Reviews of Hemlock Stone
A. B.
Great place for mountain biking. Other users are always friendly in my experience. Some great lines for beginners and the more advanced as well as the jump section at the bottom.
Always clean and pretty rubbish free up there too.

The Mountain Bike Trails here are excellent, they do not get waterlogged so good to ride in most weathers well maintained by excellent local trail association, volunteers.
There are 3 main trails none of which I would say are suitable for novice riders so ride with care.

It's quirky it's got a history / story behind it and worth going then to go on bramcote hills park for walk and play area both great

Delightful and historical reasons to post. Used to attend the local ATC and did night exercises up Hemlock stone. A joyous place especially this time of year.

It's definitely earned its title as largest stone in Nottingham! Very beautiful and truly a wonder to behold. It's got a little fence thing surrounding it so you can't fully access the stone but it's probably for the best. Would 10/10 recommend visiting hemlock stone- just note it's on quite a steep hill!

Nice place to take a walk or a bike ride with or without dogs. Well maintained woods with very little rubbish.

This is a beautiful place but has been turned into a mountain bike park which is fine if that's your thing...
However for walkers and people who enjoy unspoilt woodland and wild life I'm afraid it's been ruined with tracks that have been dug in mountain bikers flying down the routes not at all safe or suitable for family or dog walking.. And don't get me started on the amount of litter and rubbish... Such a shame...

A great place for a walk or mountain biking on the bonkers trails. The views at the top are excellent as well.

The Hemlock Stone or Himlack Stone is an inselberg on Stapleford Hill at Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, England. Protected by an iron fence. Easy to walk up to and offers a view of the Bramcote Walled garden opposite. An information board gives further information about the stone.

Lovely woods, and a beautifully kept area for picnics etc

Got the tram for a day out from Nottingham and was a great walk and place to go see when nothing is open. It's bigger than you expect!

These MTB trails look really good. Had a go at the right most one but as there wasn't a soul here decided to return another day as some of the features are pretty big for a beginnner. Had some fun at the dirt jumps at the bottom of the trails. Will be coming back one day :)

MTB trails quite technical. Try and download a map beforehand.

This is a very clean and social area. The woodlands are rather clean and hilly, perfect to tire a dog on on a stroll (many other dogs in there on/off lead but all seem rather friendly too). The car park next to is tidy and of a good size for accommodating visitors.
This is also great to take kids as its clean and there's an enclosed play area. Great area for mountain bikers to keep their muscles flexed and joggers too.

A natural standing stone. A result of geology, where lower layers of rock have been eroded but protected by a rock with less erodability. But although you cannot touch it, due to fencing all around, there's a feeling of age and magic about it and you can understand how it has a spiritual presence for some people. I only had a few minutes to take a look but would love to explore the area around it in the future.
Enjoyed the beautiful view toward the gardens across the main road, which are also worth a short visit and provide a good place to park if visiting by car.
Quite steep to get to from the road, but there may be an easier route to approach.
M. W.
Amazing park with lots of woodland, good for long walks or to let the little ones burn of steam ,the stone is just one highlight ,lots of events all year round and a really nice coffee van😊
M. M.
Unfortunately there is no car park so you have to find car. It good idea if you bring your own bike this place is suitable for biking. You can also walking in forests. The stone is black and orange colour. The entrance is free but it not suitable for wheelchair accessible.

This is a lively place I've got no complaints about it. It's a brilliant place to go and shred trails with mates or family that enjoy its as well its also good to go on walks as once you get to the top of the hill you get to look around and see the lovely seanary but you can take kids down as well as its a family friendly area and most kids enjoy seeing the mountain biker go riding past I've got no complaints about here and I recommend if you see this to go there.
D. W.
I personally didnt like it as much as I'm not that good on my bike but if you are a experienced biker then I'll recommend this to you .... There is a 3-5m ramp drop. But yeah not for me.

Took a little walk around here

Very pretty, but there's a sudden mountain biking path in the woods near it that isn't very well sign-posted, so you risk getting run over by high speed bikes.

Incredible mountain bike trails. Short but oh so sweet. Well looked after by a great community of riders. Get stuck in and lend a hand on regular dig days!

The largest of the Three Rocks of Nottinghamshire and the most easily accessible. The area around is good for walks (with or without children or dogs).

For casual stroll you're far better off at Bramcote. Cyclists and mountain bikers all around if that's your thing. Hemlock stone is a big stone. That's about it.

Unusual place of interest. The rock with it's height and stand alone position leaves it open to much speculation.
