After developing sciatica in my left leg, I visited Dr. Chen at The Longthorpe Clinic and underwent acupuncture amongst other osteopathy treatments. Having since had four consultations with Dr. Chen, I have found that my condition has improved immeasurably and feel I am almost ready to return to distance running. Dr. Chen is both welcoming and very professional and I highly recommend him!

We recently took our son Max to see Dr Chen Chen, Max had problems with his lower back (SI Joint) for 6 months & after 5-6 sessions with various Osteopath/Physio's & two visits to the doctor we were still non the wiser as to what the problem was. Max was in pain most days & simple tasks like walking or biking to school would also aggravate his back. Dr Chen Chen was amazing he diagnosed Max within minutes & went straight to work on him. After the first session (45 mins) Max had no more pain in his lower back, this was followed up by two more sessions in the next 13 days, the final session was to re-align his spine. Following a back injury in February that left me unable to walk 50 yards and high dosage of analgesia I met Dr Chen and within 4 weeks of treatment I was able to walk properly and reduce to half of my medication. Dr Chen is the most knowledgeable and articulate health professional that I have met. I have been visiting his clinic for almost a year having had an injury and arthritic condition to manage. I had been using crutches for four months but that was the last time I needed them and haven’t looked back since. Dr Chen is highly experienced and very professional, I have already recommended him to family and friends so do not hesitate to see him if you have any concerns. From the first couple of minutes I knew I had made the right choice. He is a lot cheaper than anyone else and the level of personal care is very high. I have been seeing Chen for nearly 2 years now. I first went to him with a shoulder/neck injury that I had been dealing with for nearly 3 years. I had been to see multiple physio's, Osteopaths & Doctor's. I had scans, injections, treatments and an operation. He not only got my shoulder issue resolved physically but he is also very good to talk to and gets your mind in a very positive place. Dr Chen is a highly professional and very well qualified practitioner who quietly puts his patients at ease and explains in layman’s terms what he believes to be the problem and how he proposes to achieve a good resolution. Over the last few years Dr Chen has treated my wife and myself with both osteopathy and acupuncture for a number of conditions, some responding quickly and others more slowly but always with successful results. My wife especially had painful back problems that was never successfully diagnosed by the NHS, just treated with pain killers, but Dr Chen from his in-depth questioning of all her medical history decided it was most likely to be connected with a fall she had at work many years previously where she must have sustained a whiplash injury that went unnoticed.

I would highly recommend Longthorpe Clinic. Dr Chen is very knowledgeable and you are in safe hands. At the beginning of 2018 I was experiencing really painful spasms in my lower back as well as pain in my leg and groin. I visited Dr Chen who upon examining me urged that I go back to my gp and ask for an MRI scan to be carried out on my lower back. In April 2018 MRI test results showed that I had a number of disc bulges and degenerated discs in my lower back. My consultant suggested that I have surgery to help. However after discussing with Dr Chen and him reassuring me that he could help I decided to hold off from having surgery. I found great relief in the Osteopathic treatment provided by Dr Chen which also included acupuncture, physiotherapy and strength building exercises some of which I could also do at home. A second MRI in August 2018 showed that there had been a significant change in the bulging discs that I would now not need surgery. I am grateful to Dr Chen for insisting that I have the MRI scan.. and also for giving me back my independence.

Dr. Chen. An absolute God send. In December 2016 I collapsed with excruciating pain in my lower back and along the entire of my right leg. Following an MRI scan, an extrusion of 15mil was found between my 4th and 5th disc. The compression to the sciatic nerve was causing the immense pain I was feeling. I went to see Dr Chen who after having examined me and viewed my MRI scan started treatment, and with a combination of manipulation, acupuncture, heat therapy and specific exercises done at home he helped me to manage and very quickly relieve and cure me of the awful pain my sciatica was causing me. By June 2017 I was able to walk upright, without the aid of a walking stick, and virtually pain free. In November 2017 for no reason at all I started getting pain in my left knee which soon increased to severe pain and endless sleepless nights. Following another MRI scan and a visit to a specialist I was told that I had a large tear to the cartilage in the back of my knee. The consultant informed me that as the tear was at the rear of the knee it unfortunately would not heal itself and I had the choice of either leaving it and hope that it would eventually settle or have it operated on. I immediately went to see Dr Chen who after examining me told me that he was confident that with treatment he would be able to help me. As his treatment worked on my back I decided to go ahead and again with a combination of massage, acupuncture, exercise and heat therapy in a matter of 2/3 months the pain had gone and able to sleep through the night, and most importantly avoided having the operation. Dr Chen is extremely professional and very efficient in all he does. You feel very at ease when speaking to him and he always explains everything he does before he starts any form of treatment. His methods have certainly helped me. and for peace of mind I am presently seeing him once every 6 months for maintenance. If you're suffering from chronic pain, muscle spasms, stress or you have strained your muscles, I would recommend you to go see Dr Chen. He will definitely help you and advise you with some exercise to do to help you get you back to your feet. I had very bad pain on my biceps for a while and I told him about it and how long I had it, wow wow wow after 3 treatment I was able to go back and do what I love. My advise to everyone please do not wait for the problem to get worse. Even once monthly for a full body treatment is very important. Hardly able to walk due to a serious painful spinal problem. NHS Doctors gave a weak response and no action but, after a few visits to Dr. Chen, walking's easy and pain has almost gone. Additional skills such as Acupuncture are good value for money if it means a quick recovery!

Brilliant Osteopath!!! Dr Chen helped me with my pain management after suffering with 4 dengerative discs in my neck that had been causing nerve impingement, while I await treatment At hospital. He also helped me communicate my symptoms to my doctor, which led to a referral for an MRI scan, had he not been there I don’t think I could of ever convinced the Dr to get me a scan as previous visits had led to me being given exercise after exercise.
