewery (directly under the brick stack) is worth seeking out. Unsignposted and unnamed, it has excellent choices, esp the Ethiopian vegetarian stall (£5 meals).
F. C.
Always busy with a young and vibrant crowd on weekends, it's located in the trendy East London about midway to either end of Bricklane
J. P. M.
A really great venue for all sorts of artistic events, highly recommended.
l. g.
I'd expect a little more as a brewery. Selection of beer isnt that great. However a nice bar to have a pint for a bar crawl.
A. M.
Great place for a Saturday/Sunday mooch. Either go super-hungry, or steel-willed to resist all the (illegal) restaurant guys pestering you to eat in their restaurant.
J. H.
Plenty to do and see on the site of this historic brewery on brick lane. Lots of pop up shops and decent selection of street food on weekends...
J. R.
Industrial loft style location. Good for events. Appreciated a lot the small terrace outside.
W. C.
Lots of different events here, as well as a good mix of shops and eateries around the site (including the food vans in the car park!)
a. r.
It's like a landmark but within East London. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't see it filled with locals and others looking for a decent place for drinks
S. H. (.
For venue hire they have it all. Parking is awkward but so is everywhere in that area. Venues are decent and value for money.
K. P.
Went for one of the Vegan events and it was so well established. And it is an amazing event venue
E. R.
Always a too-large selection of food. Some stalls take cards, but bring cash if you want the full option.
J. A.
Decent street food but abit on the pricey side. Have to visit multiple stalls for a beer and food and the queues can get tedious.
S. J.
Went for a friend's bday and had a lovely night, the live jazz band was good
P. H.
I'm giving it five stars from stories from friends but it was actually closed the Sunday morning we were in Brick Lane.
m. a.
ruman's Brewery was a large East London brewery and one of the largest brewers in the world at the end of the 19th century. Founded around 1666, the Black Eagle Brewery was established on a plot of land next to what is now Brick Lane in London, E1. It grew steadily until the 18th century when, under the management of Benjamin Truman, and driven by the demand for porter, it expanded rapidly and became one of the largest brewers in London. Its growth continued into and through the 19th century with the expansion of its brewery and pub estate. In 1873, it purchased Philips Brewery in Burton and became the largest brewery in the world.[1]
The situation changed for Truman's in the 20th century as it had to come to terms with the rise of lager, cheaper competition from imports and the consolidation of the biggest names in British brewing through mergers. Attempts to come to terms with these changes through management restructures and rebranding did not succeed, and in 1989 the brewery was closed.
The Truman's brand was revived in 2010 and, since 2013, beer is again being brewed in East London under the Truman's name.
R. C.
I stopped in for a quick beer. Very busy,......but what isn't in London? They had the "fake beer" (no alcohol ) that I was looking for. Not everywhere in the UK does.
S. B.
Great selection stalls offering, great food, jewelry, and excellent vintage clothes.
B. S.
It was interesting as a place but was more like a centre than a place to drink and wasn't open on the day we visited
T. K.
The Sunday market is world renowned. I work in an office in brick lane but the Sunday atmosphere is too good.
E. g. B. n.
London Coffee Festival 2018
H. H.
Range of vintage shops - many selling the same thing. Some home made/unique pieces but quite over priced.
A. K.
