Absolutely loved this castle but I'm a massive saxon and viking fan. Not a lot left but was nice just being up there and picturing what was. The views are great too

Really great views with some great history only down fall was the group of teenagers below swearing and shouting and the local resident who made the climb all the way up the top of the Castle to tell me he didn't like me flying my drone there...which legally I'm entitled to do...unfortunately he really wasn't a very nice person and didn't like being corrected...for me he let the area down with his attitude and lack of respect.

A classic motte and bailey castle with great views. Path upto it is narrow and beware of brambles but the keep is well maintained and the bailey likewise.

A hidden piece of history in the heart of Plympton the remains of a 12th century castle with stunning views of surrounding areas. Not easy to find but well worth the effort.

I love that Plympton has a castle and even better, it is free to visit! Great place to walk the dogs too. There is also a couple of swings at the bottom, so entertainment for everyone!

Fab views and historic attraction of this old Town

Great as an introduction to English castles. The secluded grassy space in the former castle bailey is a space where children can play safely and well behaved dogs can run too. There are some swings here. Caution! There is a drop from the site of the former walled Bailey boundary to be aware of but it's relatively easy to keep little ones away from the banked up edge. My granddaughter and I liked the circular walk through the undergrowth to the top of the ruined castle tower and the view over Plymmton St Morice from the top There is a notice board explaining the castle history in the site. Entry is free Other castles relatively close include Launceston and Lostwithiel and Dartmouth but they may be closed and charge admission
