Went to see Drip on the 26th April along with a group of young people from Gateshead Youth assembly, the performance was brilliant and was an excellent opportunity for a social night for our members which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The venue is an amazing space and staff were more than happy to help us, would highly recommend live theatre.

Lovely theatre, as the main room is small it's very intimate. There's always something going on. Price of drinks is a bit steep.

Great production, Great theatre. Parking nearby free after 5pm at Quayside multi storey.
B. M.
Great place. This theatre is so personal and so genuine. Warm, friendly and shows wonderful pieces. It encourages new talent, embraces diversity and is a brilliant flagship for the Northeast and its people.

Fantastic venue. As a regular patron of the Bush Theatre, Menier Chocolate Factory, The Bunker and The Almedia, The Vault and The Union, in London..... it is great to find a HIGH QUALITY small space theatre on the Newcastle Quayside.
L. K.
Never been to a live theatre performance before but am now hooked. It was brilliant. Will be back for more
M. G.
Great space for events as well as theatre, located on the Quayside. Also run workshops and courses. Looking forward to seeing The Terminal Velocity of Snowflakes and post show talk ( had a great review in the Guardian).

A great venue that belies its austere entrance. Full of history, a great stage with cabaret style seating at tables on ground floor and great view from tiered seats in the gallery.
J. R.
Great venue, great show, great seats - the small intimate venue is just really fun to go to and have a drink and see a performance.
B. B.
Fantastic showing of 'Clear White Light', great sets, actors, well integrated- spellbinding music, and great overall production. Lovely bar area. Frienfly staff.

Good atmosphere, love going to the live theatre

Intimate theatre with more comfortable seats than the bigger places- but only if you book in advance...If you buy tickets on the night you will get the cabaret seats which are just tables and chairs in front of the stage.
The only thing that let the place down was the warm drink.. nobody wants a shot served with a mixer stored at room temperature!

Really nice small theatre with very friendly staff. Really enjoyed our visit.

Unbelievably brilliant !

Loved the Theatre. Small and personal, but the building has been restored keeping many original external brick walls as features internally. Bar has a great atmosphere.

Opened in the early 70s by Jimmy Nails sister as a Geordie hub of live theatre productions and creative writing . And so it has successfully continued. Internationally acclaimed.Great atmosphere and even a nice little bar. Great theatre , get yourself along
A. M.
I was supporting at the Open Heritage weekend. The building is steeped in history as well as its later theatre connections. The view from. The third floor is interesting too. The play productions are excellent too... Review on another visit!

This place is great for the following reasons :
- located on Newcastle's beautiful quayside area.
- always interesting if slightly fringe like events.
- excellent sound and lighting with comfy seats.
- reasonable ticket prices.

Best experience ever, cried, laughed, happy and sad. I went through every emotion. Met the cast who were the loveliest people you could ever meet. But don't make this the last show, the music is fantastic but the theme of mental health will live with me forever along with Lindisfarne. All I can say to all the cast is thank you and God bless you all
J. O.
This small theatre by the quayside in Newcastle packs a BIG punch. Every performance has been an emotional rollercoaster and a fabulous night out. Don't expect run of the mill stuff or musicals but if you want full on drama then this is the place for you.

Nice theatre.

The Silk Road - what an amazing production. He tugged on our heartstrings as delicately as a connoisseur breathes the aromas of a fine wine. We laughed, cried, commiserate and rejoiced with him. The room was lovely and intimate; we felt not only like we were part of the performance bit part of the world he lived in. Stunning surroundings and friendly bar staff.

A gem. Small, cosy venue. Downstairs the seats offer a great view of the stage. The 'cabaret seats' are even closer to the stage so be warned, you might become part of the production. We saw (the fantastic) The Cheviot, the stag and the black, black oil. As part of the pre show ceilidh some audience members took part in a Canadian barn dance that took them between the tables and the stage.
The balcony seats also have good views of the stage, even from the back row.
Bar area has a few seats but there's a cosy room to the rear with more seating.

The theatre is small and intimate. You feel close to the actors. The bar is right outside the theatre and you can take drinks in with you.
Overall, very enjoyable experience here.

Fantastic hidden gem in the city. You can sneakily see this building when you cross the Tyne bridge in a sea of rooftop buildings, because it has its name sprawled out across the tiles in white paint, if it was not for this signage, I probably wouldn't have discovered what a fantastic little venue this place really is. Hosting everything from stand up comedy to company runs.
Check out the 360 images of the interior on here.

Great venue, mad even better by the show. Clear White Light is a thought provoking and entertaining show. Theatre is intimate and engaging.

Very nice. I wish the hearing impaired loop system was working or worked better. I was towards the back and couldn't understand the dialogue. Otherwise I'd give the venue a full 5 stars.
