So so helpful! Matt has been helping me (on and off) for around 5 years now. I have had some terrible experiences with hypnotists but Matt is always helpful and gentle and listens to what I want to focus on using the hypnotherapy. This gent has done some amazing work for me - he has helped me give up smoking and lose 114kg - that's 18stone.This may sound impossible but I have before and after photos. He also has helped me work through lingering childhood issues, my Borderline Personality Disorder and emotional instability. I cannot recommend his hypnosis enough. During times of great chronic pain and disability he has helped me cope when things were very dark for me. I have an addictive personality and if I am struggling to stop a new addiction, he helps with great talent. He also knows all about NLP & life coaching & can help with those methods too. Although I prefer hypnosis, should I decide I would like to focus on NLP or Life Coaching, I would not hesitate to ask Matt to work with me using those methods. I simply cannot recommend Matt enough. If you have some serious changes you feel you need to make to your life, Matt is your man, and has the coolest name too! Thank you Matt!

I highly recommend Matthew as an experienced hypnotherapist and NLP coach. I went for help with anxiety issues and he quickly helped me clear my unhelpful and negative thought patterns that were holding me back. My life long fear of public speaking is now history ! I've been smoking for over 30 years and for 28 of those I've been smoking cannabis every day.. Over the last 10 years, my habit grew out of control and I was spending over £500 a month on weed... 8 days ago I met Matthew... 8 days ago I stopped smoking... Every day I pinch myself... I would highly recommend Matthew, he has really helped me with a fear of flying and I have since been able to travel long haul with no worries at all. Thanks to Matthew I haven't touched a cigarette for the past 18 months and I used to smoke a paquet a day, and that after just one hypnotherapy session. More recently, he helped me a lot with anxiety with one session. Because of anxiety, I wasn't eating or sleeping properly. I went to see Matthew last year for a number of different things so I’ll go through them and briefly state what worked and how it helped 1 Intrusive and morbid thoughts: I was having daily thoughts about myself and loved ones dying or being hurt and it was causing me terrible troubles. These went straight away after the 1st session and this was amazing, this was the first thing Matthew suggested would help straight away. 5 out of 5 2 Spider fear: This one didn’t work quite so well but I’m not as scared as I was. I still scan rooms but less so and when I have seen them I’m much calmer than I used to be but still a bit aware of them. 4 out of 5 3 Public speaking: This is much better and I am able to feel calmer inside I’ve had many smaller meetings where I have spoken more and felt good about it. I also was able to talk to about 18 people with some nerves but this was my first time since university that I had to do this and it was okay but I still did it. This is getting better every time now. This did take 2 sessions. 5 out of 5 4 A personal issue and I will not go into what it was: This is now not an issue for me and this is a massive relief because it was affecting me in my daily life. I left this one until last because I wasn’t really sure about telling Matthew and I honestly felt that it was something I should be able to get over myself but I couldn’t. But now it has gone and I am amazed and truly thankful. This almost seemed like the least important thing but has probably turned out to be the most important thing and I will admit I almost didn’t let Matthew address it. 5 out of 5 Overall I would rate this service 5 out of 5

After 20 years of struggling to find any real help for my issues through counselling and psychotherapy, I decided to give hypnotherapy a try. Matthew was friendly and welcoming and quickly put me at ease, being easy to talk with rather than indifferent and un-opinionated like the cold fish therapists I've struggled to engage with in the past. Due to the nature of my difficulties I can't say that I found all the sessions easy, however I did find a peculiar kind of peace and serenity afterwards which often gave me the space in my head to put together some missing parts of my jigsaw puzzle. Matthew also gave me some tools to help me cope with more everyday situations that I sometimes found troublesome. All in all, none of it was anything like I expected it to be. All I can say is that 20 months after meeting him I am far from the state of chaos and despair that I had been in, and well on the way to having the life I had envisaged for myself.

Found Matthew after looking for help with gambling (fobt) addiction after a few years of destruction. Spoke to him on the phone and he reassured me he could help. He said it would take 3 sessions to cure. So after having two sessions I thought I'd conquered the world and abstained for around 100 days, but low n behold the demons set in. So another phone call and he said we must do the three sessions this time, so I complete the three sessions. Hey presto not an urge and 250 days gambling free. Excellent service. Matthew helped me get through a bad spot. I was sceptical, thought this stuff was nonsense. However, not sure exactly what he did, I even walked away from the session thinking that the treatment had no effect at all...didn't feel any different but the next morning, things were certainly very different. l didn't have the worries on my mind that l had the night before and what made me go to Matt. I had suffered from ongoing personal issues for some time that, combined with a lot of work related stress, led to me suffering from anxiety attacks - basically feeling that I might die on the street. As a divorcee I was faced difficult decisions about my family. At that time I needed help to deal with feelings of loss and loneliness. The Excel practice provided me with support in the short term, but, and more importantly for me, a solid basis to focus on my own needs, and take the care to get my life back on track. The decisions I made at the time now seem to have been in the best interests of everybody. Matt was able to help me understand and manage the source of my work related stress. I found that I could positively assert what i could and could not do, thereby managing the expectations of my clients and getting my stress an anxiety under control. Excellent help.

It was with many misgivings that I made the decision to check into hypnotherapy. It's not the traditional route that people take but when just going to a counselor wasn't working, I made the big and extremely important (although I would not realise until later how important) decision, to see what a hypnotherapist would/could do for me. I had all the common misconceptions we see on comedy programmes, i.e. At a snap of the fingers, can make you bark like a dog. That idea is about as realistic as a giant bunny delivering baskets of chocolates on Easter to children. What I found what a confident, very reassuring professional who put me at ease immediately. A consummate professional, we small-talked briefly to calm my nerves and then before I realized it, I felt total relaxation and calm. It is virtually impossible to explain to someone who has never been to a decent hypnotherapist what it means to be hypnotized. It would be like trying to explain calculus to a hamster. You can't do it. I was extremely aware of where I was, I could hear Mr. Exell mere feet from me, but I was really a million miles away. I felt euphoric. His words, calm, soothing words, were burning into my brain. I did not go to Mr. Exell for weight loss, smoking, alcohol use or anything like that. I went for a much more severe problem, one that I had resigned to thinking I would have to bear the rest of my life. I don't need to share my problems, we all have our own burdens, but I left his office that day feeling better than I had in many a month. I am now seeing Mr. Exell once a week for NLP treatment and it has greatly improved my communication/interaction skills with others. I feel my job performance and relationships with others have improved as a results of my time with Mr. Exell and the excellent care he has provided me with. Less
