This is a great little theatre with lots of charm and enough space to seat around 250. The stage is a good size and there's a handy bar area too. It's surprising and a little sad that this is now the city's only theatre. Support it if you can.

Recommend a hilarious radio play being recorded at Preston Playhouse on November 26th....Up The Clondy....and its done in the lovely quaint surround of The Playhouse

Great little local theatre, run by volunteers putting in some great productions

Went to see calendar girls it was brilliant it was a much better production than the one I saw a few years ago at the winter gardens all the cast were extremely good

Great place, car park can get full on theater nights,no matinees ,seats are good but some people might complain as not being wide enough, ample leg room in aisles, great sound system and enjoyable bar and friendly staff.
D. T.
Great affordable local theatre with a varied bill of plays and other productions throughout the year. Bar facilities available.

Went to see Carlton Kirby, famous as a international commentator for Eurosport, the tour of France and the Paris- Dakar rally.
Had a great evening. Staff were well organized, efficient and polite. Has a small bar with a decent selection of drinks.

A group of friends and I went to watch Ladies Down Under. Fantastic show it's was great to laugh for the first time in a long time out with friends and where better than at the play house theatre.

A lovely intimate little theatre with a cosy atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed my evening of Gilbert and Sullivan.

Top quality AM DRAM and touring companies. The Hall Players production of Happy Times by Alan Ayckbourn was hilarious we left the Theatre still laughing. What a tonic in these strange times.

Good smaller theatre, all seats have excellent views of the stage and lots of varied local productions throughout the year. It was my first time visiting, but with the price, and parking opposite the front of the theatre, I will be going again.
I've given five stars because it's perfect at what it does and offers. It's not a big venue so there's no point in making those comparisons. The staff are friendly, approachable and very helpful, so I'm happy to say my experience was five star.

Great little venue with a cheap bar

Very popular. Warm, plenty of refreshments. Free parking an advantage but donations welcome.

This theatre has so much more to offer because of the wonderful volunteers that run it that it often out-shines the professional theatres. It is not just about talent, though they have plenty of that, but the whole experience of visiting a show in this atmosphere of dedication and magic guarantees a great night out, whatever the genre currently being delivered.

Excellent place to see if a really funny production

Home of amatuer dramatics in Preston. The Playhouse is used by several groups so a varied mix of plays and light opera. The seats are small by modern standards but still comfort and we have always been able to see the stage well. Value for money tickets( around £10) with a cheap bar and tea/ coffee together will free car park via a permit from the box office.

This is a small cosy old theatre, we have been there many times and thoroughly enjoyed the experiences. It has recently had a tasteful facelift to the foyer and lounge areas. The programme varies so a visit to their web page is recommended. Advanced booking is possible.

B. L.
Brilliant little theatre with shows for all the family and all tastes throughout the year it has a licensed bar at reasonable prices tea and coffee also available one of our favourite places.

The theatre, its personnel, front of house or backstage and not forgetting the wonderful acting companies that perform give the playhouse its heart. A very enjoyable evening out. Never disappointed.
C. C.
Great theatre, but on two productions this year, the sound has been pathetic. Staff not as friendly as you might have thought for a small amateur theatre. Update 2019 Panto still had many sound issues. Very annoying for the audience.....so still the problem rumbles on.
I. P.
Lovely small intimate theatre. Lovely experience.
P. E.
Was a very good venue for concert. Shame there is in rake on the seats which could restrict the view if the venue was full. Great bar staff and reasonably priced
