A hidden gem 💎
Love this theatre, a small intimate venue, perfect for seeing a whole host of different entertainment. A crucial part of the arts scene in the North East. Pay as you feel is implemented well and keeps the venue open to all. A nice bar space outside to have some drinks and chill out before/after your main event. Please come down and support your local venues, they deserve it!

A small theatre that's community based and deserving of support. An eclectic range of work to watch. Very friendly staff. Pop in for a coffee or wine.

Wow what a play we saw here last night. All White Everything But Me, What is history and who decides who gets remembered? I hope this play goes on tour so more people can watch it. The writing and acting are outstanding.

Saw Sugar Baby, such a hilarious and well performed one man show. As for the theater, very intimate space and lovely!

Great, small theatre. Covid safe & performance I saw was amazing by a local performer. Pay as you feel is excellent to offer a wide choice to audiences on low income/not working. Bar prices very reasonable. Will definitely return

Excellent small theatre, brilliant production when we were there, and a nice relaxed bar too.

Amazing place to express your self and a safe place for the community. Safe place for all.

Really quirky and distinct theatre with a great ambience. The theatre is large enough not to be claustrophobic but small enough to feel like your in the middle of the acts. Just watched Whale of a time and it was absolutely brilliant.

A fabulous Independent venue for local plays. Very talented writers and actors. Would highly recommend x

I went to a wedding reception here. It was excellent. The staff were lovely, helpful and made the day extra special. It's a great venue and I believe they do great work for independent theatre. It's a fantastic space with a bar/ cafe, book shop/swap corner, theatre and a warm welcome from the staff.

Lovely evening. Varied entertainment, including solo acoustic music, circus performers, a drag queen, an artist working before our eyes and the headline act was a band called Head of Light Entertainment. Excellent sound system, Great night out.

My wife and I were here last night for the first time, it won't be the last. The place is basic, quirky and unpretentious . Before the play we had a diet coke and a double espresso £ 3-10 very reasonable price, the play itself was very enjoyable and thought provoking, well produced and acted. All in all, a very enjoyable experience. Thanks to all concerned.

Excellent, small theatre space. Brilliant covid measures and the pay as you feel process is so low pressure and easy even the most anxious can manage this.

Excellent independent charity theatre which programmes a wide variety of great shows, many of them pay as you feel. The bar/coffeeshop is absolutely lovely and a perfect place to whittle away the afternoon/evening.

Another cosy little entertainment find for all you down-to-earthers who want a hide-away from the mainstream. Just over the road and 2 minutes walk from the back of Dance City and 3 minutes walk up from The Centre for Life!! Theres a bar with shelves full of books if you fancy a quiet read) in the bar!! There's also a relaxing small area of outdoor seating ☺️🎦🎭☕🍪📚🍺🥃🍷🍸

Cosy, community theatre. Relaxed, comfy cafe/bar space. Book swap area. Cutting edge comedy, circus, theatre and happenings at very reasonable (or pay as you feel) ticket prices. Shows sell out quick as it's a small venue so book early!
C. H.
An independent powerhouse of theatre, visual art, music, poetry, comedy and so much more. Plus it's also a bookshop. Swing by on most nights of the week to catch a show in an intimate and friendly setting. Or else go on the website and see if there's something that intrigues you coming up. Get to feel part of something fresh, exciting and exclusive whilst knowing you're supporting independent artists produce important new work. Also they have a house dog called Rex and he's a babe.

Warm, welcoming, inclusive space with a vibrant programme of live acts from theatre and comedy to music and art. Great for a night out or even just a nice spot for a drink.

Saw my friend and her band play who were fantastic. The venue is intimate and a great place for nurturing the arts in Newcastle. Also, excellent beer!
W. R.
An absolutely superb theatre with a fantastic community ethos and a welcoming, friendly, all-inclusive atmosphere. The shows are always unique and of the highest standard. Go as soon as you can.

Canny, quirky, little spot. I've seen comedy gigs, music acts and plays here. My only gripe is the price of the drinks so I tend to dash to the gig at the last minute and have pre-show drinks elsewhere. I'm a minimum wage monkey though... so price matters more.
L. S.
Intimate theatre, friendly staff, great for gigs.
N. S.
Fantastic evening in a wonderfully friendly environment. Brilliant showcase for new and emerging talent. Superb performances from the cast in a venue which will surely go from strength to strength.
