I have benefited from the Atlas Orthogonal procedure since 2012 before moving to the UK. However, during the pandemic, my regular chiropractors were out of reach, and I was in a lot of pain. In 2020, I found the only professional who works with this procedure in the UK. I was willing to travel from Essex to the West Midlands to visit the Newport Chiropractic Clinic. Doctor Iain Smith is attentive, analytical and wise. His knowledge and experience helped him understand my condition. He adjusted my Atlas and combined other useful techniques that made me feel a lot better. All the team at the clinic is amazingly helpful and friendly. The Atlas Orthogonal is an upper cervical specific chiropractic technique that utilises a gentle, calibrated instrument to correct misalignments of the Atlas relative to the skull base. This treatment is widely used by only a few highly trained chiropractors around the world. Many health problems can be alleviated through this technique. I strongly recommend Newport Chiropractic Clinic, Doctor Iain Smith and his team. I also suggest that more people would benefit from the Atlas Orthogonal procedure that takes advantage of technological advances.

I have been visiting Newport Chiropractic for a couple of years now. I actually travel 2 hours to visit the clinic from my home. Dr Iain is extremely thorough and knowledgeable about all areas of health and wellbeing - not just back and musculoskeletal issues. He initially treated me with upper cervical work but now that that is resolved, he works on other areas for me. I am in a much better place than I was before I saw him. Everyone at the clinic is extremely friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. I recommend Dr Iain to all my friends who need help in this area and he is the only chiropractor in the UK I would see.

Mixed opinion. Great for diagnosis of neck problems such as cervical instability. However the adjustment sadly didn't improve my symptoms, in fact I developed a lot more body wide symptoms very soon afterwards, issues I did not have before. I still have these now a year later. But I do believe that Dr Smith does care. He is also very good at reading scans. My opinion is that anyone with damaged ligaments should be getting adjustments.

I had an unfortunate event of hitting my head back in 2021, being hypermobile this caused awful pain and neurological issues for me. After numerous dismissals from the NHS and no help what so ever from them other than medication that didn't help at all, I found Dr Iain Smith and travelled and still do travel 3/4 hours to see him. I had one adjustment with Dr Smith and although I still have symptoms I am able to function and be upright a lot more than I was able to. I see Dr Smith for maintenance and check ups. If it wasn't for him, I don't think I'd be here right now. His adjustment has managed to clear up some of my symptoms and I am able to function enough to look after my autistic little boy. It is difficult to get a response but they are busy and you just have to keep trying. I also believe Dr Smith doesn't like to say too much as he doesn't want to mislead people and cervical spine dynamics and symptoms can cross over with lots of other issues.

After decades of visits to doctors and specialists who disregarded my health problems (fatigue/pain/neurological symptoms - eventually diagnosed through Medserena scan as Atlanto axial instability), Iain was able to identify an underlying issue and offer exercises to help within just one session. Having the tools to deal with flare ups has been life changing and Iain is an incredible ally to a particular subset that are so often dismissed by the medical community. Thank you Iain for all that you do.

I was referred to dr Ian in 2017 after having an upright mri scan at medserrena in London I was advised by them after having the results to visit dr Iain at Newport chiropractic , I was suffering severe cognitive problems , headaches , vomiting , double vision , neck pain and previously had seen other chiropractors locally to me who worked best they could on me but something was missing . I visited Telford and stayed in a hotel the staff at the hotel said to me they receive patients from all over the world and dr Ian really helps them . Any patient suffering from atlanto axial instability I’m sure goes through the same as me in the uk , it’s not understood and no clear pathway for patients or neurosurgeons living in the uk . After my first atlas orthogonal treatment I knew that was exactly what every other person I had seen was missing . Dr Ian is a gifted man a kind man and I’m sure only the patients suffering from my condition know how much he helps us .

One thing I can say is that Ian and his staff are fantastic.Every time I have needed to speak with Ian even though I haven't seem him in a year he has got back to me to advise. Hes never let me down. I came from Italy to meet Dr. Smith, as well as being very precise and nice he is a great chiropractor I had to reposition my atlas and the doctor was very good,i think that is the best correction that i receve after my trauma
